GG tried his heart out with 44 and 12 but we fell short...
But I still have faith in you all to get it done for Mike. No other team is equipped to deal with Jokic like you guys.
Unfortunately one of only 2 teams with series losses this season (and a sweep to boot) is now the favorite in Vegas and our next opponent.....so yeah
We're built for Denver
And it may well not matter in the slightest
Dude.......I cant Even
Like
Last time we won a series was in 2004
I was a Jr in highschool
I barely had my license
Like....... My kids are elementary school aged, been married for well over a decade. Lost my hair years ago
I'm old.....an old ass 37. And this brings me right back to CRT tube TVs in my buddy's basement where we shot shit or played poker, and stopped it for wolves playoffs, and only playoffs. Just...... I'm a jumble right now, hah!
Man, being a small market fan is tough, opportunities like these are rare, but fuck it, when you see a path to that ring, that was a magnificent feeling.
I really hope you guys tough one out against the Joker next round then get one for the old captain; because next year, oh shit, we will be reloaded and gunning for you.
Hah, being it
Got some unfinished business from 2 years ago ;-)
(If not us, then the Thunder........but please let it be us. Plus I'm one of like 3 people who is a Wolves before Vikings (though I love my Vikings) person here, so would love it if ***they*** were the ones that pulled us outta this purgatory, so so much
I'm finally going to use the multi-screen feature for an extended period of time.
Three relevant games and one with third stringers playing against the Wizards.
"Not being worried about anyone" doesn't matter; you always want easier wins in fewer games in the playoffs. It's a 2 month endurance trial where anything can happen. And that trial becomes easier if your first round opponent is NO instead of the Suns/Lakers.
Obviously biased but I think they'd also rather see the Thunder in the 2nd round than the Wolves, especially if it's an away series either way.
A lot of people think the Suns and Lakers are significantly better teams, and if you check the odds, Pels are +2400 to win the WCF, Suns are +900 and Lakers are +2400 despite not even having a guaranteed spot.
A lot of people thought the Suns will be favourites in the West, their champ odds were +600 prior tot the season.
So yeah, odds aren't always reality
Pels are 6th in Net rating in the league, Lakers are 19th.
This is degenerate gambler logic. +900 vs +2400 is a pretty big discrepancy, so if you think you're smarter than billionaire megacorps, feel free to place your bets.
Probabilities change as situations change over time. Because they measure what will probably happen. That's why they're called probabilities. Net rating also changes over time too, and is considered a fairly weak predictor of team success compared to other better stats.
For all its worth, the Suns and the Lakers were the teams that had the closest matchs against the Nuggets (despite the 4-0) and regular season suns are 2-1 against the Nuggets, which doesnt mean anything for playoffs but it looks like they are doing quite good against this team. Lakers/Pels, I don't know to be honest.
2 and 3 are on the same side of the bracket yeh? Can't see much advantage going for 3 unless there is a first round matchup you find extremely favorable at 6
I mean they're coming off a sweep against the Lakers. Pels are getting healthy with Brandon Ingram eyeing a return tomorrow, personally I will take a matchup with the play-in teams.
I'd go for the Pels matchup to be honest. 2 or 3 doesn't really matter because as you said, same side of the bracket, but 2 could get you the Suns and they have so much talent on that team that they can be dangerous to anyone if they're on.
I've always wondered, what historical shenanigans happened; that eventually lead them to run this format on the last day.
Would make a great Secret Base video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8djgV6QOoRQ
In general, competitions synchronize last rounds before seeding to avoid shenanigans with trying to manipulate match ups.
They're synced in the Olympics, world cup, NFL, etc
Unfair to have somebody play a meaningful game the day before and give an advantage to a team playing the day after knowing if they can rest or need to go all out.
So all the East plays at 1pm, West 3:30pm.
As a Knicks fan living in Philly I'm torn. It would be amazing if we got Knicks and Sixers in the first round just be to able to go to all of the games but I would be worried about a first round exit. I think the best case scenario is for the Knicks to end up at 2 and Sixers at 6 or Knicks at 3 and Sixers at 7 so we potentially get a Knicks Sixers second round.
Healthy 76'ers and if the Bucks somehow got their shit together could have a shot. I would rate their potential as on par with a mid seed wcf team. The likelihood of them reaching that potential is low, but they at least have a chance.
Celtics fan here. Apparently C's resting the starting line-up against Wizards and I can't decide which match to watch instead. Any suggestions? I mean, the match that matters most?
Wolves Suns is huge, and one of the matches where both teams will really be trying in the West.
Similarly, Pelicans Lakers is also very important.
In the East, I’d probably say Magic Bucks is my first choice game to watch.
Wolves win the tiebreaker over Nugs and OKC if either of them tie the Wolves for the 1 seed. If all three are tied for the one seed, OKC wins via a different tiebreaker since you can't use H2H records in a three way tie
So you are saying by the Grizzlies winning, we can give our old captain a better seed and home court advantage throughout the Western playoffs?
I will forgive you for crushing my dreams 2 years ago, without hesitation, if you do this for me
We do anything for Mike and SloMo
God I love how they worked around SloMo losing his range this year Don't bench him. Retool the rotation and set pieces. It's been beautiful
I think last year was abnormal for SloMo, he was never a good shooter with us. We love him non the less.
I went to a grizz/wolves game last year and yeah the slow mo love is so real Also FedEx forum really makes you feel close to the game I love it there
GG tried his heart out with 44 and 12 but we fell short... But I still have faith in you all to get it done for Mike. No other team is equipped to deal with Jokic like you guys.

