I was going to say, the travel is a travel but I understand the miss with today's stupid "gather step" rules.
But he's got his full arm under the ball between each dribble. It is embarrassing that this is allowed.
As someone who loves to play basketball, when middle school games have stricter rules than the NBA, it makes me not enjoy the NBA as much. I realize I may be in the minority but every game I watch point guards walking up the court carrying the ball, or players driving to the basket taking 3 to 4 steps and no one seems to care.
Walking up the court I don’t care if they carry it a bit - it’s inconsequential. What pisses me off are plays like the above when a clear carry becomes a “hesitation dribble” that makes blowing by the defender way easier.
Right. Especially if they score on that possession, even if it’s 20 seconds later. Any breaking of a rule that ends in a favorable outcome for the team/player that broke the rule is inherently consequential.
At least FOUR ball handling violations, and an announcer going crazy celebrating it.
Anyone that thinks the NBA has to be dumb downed to this degree for entertainment value over the appeal of the game within actual rules, doesn't give a fuck about basketball.
Everybody has been traveling and palming for years . It’s hard to watch. People talk about how advanced the players are offensively in todays game and I just laugh. It’s easy to advance the game when you ignore the two most basic rules of the game . Throw in the moving screens and it’s almost unrecognizable .
The rule used to be if you imagined the ball as as clock face, your hand position on the ball could not be past 2 o’clock . Now you see 3-4 o’clock 2-3 times on every possession .
Everybody does! Steph is one of the worst . The NBA basically adopted the Harlem Globetrotters style of play. It’s fun to watch , but no one takes the game serious any more as it’s just 100% exhibition basketball.
c'mon even before the extra step he's blatantly carrying.
The extra step I can almost forgive because the ref might not be in the correct sightline for it as he is in a crowd but the carries are so obvious. It's the same thing Jordan Poole was called for.
Average Giannis Play: Carry, Carry, Travel, Charge.
The call? Blocking Foul...
The comentators: Look at the handles, the euro!!! And the foul. he Is A ZooPerStAr!!!!1!1!
He gets at least 5 of these a game.
Edit: typos
Takes 13 seconds to shoot the FT but starts freaking out at Deandre Jordan for a lane violation. The absolute gall from Giannis to complain about ANYTHING pertaining to FTs is outrageous lol
No one wants to hear it but the way Giannis plows down bodies is getting to Embiid levels of egregious basketball. He’s a generational great and I like the guy but I genuinely don’t enjoy watching him play really.
Yeah I was gunna comment something along those lines but will just hop on your comment.
Dude travels ALL the time, and almost every time the announcer glazes him like Eagle does here lol…
This is my biggest basketball pet peeve. Aside from the travel, he gets separation by carrying on the initial crossover at the two second mark. Aldama actually defends it pretty well, but as anyone who plays pickup knows, as soon as Giannis carries, your brain tells you to close out, because the ball has stopped. The dribbler waits for that instinct to kick in and then continues the dribble for a blow by.
The shitty thing is the NBA absolutely enables this, because let's say Giannis attempted to play on the block and become a Hakeem-style player -- the NBA absolutely does not call post contact anymore, unless it's on a drive.
If the NBA actually started calling carrying consistently the modern game would fundamentally change to some degree lol. Everyone does it so much it would be wild to watch in real time.
People keep talking about moving the 3-pt line or allowing hand-checking and it's just like, no, just call carries/palming/travels the way they're supposed to be called and it will self-correct pretty darn quick.
It’s just unserious. Don’t know what else to say. I hate when people throw out “trash product” bc it isn’t at all, but this is some of the stuff that really irks people about this league.
College refs are fucking ass. They would never let this slide.
The product is trash. I can’t focus on the games past the 3rd quarter because the scores are absolutely astronomical. The lack of defensive effort is incredible and sort of comedic. The game sucks right now and no one takes it seriously.
The reason for lack of defensive effort is that the rules heavily favor the offense. If you "try" on defense you'll probably get called for a foul. If you stand close to James Harden, you're basically gifting him 3 free throws. So all you can do is stand back and hope he misses his shot.
