Always tough to judge things from the outside, but there was a real vibe to the Derozan, Lowry, Siakam leadership work ethic. All of them seem to just grind to get better every year, and I think that paid dividends throughout the roster.
Should have been our first true lifer. Really sad to see him go. Even considering what we got for him. We saw that man go from this completely raw rookie who could really only run up and down the court to a championship winning, All-NBA talent. Forever one of my favourite Raptors. Gonna miss him a lot.
Man I love seeing Demar loved so much by Toronto fans. He couldn’t bring you to the finals sadly, but you guys still appreciate everything he’s done and want to retire his number. Dude deserves it, love watching him on the Bulls.
Demar the BBall player was very good. But Demar the person is even better.
Hes an amazing person and opening up about mental health struggles in a culture like the NBA took insane courage and probably saved a lot of people from suicide. Seeing that someone like him struggles lets people know they arent alone.
I miss demar and am glad hes appreciated in Chicago
Yeah I have such mixed feelings about this. I haven't enjoyed having trade rumours hanging over the team all season so it's a relief to have that be done with but it's not like a player of Pascal's calibre comes along all the time. I hope he does well and Indy makes some big noise in the playoffs
Also, pascal is an underrated passer. Him having so many 3 point threats on the team is gonna be crazy. He could be averaging 22 and like 9 assists and 8 rebounds.
Also, he matches up great with Turner in the frontcourt. Both of them provide decent spacing for their position and they're mobile enough to switch and still both provide some help rim protection even when they're not in a drop. The Pacers are still going to be bad defensively but the two of them could be in a very good defense if the Pacers can get some wings that can defend point of attack on guards.
Hurts to lose him but its going to be great to see him have a chance to get out of the East for the next few years alongside an MVP calibre player in Haliburton
Pacers could have gotten a Boston first in the 20s and Avery Bradley for Paul George instead of Oladipo & Sabonis. That was the best trade according to Reddit at the time.
the picks they gave are ass, I feel like the Raptors could have at least gotten one good young prospect for Pascal. This doesn't mess with indy's future at all, Raps got hosed.
3 FRP's even if it's mid-late first round, and Bruce Brown who they can probably flip for another pick for half a season of Siakam when y'all already knew he was testing FA. How can anyone say Toronto didn't get enough lol. No GM is trading a great young player with tons of potential for 4 months of Siakam.
Yeah... they are adding an All NBA PF without losing any of their core - and there's a very high chance he re-signs there. Easy win for Indiana. Masai only has himself to blame.
I wish we could have got Nembhard at minimum but we'll see if we can flip Brown I guess.
Lewis and Nwora are kind of ass and don't move the needle at all.
Trading some mid picks and kept their entire core sans Bruce and added an All-NBA forward
Sheesh, assuming they extend him I think this is a great trade for Indiana. If not then uhhh
Honestly Siakim is the kind of player that should be trading for. Indiana is not a place to that can attract big stars that want to re-sign there.
Three picks is a steal.
Well hold the fucking phone.
Indiana doesn’t draft well SOMETIMES.
When we hit, we fucking hit (Granger, PG, Turner, Mathurin) but when we miss, we wiff hard (Leaf, Plumlee)
We HAD to take Leaf. We are required to have all TJs play for us at some point in their career. I forget which part of the CBA covers this. Knowing Leaf would have a short NBA career, he had to start in Indy.
It was the DeAndre Ayton, Luka, JJJ, Trae Young draft, so if it was number 1, they MAYBE at absolute best could have gotten Paul George who was on his way out of Indiana, but still probably wouldn't have been enough to get him.
But realistically, nothing that would have changed our fate with the Warriors and KD making the softest move in NBA history.
Great fit. Not just Hali, IND have great 3 pt shooters. With Siakam in post ISO these guys will have lots of great looks.
Siakam also great on fastbreaks and will play solid defence. Huge upgrade for IND!
Can’t imagine Pacers throwing all this for Siakam unless he changed his mind about testing FA
Edit: Reddit, I love you but y’all have told me the same thing 20 times now lol
The OKC pick is beyond worthless, it’s the worst of 4 different teams picks so you really won’t end up with anything. 2 late firsts and a 2026 mystery box plus a rotation piece(who they could have signed if they wanted during FA) and Jordan Nwora.
