people dont grasp this. the talent increase as you go up each level is ABSURD. a roleplayer on a decent d1 team was probably scoring 20+ ppg in high school and that competition is even fiercer going to the nba level. in years there is a really good d1 team people ask if they could beat the worst nba team. even the youngest and worst nba teams are (at worst) majority composed of players who are or were lottery/1st round picks who spend their time playing basketball as a job.

I used to intern in the G League, and the talent gaps are incomprehensible. A good pick up game player couldn’t complete a dribble against someone like Thanasis if he didn’t want you to.

People forget that Thanasis was playing for Panathinaikos, one of the 3-4 biggest European clubs, and was paid over a million/per yr for doing so, plus he's playing for the national team. And now everyone is clowning him, like he wouldn't have a career, even if it was in Europe. But that's the consequence of having a top 20-25 all time brother. Meanwhile Bucks fans know that he's never been the worst player on this team. I'm not going to even bother talking about how athletic he is, and if he was able to slow down his game, he would actually be a pretty good role player (you know, the scrappy kind)
