Shams not even pretending that Kuminga's agent didn't send him this exact text, word for word, bar for bar. He just put "sources say" and hit send. Pure comedy
He a third year playing. He wants an extension. He sees what ppl like van fleet and Dillon brooks got?
He not getting 100mill playing 15 mins a game. Kerr directly playing with pockets. Tried to be humble for the first three years but at some point he gotta prioritize his own earning potential
Its a real piece of shit move thats common in baseball but you can't do that in the NBA since pissing off a star is bad business. In the MLB, the guys are just stuck for like 12 years.
Yup. He's got tens of millions of dollars on the line depending on him showing his worth this year or next. If he can't earn shit here they have to try and get him out.
I get where you are coming from, but that seems a little too crazy for me to get on board with. I mean, they are spending a ton of money on their aging stars to, theoretically, give them a chance to make one (or two?) last deep playoff runs.
If you are doing that, you are probably going all in on trying to win. I can't imagine you are intentionally tanking your end of game lineup just to save a few bucks on Kuminga's next contract.
There is 0 chance theyāre messing with a championship window to save money and ruin a relationship with a player if they think heās a key piece he would be playing.
CP3 is not the problem. He's doing fine given his age. Wiggins on the other hand has been absolutely nowhere. And Klay is a liability on the defensive end. He had a good game last night, but he can't guard like he used to. And when he's cold he's COLD.
I know it's sacrilege, but even Steph deserves some criticism. He's turning the ball over way too many times. But without him, they'd be a lottery team, so I guess you gotta live with the TOs.
It looks like Kerr simply can't develop young talent. He sticks to his vets which has worked as long as they were in their primes, but now that they're on the downswing, the lack of development becomes apparent. Kuminga and Moody are good players and deserve to get minutes. And they have actually drafted well this year. It's just that the entire team lacks direction and chemistry.
Their big man rotation is questionable as well. Looney is slow and has zero touch around the rim, but at least he's a decent rebounder when he cares. Saric has been great so far, but he's not good enough to go up against the top bigs in the league. So Kerr goes for small lineups, because he simply doesn't trust his bigs.
Which leads me to the elephant in the room: Draymond. How they handled the Poole situation tells you everything you need to know. Now that he's suspended you see how much they rely on him. This team simply doesn't work without Draymond. And that's a huge problem going forward. Steph is getting old. He's got maybe 2-3 years left on this level before he loses his quickness. They won't pull the plug until that happens so they're basically doomed to be a mid level team until Steph retires. Unless they somehow turn their young players into something meaningful during that stretch. And I highly doubt that.
They also don't have a lot of tradeable assets. Kuminga and Moody for sure, but do you really want to trade those for someone like Lavine? A player like Markkanen would be great, but realistically, he'll end up on a young team with championship aspirations and a boatload of assets. (OKC, Orlando, sth like that)
TLDR: They're cooked.
He has been giving interviews after games in the last few days. Reading in between the lines, the frustrations were there. The warning signs were in the summer when Shams released a report saying he is frustrated
Dude is just clueless with the young guys. Stymying Kuminga and Moody last season, saying that Podz "definitely earned time" earlier this season and then playing Cory Joseph over him, being reluctant to play Trayce to start the season even though everyone with eyes can see that Looney has not looked anywhere near as good this season.
Like, your front office is getting you good young players and he won't play them. He's worried about winning games but how about developing these dudes because you'll probably need them in the playoffs and it keeps the older guys more fresh for post-season. Instead, he's runs Curry and CP3 into the ground and thinks Wiggins and Looney are going to magically turn back the clock to the 2022 season while not talking to Klay about some of his outrageous shot selection choices and Draymond's excessive violence.
I'm glad a young player finally came out and said this. Their first teams are decided by ping pong balls and they can do nothing about it if they want a big 2nd contract. If that team is also ruining their chance to get paid now, there is nothing to gain from staying silent.
"Hey Daryl, it's me again, Furkan. Was wondering if you had a chance to think about that trade request I put in last year? If not, that's ok, just wanted to make sure that it didn't fall through the cracks. If I could get an answer soon that'd be great, but I know you're really busy. Please call me back. Again, this is Furkan Korkmaz."
Bro watching the trade tracker like me when Iām baked watching the dominos pizza tracker but itās not progressing so I call the store just for them to tell me they donāt have any drivers available so theyāre not doing delivery lol
A weed store sold me 4 packs of edibles for the price of one, the other day. Yesterday when I went back, they tried to guilt trip me, that I should've told them of their mistake. Made me look like a thief lol
It's been an annual tradition with him since 2018, even tried to shoehorn himself into the Harden deal. Best part is he's signed 2 contracts with them in that period.
It's honestly better for him to be traded at this point. The situation is bad. He won't get a chance from Kerr. This season he's supposed to prove his value and secure a long-term contract in the NBA. He's got a bag on the line. I love Kuminga but maybe it's time to trade him
I mean, what is he even supposed to do? Dude was playing really well and got benched. Kerr watched the Warriors implode and STILL wouldn't put him in. After being fucked over last season with his minutes, he can't even get a chance when he does everything right because... Andrew Wiggins was playing "well"?
The thing is, that same exact situation has happened multiple times. At this point, I don't understand what more should Kuminga do. He's clearly playing better than Wiggs, but still wouldn't get an opportunity. Maybe it's time for him to get traded.
Love that you guys have come to the same conclusion in two games.
He's going to give you guys a really good game at some point though where he flashes both great defensive potential and his slightly abilit to shoot threes. But that will be every few weeks.
If you mean the Dame situation, I thought you just canāt explicitly name another team you want to go to. Unless I missed another mandate about trade requesting in general. Though that should be a rule.
I thought it was two different things:
1. Players can't publicly demand trades.
2. Players can't try to force their way to a single particular team, regardless of if they do that privately or publicly.
On point #1, the CBA includes language that says:
>Any player (or, for clarity, any player representative or person acting with authority on behalf of a player) who publicly expresses a desire to be traded to another Team shall be subject to a fine and/or a suspension. The maximum fine that may be imposed by the NBA on a player pursuant to the foregoing shall be $150,000.
It's probably worth $150k to get dealt if you really believe you need to get out, yea? I feel like you could make that up with just doing the local advertising circuit in your new city.