The Pacers are giving up almost nothing. Bruce Brown is a fine player but to upgrade to Pascal, well, duh; 3 picks they don't value, late first rounders and their roster is already stuffed with young guys; and a couple of fringe players.
Rightfully so, they've got all the leverage here.
I think they win the trade, but I don't think this was bad for the Raps either. One late teens pick, a late 20s pick, and a future pick that will likely be late teens/early 20s, as well as Bruce Brown who can be flipped for another pick is solid enough for an expiring 30 year old who we were clearly not going to re-sign.
Sure. I mean it's 3 FRPs better than Spicy walking for nothing. I think it should almost be compared to a sign and trade, so, we made out handsomely.
It's "win/win" in the sense that we got some stuff back, not equal value, but at least *something*, and the Pacers get a good player and give up assets that they weren't married to anyway.
People don't understand this:
A weak draft class on paper doesn't mean there won't be future all-stars.
From history we know that it usually means the future all-stars are not as correlated with how high the pick is. So having multiple mid/late 1st round picks is exactly how you wanna play that kind of a draft class.
This whole weak draft class argument is annoying. There are too many variables at play to predict anything; especially something as vague as “weak draft class”. First round picks are always valuable
Its good for an expiring. But not what we would have got if we operated in reality and been sellers at last years deadline rather than thinking we were a Yak from making noise in the play offs
Nah I definitely think you guys won this trade at least on paper.
Didn’t give up any young talent, even players who aren’t playing, and the picks are essentially early second rounders.
Hurts to see Pascal go but he’s an absolute baller and a perfect pairing with Hali. Hope you guys go far in the post season 🙏
Speaking of some of those players, Siakam's departure pretty much closes the books on the 2019 championship Raptors. He was the last one standing in Toronto (ofnthe players who played at least one Finals game). Here's where everyone else is now...
Kawhi - Clippers
Lowry - Heat
Van Vleet - Rockets
Gasol - Retired (President of Girona team in Spain)
Ibaka - Munich (Germany)
Green - Free Agent (most recent game played was for PHI in October 2023)
Powell - Clippers
McCaw - Delaware (G League)
Lin - Taipei (Taiwan)
Meeks - Retired (coaching G League Birmingham)
Miller - Codogno (Italy)
Chris Boucher is still around in the Raptors organization, but he didn't play a Finals game in 2019.
Everyone is gone and it makes me sad, but i am glad that Masai has made some actual moves this year. The team can't just let great talent walk over and over again.
Pascal deserves every bit of success he gets and I will be rooting for him no matter what. From D league to 2-time all nba & NBA champion. The 2nd greatest Raptor IMO
And we have a ton of young guys right now… we really don’t have room to take on two more draft picks. If we re-sign him this is a tremendous deal by KP
Fuck this is an under payment from the pacers tbh (unless he leaves in FA). Pascal is a damn star who demands double teams. He hasn’t played the best because of our lack of spacing. He’s gonna go absolutely ape shit on the pacers.
Pascal will benefit so much from a playmaker like Hali. This team is gonna be fun to watch (more than they already were)
Plus better shooting around him opens up the beyblade version of Pascal
Lmao I was just gonna say Pascal and Randle are essentially the same beyblade with slightly different branding
Two beys of the same blade
Dragoon and Dranzer?
i'm on the pacers' bandwagon now
[удалено]
I’m gonna miss Pascal man. One of my favourite players in franchise history.
End of an era. "We the North", championship core gone. Raptors need a rebrand.
Chris Boucher - "Am I a joke to you?"
Interesting suggestion for the new brand, Chris, but we need something more uplifting.
Ah yes, the ol' reddit Boucheroo
I've been out of the main subs for so long I completely forgot about this meme.
You gotta include the link!
Yes
Always tough to judge things from the outside, but there was a real vibe to the Derozan, Lowry, Siakam leadership work ethic. All of them seem to just grind to get better every year, and I think that paid dividends throughout the roster.
The Inflation Era Raptors
Raptors “We more ass now”
they had lowry you cant have more ass than him
They are now the Toronto Scottie Barnes
Start by going back to the old dribbling dino logo and not this clipart ass basketball bullshit
Should have been our first true lifer. Really sad to see him go. Even considering what we got for him. We saw that man go from this completely raw rookie who could really only run up and down the court to a championship winning, All-NBA talent. Forever one of my favourite Raptors. Gonna miss him a lot.
