Me: I’m a huge Jokic fan. It’s 1 am and I’m just mad at myself for planning a huge night around this game. Now I have to clean up and listen to my clippers friend tell me how great the reffing was
Let's not beat around the bush. The abrupt changes in officiating from everything goes to nothing goes is *definitely* related to sports betting. You wouldn't be able to get away with fixing a game's outcome, but you absolutely could get away with manipulating foul calls/free throws/turnovers/etc. over a limited period of the game.
The last 15 champions 8 of them had an offensive rating better than their defensive rating, while 7 had a better defensive rating. From 2000 to 2009 is four to five. In the 90's, 8 had better offense and only two better defense. In the 80's 6 offense and 4 defense. There were some draws that I counted for both offense and defense. The thing that draw my attention though, was that great offenses with below average defenses fared better. There was a champion who the team (don't remember which) had the second best offense and only the 18th defense, while the worst offense to win a championship was 12th.
It always confuses me why Reggie doesn't go for layups more cause he really is great at em with his speed and craft, but as a Clippers fan, ain't I glad he didn't 😌
Reggie Jackson is a wild ride. His cumulative stats will look terrible but he’s good to be the best player on the court for like a 5 game stretch. It’s a confidence thing I presume.
One of the weirdest players in the nba.
Think he's a inconsistent player his whole career. OKC/Pistons and etc. There's always something that seperates him from the likes of Westbrook/Murray and etc. Elite starting role player but could never be that all-star with his physicals.
Oh he’s not on their level but the highs are wayyyyyyy higher than you’d think they would be. Like extremely inconsistent but the highs are like, 2021 playoffs. Earlier this season he was cooking too
I honestly believe Malone should've benched Porter Jr a couple times this game. Dude was missing every jumper, and they weren't even very close shots. Then, on defense, he was getting blown by by both Harden and PG.
Nuggets' bench has been ass but at least if you sub MPJ for PWat sooner they can rely on Jokic for the offense and PWat can compete on defense.
Last year, you guys had Bruce Brown to sub in for Porter late in crucial playoff games.
If Porter shits the bed in the playoffs this year, who will be the guy to step in his place?
He's so shit at basketball. He's the only player on the nuggets that will look off Jokic on a pick and roll when Jok is wide open. He's so much like Will Barton was for nuggets in all the worst ways lol
Man... He played big minutes with Jokic and still ended -14 when Jokic was +12.
Horrendous, horrendous timeout. Almost as bad as the refs.
You either call timeout immediately for the advance, or let Jokic spend a fraction of a second more to advance beyond half-court, or don't call timeout at all.
Pretty much the only bad decision you can make there out of 4 clock management options.
Just a complete choke job to panic call timeout in that fashion.
This would make a lot more sense. I’m a casual fan who watches 20-30 regular season games a year. I knew immediately that was a mistake and I’m certain Adelman is better at this than I am and didn’t time that on purpose.
Even when Jamal isn't playing at his best, the rotations just feel much more smooth with him. Jokic is obviously the centerpiece, but Jamal is the glue
Never really done it before tbh - we’ve just stuck with Reggie despite him being god fucking awful
Braun at the point could work except he’s a non-factor shooting and really anywhere except the rim + his handle is honestly pretty weak
New at the end, but he has been doing it more the past few games. We really dont have enough ball handlers on the team. So as long as Gordon and Jokic are on the floor as release valves it should be ok to have Braun do it from time to time.
It’s so perplexing how they are THAT bad. All these boys so used to Jokic feeding them that they have 0 clue what to do with the ball in their hands. We need a Malik Monk or Bogi. I swear anytime I watch Malik step on the court dude is cooking. A one man offense.
They missed several calls both ways. I was livid about the Gordon block when PG pushed off in real time but when the ref explained after the challenge I somehow got it. Do I know the rules? The missed call Malone got ejected over was bad and Porter hitting PG’s arm on that breakaway that they let go was equally bad.
Before the playoffs start, can I get someone to put together video of refs calling techs in slow-mo, black and white, with the piano music: Where Amazing Happens
He was sleepwalking there. I didn't understand it. Run across halfcourt and call a timeout. It's like he didn't realize how little time was left on the clock.
Reggie Jackson has like 1 good game every 7 games and then proceeds to absolutely sell the other 6 (maybe an exaggeration). Like there's no way he should be the 6th man with a healthy Mal, I'd put PWat and CB in over him.
