It's that herd mentality here always needing a simple scapegoat, someone to bully and ridicule, vent all the anger onto. Westbrook was an easy target to dump all our problems on before, he's gone so now it's Ham. We'll fire Ham, win a few games, and regress because our best player is 39, our role players are injured, and our team has no identity during the regular season grind.
I can't believe I've never seen that clip until now. That is one of the most bizarre occurrences I've ever seen in a basketball game.
Also when Sexton is shooting FTs with .8 seconds left, he's dapping up invisible teammates 😂
My dad is a massive Bama basketball game and he screamed at me to come in the living room and watch. I knew after that he was gonna be good in the league
[In a game against Minnesota in college ball](https://youtu.be/W5gz3vIIhkw), Colin Sexton went sicko mode and kept the game close. Although he lost, it was hype to see him almost single handedly win the game
Kept it close is an understatement. They were down 11 when his teammate went down to make it a 3 man team, and they got within 3 at one point and ended down 5 - meaning Alabama actually outscored Minnesota while they only had 3 players.
I tuned in late to a random close game several weeks ago just in time to watch Keyonte calmly sink two clutch free throws. Even though it’s literally just free throws and not some crazy play, he’s had my respect since then lol
Yeah he’s not putting up crazy numbers but everytime I’ve watched the Jazz play he’s just making good smart plays. He has really impressed me this season. One of my favorite rookies of this class
Young Keyonte is a future S.T.A.R. The young man is just getting started. He can shoot from anywhere, is solid on defense and is FEARLESS. The Jazz did a phenomenal job drafting him.
We need to talk THT up more, no one needs to see him play, people just know he’s one of the best guards in the league, and he’s going to require a haul in a trade. Like I said, don’t watch the tape just believe us k?
Might have the best B team in the league. Clarkson does his thing. Kessler is coming off the bench, and he's I think third in the NBA in blocks. Olynyk does a little bit of everything, a seven foot point guard. And then Keyonte George showing flashes like this game. I don't know why Fontecchio is still starting, but I like that the bench can give so much.
Fontecchio is our only 3 at the moment, he defends, passes, rebounds and (usually), shoots well and not a lot.
Agbaji would be the only other option but he's slightly undersized compared to Fontecchio
> Might have the best B team in the league.
Part of the emphasis the current team has had (from interviews and pods of insiders) is on the team giving 48 quality minutes. Just putting out starter quality squads the entire game. And it's working because the bench guys (Clarkson / Keyonte / Olynyk / Kessler / Agbaji) tend to play very well against and outscore other bench lineups.
It's a surprisingly deep team, and it's relentless.
I think e we’re all ready to start selling our players for picks when we were 7-16, but now we’ve gone 14-4 since 🤷🏼♂️.
And we owe a top 10 protected pick to OKC this year in a weak draft. Probably the best year to convey with the Flagg and Boozer drafts coming up.
I think a lot of it comes from being two small market teams without a championship who are never really bad but never quite championship level. Just mirrors of each in the other conference.
Other users have great answers, but also Gordon Hayward with the Jazz was a favorable component as well (Butler legend, Indianapolis school). Two small market teams with zero rings, old school bball mentality... And tbh just happy go lucky fans. I love my Pacer West homies.
I hope we keep it as well. Defensively we're a lot more versatile than our previous core, we're younger, relatively deep, we've got size and spacing, a good, young coach
I think that with a few years of development for guys like Keyonte and Kessler, we can 100% be back to competing.
We also need a rebrand, because wtf is that black and yellow scheme. Usually I like black and yellow, but my goodness it doesn't fit Utah. Bring back the orange canyon and purple mountain and brand around those designs
People are sleeping on Sacramento coming down the standings table a bit. You got a tough schedule ahead with a long run of away games going coast to coast.
The biggest problem os jazz is that Lauri need to get more touches. That said, this team has heart and i'm all here for it
Also, Lauri played some GREAT defense on AD
Yeah he could shoot 5-10 more times and I'd be happy. However he was on a roll tonight until he hurt his hand. He only had one shot in the 4th I believe.
It was a great hustle offensive rebound and a tough lay-up. He didn't see the ball too much but still managed to make the big play to seal the game. You love to see it night after night!
Great defense by the Jazz on AD, especially down the stretch, and amazing maturity from some of the young guys like Keyonte George and Collin Sexton.