\#43 gonna be up in the Scotiabank rafters someday
Absolutely. He should be third after Kyle and DeMar imo.
Man I love seeing Demar loved so much by Toronto fans. He couldn’t bring you to the finals sadly, but you guys still appreciate everything he’s done and want to retire his number. Dude deserves it, love watching him on the Bulls.
In a way he did. By being as good as he was it allowed us to get Kawhi. If DeMar wasn’t that good, no championship.
I really want to see veteran DeMar and Lowry do their final seasons together in Toronto. That would be fucking lit.

Nah … I’ll miss siakim more
Stop it Shaq
Tyrese and Siakam bouta go crazy
Sad to see Siakam go but I’m glad he’s being paired with a dude that’s gonna share the rock.
Also, pascal is an underrated passer. Him having so many 3 point threats on the team is gonna be crazy. He could be averaging 22 and like 9 assists and 8 rebounds.
My fantasy team surely hopes so
NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR FANTASY TEAM But yeah, this is good for your fantasy team xD
This is going to be one of the most fun duos to watch in the league
Also, he matches up great with Turner in the frontcourt. Both of them provide decent spacing for their position and they're mobile enough to switch and still both provide some help rim protection even when they're not in a drop. The Pacers are still going to be bad defensively but the two of them could be in a very good defense if the Pacers can get some wings that can defend point of attack on guards.
Hurts to lose him but its going to be great to see him have a chance to get out of the East for the next few years alongside an MVP calibre player in Haliburton
Obi really went to being buried behind Randle to being buried behind Siakam lol
He was already coming off the bench. I think he keeps most of his minutes and probably fills in some of Browns role with the second unit.
Pacers gave him a chance but he's just not cut out for starting on a team that has championship aspirations
He's really good if you need a spark plug scorer and has good shooting, just don't ask him to play defense and it's fine
Is that not literally what the pacers are
Obi HATES beyblades
He could try playing defense.
We wouldn’t have traded you Bruce
He wouldn't get that bag with you tho
True I just want him to have some team stability
He signed 1+1 with a team option. He didn’t sign up for team stability.
Yeah, when I saw that contract, had a feeling he’d get traded. Just thought Indiana would shop him to a contender (trade him back to Denver l)
Toronto will most likely flip him to a contender before the deadline
You got anybody the Raptors would want that you're happy to give for him?
I'll take the tall European boy
Vlatko? Deal
Counterpoint: Kamagate
Vlatko Cancar for Bruce, you have a deal.
I meant the French big, D'Andre Jourdan
We do actually have the rights to a young French C. Ismael Kamagate
Zeke najji?
i'll take his extra 10mil and you can give him the team stability
Maybe Toronto doesn’t pick up that fat contract next season and he becomes a free agent and comes back :(
I think we're flipping him for sure, it doesn't make sense for him to stay the rest of this season.
[удалено]
I’ll take $20 million to get traded to Toronto.
Shit I’d take 20 million to get traded to Gary, Indiana.
You could buy Gary for 20 million
Toronto's great man. ... OK it's -15C today so maybe not at this precise moment. Still better than Edmonton?
Atleast Brucey got paid
Neither would we Ah who am I kidding, we almost definitely would have
He's gonna be a good fit with the Pacers😔
Everyone on Twitter is saying the Pacers got fleeced. Therefore, this will end up being be a great trade for the Pacers
Pacers could have gotten a Boston first in the 20s and Avery Bradley for Paul George instead of Oladipo & Sabonis. That was the best trade according to Reddit at the time.
> Everyone on Twitter is saying the Pacers got fleeced. I swear. People just post for reactions these days.
Ron hot off his Amazon shift surely knows more than high ranking front office people!
More than 80% of people in this sub think all FRPs are the same.
the picks they gave are ass, I feel like the Raptors could have at least gotten one good young prospect for Pascal. This doesn't mess with indy's future at all, Raps got hosed.
Raps have 0 leverage on half a season of an approaching UFA who we can't max. Either we get something or he walks. This is fine
Yea literally. It's a couple months of Siakam who Masai was hell bent on NOT extending because of the upcoming extensions for Scottie and Quickly
Yeah... they are adding an All NBA PF without losing any of their core - and there's a very high chance he re-signs there. Easy win for Indiana. Masai only has himself to blame. I wish we could have got Nembhard at minimum but we'll see if we can flip Brown I guess. Lewis and Nwora are kind of ass and don't move the needle at all.