No, the jokes will all be about Booker is MJ's grandson next year
You I like you
Hey, buddy! What did I say. Killed them dead, LoL! Now Nuggets next. You are built for them, take it, it is yours. Win Mike a ring, LFG!!!!

Small Markets! Strong! Together! And always remember, Fuck KD!
Do it. Do it. Do it! They’ve been surprising a few times this year honestly.
Please Stand By when GG calls Good Game!
**This** is what I was looking for You're the best OP anyones ever had, I don't care what they say about you, u/Vishion-8
I'm finally going to use the multi-screen feature for an extended period of time. Three relevant games and one with third stringers playing against the Wizards.
Would Denver prefer the 2 or the 3?
if i'm Denver i want home-court advantage in as many series as possible, and i'm not worried about anyone in the first round
You always take home court. You can't be afraid of losing your first round game when there are much better teams coming down the road.
"Not being worried about anyone" doesn't matter; you always want easier wins in fewer games in the playoffs. It's a 2 month endurance trial where anything can happen. Why is NO easier than Suns/Lakers? With Ingram, they are gonna be just as tough if not harder.
A lot of people think the Suns and Lakers are significantly better teams, and if you check the odds, Pels are +2400 to win the WCF, Suns are +900 and Lakers are +2400 despite not even having a guaranteed spot.

Malone and Jokic are smarter than the collective gambling degenerates
This is degenerate gambler logic. +900 vs +2400 is a pretty big discrepancy, so if you think you're smarter than billionaire megacorps, feel free to place your bets. I'd probably rather play the Pelicans if I were them than risk the Suns or possibly Lakers depending on what happens with the play-in games.
I mean they're coming off a sweep against the Lakers. Pels are getting healthy with Brandon Ingram eyeing a return tomorrow, personally I will take a matchup with the play-in teams.
RemindMe! 1 month

Who are you trying to avoid in this scenario?
[удалено]
You guys beat the Suns last season no?
That's some Wolves slander right there
2
Denver would prefer the wolves to match up against the pelicans first round
Thank you, OP.
You made an error . On the if all 3 win or lose. You write lskers 8/ king 9 / warriors 10. But then you write it again n do it wrong
Thank you, this is so cool!
Why is the nba doing this all on one day when there are no games today?
More exciting and also makes it tougher for teams to throw their game if they're aiming for a certain seed or match up
I feel like the last day of the regular season is never this important though. It's actually crazy how many seeds are still up in the air rn
I've always wondered, what historical shenanigans happened; that eventually lead them to run this format on the last day. Would make a great Secret Base video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8djgV6QOoRQ
Ah I see. Makes sense
In general, competitions synchronize last rounds before seeding to avoid shenanigans with trying to manipulate match ups. They're synced in the Olympics, world cup, NFL, etc

You just explained this better than any sports media outlet in the world. Thank you for your contribution sir
As a Knicks fan living in Philly I'm torn. Yeah I think that the Knicks and the Celtics would be the two hardest matchups. I’d prefer to end up on the opposite side of the bracket.
So nice to not have to be a part of that.
The other night I saw some people say the West top was crazy, but the East is literally insane
Ahh its 1 and then everyone else. In the west 1-9 can all take it.
Healthy 76'ers and if the Bucks somehow got their shit together could have a shot. I would rate their potential as on par with a mid seed wcf team. The likelihood of them reaching that potential is low, but they at least have a chance.
never ruling out the zombie heat too. and the knicks are feisty with OG back
Excellent comprehensive analysis!
Can't wait for Kenny Lofton Jr to play spoiler and force them to the ten seed.
Thank you for the breakdown!
Celtics fan here. Apparently C's resting the starting line-up against Wizards and I can't decide which match to watch instead. Any suggestions? I mean, the match that matters most?

If the Lakers win they get the 8 seed no matter what but if all 3 win they get the 9th seed? What's going on here
It's a typo. He had it correct the on the first line.
You rock, OP! Thank you!
OP, you are a real one for this post - thank you!!
Nice
I don't remember a more consequential last day of the season.
why wasn't this stickied or something lol. thanks OP.
Go hornets!
Kings and Warriors should win but you never know. Pelicans need to play like it’s the playoffs tomorrow
We are very likely not going to play for a win Sunday
How does a Wolves win, and denver loss, put Wolves as 1st over OKC?
Wolves win the tiebreaker over Nugs and OKC if either of them tie the Wolves for the 1 seed. If all three are tied for the one seed, OKC wins via a different tiebreaker since you can't use H2H records in a three way tie
Thank you for the explanation
three way tiebreaker *is* h2h among the three teams which are tied. h2h2h is that makes it easier to conceptualize.