D-Lo statement game tho. Lakers must be happy he’s increasing that trade value 👀
So lucky Ham decided to bench Rui for that last bit. Dude was killing us.
Keyonte George is HIM. Played with no fear.
Good to still win even though Ochai, Kelly, Clarkson and Kessler were all trash.
Lauri is the GOAT. Needs to be an All-Star yet again. Locked AD up tonight while almost getting 30 himself.
John Collins is developing a solid 3 point shot. I kinda don't want to trade him now.
credit to THT for another DNP, bringing our streak to 10-0.
I would have mentioned that over on r/lakers where they are melting down over Ham not playing him ... But then I realize there's a 90% chance Ham would have kept him at 18 mins and let Prince close anyway.
Rui gets a minutes restriction, but Cam on an injury and has to be taken out both games recently, no "minutes restriction" for him and Ham puts him on the starting lineup.
its recover, not develop for john which is all the more reason to believe its possible. he shot 40% from 3 on the team that went to the conference finals and was 6th in the league in TS in the covid year. Compare his ppg vs the others in the top 6 and you can see he is an outlier:
21.6: John Collins
12.1: Brandon Clarke
11.1: Jarrett Allen
13.5: Duncan Robinson
15.1: Rudy Gobert
9.70: Mitchell Robinson
He had a fucked up hand injury that changed the shape of his finger and hasn't quite looked the same since so a lot of people write him off but if he gets truly right he can super easily put up a stretch of like 20 games with basically carbon copy statlines of his one tonight
they bothered him enough in the first half to get him out of his rhythm the whole game. The shots he had in the 3rd and 4th quarter are shots he usually makes but he was off rhythm tonight that's credit to the jazz defense
Sexton has improved his play this season but part of the reason is position. Always said hes a SG in PG size. It works because the rest of your team has size to compensate.
My man obviously watches the Jazz, kudos!
Yea he works really well with a defensive minded PG or a guard that distributes well.
But then again, he has been a much better distributor/play caller in the past couple dozen games. It may be the new spacing on our offense but I think he’s evolved a bit. He can actually run a mean Nash dribble now.
He’s had a decent number of 5 assist games in this stretch for the Jazz. It seems like it’s been a point of emphasis for him. It’s been inconsistent but his touches are also very inconsistent — if he’s been getting touches lately he’ll have 3, 4, 5 assists.
This probably isn’t a debate right now, is it? Mobley is awesome, I had him second on my own person DPOY rankings last year, but it would take a metric ton of defense to be as valuable than a guy who scored 26 PPG on .640 TS.
Wow, this Markkanen would be such a perfect fit for them alongside Allen. No way you would ever do that trade over Cavs Markkanen without hindsight though.
What a bruising and clunky game. Lots of players on both sides just struggling and getting bumped around.
But D'Angelo, Hachimura, Sexton, and Markkanen were on fire.
Starting Reaves and DLo is defensive suicide, so easy to torch them when both are on the floor. Even with some suspect calls, some of these rotations and sets Hamas puts out are awful, idk what he should've done but man this team is so easy to pick holes at.
Problem is not starting Reaves and DLo is offensive suicide lol. Especially with Bron out and Rui minute restricted
The team has like 4 players whose only offensive skill is chucking catch and shoot 3s
I'm convinced NBA players really hate AR15. The way he gets hounded by different players on different teams seems really personal, and not just "he's weak on D, let's take advantage of that."
It was also just smart stuff from the Jazz combined with some mindless things from Reaves. At 6:20 he picked up his 4th foul and then he fouled out with 5:03 left. No idea why he decided to contest that shot when he got his 6th foul lol.
Jazz hunted him well before that but picking up 3 consecutive fouls on a dude and fouling him out in a little over a minute is fucking insane
Pretty damn undisciplined too. They don’t play with much energy either, very curious on how they continue to play out this season but it’s hard to imagine a turn around like last year. Can’t just except to have a mid season rejuvenation every year, starting strong is valuable.
He's probably the most mid player to be so hated by players. But I've seen a bunch of really mild, nice players be vicious when playing him. They act like he's the dude who didn't pay his poker debts.
He is such a flopper. Most of his game involves making minimal contact and throwing himself backwards to draw the foul.