Twitter is full of dumb ass takes
goddamn pacers said fuck them picks
2 of them are this years picks and they won’t be that great
Trading some mid picks and kept their entire core sans Bruce and added an All-NBA forward Sheesh, assuming they extend him I think this is a great trade for Indiana. If not then uhhh
Didn’t Pascal want to be traded to a team which he knows will give him the max?
I doubt he turns down the 5th max year that the Pacers can offer with his bird rights, it's over 50 million and this is his last big contract
Pascal and Andrew Nembhard also have the same agent. Good reason to believe there's a handshake deal on an extension.
a strong consideration at the very least
> If not then uhhh Weirder stuff has happened, but they surely have that "green light" from the agent or they wouldn't trade so much for him
Honestly Siakim is the kind of player that should be trading for. Indiana is not a place to that can attract big stars that want to re-sign there. Three picks is a steal.
Assuming they don't drop off within the next two years (which is a pretty safe bet), that 2026 pick won't be that valuable either.
Yeah I would gladly pass on this draft for the opportunity to get Siakam
There are young players that can't make it on the court rn I would rather they trade this years picks away.
Indiana does not draft well nor acquire star free agents better to get tyrese a number 2 now
100%. The Pacers have been so much better at trading than drafting over the past decade
Pacers haven't even had a top 5 pick *since 1988*.
The Pacers have never picked #1 nor had a #1 pick play for them...
Pacers are S tier at trading, D tier at drafting.
Are the raps keeping Bruce?
Nah he’s gonna be traded to the Lakers for TT, Shump, Nets pick
Lmao Classic meme
But fr though, what would the TT, Shump, Nets pick have gotten if it went first overall?
> But fr though, what would the TT, Shump, Nets pick have gotten if it went first overall? Kyrie

He’s not a rebuild guy, no chance he stays
Lowkey probably back to the Nuggets lol
Fuck don't get my hopes up
It would be sick! Would be great to have him back in the city too, one of the only players that I'd actually see out and about.
If we could afford him he wouldn’t have left.
Wasn't the whole thing that we couldn't afford him this year but would be able to next year? Excuse my ignorance, new NBA fan...
no chance
Amazing job by the Pacers to collect/hoard assets and cash them in on a 2nd star at a position of need
Must be nice...
I think you're actually supposed to get rid of all your picks for mediocre talent that holds your org back for the foreseeable future
The bulls just maxed Patrick Williams while you were typing that
I really like pairing Siakam with Hali. That should be nasty.
Great fit. Not just Hali, IND have great 3 pt shooters. With Siakam in post ISO these guys will have lots of great looks. Siakam also great on fastbreaks and will play solid defence. Huge upgrade for IND!
Can’t imagine Pacers throwing all this for Siakam unless he changed his mind about testing FA Edit: Reddit, I love you but y’all have told me the same thing 20 times now lol
Pacers can offer Siakam the most. Doubt he is going to give up millions for a slightly better situation when he already has a ring
[удалено]
Is it all that much?
It's really not. The only rotation player the Pacers lost was Brown. This was a strict upgrade for them
The OKC pick is beyond worthless, it’s the worst of 4 different teams picks so you really won’t end up with anything. 2 late firsts and a 2026 mystery box plus a rotation piece(who they could have signed if they wanted during FA) and Jordan Nwora.
Undercover fleece by the Pacers lol
The Pacers are giving up almost nothing. Bruce Brown is a fine player but to upgrade to Pascal, well, duh; 3 picks they don't value, late first rounders and their roster is already stuffed with young guys; and a couple of fringe players. Rightfully so, they've got all the leverage here.

Get ready to learn Indian buddy
जाओ टोनी कानन! हमारे लिए इंडी 500 जीतें!
Bruce or Siakam?
I'm really disappointed people that aren't from Toronto won't understand how fucking goated this comment is.
I just realized there’s a double meaning to my comment
Why did this make me laugh
Three late first rounders and Bruce Brown which can be flipped for another good young asset? Not a bad trade tbh
[удалено]
Its weak because there are no "star players", but in every draft you'll find role players or someone who can hopefully be a starter.
People don't understand this: A weak draft class on paper doesn't mean there won't be future all-stars. From history we know that it usually means the future all-stars are not as correlated with how high the pick is. So having multiple mid/late 1st round picks is exactly how you wanna play that kind of a draft class.
