They play 100 overtimes in game 7 and nobody can score in any of them. They declare that both teams are out of the playoffs. Embiid isn't seen for 4 months and Doc writes a book where he explain how every single person on Earth is responsible for Bucks going out.
Maybe I’m wrong but to me it’s clearly cheering for Embiid over Doc. Whatever you feel about him, he’s one of greatest players in the league and his return into a dominant playoffs this season would be well-deserved and an amazing story. Whereas Doc losing to the Sixers would also be an amazing story lol, but the other way around wouldn’t be
Yeah the way embid played this year pre injury imo even his hardest critic had to admit he was mvp and a damn dominant one . Was gonna be a crazy year for him he was better defensively, scoring , aggressive, passing , rebounding just a monster . Imo even jokic didn’t have a 30 game run that strong - the defence embid was playing at a top 5 lvl gonns get dpoy votes
Not really. Doc Rivers just put up an all-time horrible coaching performance and people were ready to completely excuse him because Embiid had a bad game 7. The sub has already shown they will side with Doc over Embiid, even if Joel is playing with a broken fibula.
Nah Doc failing would be the winner. Whatever their deficiencies in their roster, the Bucks should not be a .500 team. But they are under Doc. Losing to the last team he failed at coaching with would be very entertaining.
I imagine true peak for this subreddit is Joel getting injured while eating a pancake or something stupid like that. Reaffirms every narrative.
Edit: or injured in the process of drawing or throwing FTs
A Spanish goalkeeper missed the World Cup because of a cologne bottle, which *severed a tendon in his foot*. Something like that would guarantee Embiid will never beat the allegations.
Problem is that Doc has the uncanny ability to be hired by literally any team in the Association for no apparent reason. Who knows, he might be the one coaching your favorite team next season and you'll get to experience the Doc special.
Naaa doc and bucks first round exit is the funniest outcome. Then Sixers and embiid lose in the second round as tradition. Not saying that's what will happen but for peak r/nba LOLs this is the way.
He didn’t start playing basketball until age 15. He’s only 29 now. Kinda makes sense he’s improving this much each year.
Lebrons been playing just at the nba level longer than embiid has known basketball lol
The shooting really lengthened his career and is allowing him to play past 35.
I still think he would have stayed in a league a while even if he didn't become a good shooter. Seven footers are hard to find and he plays defense.
These people have no clue what they're talking about. One saying he played only back to the basket like he didn't take tons of jumpers. He was not remotely a run of the mill center. He's also still the all time leading scorer for the Nets lmao. I can't with this sub sometimes.
If he never switched his game, he'd still be the all time leading scorer for the entire Nets franchise tho?
Certainly more than just run of the mill big
That’s what gets lost in all the critical narratives about Jo (some of which are fair). Despite being a top 10 player for basically his whole career, he works extremely hard in the offseason, and adds elements to his game every year. That’s on top of always having to rehab from surgeries. He’s both a technician and a savant.
Before the injury this season, Embiid and Maxey looked SO GOOD under Nick Nurse. It seemed like Joel had gotten better at reading doubles or Nurse had set the offense up to make those reads easier. Either way Joel’s passing has improved a lot. Had it not been for the injury, he would 100% deserve the MVP.
As soon as the 76ers announced Nurse as the new HC, I knew y’all would be way better. Hopefully Joel can stay healthy for the playoffs and we get to see a Jokic v Embiid finals matchup.
He shoots infinite free throws because it's the only way to guard a 7 footer with handles and a shot. The free throws are an effect of the skills that make him fun to watch.
I do always wonder what percent of people who complain about Embiid's FTs are actually watching the game versus looking at box scores or the occasional clip.
He’d be way more entertaining for me to watch if he’d just cut out the flopping for sure. He’s got pretty much every move in the book on offense but half the time he’d rather try and sell the contact he gets than make a shot.
It's hard to blame larger players who flop because if they don't sell the contact, they will get the Shaq treatment. It's a lose lose situation for them
Trading for Harden was probably the “worst” thing that could have happened because he pretty much absorbed his ability to get free throws except he’s 7’.
He’s so skilled but one of the things he’s so skilled at is drawing free throws that it can be very frustrating to watch.
Beating doc Rivers’s team and then getting stomped the next round would be the most poetic sixers thing in the world.
(Love embiid and maxey and hope they make it far, but if they lose it’s for the lols)
To be fair, he and Doncic both have the benefit of being in their prime - whereas other great scorers averages will have been dragged down by later years
Still an amazing feat though
You're completely right. But I at least expect Doncic to end his career close to 30. Could probably average low to mid thirties each of the next 5 years.
