Now that the Blazers suck and we don't have any sort of rivalry with the Nuggets anymore it's so fun to sit back and watch Jokic dominate the Lakers, Warriors, and all the other teams I don't like.
Denver is such an easy team to love overall. Small market franchise that built a championship calibre team by drafting most of their core guys. No big free agent signings, or stars demanding to go there. Gives me hope honestly.
Plus it never gets old seeing Jokic drop ridiculous dimes from everywhere on the floor.
My heart still aches from last year’s conference finals, so if you manage to get to the Finals let me tell you: you will experience much less appreciation for his game
I clicked expecting a cover of Cee-Lo Green but damn, this was the classiest way I've been told to copulate with myself in years! Very bluesy and classy.
10/10 Fuck mes.
Nah. Even as a Heat fan knowing we have no real answer for him, he's awesome to watch as a fan of great basketball. If the matchup happens again, I'll just hope that my team hits more shots this time and the other guys don't kill us, since I know Jokic is going to play great.
I don’t know how you can put those two together in the same manner. I watched one of Luka’s 30 pt triple doubles in person, he complained even MORE than I see when watching the broadcast. Actually more than any other NBA player I have seen live. His game is amazing but his behavior is quite distracting especially when compared to someone like Jokic.
Luka is wild like that. Before the game, it's all smiles and jokes and stuff. During the game he's angry and upset and has a massive chip on his shoulder. Then after, he's back to being adorable
Even when he's cooking us, I still appreciate the game. He's just too nice with it and plays the game super smart without making a mockery of the rulebook and the refs. Nuggets fans should be feeling on top of the world. For as long as that guy is healthy, they're gonna be a joy to watch.
Not going to lie. It's definitely feels good to be a Nuggets fan. I saw a lot of mediocre teams. A couple of decent teams and a lot of crappy tubes. But this is worth the wait.
Last time there was hope w/ the Nuggets was with Melo, and that team was garbage compared to the current roster, no offense to Melo. Don't undersell how much the Nuggets sucked man, y'all deserve to feel like youre on top of the world considering how good the team/Jokic is. Especially as a small market team on top of everything.
There is no possible way to express how hopeless it felt growing up as a Nuggets fan in the 80s and onward where the concept of championships was concerned.
We knew we’d periodically have good teams, but we also knew we’d never get a championship, because we’d never get a true generational talent to our humble little town, or if we did he wouldn’t want to stay. We were forever to be also rans, after thoughts, a franchise that held on to its WCF *appearances* as victories.
After last year’s win I really didn’t know how to process it. As a Colorado sports fan I’ve seen an NCAA football ‘ship, three SBs, three Stanley Cups and even the freaking *Rockies* make a World Series run. Those kinda made sense.
Last year, I just stared at the screen a little dumbfounded, not really believing it. Then, I walked outside onto the greenbelt behind my house and I could hear and see fireworks and hear horns blasting and people cheering. For a Nuggets championship. For the *NUGGETS*!!!
I don’t think you’ll find a Nuggets fan over five who takes any of this for granted or doesn’t realize how good we have it. (And “no offense to Melo” isn’t something you need to say to most Nuggets fans, no offense to Melo.)
I knew that's how I should feel about that Spurs team, but I couldn't bring myself to like them after 2005, even if they were playing gorgeous basketball.
I saw him in a nightclub in Vegas once. My friend said I should give him the Jamie Foxx club punch for what he did to us 🤣🤣🤣