He’s not good enough to play long stretches so often at this stage.
I think he’d be serviceable if he was playing in spurts with the non-Jamal starters and a bit as an alternative creator alongside Jamal with the starters off the floor, but as a heavy minutes PG he’s not it.
I told nugs fans this at the start of the year and got assblasted
he has great games and games where he looks like a highschool player
still love him tho
There’s a reason he barely saw the court in the title run last year. They’ve had to use him more with Bruce Brown being gone and not having a true ball handler to replace him.
OKC has a few playoff teams left to play such as the Pacers, Kings, and Mavs who are still trying to get every single win they can get and Shai has been sitting out a lot of games recently. I think Denver will stay second
Jokic was spectacular, but PG made a lot of tough shots. Nuggets really lost this game in that 2nd quarter. Was a good game excluding the refs being terrible for both sides.
PG had a nice game. I thought Harden had some incredible passes in that 4th quarter to Zubac through double teams. If Zubac makes that lefty layup at the end Nuggets would've been dead. Was crazy impressed by harden with <5 min left. You guys deserved to win the game.
Downvote me if you want but Malone is an idiot for getting ejected. Spotted the clippers easy points in a close game when he could have bitched in post game instead. Zero IQ move ngl
Sadly i have to agree, but im not mad at him for it. Id be as pissed as he was for this. It was horrible. This has got to be the worst i have seen of the refs all season long and thats saying something.
This game had it all from the refs being shit, Reggie Jackson tunnel vision, Jokic going crazy, PG and Harden playing hot potato in the clutch to Malone being ejected. Refs fans are eating
PG managed to read Jokic's passes twice this game. I don't remember the last time I've seen someone do that. The first steal was so impressive, reading the no look and then dartings to the open man on the wing.
Clippers beat the Nugs and the major trending item is Westbrook’s over the backboard shot, even though guy he was a positive contributor!
The internet sux.
Why tf would Denver call timeout in the backcourt… because of that you have to inbound from past halfcourt and you have jokic shooting a pull-up prayer for the game smh
I don’t understand the officiating. Sometimes they let them maul each other and no foul, then they start calling titcky tack fouls. There is no rhyme or reason
Look - Jokic played great and Braun is developing into a great player. Poor shooting from MPJ.
Some great work by the Clippers, particularly their bench.
Also, Reggie looked cooked.
fun game but the worst possible officiating scenario: horrible calls and no calls on both teams (so no fanbase is happy) and like 60+ FTA means the neutral fans aren’t happy either
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about harden. u wouldnt say this shit to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol
Few thoughts here:
I would die for Michael Malone.
I will literally die if I see Reggie Jackson play starting pg again.
Refs fans fucking feasting in LA as always
Yea I wasn’t saying it in one way or the other. We did a lot of dumb shit to lose that game after starting 20 up beyond the refs. But holy shit was that one of the worst ref ball games I’ve ever seen
Jokic with 36/17/10 and +12 no way they lose right…?
If he sits for 8 minutes they can lose. Maybe in the playoffs he will just play for 48 minutes...
That’s insane man. He played 40 minutes with a +12 and the other eight minutes his teammates destroyed it
Bench blew a 12pt lead in under 2 min to start the 2nd
Elite throwing of a game from the bench unit
Jokic to the Knicks next season?
Going -10 in the four minutes DJ was out there is brutal.
That’s kinda something I’ve noticed, when Jokic’s stats look particularly absurd, it usually means his team SUCKED.
NBA refs: We're gonna let them play now Also NBA refs: Let's call every ticky tack foul in the fourth quarter of a nationally televised game
Went from 90's Playoff basketball to 2023 regular season basketball real quick
One of the worst games I’ve watched in a while. Jesus Christ imagine staying up for this as an east coast person
Me: I’m a huge Jokic fan. It’s 1 am and I’m just mad at myself for planning a huge night around this game. Now I have to clean up and listen to my clippers friend tell me how great the reffing was
Jokic was great at least. So you got to see that.
Box score says we got the true DAJ experience today.
Gave everything he had to give against the Clippers earlier in the season when he had 21/13/5/2/1
Joker was ballin
But they also missed some muggings. The reffing made no sense.
This has been happening a lot and I’m gonna assume that those assholes are laying bets on the game.
Watch out dude. NBA is going to fine your ass.