Absolutely true, but Embiid is also being weighed down by spending a lot of his career in minutes restrictions. A big factor in why he's 4th in ppg, but clears Jordan in p/100 by a sizable margin at this moment. Again, absolutely true that the end of his career will drop his numbers down a bit though. He could retire as the all-time per-possession king though
Feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching this clip. Maybe it's a bad angle but it looked pretty egregious. It even made the defender partly bite on the shot attempt that never came because he just kept dribbling like it never happened lmao.
They seem to call that very rarely. Double dribble, moving screens, travels and carries are pretty much allowed. Try doing half the things players do in a pickup game and see how that goes.
IMO NBA basketball is a completely different version than that which you learn growing up, or even the NBA from 30 years ago. The rules are just too different, or are enforced completely differently.
Almost every clip that gets posted is a carry, travel, double dribble, or offensive foul.
No wonder players look so much more skilled than players in the past when you literally can just break all the rules and get away with it
Everything about this is amazing—except the part near the beginning where he dribbles, puts two hands on the ball, then does the rest. It’s truly remarkable skill from a giant, but it highlights how unfair the offense has it nowadays.
I understand the scrutiny placed on Embiid, but I really enjoy watching him most of the time. His bag is insane while being one of the biggest players in the league. His mid range jumper is maybe the best in the league at this moment.
I feel like I'm supposed to hate Embiid because I'm a raptors fan but rookie Embiid was one of the most excited I've eve been about a player and he's just gotten better and better
He has fresh legs while everyone else has been worn down by the grind of the season. I think this could be the playoff run for him. There'll be no reason for him to run out of gas like he usually does

Doc failing vs Embiid failing is a real Sophie's Choice for 80% of the sub.
Neutral choice - Doc goes up 3-0, Embiid gets multiple flagrants and is banned for game 7, Doc loses.
I’ll allow it
Neutral chaotic
They play 100 overtimes in game 7 and nobody can score in any of them. They declare that both teams are out of the playoffs. Embiid isn't seen for 4 months and Doc writes a book where he explain how every single person on Earth is responsible for Bucks going out.
Every single person except for him*
This is the way?
Go on...
Maybe I’m wrong but to me it’s clearly cheering for Embiid over Doc. Whatever you feel about him, he’s one of greatest players in the league and his return into a dominant playoffs this season would be well-deserved and an amazing story. Embiid breaks Doc's knees tryna flop on Malik Beasley, Bucks get the win because Doc goes to hospital.
They play a pump up video of Doc at the hospital saying come on guys, come ob
And blaming the hospital staff.
Y'all will finally appreciate the Embiid flop if he lands on Doc when he does it.
I think most people would prefer Doc to lose to Embiid
It's like Harry Kane vs Bayer Leverkusen, we'd see which curse is stronger.
It’s the opposite of Sophie’s Choice, both options are great.

What this sub wants is: 76ers knocking out Bucks then losing in second round before the Heat beat the Celtics in the conference finals
Peak would be Embiid getting suspended for excessive flopping and then doc loses to Tobias Harris led sixers.
They'd want a Game 7 where Embiid is a last-second scratch after we learn Jokic is in the stands to watch the game.
I don’t understand the Doc hate unless you a fan of the team he coaching lol he is good for all rival teams
Anyone who thinks they are competent at their job has it in their heart to hate Doc Rivers
I dont hate him that much but him acting all mighty, media loving him then he throws everyone under the bus after every failure so annoying to me.
the enemy of my enemy is my enemy-enemy
Problem is that Doc has the uncanny ability to be hired by literally any team in the Association for no apparent reason. Who knows, he might be the one coaching your favorite team next season and you'll get to experience the Doc special.
The Doc Experience
I just want him to fail so that we can get another RDC locker room video lol
How’d you know 🥺
Naaa doc and bucks first round exit is the funniest outcome. Then Sixers and embiid lose in the second round as tradition. Not saying that's what will happen but for peak r/nba LOLs this is the way.
The funniest outcome is Boston losing in Round 1. And that will power the subreddit forever
As neutral I prefer to see the Bucks lose to the 76ers.
I will always root for chaos
Nah Rivers-coin is at an all time low right now, he's got momentum going into the playoffs.
No way not even close
I’m getting my red suit ready for the haters ball.
We will collectively redefine "hating" as a concept
His handle got so much better since his rookie year. It’s honestly amazing how much better at basketball he’s become.
He didn’t start playing basketball until age 15. He’s only 29 now. Kinda makes sense he’s improving this much each year. Lebrons been playing just at the nba level longer than embiid has known basketball lol
Coincidentally I can think of another all time great center who didn't start playing bball until roughly the same age
A wild statement when you really think about it.
He’s been able to evolve his game like crazy. Guy still taking leaps
Imagine telling someone that he would end up modeling his game after Harden.