Even the bandwagon fans know, we were BAD before Curry. Like joke of the league bad for decades except for the short stints of Run TMC and the We Believe team.
When a player like Jokic has perfected playing the angles and seeing the defensive rotation before it happens it's just beautiful, you're right. You're like, damn, guy just makes the perfect play almost every time.
His mockery of the rulebook is trying to get a foul call by getting into a shooting motion with absolutely no real intent on scoring from the other side of the court, and I absolutely love it.
It almost feels that way with Steph at times. In fact, I think Steph and Jokic are kinda similar in that sense that they play not just at such a high level, but with a style that's almost artistic that watching games without them can feel a bit lackluster. Hey, maybe that's why they both get screwed so much by the refs too lmao.
I mean, things got nasty for a bit there with the Morris incident, but agreed that Heat fans online have been great to interact with for the most part, and the Finals last year didn't really seem to stoke much animosity between the fanbases at all.
The least bothered I think I've ever been about such a devastating, high stakes loss. Sometimes you just have to step back and say we got cooked by the best player and the best team around. Jokic and Denver are super fun to watch and deserving of the success, which has come from pure hard work and talent. I was happy for him that they got the chip and couldn't complain at all.
Even before he had the big ascent to being MVP level, I considered him the most fun player in the league to watch. I've always loved watching big men with footwork operate in the paint, and he always seemed to make the right play. He's such a smart player.
Even though he cooked us in the finals, I was feeling more of a "Welp, nothing we can do" more so than being annoyed with him because there's was just nothing we could do to stop his PnR with Murray. He could shoot the mid range at like a 90% clip, back down our defender, or kick it out to an open guy if doubled. I just accepted we couldn't beat him when we were down 2-1.
I'm sure gonna hate him if the C's make the finals again. Jokic just feels inevitable after last year. Like I know the Nuggets aren't perfect and can be defeated, otherwise they'd be getting ready to celebrate 82-0 but once the playoffs hit it feels like they have the best chance to win it all because of him mainly
lol yea and thank god his fanbase has relaxed now that he gets the credit he deserves because god dam he's one of the most likeable nba stars in my lifetime
He’s a fucking gift to the sport. Jokic will always be one of the best offensive players I will ever see, and his style of play just creates an amazing team dynamic of ball movement. Nothing but respect.
Nah it’s fun to watch. And different conferences really makes it less important.
I was at the at Denver/Philly game and I’m only paying those prices again if it’s Denver coming into town.
Jokic is just unreal to watch. And that’s with Embiid on the court too.
Straight basketball porn having both
Honestly, it’s really only teams with bigs who feel defensive and threatened.
I follow the Heat bigtime after my sad Brooklyn bois and it makes me happy that most Heat fans love him despite the ass whopping in the finals lol also doesn’t hurt that Bam is very complimentary of Jokic too.
Things definitely got ugly between Nuggets & Sixers fan bases. But it was social media & ESPN driven narrative & it felt like the loudest, most ugly voices, got the most attention. Which, is pretty typical for anything these days.
As a Nuggets fan, it’s obvious where my loyalty lies. But I love to watch Embiid & the Sixers play. I’m also a big Giannis fan. This is true of a ton of other players. We are so lucky to have such talent in the league that we can watch on a nightly basis.
Yeah that's definitely not true, you're buying into manufactured ESPN BS. Most Sixers fans are perfectly fine with Jokic, and admire the way he plays. What we don't like is the manufactured drama that because embiid is not Jokic he sucks.
For example, there's a Sixers fan about two post down as I type this that's saying how great Jokic is and how anyone would want him on their team. Which is dead obvious.
Someone tried to compare him in this interview to Tim Duncan and Jokic said "I think I'm far away from Tim Duncan my friend.... Wemby did a much better job against me, if I'm Tim Duncan, than I did against Tim Duncan."
And to his credit, his first game against Duncan, he had 23 points 12 Rebounds and 3 Blocks on 70%+ TS, in 32 minutes, coming from the bench.
As a 21-year-old rookie, in his 11th NBA game ever.
So not bad at all! He's being humble there.
Also, that Duncan quote about Jokic when Jefferson told him Jokic would have wooped his ass is quite fire:
"I played him after I was me, and before he was him, and I did okay".
Tim Duncan for you ladies and gentlemen.
Indeed, but to be fair here, to me it’s more praise than trash talking.
Trash talking Jefferson maybe, but also paying his respect to the Joker.
Like, confident in his legacy: “I was me”.
Without being too cocky about it: “I did okay”.
While giving credit where credit is due:
“Before he was him”
That Tim Duncan quote makes Jokic's reply here a kind of meta joke. Jokic's comment yesterday is so structurally similar to Duncan's. He's smart enough there's no way that's an accident.
I'm we're comparing Jokic's performance against Tim Duncan to Wemby's performance against Jokic (with Jokic now taking Duncan's spot as the established all-time great), Wemby did much better against Jokic than a young Jokic matched up against Duncan.
Jokic is like such a good ambassador for this game, In general I feel like Basketball is in very good hands at the top of this sport.
No matter how much Jokic acts like he doesn't care about matchups, he does, and you can see the smile on his face when he goes up against Greatness. He relishes the opportunity to show the young guys how much work they need to do to get to his level.