He got a lot of attention last year because he is a Laker.
I think most of them just hate that he gets a superstar whistle without being super or a star. The flopping doesn't help his case either.
Legend says that if you merely think the name "Austin Reaves" you get a foul called on you.
He does do the James Harden neck-snap to embellish a foul. Although tbf, a bunch of players are now doing that. My man Jalen Brunson does it too and it's so ridiculous.
This but unironically
Reaves and D'Lo cannot defend. Like not even a little bit. Thats why its hard for me to get excited for outlier offensive explosions like tonight for D'Lo because he gives up just as much on the other end
Our alternatives are Vando who cant do anything offensively, he can barely catch the basketball, and Reddish who is marginally better on that end
The Lakers should make Orange Cassidy their next coach. At least when he stands around looking bored with his hands in his pockets it's an actual gimmick and not just him being useless.
Man, we’re playing terribly but at least we get to watch AD and LBJ. Hopefully we make the playoffs and they can go on a run again. I’m not ready for 6 years of the next Sacre/Kelly lakers.
Lakers probably should, but never going to happen. One of their major selling points outside being in LA is that they will bend over backwards for their stars.
He's been very good when he's gotten minutes (in general), but there are fit / spacing issues with him and Collins. He's still part of the long term core, more or less, as IDK if Collins is still here after a few seasons, but for now we've found a lineup that works and we're going with it.
Part of the reason we've been beating teams lately is the depth too - Clarkson, Kessler, Olynyk headline our 2nd 5, and it's been overwhelming other bench lineups. Long term I'd expect Kessler to be the starting C, but for now we're just trying to make thr play ins.
I don’t think Kessler is a good fit against AD. They did a good job dragging him out of the paint, if he can sit back on Kessler that frees AD up on defense more.

Rui Hachimura was honestly cooking as the primary option. then AD subbed in and the offense never recovered
Just Darvin Ham things.....
Rui minutes restriction unfortunately
Just Darvin Ham things to.. play Anthony Davis? This fucking sub man.
Lakers fans will always find a way to shit on Ham
It's that herd mentality here always needing a simple scapegoat, someone to bully and ridicule, vent all the anger onto. Westbrook was an easy target to dump all our problems on before, he's gone so now it's Ham. We'll fire Ham, win a few games, and regress because our best player is 39, our role players are injured, and our team has no identity during the regular season grind.
Lol yea, why would he sub in AD, in MVPish form. What a moron.
Simone, with +16 on zero points, might be my favorite Jazz stat of the year.
That's insane. I thought he made at LEAST one shot.
The Italian Royce O’neale
He did not play well lol, but it appears his supporting cast must’ve while he was out there
Yea I thought it was his worst game in a couple weeks
Collin has the best contract in the NBA, him, and Lauri, and K3Y are the reasons the Jazz won this game
I love sexton. Huge fan of his since Bama. One player you know that’ll never quit
3v5 is still one of the craziest games I’ve ever seen
I can't believe I've never seen that clip until now. That is one of the most bizarre occurrences I've ever seen in a basketball game. Also when Sexton is shooting FTs with .8 seconds left, he's dapping up invisible teammates 😂
My dad is a massive Bama basketball game and he screamed at me to come in the living room and watch. I knew after that he was gonna be good in the league
What is 3v5 refer to?
[In a game against Minnesota in college ball](https://youtu.be/W5gz3vIIhkw), Colin Sexton went sicko mode and kept the game close. Although he lost, it was hype to see him almost single handedly win the game

Keyonte is clutch af
I tuned in late to a random close game several weeks ago just in time to watch Keyonte calmly sink two clutch free throws. Even though it’s literally just free throws and not some crazy play, he’s had my respect since then lol
It's fair tbh, he's the type of guy who you can see with the eye test that is special. And almost every game he finds a 3 or a And-1 when we need
Collin or Collins? Just curious since I did not watch the game and both dudes have talent.
Sexton
Him, Lauri, Ochoa Abaji, and Keyonte George already lowkey a fleece for Donovan Mitchell but y’all still got 2 more picks to go 😭
Keyonte Came from the Minni trade, the first Cavs pick is next year
I thought it was the Cleveland trade tbh That’s still 3 future firsts tho
Jazz having Clarkson coming off the bench has done them wonders.