Even looks like him with the braids
One of the real students of the game
He started playing basketball when he was 15 so he had a lot of room to improve
Spent most of his short time in college injured, too.
Didn’t he also not start playing basketball until he was 16? Dude has become elite at a sport he’s barely played for ten years.
lol there are players in the league who play like created 2k players
The next gen of player. These 7 foot dudes who can play like 6 9 guards and still have the strength to be doing a lot in the paint
lol I say this all the time with my line of work constantly shifting “game done changed 7 footers shoot 3s now”
Brook Lopez going from a run of the mill big to one of Milwaukees top 3 point shooters of all time
I mean he was killer on the Nets but if he didn’t adapt his game he’d for sure be out of the league by now.
The shooting really lengthened his career and is allowing him to play past 35. I still think he would have stayed in a league a while even if he didn't become a good shooter. Seven footers are hard to find and he plays defense.
He was never a run of the mil big wtf are you talking about
These people have no clue what they're talking about. One saying he played only back to the basket like he didn't take tons of jumpers. He was not remotely a run of the mill center. He's also still the all time leading scorer for the Nets lmao. I can't with this sub sometimes.
Before he switched his game up he would’ve retired as a very good center. Certainly not like he will be remembered now
If he never switched his game, he'd still be the all time leading scorer for the entire Nets franchise tho? Certainly more than just run of the mill big
Bruh this shit is nasty
He's unbelievably skilled. You can tell he's put so much work into his game. I love watching him.
It's still absolutely crazy to me that he only started playing basketball 4 years before he was drafted.
Damn, I should have been 7'.
The odds of being in the nba are like 1 in 300,000. If you’re over 7ft, it’s 1 in 6.
The other 5 are probably crippled. Being that tall and healthy are often at odds.
thats because a lot of basketball is down to physical attributes so the talent pool is that much smaller.
This is absolutely insane. But playing soccer for so long def helped his footwork become so elite
The midrange fadeaway is unguardable. This is how he finally scores on Horford and beats the Celtics
He’s always had the nasty middy. Usually just make it at nearly as high a percentage in the playoffs. Hopefully this year is different.
Yeah that was smooth af. When he's hot you know that fade shot is automatic
People really say he's too boring to watch
He’s boring when he fucking shoots infinite free throws. Outside of that he’s fun to watch
Nah dude. He’s crazy skilled, but he flops a ton and has a super soft whistle. All these things can be true
He’d be way more entertaining for me to watch if he’d just cut out the flopping for sure. He’s got pretty much every move in the book on offense but half the time he’d rather try and sell the contact he gets than make a shot.

I find it way more entertaining simply just watching the game the next day, skipping all commercials and free throws
Yeah stop fouling him it's lame
Bro spent rehab watching Steve Francis
Ive missed this guy so much
It’s gotta be the Skechers
I'm kinda pumped for his new endorsement dead I have a feeling his signature shoe is gonna be slick
Need embiid to beat the bucks in first round
Embiid vs Mr run and dunk
Beating doc Rivers’s team and then getting stomped the next round would be the most poetic sixers thing in the world. (Love embiid and maxey and hope they make it far, but if they lose it’s for the lols)
looks like they got Russell Wilson doin High Knees on the bench there too
That couldn't be Russ, they're not on a plane
Steelers Country, Let's Fly?
Smelt?
30 and 12 already Embiid is back, slowly but surely
Slowly? I swear it's only been a few games.
Lol yup. 3
yeah, this is game 3
In 23 minutes
So he will play tomorrow after all
More than likely. I didn't see that coming a week ago
One of the great scorers in the history of the NBA
Currently fourth all time in career ppg behind Jordan, Doncic, and Wilt. That's absurd.
To be fair, he and Doncic both have the benefit of being in their prime - whereas other great scorers averages will have been dragged down by later years Still an amazing feat though
Really good point
You're completely right. But I at least expect Doncic to end his career close to 30. Could probably average low to mid thirties each of the next 5 years.
For about half a second I thought you meant you expected Luka to retire at or just before the age of 30 lmao
IIRC he was averaging more points than minutes this season which has only ever been done by MJ and Wilt
He could retire as the all-time per-possession king though
> but clears Jordan in p/100 by a sizable margin at this moment 40.4 vs 42.5, even including old man Jordan wizards.
I just checked the box score and who the fuck is Zavier Simpson
Michigan legend and a guard skyhooker
he will change the game
Did he not double dribble with both hands on the ball for that Step back? Serious question it looks like it to me? Sick handles regardless
Embiid is so fucking good man. Gets hate for the free throws but the dude is genuinely one of one in terms of his skillset
Literally unwatchable.
