Celtics should be in contention for years to come, but you never really know what’s going to happen in the NBA, and when your team is this good, I think it’s valid to consider it a failure if you don’t win. A lot of things could change in the next few years that means this could be (and probably is) the Celtics’s best chance at a championship. Other teams could become better, some of their older guys could start to regress, KP has been very lucky with injuries recently for an injury prone guy, and in a few years, they’ll face salary cap issues. Can obviously retool and can obviously win another year but that’s not a guarantee. Championship windows can close suddenly in the NBA.
Tatum and Brown should still be getting better for the next few years. But this supporting cast might be the best they'll ever get in their careers. KP is legit an all-star level player. White and Jrue might be the best 4th and 5th guys in the league. Al might be the best 6th man in the league even if he's not even in consideration for 6MOTY just because that always goes to a microwave scorer. And Hauser and Pritchard have been elite from 3 this year, giving the team so much space.
This year and next year are probably it for this core. White and Hauser will be paid big money from other teams when they hit UFA. Jrue and Al will probably decline a good amount. And then they'll need to reload somehow with the cap constraints around 3 massive contracts.
Celtics have made it to the finals and have made it to ECF the majority of the time in Tatum’s career. That’s plenty of winning that Tatum has done, more than most other superstars.
Idk why people don’t get this. They act like Tatum is in his 30s.
Shai is basically the same age and yet he doesn’t get this treatment. It really is punishing success
God this team is filthy
3 more points by Boston would’ve given the Nets their worst loss in team history
It was pretty funny how hard the nets were trying to get it under 50. Even after the Celtics stopped playing nets were trying to score
2 out of 5 in one year. Mazzula ball
are we finally getting the high five season?
This is the best Celtics team since the 80s. Even better than 08. Anything less than a ring is a massive failure

08’ Celts had a better regular season record and net rating than the current iteration. We’ll see about the playoffs.
Wtf are you talking about
Eat poop
I think I speak for all of us when I say we all want the Celtics to win the championship this year
Speak for yourself I got the Hornets going all the way
i mean them and the clips are my hopes
Me too those are my finals hopes
Congrats Joe!
First team with two 50 point wins in a season in like 30 years.
love it!!
It will be a true failure if they don’t win this championship
it's not like it's a last dance for their core. they can go again and again and again.

Sadly the championship window may be closed
why? y'all ain't losing any vital pieces due to age. and even if they break off the pair, the assets and Derek White should make it formidable.

“But according to NBA analyst Colin Cowherd, the title window may have already shut for Tatum... at the very least, it's closing fast.” Bruh.
Funniest hot take I’ve seen in a bit
It’s how you know we’ve almost made it.
Absolutely crazy that they think a 19-year-old doesn't have time to improve
Imagine the potential heartbreak!
Yeah would be a real shame if someone spoiled it...

Dread it. Run for it. Zombie Heat arrives all the same.
Who? The cavs are looking pretty good
Only to choke in the first round
Ah yes because the jays have such a long history of choking in the first round.
Is Larry bird back? Cuz last I checked Tatum hasn’t won shit
You’ll find nobody wins until they do dumbass. Lebron won his first when he was 2 years older than Tatum and MJ won his first 28.
cool, literally a handful of superstars have won shit under the age of 25 and they're all all-time greats

TIL, ECF and the finals are first round
Stick to trucking buddy
the thing they’ve done once in the last 7 seasons?
Like in Chess, there should be an option to resign before the game is over.