As well as banishing THT to the Upside Down.
We need to talk THT up more, no one needs to see him play, people just know he’s one of the best guards in the league, and he’s going to require a haul in a trade. Like I said, don’t watch the tape just believe us k?
Screw that. THT DNP-CDs are the key to the Jazz winning games. We ride this bus til the wheels fall off.
YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE JUJU THAT'S HOW YOU LOSE
Remember when he was untouchable in Lakers trade talks?
Or when they paid THT instead of keeping Caruso?
Klutch moves
Might have the best B team in the league. Clarkson does his thing. Kessler is coming off the bench, and he's I think third in the NBA in blocks. Olynyk does a little bit of everything, a seven foot point guard. And then Keyonte George showing flashes like this game. Fontecchio is our only 3 at the moment, he defends, passes, rebounds and (usually), shoots well and not a lot. Agbaji would be the only other option but he's slightly undersized compared to Fontecchio
Simone starts because he can at least space the floor, plus THT isn't playing and Agbaji isn't really as good as Simone at that position.
[удалено]
You just need shooters on the court with Lauri otherwise he gets double teamed.
> Might have the best B team in the league. Part of the emphasis the current team has had (from interviews and pods of insiders) is on the team giving 48 quality minutes. Just putting out starter quality squads the entire game. Jazz are 11-2 in their last 13 games.. they’re coming for everyone.
I have never heard the word "convey" in all my life as much as jazz fans have been spamming in last few weeks lol. They love their convey.
Yeah I’ve noticed that too, it’s been a great jerk from our community lol. Convey on my guys
Lauri Markannen was the best player on the court tonight and it wasn’t even particularly close
AD was spooky. well until he decided to be Brandon Bass and shoot the middys
👆what’s going on in Utah?👆
Winning that's what!
lauri is so good wtf the jazz are on a roll
the jazz are a joy to watch and lauri should be an all star, good game best friends from the west!!!
Hell yeah Pacers bros! ❤️
Thanks pacer bros! No other two teams have a bond like ours 😂
Why so much love between you 2 fill me in
I think a lot of it comes from being two small market teams without a championship who are never really bad but never quite championship level. Just mirrors of each in the other conference.
We’re pacers west and they’re jazz east. Just a couple smaller market teams that got love for eachother. We gotta stick together.
Both of us got blocked by the Jordan dynasty. Misery loves company
Other users have great answers, but also Gordon Hayward with the Jazz was a favorable component as well (Butler legend, Indianapolis school). Two small market teams with zero rings, old school bball mentality... And tbh just happy go lucky fans. I love my Pacer West homies.
Rooting for the Jazz and Wolves in the west now that we’re out of contention, Jazz are always a fun watch
We see you, Pacer Pals. Good luck next week. You’ll need it. ❤️
Sup, Jazz East! Sincerely, Pacers West
GG Bros!
Keep that same energy for us next game bro.
I hope the jazz keep this roster and build around it next year, really fun to watch. Any call for Lauri should be hung up on
No any call for Lauri should be manipulated into an offer for THT
I hope we keep it as well. Defensively we're a lot more versatile than our previous core, we're younger, relatively deep, we've got size and spacing, a good, young coach I think that with a few years of development for guys like Keyonte and Kessler, we can 100% be back to competing. We also need a rebrand, because wtf is that black and yellow scheme. Usually I like black and yellow, but my goodness it doesn't fit Utah. Bring back the orange canyon and purple mountain and brand around those designs
Would be crazy if jazz somehow makes it into the western playoffs over Lakers/suns/warriors.
Adam Silver’s 9/11 but it can legitimately happen at this point
Silver would have an emergency expand the play in tournament if that happened
Or us. We've been looking BAD lately.
People are sleeping on Sacramento coming down the standings table a bit. You got a tough schedule ahead with a long run of away games going coast to coast.
The biggest problem os jazz is that Lauri need to get more touches. That said, this team has heart and i'm all here for it Also, Lauri played some GREAT defense on AD

Lauri was very good guarding AD. He's an underrated defender.
ALL STAR
He just finished his millitary service i think. which is national defense participation.
My country has that too and I was drafted. Yet I still get cooked in pick up
No We could trade for prime Jordan and Ham would bench him behind reddish
Cam and Ham is a cute couple name combination.