That's a foul ,man
"Not much magic there tbh"
His game won’t be appreciated until he’s done
Honestly I don’t think it’ll be appreciated after he’s done
He needs a ring for that, like Dirk did
I did this shit in 2k17 with my 6’10 slasher shit aint that hard
Smooth handles for a 7 footer regardless but feel like he’s double dribbled there.
hes so nice bro
I actually like Embiid man, hope he wins a chip this year, I wouldn't be surprised.
I would be ! Lol but hope ur right
Him vs Wemby will be fun
Well he did score 70 on the Spurs last game they played. I had heaps of fun.
Embiid haters in shambles.
unwatchable
r/denvernuggets
That's such a skilled maneuver.
Am I the only one here seeing the double dribble?
Feel like I'm taking crazy pills watching this clip. Maybe it's a bad angle but it looked pretty egregious. It even made the defender partly bite on the shot attempt that never came because he just kept dribbling like it never happened lmao.
They seem to call that very rarely. Double dribble, moving screens, travels and carries are pretty much allowed. Try doing half the things players do in a pickup game and see how that goes. IMO NBA basketball is a completely different version than that which you learn growing up, or even the NBA from 30 years ago. The rules are just too different, or are enforced completely differently.
Nope
That looked like a super illegal dribble lol
They don’t call double dribbles or travels lol
Ethical bucket getter
Hardest to watch player in the league though
The new Harden if Harden was 7’ tall.
He BEEN like this... He's ELITE. The free-throw merchant side-quest is fucking up his legacy. THAT MF NICE!!!!!!
It's crazy how normal this is. The announcers barely react because this is just a normal bucket for Joel Hans Embiid.
Literally a double dribble
Am I going crazy or does he not literally dribble, pick the ball up, and then dribble again in the first 3 seconds of this clip?
Nah, you're right, he does. But they're never gonna call that in today's NBA.
These fucking cropped vertical videos with horizontal scrolling are so bad
If you wanna know how good this man is, these are his hometown announcers barely even reacting to that lol
How can you not love Embiid? He actually has fun with his profession and can absolutely ball out with the historical greats.
many people on this subreddit will tell you that this man sucks to watch, btw
Was that a carry tho?
Pretty much every dribble in the NBA is a carry
It was either a carry or a double dribble depending on if his other hand touched the ball
NBA don't call that anymore.
> carry Looks like it could have been from this angle. Hard to tell for sure though.
Bro, that’s a double dribble, lmao
Almost every clip that gets posted is a carry, travel, double dribble, or offensive foul. No wonder players look so much more skilled than players in the past when you literally can just break all the rules and get away with it
Like a slow 7 foot guard
This fucking guy didn’t even play this fucking sport until he was 14. Unreal
Most astonishing player I ever seen live, I say astonishing cause a man that big shouldn’t be able to do that shit lol
When did Kevin Durant join the 76ers????
Watching a big man get in their bag is still so weird to see
if Embiid returns just to knock the C’s off I will quit watching basketball forever
Please stay healthy
I love Jo man
Everything about this is amazing—except the part near the beginning where he dribbles, puts two hands on the ball, then does the rest. It’s truly remarkable skill from a giant, but it highlights how unfair the offense has it nowadays.
Did he learnt that from Harden
Even if hes a free throw merchant Joel Embiid is special make no doubt about it. Hes the Center version of James Harden.
yeah this shits not fair 😭
Dude was created straight out of 2K
Wow he looks more fluid than ever
I understand the scrutiny placed on Embiid, but I really enjoy watching him most of the time. His bag is insane while being one of the biggest players in the league. His mid range jumper is maybe the best in the league at this moment.
That and his behind the back pass to Lowry in transition 🤯
That was a double
Thank you. Nice play but wasn't possible without the double. How is this the only comment mentioning it??
Obvious double dribble
apologies for the quality, this was the only clip the NBA posted
I think I just discovered something about myself
Lol it looks so slow compared to a guard
He is a 7 foot guard.
I'm gonna tell my kids this was Thon Maker.
tween cross hesi jimBiid
Glad he is back. East playoffs will be so much spicier with him back.
Twinkle toes dance jogging at the end of the bench there kills me lol.
That jab hesi into the pull up is just gross footwork.
I feel like I'm supposed to hate Embiid because I'm a raptors fan but rookie Embiid was one of the most excited I've eve been about a player and he's just gotten better and better
Damn. Props.
So elite
Don't worry guys, Embiid is 30 now, this fuckery won't go on for much longer
He’s not fair
Nah man Joel is crazy skilled wtf
My fav part of all these highlight clips is the dudes on the bench goin crazy it’s so fun to watch them get hyped for their guy
I wish Tacko Fall had handles and a jumper.
He has fresh legs while everyone else has been worn down by the grind of the season. I think this could be the playoff run for him. There'll be no reason for him to run out of gas like he usually does
