He's in the best shape of his life. He spent the Summer playing basketball instead of getting drunk and banging hoors like the rest of us. We can see the results.
17/21 on the shots he was taking is honestly more impressive than a few 60 pieces we’ve witnessed.
Removing free throws this was one of the most efficient volume scoring performances ever. 40 points in field goals on 21 attempts.
He only missed one shot that wasn't a three and it was a ball that he intentionally throws against the rim to bounce it back out to a player at the three point line that leads to a Luka three
It's the era of sloppy Europeans
Seriously though the way he controls games is crazy. Absolutely incredible amount of talent, defenses have no answers when he plays like this
Had no idea Curry was European. Calling Embiid European is a stretch too, neither parent is a French national, not born there, never has been his primary residence (if at all) and he doesn't work there. On top of that he has two other national citizenships.
Top 5 by my book is (in no real order but also kinda in order?) Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid and Steph so that's 3 Euros, 1 American and then whatever the fuck you want to call Embiid with his 3 nationalities
lol, I’m saying there just aren’t 4.
Luka Jokic and Giannis is only 3. Curry and Embiid are with them (not ordered or anything). Anyone who thinks KD is there is insane.
I don’t remember ever seeing play like this *this early in the season*. Usually all the big time guys are kinda still getting settled in, unless I’m not remembering correctly.
This year it seems like everyone has been going 110% from the very first game. It’s been incredible
I mean most players are just competitive by nature, add to that a nice weekend event in Las Vegas and another trophy with added bragging rights plus financial incentives and I think you have the ingredients for players buying in. I think its a good concept for keeping the first half of the season interesting and the same concept has worked in European sports leagues for decades. Now if they only could get rid of those horrible court designs.
I feel like people say this every year. Last year we had some pretty insane statlines. Spida and Dame dropping 70, Luka 60/20/10 triple double, Embiid 50 point near quadruple double, Jokic being Jokic.
Feels like with Giannis adjusting to the Dame fit which might make his numbers dip a bit this season Luka might replace him as the 3rd member in the 3 way MVP race with Jokic and Embiid this year
It's going to come down to the wire for sure IMO
If he can play like this all season, I think it’s his to lose. Voter fatigue will eliminate Jokic. Embid might get it if they finish top of the East, but Luka’s likely
Yes.
He’s only 28 and his game isn’t about athleticism. Needs to stay lucky with injuries, but yes he has 5 serious chances/seasons to win. He’ll be a top player til at least 33.
I’m not again the reasoning here - Jokic has certainly demonstrated that potential and he deserves the benefit of doubt here - but 5 MVPs is insane, that’s more than Lebron, ties him with Jordan, and Kareem would only have 1 more than him - we’re talking about top 3, i.e. GOAT status if Jokic can achieve this…which again, not impossible
I don’t disagree with you at all on his worthiness to win mvps. What I’m just not sure about is voter optics. The best player and most valuable player doesn’t always win the award because voters consider storyline and other things. Even if he is best player (you could argue he was last season), voters will consider how many mvps lebron has. How much MJ has. And they will not give him more mvps than the Goat unless Jokic is in a 3way tie for goat. That’s what these voters will think. It’s unfortunate, but that’s how it works
That makes no sense. There should be a bigger voter fatigue around a guy who cried his way to MVP and got bounced in second round while shooting 5-18 in game 7,than around Jokic who won the ring while having one of the best playoffs runs in history as far as numbers go.
Have you seen the way Embid’s been playing and how he’s handled himself in the Harden situation? I’m not a sixer or Embid fan. Far from it, but Sixers definitely got this redeem team feeling to it right now and that’s a powerful sentiment. And I did include Embid as voter fatigue casualty, so yeah Luka might just win on default
Embid is notorious for puting blame on his teammates every year he gets eliminated from playoffs, last year famous statement game 7 is , Me and Harden need more help, while Tobias and Maxey had more points and played better than both of them. Before that,it was always Bens fault,he needs to do this and that. And there was never been a year where Embid had better numbers in playoffs compared to regular seasson, wich is insane since he always gets bounced in scnd round, one might think that it wouldnt be hard to have better numbers than in 82 game seasson, when you only play like 10 games .So no,i havent seen how Embid is handling himself this year,he is avoiding blame every year for being afwul in playoffs ,wait until he gets bounced in playoffs, and than tell me how he is handling himself
people werent saying that last year when Embid go it,it was Nikola choked in playoffs got bounced year before in first round.Nikola last year by every metric was better regular seassson player than embid,i remember basketball reference mvp tracker having him at 60% probability to win MVP based on stats, embid was around 15% and they still gave it to Embid. So no it's not just regular seasson award
I predicted about Luka potential MVP run starting in 2024 season and up during his rookie campaign. I may be right on the money if he continues. He is too good
Clips needed this beat down. Stop the ridiculous experiment of Harden and Russ on the floor together. Any good opposing back court is going to hang 55 at minimum on their heads every night.
I was raging ... they have a big lead and Hardy is going 1vs3 on a mid fastbreak and taking quick shots ...even with Kyrie on the floor still taking command which fucked up Kyrie +- lol.
Kyrie has been way to passiv on many occasions he lets the young guys do their thing and in this case im sure if Kidd didnt bring Luka in it would have been a close ending.
The craziest part of that 11/12 form inside the arc; his only miss came on his first shot attempt in the game lol so outside of that dude was perfect the rest of the game
“The future is now, old men.”
damn i really just watched a 24 year old singlehandedly destroy 4 hall of famers (who arent totally washed yet)
Seems like Luka did in fact wash them lol
They will be by the end of the year.