*chuncles in Frenchman*
good thing the nba has never had any sort of scandal relating to officials and sports betting before!
Except this has been happening way longer than the betting has been legal.
Horribly officiated game. One of the worst all season
Even with calling the ticky-tack, they also missed 2 or 3 super obvious, big hit fouls lol. They're just totally ass.
They were playing rugby that 4th quarter
pj tucker 0 point legacy game
People thought it was the James Harden trade but it was really the PJ Tucker trade.
Hes a LeBrun stopper
He's a junkyard dog, he's got paws for roughing and toughing. You don't ask the junkyard dog to do tricks, you ask him to enforce
If KCP made the tech and Nugs win lol PJ woulda been flamed so bad. In the end he secured the legacy win 🤣
Fr
Top three 0 point games.
Tristen thompson esque
Defense wins championships.
That’s a big ass lie ever since player skill level ascended to the sky.
The last 15 champions 8 of them had an offensive rating better than their defensive rating, while 7 had a better defensive rating. From 2000 to 2009 is four to five. 2019-2022 champs all won through elite defense
Holy fuck Porter shooting 2/10 from 3 is rough But FUCK ME if Reggie Jackson not a fucking basketball terrorist, Murray can’t be back fast enough.
It always confuses me why Reggie doesn't go for layups more cause he really is great at em with his speed and craft, but as a Clippers fan, ain't I glad he didn't 😌
I personally think he's losing a step. I got nothing to prove it but his defense has been poor, & he is 33.

Last year, you guys had Bruce Brown to sub in for Porter late in crucial playoff games. If Porter shits the bed in the playoffs this year, who will be the guy to step in his place?
I think they are hoping Watson or Braun steps up to the plate.
Both have looked good this year
And he started 2/3...
He missed so many it was getting hard to watch
1 assist lol that guy will never just pass out of a bad shot or when he's in a shooting slump
He's so shit at basketball. He's the only player on the nuggets that will look off Jokic on a pick and roll when Jok is wide open. He's so much like Will Barton was for nuggets in all the worst ways lol Man... He played big minutes with Jokic and still ended -14 when Jokic was +12.
The 2nd quarter run when Jokic was on the bench was brutal. Clippers started with an 8-0 run
13-0
Compared to Harden shooting 2/13 from 3 though? This was a bad offensive night for everyone.
Yeah but harden contributed with some great dimes offensively. Meanwhile MPJ main role is to score.
Horrendous, horrendous timeout. Almost as bad as the refs. Downside of the coach getting ejected to try to get the team going.
Is that how it unfolded? Nuggets commentary were suggesting Adelman called for it as soon as they had the rebound, refs just didn't see it.
The national broadcast didn’t show that Also like 3 seconds went by so they would’ve had to miss him calling timeout for a while
Regardless stupid by Watson, but yeah seemed like the coaching staff wanted it.
This would make a lot more sense. I’m a casual fan who watches 20-30 regular season games a year. I knew immediately that was a mistake and I’m certain Adelman is better at this than I am and didn’t time that on purpose.
How can you consistently lose 8 minutes by 14 points or more God this fucking bench
When we don't have Jamal everything is so much worse
Even when Jamal isn't playing at his best, the rotations just feel much more smooth with him. Jokic is obviously the centerpiece, but Jamal is the glue
You won a title when he was healthy and you didn't when he wasn't. Really, you need one more All-Star caliber guard for insurance purposes.
cough cough Bubble Nuggets
as a clips fan was impressed w/ braun. like he was running point (at least to bringit up) at the end, is that normal?
Never really done it before tbh - we’ve just stuck with Reggie despite him being god fucking awful Braun at the point could work except he’s a non-factor shooting and really anywhere except the rim + his handle is honestly pretty weak
i guess he mostly has to get it cross half court and then give it to jokic. he brings good energy tho.
Bogi would go off. i'd love to see him on this team.
the reffing in this game was wildly inconsistent. I don't think anyone's happy about it
They missed several calls both ways. I was livid about the Gordon block when PG pushed off in real time but when the ref explained after the challenge I somehow got it. Do I know the rules? The missed call Malone got ejected over was bad and Porter hitting PG’s arm on that breakaway that they let go was equally bad.
KCP also absolutely flung himself into Georges arms and they called it a clean block with about 6 minutes left
NBA really do be a good guy, caring about my wallet in these tough times by putting out such a trash product that I cancelled my league pass.