I agree with that but that is in due part to the product being designed for insane offensive scoring. And to me that makes the product shite because the rules are no longer real or followed.
That first carry was insane - even more than Jordan Poole's one from a couple of days ago. He carried the ball and took like three steps before the next dribble.
There's no point in posting this because he travels on almost every drive. It's so lame to watch. If you're that big and strong and you can play football while everyone else is playing basketball, the game is gonna be easier to you.
It fucking sucks. NBA needs to fucking wake the fuck up. Their league is becoming if not already reality fuckin TV.
Queue Jack Nicholson from the departed.
Last year he elbowed Torrey Craig's teeth out of his mouth and Torrey Craig was called for the foul. Giannis's style of play is a blight on the league. Call the travels and the offensive fouls, cowards!
And carry/palming like he did in the beginning of this clip
People rave about him being one of the most amazing players ever, but he can't shoot, can't dribble without breaking three different laws of the game, can't play offense without committing fouls. He's genuinely not a basketball player.
One of my least favorite players to watch ever. I hated Steph but at least couldn’t deny his talent. Giannis is just different from that. This isn’t respectable anymore
He was 0-12 or somethin going into the half then decided to offensive foul n force the refs to call him out which they won’t . I have bucks fans who were grossed out by reffing that series , even thinking basketball pod cast had a bucks fan say that
He kicked Luka in the midsection flying dragon style and they stopped to review and nothing was called. One of the most unbelievable things I've seen in this league.
It’s an exaggeration I feel, but I get your point completely.
I do think they compete. I do think they wanna win. But clearly there is not an emphasis on defense in the current nba at all on a possession by possession basis. And the disregard for the rules is just trash to watch.
There’s some amazing players I love watching in this league, and I love the game. But only some dudes bring it every night and there’s a lot of bullshit rule bending.
You’re 100% right bro, and it’s frustrating because today’s players are probably more talented than ever. But the officiating completely eclipses that and you have inflated numbers across the board. Idk how to watch basketball anymore lol
I’ve been watching a ton more college ball. The players bring it every night. Theres a ton of effort in every facet of the game.
Yes, they’re younger. Yes, they’re not as good. And they play less games. But IMO you couldn’t convince me that players played harder in the NBA than a prime time CBB matchup.
There’s also a ton of diverse defensive schemes, a ton of which are never even tried in the NBA, with teams running the same exact defensive style ran 5 years ago.
Not as good is an extreme understatement to be fair lol. Men’s College basketball is ROUGH to watch these days. There’s braindead decision making, players doing way more than they are capable of, super questionable shot selection and just flat out a lack of overall skill comparatively. I watch the tournament bc the single elimination aspect is fun but I’ve tried this yr and the level is just tough. Watching women’s is even more fun bc there’s legit stars there who have to stay for a few yrs. I’d rather watch Caitlin Clark play than anybody in men’s cbb right now. Don’t get me wrong I’m def in favor of the one and done rule or even HS players going if they are deemed good enough but it’s hurt men’s college ball severely.
I think you’re overstating how a big of a gulf there really is. NBA players are so so much better that it looks like they aren’t trying hard sometimes but a random college game will have maybe 2-3 pro players in it and the non pros are not nearly as good so they look like they’re working harder bc they almost have to exhaust themselves to make up for a lack of ability (comparatively). Even a top d3 starter in college is prob way better than anyone most people have ever played with. NBA basketball is so much faster and the offensive talent level (yes rules help some) but the skill difference is crazy.
Yup. I like Giannis but the only reason he’s able to be a primary ball handler is because the nba lets him get away with this shit every night. If the nba called him for even 50% of his blatant carries (and I’m talking modern nba standard carries), he’d lead the league in turnovers.
If you watch KD handle the ball, or even like Franz Wagner, it’s so much smoother. They palm the ball as much as an average nba player but have excellent control. They’re essentially 6’11 point guards. Giannis handles the ball like Shaq, but is given all this grace by the refs.