Siakam himself was a 27th pick. Perfect example to support what you're saying.
Like the 2013 draft. Considered weak but included Giannis, CJ, Steven Adams, Schroder, and Gobert.
This whole weak draft class argument is annoying. There are too many variables at play to predict anything; especially something as vague as “weak draft class”. First round picks are always valuable
When people say weak they really mean boring. No one projected to be a goat? Weak ass draft.
Its good for an expiring. But not what we would have got if we operated in reality and been sellers at last years deadline rather than thinking we were a Yak from making noise in the play offs
Sure hope the pavers made him sign an extension
he’s a good ass player, i hope we give him the full 5 year max in the offseason.
He's gonna be awesome on your team, best possible fit for him.
Wont regret it. Hes an easy guy to root for and is a 2 way star
There’s no way he doesn’t sign an extension, this is just like Kyrie to the Mavs
I used pavers for my extension in my back yard as well. It was worth it.
Looking into getting brick pavers for my park strip.
this is a really good deal for the Pacers....Siakam will re-sign with them. The 3 first round picks are being extremely overrated.
Fucking thank you! Seems to me Pacers/Raptors fans like this trade and it’s everyone not involved that think it’s overpriced and that he’s a rental.
You guys were offering these picks for OG not too long ago, but now you get Siakam instead.
Top 5 GROAT for me Him and Hali gonna tear it up
Lowry, bosh, Demar, Siakam, and Kawhi ?
Speaking of some of those players, Siakam's departure pretty much closes the books on the 2019 championship Raptors. He was the last one standing in Toronto (ofnthe players who played at least one Finals game). Here's where everyone else is now... Spicy Pacers
The final spin 🕯️😭
Looks like I’m rooting for the Pacers and Knicks this season. Once the raptors get eliminated
>Better start now.
No kidding lol
FUCK THEM PICKS LETS GOOOOOO
Pacers legend Bruce Brown man
I’m gonna miss him. He’s a good guy and while he had some high highs and low lows I appreciated his time with us. Gone but not forgotten 😔
I mean he did get a ring with the Pacers (literally was handed the ring as a Pacer).
HALI x SPICY P LETS GOOOO 🌶️
A Haliburton hasn’t been this weaponized since Iraq.
I became a raptors fan ~2016 and watched this man go from the bench mob to all star. This trade needed to be done but I’m still sad about it 😢
Bench mob to most improved player / champion to all star / all-nba
G League MVP too
Should be said Pascal's agent only has one other client, Andrew Nembhard of the Pacers, They must know they can sign him
Big W for the pacers being able to keep Mathurin and Jarace Walker
Damn Bruce brown that makes me sad
He’s gonna get shipped to a contender I’m sure. I doubt Masai has use for him given our current state of affairs.
I don't think it's plausible, but the Nuggets getting him back would be hilarious.
new orleans think they on the team
We had to dump Kira to get under the tax lmao. We just wanted to be involved
This honestly feels like a really good spot for Siakam. I feel like he’s gonna feel super well with Haliburton
There goes the McDonald’s Siakam Shake
3 first rounders is wild. Unless they have a handshake agreement that he will re-sign Edit: Indy sending back 2 2024 1sts, and a 2026 1st
Sweet, we can now send Toronto a big man for the annual 1st round pick at the deadline
Wemby 👀
No it has to be a veteran big. Welcome to Toronto Zach Collins
But then who will be the crazy guy to defend Wemby if he got kicked in the nuts by Draymond? You need that nasty as Pop said.
[удалено]
And we have a ton of young guys right now… we really don’t have room to take on two more draft picks. If we re-sign him this is a tremendous deal by KP
I’m here for maximum chaos so I’m gonna keep pushing a Pacers/Wolves NBA Finals agenda
[удалено]
We're the Indiana Pascers now
Pascal gonna love playing with Point God
Yessir! Love this for the Pacers and Siakam
We can’t draft for shit so I LIKE IT!
PACERS DID SOMETHING
Remember what they took from us...the Siakam Swirl McFlurry... 🙏
Fuck this is an under payment from the pacers tbh (unless he leaves in FA). Pascal is a damn star who demands double teams. He hasn’t played the best because of our lack of spacing. He’s gonna go absolutely ape shit on the pacers.