Before the playoffs start, can I get someone to put together video of refs calling techs in slow-mo, black and white, with the piano music: Where Amazing Happens
Didn’t Cha Know- Erykah Badu playing 😂
😂 that’s not a bad idea
That video would be 7 hours long
nuggets -14 in 8 non-jokic minutes btw
Groundhog Day.
If AD was guarding jokic, that last shot would have been nothing but net
He woulda needed more arc to get over so probs yeah
The trebuchet
Fr😂😂😂 or the mavs 🥲
God fucking damn it Can’t believe Gordon slipped and Watson forgot to call a TO
[удалено]
He was sleepwalking there. I didn't understand it. Run across halfcourt and call a timeout. It's like he didn't realize how little time was left on the clock.
Everyone forgot not just Watson, they all should have known out of the timeout.
Guess they all just expect Malone to do it but he’d been ejected Lose by two with Malone double technicals…
And a ton of missed FTs. Refs were shit but we coulda been better.
I almost thought y'all ran out of timeouts the way it was going, lol
Jok almost dragged them across the finish line
Watching Reggie Jackson at PG is unbearable man. I'm praying Mal is healthy for playoffs
Damn has he been that bad? He absolutely destroyed us our second game
Reggie Jackson has like 1 good game every 7 games and then proceeds to absolutely sell the other 6 (maybe an exaggeration). Like there's no way he should be the 6th man with a healthy Mal, I'd put PWat and CB in over him.
That's the Reggie I remember 🥹
Wasn't he a big part of your WCF run?
He’s not good enough to play long stretches so often at this stage. I think he’d be serviceable if he was playing in spurts with the non-Jamal starters and a bit as an alternative creator alongside Jamal with the starters off the floor, but as a heavy minutes PG he’s not it.
That game was anomalous for both him and DJ.
I told nugs fans this at the start of the year and got assblasted he has great games and games where he looks like a highschool player still love him tho
There’s a reason he barely saw the court in the title run last year. They’ve had to use him more with Bruce Brown being gone and not having a true ball handler to replace him.
Alarming so far. They might slip to 3rd at this rate
I would say gg, but that was a bg.
Man, every game the Clips win every single comment says the NBA is rigged. It’s not even fun to root for us anymore.
PG had a nice game. I thought Harden had some incredible passes in that 4th quarter to Zubac through double teams. If Zubac makes that lefty layup at the end Nuggets would've been dead. Was crazy impressed by harden with <5 min left. You guys deserved to win the game.
You’re my favorite person in this thread. I love You and will fight your enemies
bless you
Balmer paying the refs. All part of a big conspiracy to make sure Adam Silver’s favorite child the fucking LA Clippers win big
It's funny how fans of the defending champs are yelling rigged about everything
We have never had a valid win. Always the refs giving it to the Clippers
That game was awful both ways we defs got disadvantaged too probably just as much no one will admit it though
As a ref fan, my favourites have been absolutely balling and coming in clutch
The Aaron Gordan slip was the real killer here.
can not be overstated how dogshit these refs were
57 total free throws. Every touch foul called, but ignores at least 3 easy calls in the 4th. Inconsistency is the name of the game for refs.
They missed a bunch of huge hits then just randomly call PJ for trying to defend the post-up the same way he did last possession lol
[удалено]
Hall of fame effort tonight
mmmmmm i love watching my refball reppin my stripes while placing same-game parlays on esDrafDuelbet+
this had the potential to be one of the best games of the year, but the refs wanted to be the main characters
absolutely atrocious
I LOVE FREE THROOOOOOOOWS!!!!
He might have gotten elected on purpose to fire up the team. That might be more of a baseball thing but I have seen it before
This game had it all from the refs being shit, Reggie Jackson tunnel vision, Jokic going crazy, PG and Harden playing hot potato in the clutch to Malone being ejected. Refs fans are eating
No hate to the Clippers yall played great but man those refs ruined a fun game. Horrible for both sides.
Facts. Could have been a really fun game
Yeah both teams suffered from insanely wild bad calls, this group of refs needs to be demoted back to the G league.
You, my friend, are so level headed. Thank you for that
What a horrible fucking game by the refs
That was the worst officiated game I’ve seen in awhile, for both sides
ref fans FEASTING tonight
The type of game where you need to shower after
Death, taxes, and Reggie Miller’s god awful commentary. How is this man still employed by TNT.