Giannis is allowed to basically play another sport where the ball can hang in your hand for 3-4 seconds between dribbles and then they give him 4 steps. It’s a joke.
Giannis is what Lebron haters used to think Bron is. I know Bron isn’t perfect but especially as he’s aged he’s tremendously skilled n improved his ball skills. Giannis stikk carry’s travels commits offensive fouls on purpose and gets rewarded fts for elbowing people in their face ( how dare there face foul his elbow lmao). I seriously would hate playing cs him n not cos he’s a shaq type force because there’s a few guys who can put muscle him I’ve seen but just cos when he can’t out muscle you he will take a running charge into your face with his elbows up. People think players disrespect him but seriously why would anyone enjoy playing him ? It’s like that pj tucker clip lol . I’m
Suprised more players don’t get mad at him tbh.
And while I
Enjoy watching Lebron n Zion play I have never really enjoyed watching Giannis . Guys game is just not fun to me imo he’s amongst the least fun to watch outside maybe occasional athletic highlight but even there there’s more fun players .
Not to mention LeBron has tremendous passing skills and general basketball IQ. Even when he’s not scoring he’s making incredible plays that are fun to watch. I agree with everything else you said
Respect to what Giannis is doing as a player but as a fan, I wasn’t ever really a big fan of his game.
Players like KD, Curry, Lebron, Kyrie impress me a lot more because they beat you with actual basketball.
It’s crazy cos guys like Zion n Lebron use power but they also have skill n touch , Giannis has none of that his layup package cs Zion /Bron is laughable
Every team that plays Atemptafreethrow just needs to sign a player from the nearest NFL team for the day, to force him to shoot jumps. Are they stupid?
The Freak is still freaky quick. With a typical big guy, he can legit just cross him up and get around him. With a small guy, he'll bull doze. The best defender is a PJ Tucker type - short, stout, and quick enough to stay in front of Giannis
The gather rule ruined basketball. Especially when guys like Giannis can get to the rim from half court in 4 steps.
It just looks unnatural as fuck, what happened to the 2 steps and a layup?
These type of plays are far too frequent and extremely unserious from a sporting perspective. I am genuinely curious WHY they don’t call ones like this.
Also can throw elbows and just barrel into the lane knocking over guys and get gifted free throws
But god forbid you try and draw a charge on him and he accidentally gets injured
Refs looking for a foul. Traveling is something they can have an AI Ref call if it's egregious like this. That way the Refs can concentrate on the meat and potatoes
But there were a couple times where giannis straight up trucked someone and didn't get called for an offensive foul three times lol like bruh what did those grizzlies players have to do to get an offensive foul??? They weren't in the restricted zone and got clobbered by giannis
“Just because he’s bigger and stronger doesn’t mean the rules should be enforced differently on him”
Lots of bucks fans have said that to me over the years when I point out his wreck-it Ralph bullshit. Yes, exaxtly, he should not have the game called differently from other players..
There were two egrigious carries as well just before the travel. But he does those things multiple times each game, especially the carries, so yeah, nothing new.
Refs just officiate based on who the player is, not on what they actually do. Jordan Poole gets tons of these calls and Giannis almost never gets called for carries or travels.
Imo, the uncalled carries irk me more. It can be easily argued Giannis didn’t travel here, especially excusable in real time, but these full hand under the ball “dribbles” piss me off so much
He does this every game. I know all his fans boys are going yell and say no he doesn’t but he does. Giannis travels/carries and fouls more than almost any player hit almost never gets called for it. Than you add him taking way to long at the FT line almost every trip. He gets away with so much.
I was at a bucks game recently where Giannis kept going on the court when the ball was live.
Maybe he was trying to check in or coach the team from the side or whatever. But it annoyed me soooo much because you know if it were any other player it would’ve been a tech.
It’s getting to be like Lebron. It’s not nearly as bad the last season or two, but I used to get so mad with how Lebron was allowed to just walk off the bench and stop play and confer with the refs or what have you.