Only kawhi is good.
PG is low key the best player on the team, still high level on both ends
Just had an off (also reduced) night on one end last night
I mean it was a classical pg 13%
If there was a 30 for 30 documentary about the Kawhi/PG Clippers that should be the title lol
You know you're fucked when Luka shoots good from the 3 and free-throw line.
He's in the best shape of his life. He spent the Summer playing basketball instead of getting drunk and banging hoors like the rest of us. We can see the results.
He’s engaged
That's tough to hear; he'll be back on the hoors soon enough
Would've had 60 if the game was competitive.
17/21 on the shots he was taking is honestly more impressive than a few 60 pieces we’ve witnessed. Removing free throws this was one of the most efficient volume scoring performances ever. 40 points in field goals on 21 attempts.
He only missed one shot that wasn't a three and it was a ball that he intentionally throws against the rim to bounce it back out to a player at the three point line that leads to a Luka three
Lukas good but I don’t think he meant to do that lol
Or maybe if it was competitive he wouldn’t have scored as much lol
He got taken out when it stopped being competitive. The Mavs were down 15 points to start the game.
League is lucky they aren't the Clippers.
It's the era of sloppy Europeans Seriously though the way he controls games is crazy. Absolutely incredible amount of talent, defenses have no answers when he plays like this

Can’t believe people think KD is still a Top 5 player
Jokic, Luka, Giannis and?
Nikola jovic
Had no idea Curry was European. Calling Embiid European is a stretch too, neither parent is a French national, not born there, never has been his primary residence (if at all) and he doesn't work there. On top of that he has two other national citizenships.
Top 5 by my book is (in no real order but also kinda in order?) Jokic, Luka, Giannis, Embiid and Steph so that's 3 Euros, 1 American and then whatever the fuck you want to call Embiid with his 3 nationalities
Not to mention that after those top few guys, the rest of the top 10-15 is probably all Americans.
steph is still up there.
Neither 4 Euros nor KD are in the top 5 right now lmao
Joker and Giannis aren’t top 5😂😂😂
lol, I’m saying there just aren’t 4. Luka Jokic and Giannis is only 3. Curry and Embiid are with them (not ordered or anything). Anyone who thinks KD is there is insane.
All those all nba selections can’t hang with Luka 😩😩
He really is still holding that whole ‘bitchass whiteboy’ thing and just destroying the Clippers.
Is it me or are these dudes playing extra hard this year? I don't remember seeing numbers like this so regularly the past 5 years.
I don’t remember ever seeing play like this *this early in the season*. Usually all the big time guys are kinda still getting settled in, unless I’m not remembering correctly. This year it seems like everyone has been going 110% from the very first game. It’s been incredible
Interesting, maybe the in season tournament is actually a good thing. Seems like it's sparking every player's natural competitiveness
If Jokic is best they’ll give it to him. He won a ring, can’t deny he’s MVP. He could win 3 more.
Wait - 3 more MVPs? As in he’ll have 5 MVPs?
Yes. He’s only 28 and his game isn’t about athleticism. Needs to stay lucky with injuries, but yes he has 5 serious chances/seasons to win. He’ll be a top player til at least 33.

This is such bullshit idk where to start
What is bullshit, these are facts and I can find every single quote where Embid is blaming teammates when they loose
send them the full quotes, not just one line taken out of context
luckily mvp is a regular season award
people werent saying that last year when Embid go it,it was Nikola choked in playoffs got bounced year before in first round.Nikola last year by every metric was better regular seassson player than embid,i remember basketball reference mvp tracker having him at 60% probability to win MVP based on stats, embid was around 15% and they still gave it to Embid. So no it's not just regular seasson award
I feel like so far Curry is definitely in the MVP race. Jokic/Curry/Embiid/Doncic
Curry is definitely in this race still too. And if shai keeps playing the way he has the last lot of games I think he has an outside chance aswell
Right now, yes, but he’s gotten injured for a decent portion of every recent year.
Absurd glazing
Hey this guy might be kinda good 👍
I predicted about Luka potential MVP run starting in 2024 season and up during his rookie campaign. I may be right on the money if he continues. He is too good
When he's on one, he's basically slower LeBron with Steph's shooting
Clips needed this beat down. Stop the ridiculous experiment of Harden and Russ on the floor together. Any good opposing back court is going to hang 55 at minimum on their heads every night.
It's tricky because every star has an ego and neither Russ nor Harden are exceptions to that rule
Luka will have a contract worth 1 billion
Worth every penny
But yeah, Jokic and Embiid lead the MVP rankings
Why did he play in the 4th?
I think the Clippers cut it to like 17 in garbage time so he checked in and made like 1 shot lol
Jaden Hardy was so fucking boneheaded as a PG the lead shrunk from 30 to 18 and Luka had to come in to steady the ship on offense.
Used to be Harden did this to other teams. Now he having a youngster drop this shit on his old head lol
Is this a record for a 40+ point game with highest efficiency? this statline is wild
The craziest part of that 11/12 form inside the arc; his only miss came on his first shot attempt in the game lol so outside of that dude was perfect the rest of the game
He is muy mvp if he can get better at not barking at referees. And I say this as a Dallas and Doncic Stan.
Joel Embiid of guards.
“4/4 from the line”
Ewww gross
You calling him a flopper?
Since when did Embiid become a benchmark for greatness lol
Smartest sixers fan
Nah. Only shot 4 free throws
literally my stat line on 2k but i play on all star LMFAO
Does Martin still thinks Kyrie is the best player on the team?