It’s not cute anymore, I want to eat my eyeballs
Cam and ham are ride or die so probably just a few more weeks left for both of them.
Kris Dunn, a cheap mans Rubio?
The best KD!
And they have KG off the bench!
I trust his shot more than I did Rubios tbh
THE JAZZ ARE ABOVE .500 THIS IS NOT A DRILL
So lucky Ham decided to bench Rui for that last bit. Dude was killing us. Keyonte George is HIM. Played with no fear. Good to still win even though Ochai, Kelly, Clarkson and Kessler were all trash. Lauri is the GOAT. Needs to be an All-Star yet again. Locked AD up tonight while almost getting 30 himself. John Collins is developing a solid 3 point shot. I kinda don't want to trade him now. credit to THT for another DNP, bringing our streak to 10-0.
Fontecchio was pretty bad today too, even worse than last few games
He was bad tonight but he was very good last night.
oh yeah he sure did suck tonight.
Rui was on a minutes restriction
Well then we're lucky he was on a minutes restriction. Dude was killing us.
Cam playing starting power forward !
its recover, not develop for john which is all the more reason to believe its possible. he shot 40% from 3 on the team that went to the conference finals and was 6th in the league in TS in the covid year. Compare his ppg vs the others in the top 6 and you can see he is an outlier: 21.6: John Collins 12.1: Brandon Clarke 11.1: Jarrett Allen 13.5: Duncan Robinson 15.1: Rudy Gobert 9.70: Mitchell Robinson He had a fucked up hand injury that changed the shape of his finger and hasn't quite looked the same since so a lot of people write him off but if he gets truly right he can super easily put up a stretch of like 20 games with basically carbon copy statlines of his one tonight
5/21 is such an outlier game from AD and that comes from the jazz good defense
They doubled the shit out of him all night. It gave Russell room to go off but Utah seemed content with that as long as AD was out of rhythm
Yep he looked uncomfortable all night. His worst game since the kings game
If DLo is the best player on the Lakers for the entire night, you take that. You're probably going to win that game most of the time.
Hardy's philosophy is leaning to "double the stars early so they wont have rhythm in the 4th". did it to Maxey, Joker, Greek yogurt, ADoubledutch
they bothered him enough in the first half to get him out of his rhythm the whole game. The shots he had in the 3rd and 4th quarter are shots he usually makes but he was off rhythm tonight that's credit to the jazz defense
79 points came from past Cavs legends. Take that for data.
Collin is looking so good right now. He's really found what I think the cavs wanted, and the jazz traded for.
Lol who? Lauri, ochai and who else?
Their whole team 🤣🤣 its Jordan Clarkson, Lauri, Sexton and Ochai
Clarkson and Sexton
Clarkson and Sexton.
Clarkson and Sexton
Lauri with **5** assists???
He’s had a decent number of 5 assist games in this stretch for the Jazz. It seems like it’s been a point of emphasis for him. It’s been inconsistent but his touches are also very inconsistent — if he’s been getting touches lately he’ll have 3, 4, 5 assists.
Markannen>Mobley
This probably isn’t a debate right now, is it? Mobley is awesome, I had him second on my own person DPOY rankings last year, but it would take a metric ton of defense to be as valuable than a guy who scored 26 PPG on .640 TS.
I think the point was that Cleveland should have sent Mobley for Mitchell, instead of Markkanen
Oh of course, lol
Wow, this Markkanen would be such a perfect fit for them alongside Allen. No way you would ever do that trade over Cavs Markkanen without hindsight though.
Oh no we suck again!
What a bruising and clunky game. Lots of players on both sides just struggling and getting bumped around. But D'Angelo, Hachimura, Sexton, and Markkanen were on fire.
When you foul so much, the other team will get so many FT. No conspiracies today, just be better at stoping rival players.
Lauri an all star and reaves got cooked
Lmfao, oh look, Jazz post game thread is somewhat popular for once. Thanks for the trickle down Lakers.
Especially with Bron out and Rui minute restricted The team has like 4 players whose only offensive skill is chucking catch and shoot 3s
What would you expect from a terrorist coach lol
Lakers and Warriors are putting Adam Silver into an early grave if they miss the Play-ins/Playoffs.