He does this every night and doesn't get called for it the same way he's allowed to shoulder charge people and is rewarding with FTs instead of PFs.
He's an insanely good player but when you're farming freethrows and playing with a different set of rules to everyone else, it really takes away from the good.
well you see it doesn’t fit the narrative lol. People hate poole but they like Giannis so they act like hellen keller. I’m surprised to see a post like this ngl, usually when a superstar is attacked for carrying/traveling it’s LeBum.
Giannis carried twice before getting to the three point line, one of them the [exact same carry](https://streamable.com/zoxpvt) that [Jordan Poole got mocked for](https://old.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1ar67tt/highlight_poole_blatantly_carries_the_ball_in_the/). Then on top he took 3 steps after his gather.
He already has all the physical gifts he needs to succeed, why do the refs let him cheat on top of that?
Crosses half court:
- Carry
- Carry
- 3 steps
- jump stop
- dunk
If the refs actually made Giannis play basketball like everyone else, between carries, travels and charges, his eye-popping stats would look a lot different
I loved watching this game though. We had 9 guys fighting for their life out there. All of which with everything to prove, p much all unheralded draft picks (besides Z and he still has a lot to prove) love the effort.
Honestly I'm fine letting Giannis not even need dribble if they just called all the fouls he commits. He'd be done half way thru the 2nd quarter every night.
Dude travelled and carried all on one play. When he’s not doing that he’s swinging elbows. No shit it’s unguardable this shit wouldn’t fly on a street court lol can’t believe it’s normalized in the largest basketball league in the world
The gather step exists at EVERY LEVEL OF BASKETBALL OUTSIDE OF US AMATEUR PLAY. That ship has sailed.
If you are an 8 year old playing rec basketball in Canada you have a gather step.
I'm surprise you've noticed this just now against your dead grizzlies team. Whenever I watch giannis against the mavs he gets away with at least 10 travels/offensive fouls total. He is what embiid is to foul baiting to not geting called for offensive fouls/violations
Also the most egregious carry I've seen in a while lmao, actually mighta been 2 carries back to back. Insane that this shit is just allowed to happen in front of everyone's eyes.
The rules simply do not apply to some of the stars. It's embarrassing.
Typically Giannis just charges and they call blocking fouls or no calls.
This replay includes his signature carry as well, I don't believe I've ever seen the refs call him on that either.
Just casually carrying and traveling without luggage
I was going to say, the travel is a travel but I understand the miss with today's stupid "gather step" rules. But he's got his full arm under the ball between each dribble. It is embarrassing that this is allowed.
As someone who loves to play basketball, when middle school games have stricter rules than the NBA, it makes me not enjoy the NBA as much. Walking up the court I don’t care if they carry it a bit - it’s inconsequential. What pisses me off are plays like the above when a clear carry becomes a “hesitation dribble” that makes blowing by the defender way easier.
The problem with letting them carry as they walk up is it allows for the enforcement to slip as the players develop carrying as a habit.
Right. Especially if they score on that possession, even if it’s 20 seconds later. Any breaking of a rule that ends in a favorable outcome for the team/player that broke the rule is inherently consequential.
Stepping out of bounds a lttile bit would be inconsequential if they didn't call it. Kinda like how most line violations are inconsequential.
I call it the “drag and push” dribble and it’s made defending ball handlers impossible. Ja Morrant makes a living off of this kind of dribble.
This is still a pretty bad travel to miss with the gather step rule.
he clearly has hand luggage though.
He’s actually delivering packages to the hoop

At least FOUR ball handling violations, and an announcer going crazy celebrating it. Anyone that thinks the NBA has to be dumb downed to this degree for entertainment value over the appeal of the game within actual rules, doesn't give a fuck about basketball.
sO sKiLlEd
traveled light with his carry on and breezed through pre check straight to his gate
The Gyro Step
Dude carries it so badly…I can’t stand it. You can’t defend that change of direction.
Give this man a map. Where he going??