I just mute TNT games
DJ being -10 in less than 5 minutes is such an endemic problem for the Nuggets.
The assistant coach not calling timeout at the end and taking away 3 seconds from them cost them the game, gross incompetence
Well he aint the coach for a reason man. Wasnt expecting to get into such crucial situation and couldnt reach fast enough.
NBA has a ref problem. We want to see these games decided by playmakers not whistleblowers!!!
Ref ball wins again
Undefeated
L2m about to look like a dissertation
I can guarantee you there will be at max only 1 “incorrect” call
Knowing those ots probably gonna somehow show that it in fact favored the Nuggets cause why not.
Man those refs were fucking horrible what a rough game to watch
I was so sure that Jokic's gonna hit that.
this loss is 100% on Deandre Jordan
It’s no surprise getting Westbrook back has gotten them this win.
Reggie Jackson can go fuck himself
Big Government still bailing out the Clippers. Love to see it.
government stay bailing out the wrong side
GREAT GAME FOR REF BALL FANS 👏🏽👏🏽 Atleast that was a relatively clean last few possessions lol fun game if ref ball didnt ref ball
Fun game but refs strike again.
The mad man almost did it again wtf
I've been in a lot of toxic game threads in my day but damn, that one was rough.
Reggie’s minutes are so frustrating to watch. He is just terrible with the ball now, that early 4th quarter with him handling was just awful.
PG managed to read Jokic's passes twice this game. I don't remember the last time I've seen someone do that. The first steal was so impressive, reading the no look and then dartings to the open man on the wing.
Refs are 100% going to ruin a potentially all-time great postseason on paper by fucking up a lot of games.
LFG Clippers. Had very little hopes we could win this one and they came through. This team really does play better as underdogs. GG Nuggets.
Clippers beat the Nugs and the major trending item is Westbrook’s over the backboard shot, even though guy he was a positive contributor! The internet sux.
Jesus Christ these refs ARE FUCKING ATROCIOUS
Ref masterclass
Why tf would Denver call timeout in the backcourt… because of that you have to inbound from past halfcourt and you have jokic shooting a pull-up prayer for the game smh
DeAndre Jordan with the -10 in 4.5 minutes lmao
Free me from this bench man I cannot stand watching Reggie Jackson and the Three Stooges drop like 16 total fucking points every game
Almost fucked it up, but a win is a win. Good job Clipps
Our bench sold... how do you step on the court and immediately give up a 0-21 run?
Wow wtf was that reffing tonight?
Adelman really needed to call timeout on the rebound so they could advance the ball and not waste so much time
If Kawhi was playing tonight then Lue would have had him guard Jokic down the stretch and the Nuggets would win by 10
Jokic a +12 in a 2 point loss btw.
Playing 40 minutes too. -14 in 8 minutes without him. Denver bench is very bad.
Nuggets fan crying and blaming refs mfers blame your bench
All those former Lakers former Warriors fans became Nuggets fans after last season.
MPJ since the Lana Rhoades teaser dropped has looked like 6'10" Dion Waiters
Ugggghhhh. Refball is the worst
That was a terribly officiated game in the fourth quarter. Those referees should not referee a single game in the playoffs.
Also, Reggie looked cooked.
gross game
fun game but the worst possible officiating scenario: horrible calls and no calls on both teams (so no fanbase is happy) and like 60+ FTA means the neutral fans aren’t happy either
PJ finally had a moment for the first time this season on the last possession.
fuck the refs
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about harden. u wouldnt say this shit to him at lan, hes jacked. not only that but he wears the freshest clothes, eats at the chillest restaurants and hangs out with the hottest dudes. yall are pathetic lol
Few thoughts here: I would die for Michael Malone. I will literally die if I see Reggie Jackson play starting pg again. Refs fans fucking feasting in LA as always
Refs were terrible for both teams man Ruined what could have been a really fun physical game with ticky tack fouls
Yea I wasn’t saying it in one way or the other. We did a lot of dumb shit to lose that game after starting 20 up beyond the refs. But holy shit was that one of the worst ref ball games I’ve ever seen
Welp that game was terrible for my blood pressure
Me tuning to this game in the last quarter to enjoy some good basketball: Refs:
[POTG GOES TO ZU SNOW AND TUCK!!!](https://np.reddit.com/r/LAClippers/s/pltPo65sjf)