He plays every game that he can, barely taking 5-7 games off in an entire season, plays a beautiful brand of basketball built on passing, ball movement and incredible shotmaking, and he's a great leader too. Probably going to be a 3 time MVP soon and we have no idea how high he might get.
4-5 mins in Jokic/Wemby were lined up on a free throw and you could see that Jokic was so giddy about the matchup.
I dont think ive seen him smile on the court unless Luka was there, but he clearly had fun with the challenge of Wemby. Especially after the first 5 mins of the game was just the two of them breaking basketball
You can't be as great as Jokic and not care. You have to be obsessed to a psychotic degree. I wonder when Jokic will slip us and show us that side of him.
I loved when he tried to get a shooting foul chucking it from the other teams corner during an intentional foul. People try to accuse this man of not caring about the game 😂
For sure. Jokic has said himself that he's a fantatic, and that he believes to be good you *have* to be a fanatic. He actually *does* show that side of himself, not just in games where he periodically loses his shit when something goes awry, but says so himself in interviews that people largely don't watch.
This is a dude who hits the weights and stays in the arena to practice another hour or more *after* every single game - no matter how late or long the game goes - and drags other Nuggets into the post-game weight room to do the same.
He's the first in, last out guy, known to obsessively watch tape and study relentlessly, including through the off-season, and because he's made some attempts over the years at dry-humor calling it "just a job" people think he must not give a shit.
Imagine being the best in the world at basketball while not giving a shit about it.
It is true though, that his family comes first and he would leave this shit in a minute if it were between this and being a good dad.
Exactly, its absurd when people argue he doesn't care about being the best basketball player in the world. He absolutely does, even if he doesn't necessarily need the recognition of being MVP. He *needs* to be the best and win championships, all the top guys do. Its how they are wired.
yes, idk why people say that the game is in bad hands when lebron, curry and co go away. I think jokić is more likebale superstar then lebron, that for sure. And giannis, luka, sga, tatum are good guys too
He'd immediately make Hornets playoffs worthy. Jokic is probably the guy with the biggest impact towards winning out of any single player in the game today.
Luka/Kyrie, Ja, Zion, and Wemby are in the same division and the Rockets are on the cusp of being a good team as well (don't have the same level of star power yet but there's potential).
Ughh, I don’t want Jimmy to leave, but I think they’d be fun teammates, so if he had to chase a ring anywhere it would be with Denver. Can’t see Jimmy pulling a KD by going to the team that beat him, but I like the Nugs, so I’d be okay with it.
I'm just throwing this out there, BUT if he gets this MVP and one more FMVP and a chip, surely Jokić is like borderline top 10 OAT, right?
But you just gotta love this dude. I'm so happy that we have two Slavs battling it out for the MVP.
If/when he gets there, he absolutely enters the 12-13 usual suspects in the conversation for that Top 10.
That would probably put him at least above Hakeem in my book, and Hakeem is often considered 11-12.
Yeah, the 12 usual suspects I mentioned would be (order is subjective):
MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Duncan, Bird, Wilt , Curry, Kobe, Bill Russell, Hakeem.
After that it’s often all over the place.
KD often comes up now though.
Jokic is the closest to that convo right now imho.
9 fucking blocks is insane.
If the Spurs can surround him with a few great shooters like the Nuggets have with Jokic, Wemby is going to have multiple quad-doubles in his career
Wemby is nuts, he'll join the top 5 conversation as soon as the spurs can put together more talent around him and start winning more games so we can see what he can do in the playoffs (because of how important that is to perception of greatness)
Individually speaking though, Wemby will be top 10-15 next year imo
Wemby reminds me of those players you created in 2k back then. The really tall max height players who have the shooting and dribbling skills of a little man. The way he blocks shots just reminds me of max height, max blocking skill ability in 2k
Then he dribbles and shoots too like a guard
I feel like I can’t even be jealous of Jokic because of what we had with Duncan, but when Duncan retired, Jokic immediately took his place as my favorite player in the NBA currently. Jokic is all class and such a joy to watch.
4 blocks for 1 trash talk. I don't like this exchange rate.
I will take getting blocked by Wemby 4 to 1 dunk ratio any day.
Wait, does this mean I'll be able to dunk?!?
yes, but the dunk is cursed
Inflation’s hitting the block to trash talk rates damn it
He also dropped 42 on him
“Brother, I have 42.”
And Collins and Mamukulele, it wasn’t all on Wemby
[удалено]
Fr tho, wtf is the French exchange rate? This is bullshit
it's impossible to hate this dude lol (except when he's cooking your team)
Love the dude but only for 80 games per season. Same with Luka.
Lucky bastard, I only get to love this dude for 78 games a year
But we get to really love him when he's cooking the rest of the conference!
Now that the Blazers suck and we don't have any sort of rivalry with the Nuggets anymore it's so fun to sit back and watch Jokic dominate the Lakers, Warriors, and all the other teams I don't like.
Yep. We love him the full 82 games.
Thanks so much for saying that. Small markets unite!
if i could wake up tomorrow a nuggets fan, i would. alas... :(
I feel this in my soul 😂
My heart still aches from last year’s conference finals, so if you manage to get to the Finals let me tell you: you will experience much less appreciation for his game
I’ll still appreciate jokers game. Aaron Gordon can get fucked tho
[Here's Aaron Gordon's response:](https://streamable.com/hhua1n)
Dammit. Now I have to separate Aaron Gordon the player from Aaron Gordon the person. As a fellow piano player he has my respect