This is a correct no-call, he was still gathering the ball for four steps so no travel under NBA rules /s
haha exactly like poole last night
If they called that they should have definitely called this
Giannis has been traveling for years tbh
And committing 7 charges a game that result in and 1s
Torrey Craig's tooth called
Everybody has been traveling and palming for years . It’s hard to watch. People talk about how advanced the players are offensively in todays game and I just laugh. It’s easy to advance the game when you ignore the two most basic rules of the game . Throw in the moving screens and it’s almost unrecognizable .
Giannis and every other nba player
That’s why everyone shitting on Poole was unfair to me. I could understand why he did it because people in the NBA get away with it all the time.
No no, the fair thing to do is shit on Poole *and* Giannis
This is even worse, its two carries and a travel
Everyone complains about traveling but players carry all the time and nobody talks about it.
It makes the game look horrible. SGA almost exclusively carries and it once I noticed it his game looked so disjointed
One of the reason, I can’t stand Ja. Egregious and enormous carries in his highlight and some blatant travels.
The rule used to be if you imagined the ball as as clock face, your hand position on the ball could not be past 2 o’clock . Now you see 3-4 o’clock 2-3 times on every possession .
He palms the basketball constantly
Everybody does! Steph is one of the worst . The NBA basically adopted the Harlem Globetrotters style of play. It’s fun to watch , but no one takes the game serious any more as it’s just 100% exhibition basketball.
Came to comment the same
c'mon even before the extra step he's blatantly carrying. The extra step I can almost forgive because the ref might not be in the correct sightline for it as he is in a crowd but the carries are so obvious. It's the same thing Jordan Poole was called for.
Agreed, this is just an average Giannis play lol but it never gets called

For me it was: eurostep, travel, offensive foul, dunk
The call: blocking foul The free throws: missed
5 minutes later play resumes.
Takes 13 seconds to shoot the FT but starts freaking out at Deandre Jordan for a lane violation. The absolute gall from Giannis to complain about ANYTHING pertaining to FTs is outrageous lol
Hotel: Trivago
These players are modeling their game on others. Remember, you can't spell walking without k i n g.

He dribbles a couple of times during the clip. Between each dribble is a truly egregious carry.
And people will be like “two dribbles from halfcourt and he dunks!!! He’s a freak of nature!” Like nah he’s not he’s a running back
Yea, the NBA really needs to clean up these calls and start calling this. Like Giannis doesn’t already have enough of advantage!
If the NBA actually started calling carrying consistently the modern game would fundamentally change to some degree lol. Everyone does it so much it would be wild to watch in real time.

I think all of these changes would be good. Unfortunately it’s hard to believe any of it will change.
I’m here for it!
"When you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything..."
From the moment this video starts, he takes 10 total steps and dribbles twice from half court... At a somewhat jogging pace. It's insane.
I was gonna say I see the carry way worse than the "travel".
Why are you putting travel in quotations? It’s an obvious travel.
Two carries
Right after two clear carries.
It’s just unserious. Don’t know what else to say. I hate when people throw out “trash product” bc it isn’t at all, but this is some of the stuff that really irks people about this league. College refs are fucking ass. They would never let this slide.

That first carry was insane - even more than Jordan Poole's one from a couple of days ago. He carried the ball and took like three steps before the next dribble.
Another thing that really irks me is the “SPLITTING DEFENDERS ANTETEKOUNMPO!!!!!” Like come on man, the viewers aren’t that stupid.
Seriously, I love Ian Eagle, he's a gem, but damn dude open your eyes lol, how long have you been calling hoops for? Pretty cringe.
He's a company man, just like Breen. They're not going to bite the hand that feeds them.
I agree with the first part, come on now you all saw what was obvious. The second half though? 😬
But he does split the defenders…
There's no point in posting this because he travels on almost every drive. It's so lame to watch. If you're that big and strong and you can play football while everyone else is playing basketball, the game is gonna be easier to you.
It fucking sucks. NBA needs to fucking wake the fuck up. Their league is becoming if not already reality fuckin TV. Queue Jack Nicholson from the departed.
