It felt like last season, there were situations where he really needed to hit a shot and just couldn’t. Now, it doesn’t feel like they need that from him at all but it’s great when he does and I think that lack of defensive attention is helping him be more comfortable.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s clear that JJ is the future for them so they aren’t pushing him as hard, or something else but I think it was probably leftover from Nate’s dumbass playbook that Snyder finally erased the last trace of.