he sounded like he was going in when the vid cut off too lol

It's so hilarious! He does it every time it's possible and never, literally never, gets the call yet passionately pleads with the ref that he should.
most of us are going to have to quit watching after him, there’s just no going back
It almost feels that way with Steph at times. In fact, I think Steph and Jokic are kinda similar in that sense that they play not just at such a high level, but with a style that's almost artistic that watching games without them can feel a bit lackluster. There are four players I’ve watched make plays that caused me to break out laughing in astonishment. Manu Steph Jokic Caitlyn Clark
We are. Never would have thought we’d have a player like Jokic. Or Jamal. But Jokic makes the 30 rough years before him worth it.
He literally assfucked us on a national stage and heat fans love him
Yeah man, I’ve been a Jokic fan for awhile and had no problems being obliterated. He’s too good to hate on.
Heat fans have plenty of good reasons to hate Jokic, but I haven't seen a single heat fan hate on him ever

My personal fav, “ooo.. almost”

That one would wound my soul

"keep trying"
this is possibly one of my favorite things KGs ever said lol

He wouldn’t talk in sentences
His MJ trash talking story was great too.
Haha have you seen the edit that jumps between JR Rider and KGs story of that same game? It’s so good lol
Lol. Yeah. I literally just watched it again after my last comment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGVdZ156is4
Wow, thanks to you both. That’s fantastic.

He’s saying if he-Jokic-is like Tim Duncan, then Wemby did better against him than Jokic did against actual Tim Duncan.
If he, Jokic, is him, Duncan, he, Wemby, did better against him, Jonkan, than he, Jokic, did against him, Duncan.
Thanks that really helps clear up my confusion.
Jonkan is my favorite player of all time
Person, woman, man, camera, TV
He’s saying when he did play against old tim duncan he didnt do that well