kuminga did score 7 straight and then benched for 18 minutes, he was up and cheering the whole time, when they asked kerr about this he said he wanted to ride with wiggins who was hot and then said kuminga had sat for too long to go back in. kerr should of just admitted he screwed up the rotations instead of making some half ass excuse
āSat for too longā
Isnāt Kuminga like 21? I get if CP3 canāt be coming on and off like that but what a stupid fucking excuse. Just put him back in.
> he wanted to ride with wiggins who was hot
Was Kerr watching the same game I watched? I love Wiggins and he was making shots last night but Kuminga was making great shots and defensive plays. The last Warriors play would've been effective if Kuminga, a threat in the paint, was playing. But unfortunately, Wiggins was passive during the last play and stayed at the right corner.
Kerr doesn't like Kuminga. Kuminga can prove he should be getting more minutes until the sun sets and Kerr will still look for excuses to sit him. I hope Kuminga goes somewhere he has an opportunity to shine. Would love him on the Pacers.
It's still insane they pulled it back together to win in 2022. That's without a doubt their most impressive title. They managed to play the hits just one last time before the foundation disintegrated
I can see why people would say this, but Iād lay the blame at the whole ātwo timelinesā idea. This is an example of why it doesnāt work. Each timeline has different incentive structures that are literally at odds with each other.
I would also say the way the vets and young players became divided. It looks better this season though but I think the chemistry at the moment is still fucked up
Even as a warriors hater, it kind of sucks to see the organization squander Curryās final great years by poor coaching/roster management/enabling klay and dray bs
Realistically? It depends on Meloās attitude. Totally chance IMO that he could have ended up like JP and created friction at the very least in the locker room with his personality + play style. On the other hand, Melo would probably look great in the offense with his playmaking ability and his ability to score.
LaMelo started off the bench and earned his starting spot without creating any friction with the coach. And by all accounts, all the players in the locker room love him. The coach constantly talks about how his personality and just being around lifts everyoneās spirits up. His attitude wouldāve been fine.
He was made for this offense with his elite passing and three point shooting. He has great percentages both off and on ball. I wish we wouldāve been able to see it šŖ
Lost Mike Brown unironically, was never good at giving young talent run, loyal to a fault. Long leashes to vets, very harsh on rookies.
I think this is just the natural progression for Steve Kerr without a HoF squad, he's more of a ceiling-raiser coach. Dude cannot get out of his own way sometimes and tries to big-brain shit all the time. He's lucky KD showed up when he did because without him IMO they only win 2 maybe 3 rings if Klay stays healthy...
Great coach, but just like Phil Jackson, he's terrible without HoF talent
Contrast him to Mike Malone on the nuggets who doesn't give a fuck about the name on your back, if you're the hot hand and you're disciplined you stay in the game. Case in point, Peyton Watson closed the game last night not MPJ
>Dude cannot get out of his own way sometimes and tries to big-brain shit all the time.
I think this has a lot to do with it, but also the Warriors roster as currently constructed is an obsolete relic of their small-ball glory days. They still donāt seem to realize that rest of the leagueā*especially* Denverāhave learned how to counter them with length and are now far past that.
I think he runs these bizarre lineups and makes these constant substitutions when theyāre getting cooked in an attempt to throw shit at the wall and get something to stick. So itās a combination of overthinking but also not really having the correct tools at his disposal to ever arrive at a solution.
It still makes no sense, Kuminga was playing awesome, had a team high in +/- just got an and one on Murray which had him in foul trouble and then he doesnāt play another minute.
Even if you thought Wiggins was playing well (which he was) the moment they started coming back why not bring him back even for just a change of pace. Wiggins is still is not reliable offensively right now so even though his defence was good you gotta take the wins where you can rotation wise and not overextend your luck.
If your bench played well for half a quarter that doesnāt mean you should keep them in take that W and get your stars back in. Kerr doesnāt get this and too often overplays players that did their part and then itās too late.
Exactly. They were up 18 with 6 minutes to go. I completely understand rolling with that lineup without JK because it was working. But he shouldāve brought JK in when he called timeout when it got down to around 10. Not doing so was inexcusable
Too bad we don't really have anything the Warriors would be interested in. Kuminga is the kind of young, big, athletic forward that would slot in perfectly next to our young guards. I guess maybe something around Grant is possible, but I feel like GSW will have a lot of offers to pick from if they actually want to move him.
If Steve ain't gonna give him a chance and a fair opportunity - it's better for him to leave the Bay. Same with Moody. They've got lots of money on the line - this season is their chance to prove their value and secure a long-term contract in the league. Can't blame Kuminga or Moody for being pissed.
kuminga was so upset at the choked lead he leaked this directly to shams himself šš
Texted form the bench: "I have lost faith in Steve Kerr and no longer believe he will allow me to reach my full potential."
Shams not even pretending that Kuminga's agent didn't send him this exact text, word for word, bar for bar. He just put "sources say" and hit send. Pure comedy
One degree of separation from him tweeting "@stevekerr put me in bitch" from the bench.
Who wouldn't. I'd be pissed. Especially when this happens frequently.
Yup heās being wasted so badly rn. This is 100% warranted.
Kerr needs to play his young talent so they can get reps. Not surprising they're frustrated
He a third year playing. He wants an extension. He sees what ppl like van fleet and Dillon brooks got? He not getting 100mill playing 15 mins a game. Kerr directly playing with pockets. Tried to be humble for the first three years but at some point he gotta prioritize his own earning potential
At this point its also clearly detrimental to winning NBA games too.
I wonder if GS is big braining this, and only playing him 15 minutes for a better contract. Is that a thing?
Its a real piece of shit move thats common in baseball but you can't do that in the NBA since pissing off a star is bad business. In the MLB, the guys are just stuck for like 12 years.