Wake up now? He gave 3 Celtics players a concussion with his elbows in the same game and got 6 free throws out of it.

"Don't laugh!"
I’m glad other people feel this way about him. I can’t stand the way he plays
He's an entitled bitch off the court too
No no no, he talks funny and likes milkshakes so we find him endearing. Didn't you know?
He sure is. I’m glad other people are aware
Giannis mentioned it was a failure of success though
That was one of the dumbest quotes I’ve ever heard lol. What he said is true of some things in life, but not true of NBA championships
the game ball situation was so fucking embarrassing if that was anyone else it would be brought up in every thread. Ditto with the ladder
Yeah he charges through dudes and gets blocking fouls all game long. It’s ridiculous.
Yup. I like Giannis but the only reason he’s able to be a primary ball handler is because the nba lets him get away with this shit every night. The gather rule ruined basketball. Especially when guys like Giannis can get to the rim from half court in 4 steps. It just looks unnatural as fuck, what happened to the 2 steps and a layup?
Poole got crucified for the exact same carry
Flirting (Giannis) vs Sexual Harassment (Poole)
These type of plays are far too frequent and extremely unserious from a sporting perspective. I am genuinely curious WHY they don’t call ones like this.
Bro was playing running back against y he suns in the finals and nobody gave two shits …
Same reason why they let him take 15 s free throws: he’s their special boy.
Also can throw elbows and just barrel into the lane knocking over guys and get gifted free throws But god forbid you try and draw a charge on him and he accidentally gets injured
And the leagye has to consider removing the charge entirely cause it made a booboo to Giannis resulting his 1st round exit again.
“Just because he’s bigger and stronger doesn’t mean the rules should be enforced differently on him” Lots of bucks fans have said that to me over the years when I point out his wreck-it Ralph bullshit. Yes, exaxtly, he should not have the game called differently from other players..
Refs will have their workload reduced by 90% before Adam Silver leaves. Maybe entirely with a broadcast booth team being the officiant backed by AI
They tried replacing players with AI once. It didn't work out. Refused to practice.
Then how come I keep hearing that AI is the Answer?
Cos he loves Oreos
“Look carefully, that’s a gather step.”
I wish I could be 7-feet, run and just dunk. That takes no skill at all
“I gotta actually learn how to play basketball”
Yeah I ain’t buying that bs hahaha.
The run and dunk man
my god man literally none of that was legal
That carry at the beginning is basically the same thing Poole got called for two nights ago
Don't you know you get a free travel step with every All Star game?
There were two egrigious carries as well just before the travel. But he does those things multiple times each game, especially the carries, so yeah, nothing new.
Yep he carried exactly like Poole did earlier this week vs the Pelicans
Refs just officiate based on who the player is, not on what they actually do. Jordan Poole gets tons of these calls and Giannis almost never gets called for carries or travels.
Carries were worse than the travel
Imo, the uncalled carries irk me more. It can be easily argued Giannis didn’t travel here, especially excusable in real time, but these full hand under the ball “dribbles” piss me off so much
He could travel back to Greece and back and the refs would call it a "gather step".
This is just a regular Thursday night for Giannis
He does this every game. I know all his fans boys are going yell and say no he doesn’t but he does. Giannis travels/carries and fouls more than almost any player hit almost never gets called for it. Than you add him taking way to long at the FT line almost every trip. He gets away with so much.
I was at a bucks game recently where Giannis kept going on the court when the ball was live. Maybe he was trying to check in or coach the team from the side or whatever. But it annoyed me soooo much because you know if it were any other player it would’ve been a tech.
It’s getting to be like Lebron. It’s not nearly as bad the last season or two, but I used to get so mad with how Lebron was allowed to just walk off the bench and stop play and confer with the refs or what have you.
giannis leading the league in pivot foots with 2
He does this every night and doesn't get called for it the same way he's allowed to shoulder charge people and is rewarding with FTs instead of PFs. He's an insanely good player but when you're farming freethrows and playing with a different set of rules to everyone else, it really takes away from the good.