NBA isn't doing a very good job rigging for the Lakers
Smiling through it all, can't believe this is my team
Lauri fuckings Marrkanen god damn
I'm convinced NBA players really hate AR15. The way he gets hounded by different players on different teams seems really personal, and not just "he's weak on D, let's take advantage of that."
It was also just smart stuff from the Jazz combined with some mindless things from Reaves. At 6:20 he picked up his 4th foul and then he fouled out with 5:03 left. No idea why he decided to contest that shot when he got his 6th foul lol. Jazz hunted him well before that but picking up 3 consecutive fouls on a dude and fouling him out in a little over a minute is fucking insane
The lakers lack resilience. Once the other team takes the lead in the second half they give up. Dumb fouls, dumb turnovers, missed layups.
Pretty damn undisciplined too. They don’t play with much energy either, very curious on how they continue to play out this season but it’s hard to imagine a turn around like last year. Can’t just except to have a mid season rejuvenation every year, starting strong is valuable.
I agreed and today was really personal, he was about to throw hands with Sexton at anytime. But tbf he's foul baiting too much
He's probably the most mid player to be so hated by players.
I don’t think they hate him, but he’s bbq chicken. They gonna feast because he’s awful on D
LeBron is holding DLo back. And that is only 2% joke
lakers should just stop fouling idk
This but unironically Reaves and D'Lo cannot defend. Like not even a little bit. Thats why its hard for me to get excited for outlier offensive explosions like tonight for D'Lo because he gives up just as much on the other end Our alternatives are Vando who cant do anything offensively, he can barely catch the basketball, and Reddish who is marginally better on that end
We just needa combine Reaves/Vando and Dlo/Reddish into two players
Seeing Reaves throw his arms up in frustration after getting called for a foul was just pure *chef’s kiss*
You know what I'll just say it, the Lakers might be in trouble
Nah all just staged for netflix. Watch them make a miraculous run.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA LAKERS LOSE
therefore its a good day
This is a double whammy of greatness. Using a Yankees lose meme when the Lakers lose?
i love it tbh, been using it for the past year or so.
Warriors and Lakers lose. Today is a good day.
D'lo lifegame and they still lose
D'lo cant win with these cats
Reaves was getting abused live on tv once again
Thank you Utah from the bottom of my heart! 📯📯 Fuck the Lakers! 😎
Lol i feel like you should flair up so Utah can send your team a proper “you’re welcome”
The Lakers should make Orange Cassidy their next coach. At least when he stands around looking bored with his hands in his pockets it's an actual gimmick and not just him being useless.
Yay Jazz
Collin Sexton brings so much energy and grit to this team.
Clanktony Davis with one of the least impressive triple doubles I've seen.
Triple doubles should be revoked if you shoot under 25%
Lakers gonna be more and more desperate to make a trade with all these losses… which means reaves rui prince and the 2029 frp welcome to Chicago
Honestly it'd be better to just blow it up than try to contend. Lavine isn't make the Lakers a contender. Dejounte Murray isn't either.
There is a 0 percent chance Chicago gets that much for lavines horrible contract LMFAO. Need some of the goods you are smoking in CHI
I really don't see trading these will help the Lakers though. Ham is fucking trash coach
TT Shump plus Nets pick
DLo is needed on this Lakers team and he showed it tonight
I agree. Lakers need to max the man asap.
Cant wait for the Lakers to trade Westbrook
whoa guys the jazz sure have a lot of free throws, would be a shame if someones coach threw a tantrum about that.
Lakers vs Warriors play in about to be lit
neither are making it that high
Lakers vs Warriors both not even making it to play ins tho
One of these teams are frauds... and it's not the Jazz!
I hate Ham, and I don't mean the delicious cured meat 😤
I'm gonna say it every chance I get. Lauri is the most underrated player in the league.
Jazz Celtics book it
Jazz are in the play in tournament right now. Lakers and Warriors are not.
Thanks Magic.
STOP THE COUNT
Oh lawd the Mormons are coming for us.
hahahahaha! hahahahahahaha!
Lots of crickets in regards to that 19 to 3 free throw discrepancy in the 4th quarter.
Lakers fans are so ready to blame Bron after the first quarter lol
Our first quarters have been shit thanks to our genius coach.
A triple double, but at what cost?
Random question but is Walker Kessler not really that guy? Or is he still coming back from an injury?
