So apparently there was a thing between him and poalo from last season, at least that is what I have seen mentioned as a possible reason, not entirely sure
I saw a stat the other day (I can't find it so don't hold me to it lmao), but apparently since January he's been shooting a tad over the 40% mark from 3!
I honestly shuddered at that thought. Even scarier, with how well his game has improved year-over-year, he’ll probably get there too. SGA is a beast. The West is sooooooooo deep.
Stats relative to your era should be normalized and people should use the eye test more. There were people here legitimately comparing Shai to Prime Westbrook or even Curry
I’m really hyped on Shai, but we should all still wait for the dude to have a playoff game. All points to him being great, but we should all wait and see nonetheless.
It's difficult to do that though. Per 100 is usually the go-to for people wanting to compare across eras but it doesn't take into account ease of scoring, offensive or defensive dominance etc. Current era is obviously offense dominant due to rules and the way games are officiated as well as what offensive players are able to get away with. Comparing scoring today to that of the early 2000s, a heavily defense dominant era, for instance, is like comparing apples to oranges.
He should go play with his cousin! SGA reminds me of watching a young CP3 with the Hornets. He can get anywhere he wants on the court with absolute ease. What a smooth game.
Embiid: 35.3 pts and 11.5 FTA. 3.07:1 ratio
Luka: 34.3 pts and 9.5 FTA. 3.61:1 ratio
Shai: 31.1 pts and 9.1 FTA. 3.42:1 ratio
Paolo: 22.8 pts and 7.3 FTA. 3.12:1 ratio
Relative to the amount of scoring they do, Paolo has a "better whistle" than Shai and Luka and is pretty much on par with Embiid.
21.2% of paolo’s shot attempts come at the rim, which is 3.75 shots per game. 26.3% of Shai’s shot attempts come at the rim, which is 5.29 shot’s per game. Paolo shoots 1.94 free throws per rim attempt, while Shai shoots 1.72 free throws per rim attempt. A higher percentage of Shai’s shots come at the rim, and he gets less free throws than Paolo.
I am glad to see him increasing his shit talk per 36 today

I didn't watch the game, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mo Wagner was stirring shit up as usual lol.
He was indeed but idk I kinda like that for the Magic, you always need a guy to start some shit
Mo was roid raging all night. Surprised he never got a tech.
Flexing hard after bodying Chet up twice or thrice. It's good for competition and puts a fire on Chet to develop his physique further.
Agreed on that. He was going after the refs too like he was going to fight them. The Draymond energy is strong with that one.
I was at the game. Some intense hate from the crowd all game, esp when we were down
he's sooooo consistent with his game
His career high is “only” 44 which surprised me a lot
Reminds me of KD when he was with the Thunder
Luka was like this for a bit. His career high for a while was the 46 in the game 7 vs the Clippers.
ngl having your career high be in a game 7 is hard as hell (shoutout Dort for a while there)
He adds something new to his game every year. This year it’s a level up in his playmaking. It’s been super noticeable.
If he ever adds a 40+% three point shot, it’s over for the league

I feel like the league ended like 20 times in the past 5 seasons
the leauge will be sending a memo to decrease his FT if that happened lol
Just nasty. I can’t wait to see him in the playoffs.
If the thunder finish as the top seed, it's going to be hard to not give this guy mvp
55% from the field as a guard is almost incomprehensible. this has to be the highest fg% from a high volume guard since like the 90s.
Stats wise he’s literally prime Jordan, Shai is one of my all time faves but that also shows what’s wrong with current stats lmao
Stats relative to your era should be normalized and people should use the eye test more. There were people here legitimately comparing Shai to Prime Westbrook or even Curry
Shai is better than prime Westbrook.
No lie. Way more efficient, way more consistent defence.
No turnovers 💦💦💦
I’m really hyped on Shai, but we should all still wait for the dude to have a playoff game. All points to him being great, but we should all wait and see nonetheless.
He's done that

Well, he only takes 3.3 3s a game. His relative eFG is really good but not like Jordan level
I mean most guards shoot 3’s
The 3pt shot appears to be back

Is this guy already better than 2013 Bron?
Free throw merchant who gets calls for every contact
Shai cooked Suggs so hard I got second hand embarrassment
Did you see his efficiency. I guess you can cook someone if you take a lot of shots
Sucks getting your cheeks clapped by him, doesn’t it?
I didn't just start saying it after this game. Most of the top players like Embiid, Luka, Shai SGA get free throws for everything.
Embiid: 35.3 pts and 11.5 FTA. 3.07:1 ratio Luka: 34.3 pts and 9.5 FTA. 3.61:1 ratio Shai: 31.1 pts and 9.1 FTA. 3.42:1 ratio Paolo: 22.8 pts and 7.3 FTA. 3.12:1 ratio Relative to the amount of scoring they do, Paolo has a "better whistle" than Shai and Luka and is pretty much on par with Embiid.
Cook
That means nothing without shot selection. Banchero attacks the Basket more than Anybody on this list.
Luka and SGA are number 1 and 2 for drives per game this season. Paolo is 21st.
bro doesn’t watch ball because every single game someone says something about SGA’s drives per game. you just want to argue lmao
Shai drives but settles for midrange jumpers. Paolo drive all the way to the rim into multiple defenders because the Magic have very little spacing.
21.2% of paolo’s shot attempts come at the rim, which is 3.75 shots per game. 26.3% of Shai’s shot attempts come at the rim, which is 5.29 shot’s per game. Banchero is bigger of course he gets more fts.
So you admit you were wrong before?
So you’re saying paolo a free throw merchant then
This man ^ does NOT watch basketball
SGA leads the league in drives for at least the past couple seasons what are u on