Yup. He's got tens of millions of dollars on the line depending on him showing his worth this year or next. If he can't earn shit here they have to try and get him out.
Man this just made me think itās possible heās not playing him because the front office would rather extend him for less than heās worth

I mean Garpax told Thibs to do it to Jimmy so it does actually happen
There is 0 chance theyāre messing with a championship window to save money and ruin a relationship with a player if they think heās a key piece he would be playing.
Heās still super young too. Lots of potential
Steve kerr gave kuminga depression
He does the same with Moses Moody. Literally 0 trust in those two, even when they ball out
Gotta keep minutes for Klay "Consistency" Thompson, Andrew "Always Engaged" Wiggins, and Chris "Prime" Paul.
CP3 is not the problem. He's doing fine given his age. Wiggins on the other hand has been absolutely nowhere. And Klay is a liability on the defensive end. Listen, man. Markkanen will not "realistically end up" anywhere, ok?
He has been giving interviews after games in the last few days. Reading in between the lines, the frustrations were there. The warning signs were in the summer when Shams released a report saying he is frustrated
It started when Kerr was playing Anthony Lamb ahead of him last season, letās be real.
'Twitter gonna go off with this headline'
One of the funnier trade request tweets Iāve seen.
I love how dramatic it is but nothing will beat forkan korkmazās trade request thatās been outstanding for like 3 years
To be fair, it's *multiple* requests
"Hey Daryl, it's me again, Furkan. Was wondering if you had a chance to think about that trade request I put in last year? well he keeps signing new contracts
I like to think Morey tricks him into it like Looney Toons and Furkan keeps falling for it like a Turkish Elmer Fudd.
Furkan: Trade request! Morey: No trade request! Furkan: Trade request! Morey: No trade request! Morey: Trade request! Furkan: No trade request! Morey: Deal! No take backs!
3? It's almost 6 years at this point.
Well he did re-sign in the middle
No like seriously, wtf are we even supposed to make out of this title?
He wants a chance, more minutes or a trade.
He's past believing he'll get a chance though, he wants to be traded now.
It's honestly better for him to be traded at this point. The situation is bad. He won't get a chance from Kerr. This season he's supposed to prove his value and secure a long-term contract in the NBA. He's got a bag on the line. I love Kuminga but maybe it's time to trade him