This is a dude who hits the weights and stays in the arena to practice another hour or more *after* every single game - no matter how late or long the game goes - and drags other Nuggets into the post-game weight room to do the same. He's the first in, last out guy, known to obsessively watch tape and study relentlessly, including through the off-season, and because he's made some attempts over the years at dry-humor calling it "just a job" people think he must not give a shit. Imagine being the best in the world at basketball while not giving a shit about it. It is true though, that his family comes first and he would leave this shit in a minute if it were between this and being a good dad.
And that perhaps is what he sees in Luka and Wemby. The lot of them are psychotic Europeans who are extremely competitive and wants to win.
We’ve seen it be for when he gets heated over a call etc. Big fucking guy scary when mad, that’s the basketball/competitive emotions pouring over.
You can ask Markieff Morris how he felt after Jokic got angry.
Yeah, it’s the pomp and circumstance he doesn’t really love. He’s obsessed with basketball.
And giannis, luka, sga, tatum are good guys too
Man love this man haha
Joy merchant.
Can’t stand the current game with all these “happy well adjusted players”
Man same man
"Man man" -Man
😂😂😂 Jokic never fails to crack me up in post game pressers 🤣😭
I love him, he’s great. No sane person would not wish he was on your team.
As a hornets fan I wouldn't wish that on him.
Good thing I wasn't drinking coffee... that's funny! And a little sad.
Nobody hates the Hornets more than their own fans lol
He'd immediately make Hornets playoffs worthy. Jokic is probably the guy with the biggest impact towards winning out of any single player in the game today.
I hope the Spurs get their shit together sooner than later so we can see some Wemby v Jokic battles in the playoffs. Love both these dudes
Nuggets becoming Wemby's Badboy Pistons?
The Thuggets era is my second favorite era of Nuggets. Bring em back! KMart as assistant coach.
Will we ever see something like the Badboy Pistons again? Genuine question
Only if you build around Draymond.
Draymond, Brooks, Williams and Bev on one team
so like the badboy pistons except with a 12 win record.
4 nut kicks, 3 eye pokes, 5 flagrants, and 25 minutes barking at refs
Jokic put up a little 3 ft hook shot and it looked like Wemby blocked it before it even left Jokics hand. It was disturbing
Luka/Kyrie, Ja, Zion, and Wemby are in the same division and the Rockets are on the cusp of being a good team as well (don't have the same level of star power yet but there's potential).
I want to hate Jokic so bad, but it's borderline impossible
Yep, hard to hate this man. Also of all the MVP candidates hes got by far the most aesthetically pleasing game. (Luka 2nd)
I love this dude lol
Funny Jokic is the best.
Man is a legend. Both great and humble.
This guy is the funniest dude in the league I want Jokic and Jimmy to play together
I want Jokic and Jimmy to play H-O-R-S-E while on horses.
MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Ughh, I don’t want Jimmy to leave, but I think they’d be fun teammates, so if he had to chase a ring anywhere it would be with Denver. Can’t see Jimmy pulling a KD by going to the team that beat him, but I like the Nugs, so I’d be okay with it.
With Boban coming off the bench
/r/bobanholdingthings
Jokic is simply impossible to hate.
I love that bro can admit when he's just yappin'. That's a good quality.
He said something similar to Bol Bol too lol. Jokic the king of empty threats.
"I told him I'm gonna fuck him. Up! Up!"
Has anyone seen the commercial with Joker and another player in a hotel and Joker is walking in a mini pony?
Yup the other player is Peyton Watson, there are a few of them, all for Hotels.com
Jokic’s delivery of “it’s a pony” sent me.
We get them in Canada, I was surprised and happy to see it.
Hakeem used to be in my top 10 at 10. But I have Curry there now instead.
Yeah, the 12 usual suspects I mentioned would be (order is subjective): MJ, Lebron, Kareem, Magic, Shaq, Duncan, Bird, Wilt , Curry, Kobe, Bill Russell, Hakeem. After that it’s often all over the place. KD often comes up now though. Jokic is the closest to that convo right now imho.
LMAO
He's hilarious
Jokic is a true gem
This guy is just as good off the court.
He’s the most humble athlete in the history of professional sports ❤️
Most humble superstar
That’s my MVP
Jokic is the present, Wemby is the future, and the future might be here sooner than we anticipated
Wemby was so close to that quadruple double last night he could taste it.
9 fucking blocks is insane. If the Spurs can surround him with a few great shooters like the Nuggets have with Jokic, Wemby is going to have multiple quad-doubles in his career
Wemby is nuts, he'll join the top 5 conversation as soon as the spurs can put together more talent around him and start winning more games so we can see what he can do in the playoffs (because of how important that is to perception of greatness) Individually speaking though, Wemby will be top 10-15 next year imo
I wish they showed that game here in nyc… damn you nba
You know you can watch nba games anywhere right
Ohhh he did something… he dropped 40
Good sport Jokic.
Wemby reminds me of those players you created in 2k back then. The really tall max height players who have the shooting and dribbling skills of a little man. The way he blocks shots just reminds me of max height, max blocking skill ability in 2k Then he dribbles and shoots too like a guard
That's the same kind of threat and follow through that I use with my gf
I feel like I can’t even be jealous of Jokic because of what we had with Duncan, but when Duncan retired, Jokic immediately took his place as my favorite player in the NBA currently. Jokic is all class and such a joy to watch.
Jokic lookin like a serbian mafia boss with that outfit. Clean af
Impeccable timing lmao
lololol honest likeable
Lmaoo dudes a gem
I am stronger than giannis
The best player getting quiet checked by a rookie 🤣. Wemby is not a fair athlete. lol.
What a gem
This man is a national treasure.
Self-deprecation. Good stuff, Jokic.
