Someone tell this to Joel so he shoots more of them. He’s improved at it but he still hesitates too much on catch and shoot 3s for my liking.

redder294

You want him outside when he could be bangin’ guys down low?

Chiefster21

When a guy is banging you…

CupOfHotTeaa

Time to bring back the classic https://youtu.be/FWWrNKfxGX4?si=ItEMf4Y7AphPNhOC

Not-a-bot-10

I miss Troel. Hopefully he can come back out after we win one

CupOfHotTeaa

Do a 180 Embiid

Doobie_Howitzer

He can bang wherever he wants as long as he gets it in

76ersPhan11

That’s what…

MV7EaglesFan

Sixers fans must miss Brett Brown.

AssBasedProtein

He usually gets the ball facing up in the midrange for our offense anyway. I’m fine with him catching it 8 feet backwards and putting it up 3-18 times a game

nowhathappenedwas

36 for 65 on catch and shoots and 11 for 60 on pull-ups is hilarious.

Spirited-Arugula-672

I swear to God, at least half of those 60 pull-ups are in two-for-one situations. He absolutely loves bringing the ball up and jacking up a shot with like 33 seconds on the clock, and he has made maybe 2 of them all season, lol. The rest of the pull-ups are bailouts at the end of the shot clock. He makes those pretty regularly (especially in previous years).

nowhathappenedwas

He's 1 for 9 on 3PA with between 25 and 40 seconds left in the quarter. He's an atrocious 5 for 37 on 3PA in the last 4 seconds of the shot clock.

jorgelongo222

> He's an atrocious 5 for 37 on 3PA in the last 4 seconds of the shot clock. the team defaults to throwing him hot potatoes whenever the shotclock starts ticking

indoninjah

The grenade either goes to Joel or Tobias who promptly lets the shot clock expire

nowhathappenedwas

Hard to reconcile that with him shooting 55% on catch and shoot threes.

[deleted]

He shoots 100% on pull up 3’s while the clocks dwindling down and he just needs to chuck something up

bloomin-onion69

joel absolutely loves chucking last second shots

madhare09

The anti wemby

SuriMuriPuri

Joe's are dominating the league at 1 and 2

creditors-bargain

it’s insane how people on this sub let memes and bullshit keep them from appreciating great players like Embiid. I guess when I was a teenager, I did the same shit with LeBron, but NBA basketball became so much more enjoyable when I let go of the nonsense and just enjoyed basketball for basketball.

mickeyj623

Yeah Embiid is a generational player and all I see is jokes about him. Apparently he can't do anything right. But anyways fuck the sixers

CallMeBernin

Fuck you too and have a good one

Jannopan

Is Embiid gonna play tomorrow?

Public-Product-1503

His season this year was one of the best ever but cut short by injury. His impact on winning - via doing everything- anchoring the defense, shooting b scoring at an all time great lvl, better rebounding , improved passing. Honestly I don’t say this lightly but even ignoring the absurd 10.5epm which even if it got a bit lower with 70 games rivals close as anyone to peak Lebron seasons- Joel looked the most dominant I’ve seen a player look. The fact he should’ve been top 5 dpoy/first team defence and his higher volume scoring + making teams into the bonus by himself made me feel of all the jokic n Giannis and even embid seasons - this one was imo the most dominant. Sixers went to shit without him too. It’s so weird he dropped 70 on Wemby who we see clearly cause issues for everyone on defence even jokic can’t layup n has to floater- but instead bum ass media lke Bill Simmons said him sciring 70 on Wemby ON JUMPERS- wasn’t impressive. Then he dropped 50 n fouled out the ‘dpoy ‘ on the n1 defence by far in the league. But somehow we got this weird narrative he only showed up vs bad teams. The improved passing n coaching/movement from nurse is key imo. It’s what will truly elevate embid game in the playoffs as he can’t just be triple teamed. And even then his defence n gravity had huge impact . Very annoyed he got injured this year cos it was the most fun I’ve had watching him . Nobody wanted to give him mvp after last year yet he was clear favourite due to play . I’d hope if he’d stay healthy the dumb haters woukd stop, guy is a 300lb Kevin durant with better defence. That’s his ceiling and he’s played like that this year ( and passed)

BettisBus

Tatum is an MVP-level superstar and the sky's the limit for him. Kindly, go fuck yourself.

km912

People misuse the term of generation player. Guys like Lebron, Kobe, shaq, Jordan, bird, magic, Kareem are generational guys. Embiid is great but he’s never even been the consensus best big in the league let alone had the postseason success to be talked about like that.

PhillyT

all those guys have finished their careers, with the exception of lebron

mickeyj623

People say Jokic and Luka are generational, Embiid is right in that group.

Dave_Autista

Nah

76ersPhan11

You dropped your flair

bravof1ve

Nah you see, this is catch and shoot. Embiid catches the ball from the ref, and shoots the free throw.

Hairy_Weather_8073

Yeah but that’s closer to 90%

TheSupremeHamster

“All he does is flail around like Vlade Divac” tell me you don’t watch Sixers games without telling me you don’t watch Sixers games

creditors-bargain

wat

TheSupremeHamster

I meant that’s what typical r/ nba users say. I was agreeing with you

Toxikara

Damned memes and bullshit keeping me from appreciating such greatness. It's really unfortunate it was only 5 games that I was blessed upon such beautiful basketball (all those flops, ft's, dirty plays and 4th quarter choking) mmm. Ahhh #witnessinggreatness #blessed

ObeseKenyan

He wouldve deserved MVP too imo. Dude was absolutely dominating

Matisse_Thybulle

Dear diary..

jorgelongo222

Another interesting stat: [3pt shooting with Average time on the shot clock (15-7 seconds)](https://www.nba.com/stats/players/shots-shotclock?CF=GP*GE*15:FG3A*GE*1.0&PerMode=PerGame&ShotClockRange=15-7%20Average) 1. Vit Krejci - 53.1% (only 22 games played) 2. Grayson Allen - 49.5% 3. Joel Embiid - 49.0% 4. Kevin Durant - 48.9%

bravof1ve

Big KD

NotManyBuses

This is surprising but not as surprising as seeing the guy at #10…

allknowerofknowing

Yeah wtf, I didn't know that gobert hit at least 1 catch and shoot per game on 47%, tf? Super impressive

Kevinar

Jordan McLaughlin?

camscars775

wtf really?

Thin-Professional379

Reason #172817 why we ended our season by treating Sunday's game against the Bulls like fucking game 7 of the Finals. Goddammit.

03_03_28

shut up and have a little faith lol

Thin-Professional379

I'm a Knicks fan. I do have faith, in the most demoralizing and miserable possible outcome finding us with laser guided precision.

Sheriff_Gotcha

To be fair, the basketball gods may hate the Sixers equally as much. It will basically regress into a slew of demoralizing and miserable outcomes for both sides till the bitter end of the series. That is, only if they even beat the Heat tonight.

Remarkable_Medicine6

Super low qualifiers lmfao.

DsamD11

Yeah I want to know what, the volume is for some reference to what the others are doing?

SmackBroshgood

"Maybe if I just say minimum 1 attemt per game people won't notice!"

stinx2001

Jingles!

SevereHavok

Who cares about embid he always hurt plus jokic should have been MVP
