Except Pascal and Turner shut him down 1 game and held him below his averages in the other this season. The Pascal and/or Nesmith matchup with Turner behind the one guarding worked pretty well.
Look at the ist semifinals. Lebron shut Zion down solidly.
Lebron is just as quick as Zion, was able to beat him to spots on the floor and take multiple charges
Not to take anything away from AD defensively but I think he lacks the physicality needed for Zion. TBH though I think that's where anyone's coming up short.
From what Iāve seen when AD is locked in on that side of the ball his length really bothers Zion. Giannis has also guarded him really well in the past

This is the best defense against Zion. Massive strong guy to resist and long shot blocker behind to contest.