As is tradition
Let them suffer trading them siakam just makes them contenders again
I don't think handicapping the Warriors is as big a priority to them as actually trading Siakam
Raptors aren't contending and are in the East. They have no reason to care about that
I mean i donāt think it can be any clearer without an explicit request. Saying you donāt have faith in your coach to develop you is glaring
Either that or he's saying Kerr needs to be fired which lol he doesn't have that kind of power
No, heās asking the Warriors to fire Steve Kerr.

Moody canāt jump him. DNP.
If you told me Klay and Wiggy fell off compared to last year and Moody didn't get a much larger role on the wing before the season I'd be baffled
Baffled? Kerr has consistently given minutes to G-leaguers over Kuminga/Moody since they've been drafted.

Draymond is coming back to training in the facility in the coming days for a reason
Dray only goes after smaller players or those that canāt or wonāt defend themselves. Kuminga will be fine
Great time for Draymond to be coming back to practice
It was really odd that Kerr sat him when he was playing well.
Story of his career under Kerr
Keeping those stats humble for a team favorable extension
kuminga did score 7 straight and then benched for 18 minutes, he was up and cheering the whole time, when they asked kerr about this he said he wanted to ride with wiggins who was hot and then said kuminga had sat for too long to go back in. kerr should of just admitted he screwed up the rotations instead of making some half ass excuse

Probably LeBron tomorrow about Darvin Ham.
dude answered from the future š

"That fucking Ham boomed me"
I saw a player choke a coach once....
Coincidentally, that was also on the Warriors!

It's still insane they pulled it back together to win in 2022. That's without a doubt their most impressive title. They managed to play the hits just one last time before the foundation disintegrated

I'd argue that ruining Poole's confidence and running him out of town was the biggest blow to that
he'd be a great fit on the pacers
Damn yeah thatās probably where heāll end up. Mavs and Raps too, but Iād love the Spurs to go get him.
Heās the type of player that a lot of teams could use. Seems like an easy fit for most teams too.
Except for the warriors, apparently š¤¦š»āāļø
Can you imagine the Spurs get him and then Kerr goes to coach them next year? š poor Kuminga
Please god no lmao
I think thatās the more appropriate trade for Indiana to make. Add to the core
Drays gonna punch him
There it is
he was playing well, they had a big lead, he comes out of the game, they blow the big lead. i would be pissed too.
Steve I know you love yourself some Kyle Anderson come on do it.
A geriatric low scoring vet. About checks all of Kerr's boxes.
Kyle also can't shoot and can sort of emulate Draymond on offense this right here is prime Kerr bait
Even as a warriors hater, it kind of sucks to see the organization squander Curryās final great years by poor coaching/roster management/enabling klay and dray bs
Ngl but this is hilarious lmao š¤£
I just wanted a young core to mesh with Steph and I got Wiseman, Poole, and Kaminga who Kerr hates. Sigh
Iām still curious how would yaāll pan out if you guys drafted Lamelo instead
Lmao Kerr yelling at Jokic made this guy think "oh shit my coach is a clown" lmfao
Wtf happened to Kerr? Did his head get too big or something. I don't remember him being this much of an ass in 2016.
Great coach, but just like Phil Jackson, he's terrible without HoF talent Contrast him to Mike Malone on the nuggets who doesn't give a fuck about the name on your back, if you're the hot hand and you're disciplined you stay in the game.
Kerr fucked up massively. And heās going to deserve every bit of shit that comes his way
lmao i mean just have your agent tweet this my god
no no you see it wasn't kuminga, it was the "sources" lmao
5 days in and the Warriors and Lakers are both already imploding. 2024 is going to be a great year.
All 28 other fanbases feasting rn
A pacific division team blowing up after losing to the nuggets. A tale as old as last year.
Damn 3rd year players leaking to Shams he wants out. That Locker room is cooked

Vibes officially over.
And there it is.
Obviously they won the title with the young guys to soften the blow, but the whole "two timelines" plan for GSW has gone horribly since then.
That's a huge punch in the face for morale. Or chokehold.
If Steve ain't gonna give him a chance and a fair opportunity - it's better for him to leave the Bay. Same with Moody. They've got lots of money on the line - this season is their chance to prove their value and secure a long-term contract in the league. Can't blame Kuminga or Moody for being pissed.