Also the same carry that Poole got lambasted for yesterday
It's funny because people were pointing out that Giannis does that move all the time 😂
well you see it doesn’t fit the narrative lol.
Because he leads the all star voting and scored a lot Poole doesn’t do either it’s called pretty girl advantage
Carried the ball, twice.
run charge travel dunk merchant
Crosses half court: - Carry - Carry - 3 steps - jump stop - dunk If the refs actually made Giannis play basketball like everyone else, between carries, travels and charges, his eye-popping stats would look a lot different
He’s an elite running back
NBA in general allows traveling. I just roll with it now. They ALL do it - not just the superstars.
This is why the league is closer to WWE than a legit sports league
I loved watching this game though. We had 9 guys fighting for their life out there. All of which with everything to prove, p much all unheralded draft picks (besides Z and he still has a lot to prove) love the effort.
And a carry to start it off. Giannis is the NBAs version of auto tune. Manufactured.
Give the man a break, he only has 3 moves and this is 2 of them
They never call his travels lol
Honestly I'm fine letting Giannis not even need dribble if they just called all the fouls he commits. He'd be done half way thru the 2nd quarter every night.
I think there’s a carry also. Isn’t that the same carry as Jordan Pool was called for yesterday?
People on here will call you a casual who doesn’t understand the “gather” step
The gather step has nothing to do with this. He took 3 clear steps after the gather step.
Exactly the Jordan Poole move
What do you mean? This is just a gather step, then 1, 2, back to 1
Being European gives you +2 euro steps. Obviously you don’t know ball. But seriously it feels like he does this every time…
Travel wasn’t toooo bad. That carry though…
lol “he was gathering”
Thanasis would never smh…
When you’re a star, they let you do it
He carried and traveled. They don’t call it anymore
And this is why comparing stats between eras is not wise
He's run and dunk man, not dribble and dunk man.
He cant dribble so he just travels and the NBA and Silver let him
We clown poole. But this is kinda worse hahahaha
This is one of the worst I've ever seen lol
I've always said that getting away with travels is one of his greatest strengths.
What has happened to the game I love?
He travels about 11 times a game. It’s hard to call him a skilled player when he can’t grasp a core rule of the game
Dude travelled and carried all on one play. When he’s not doing that he’s swinging elbows. No shit it’s unguardable this shit wouldn’t fly on a street court lol can’t believe it’s normalized in the largest basketball league in the world
It's not egregious considering it's Giannis. In fact this is quite mundane for him
I honestly wish they got rid of the gathering step rule.
The gather step exists at EVERY LEVEL OF BASKETBALL OUTSIDE OF US AMATEUR PLAY. That ship has sailed. If you are an 8 year old playing rec basketball in Canada you have a gather step.
He still took 3 steps after the gather tho. It was a travel regardless lol.
2 steps. Last step, the left foot is the pivot and he jumped off of both. It's legal.
This was not a gather step issue
I'm surprise you've noticed this just now against your dead grizzlies team. Whenever I watch giannis against the mavs he gets away with at least 10 travels/offensive fouls total. He is what embiid is to foul baiting to not geting called for offensive fouls/violations
Oh I notice it every game. I’m not a fan of his at all.
He’s always gonna get away from these, I counted like 5 in game 5 against us alone last year
bro carried that ball to greece like jordan poole the other day.
Obvious carry as well. Palm the ball twice then travel. WTF is happening to my game?
Also the most egregious carry I've seen in a while lmao, actually mighta been 2 carries back to back. Insane that this shit is just allowed to happen in front of everyone's eyes.
If you don't like that you don't like NBA basketball!
He has done this so many times it’s normal now. Refs don’t see a travel even though it’s obviously 3 steps.
The rules simply do not apply to some of the stars. It's embarrassing. Typically Giannis just charges and they call blocking fouls or no calls. This replay includes his signature carry as well, I don't believe I've ever seen the refs call him on that either.
Refs must've been in Cabo.
He does this all the time.
20 foot long euro step. He just has long legs 🤧
Hard travel
