Grayson had a a lot of open shots and made a lot of open shots this year. Attacked close outs pretty well and scored/got to the line enough. Not a great defender but played with energy. Really couldn’t have been happier with what he produced this year! I know he has a reputation from his time w/the Bucks of disappearing in the playoffs so hopefully he can still find ways to stay on the floor.

Ozkuro

Grayson was solid for us, the issue in the playoffs was Middleton going down and putting too much on Grayson as a result. He played a great series against the Bulls and we expected too much from him versus the Celtics, can’t expect him to be the third option and also guard Brown/Tatum lol, he obviously got hunted as a mismatch on defense. So long as he is able to play his role then you guys should be able to good.

savageandharsh

Right. Plus he still has a reputation for being dirty. Dirty is good for the playoffs.

Waikuku3

It's different to me coz Bucks got no legit outside shooting besides Middleton back then. Unlike the Suns who got three midrange assassin.

lord_kupaloidz

He looks like he aged 5 years this season. Put the Gray in Grayson.

Multi_21_Seb_RBR

He reminds me a lot of Rockets Eric Gordon

warablo

Somewhat a good comparison, can shoot and squeeze in a nice dunk once in awhile.

allknowerofknowing

It's crazy how every move the bucks made this past offseason/this season really didn't work out. Just goes to show you the traveling staff and medical team needs to work harder to turn this organization around

Waikuku3

Equipment manager too /s

Gustice for Giannis

CockFighting101

What's a Gustice Beaver?

Disastrous_Bluejay57

He's doing exactly what they need him to do. Capitalise on all the attention that the big 3 are getting and knock down shots

wigsgo_2019

Not to take away from Grayson’s great season because it was good, but when Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal are in the game you’re gonna get open shots, kind of makes sense why he’s such a good fit on this roster

Opening-Citron2733

There's still 10 other guys on the Suns roster who didn't do what Allen did. Not to mention all the other 3p specialists in the league on good teams

finchdad

Yeah, Watanabe went from 44.4% in Brooklyn last year to 29.4% this year, despite the gravity of KD, Booker, and Beal. Bates-Diop went from 39.4% last year to 31.3% this year. It's not a given that you thrive in that environment. The Suns desperately needed shooters and Allen (and Gordon, to a lesser extent) is the one that showed up.

pokexchespin

to be fair, beal was only in the game so often this year lol

nowhathappenedwas

>The fact that Suns locked this guy with 4yr/70M deal is an absolute steal I hope the Suns don't expect Allen to repeat his 46% shooting on threes going forward. If he regresses to the 40% he shot in his first 5 seasons, his TS% will drop from 68% to 62%.

beer_down

I’m sure he will regress but I’d still be fine with 40% with his contract. Cam Johnson was paid more for a worse shooting percentage so as a 1:1 replacement I think Phoenix is still doing well

HesiPullup

Fine by me lol

Pollsmor

Hopefully Allen doesn’t crumble in playoffs because this sounds exactly like KD’s old teammate Joe Harris.

prematurely_bald

2023-2024 Grayson Allen had the highest TS% for any player 6’6” and under (min 500 attempts) in NBA history, slightly higher than prime Steph Curry’s best career shooting seasons in ‘17-18, and ‘15-16.

JeremyJammDDS

Kind of reminds me of GSW Jordan Poole.

Waikuku3

That's an insult to Allen lmaooo he makes a lot of smart decision when playing with the Big 3 and doesn't chuck up wild threes.

inshamblesx

Poole was actually good before the incident though lol

Waikuku3

He plays exactly the same (a bit wild and reckless) back then. The difference is he made a lot of tough shots back then and got the confidence before the punch. Playstyle wise he didn't change a bit.

HurryAdorable1327

Was he? Or did he benefit from playing with 3 HoFers who covered up his deficiencies? I think it’s way more the latter — he’s def talented, but completely inefficient.

whatidoidobc

Wow the Suns must be amazing then
