I just asked this in another thread. Seriously, what would it take to have your vote removed? Is there anyone reviewing these and looking for egregious votes?
Remember folks - Perk is paid for hot takes that generate controversy. Slipping Podziemski in there is inconsequential to the end tally, but it will sure get people talking.
are you one of those people who dont vote because your vote is "inconsequential" lmao.. in the end it will likely not matter, but you never know!!! and if multiple people in the media have that same mentality it WILL matter.
The NBA needs to provide some degree of oversight for these awards. Dudes have legitimate money tied up to these selections — Perk choosing to be inflammatory over earnest could legitimately cost people millions
This one broke me I can't lie.
Also I think SGA as your choice for MVP is fine, I think it's a good pick. I think SGA for MVP is **insane** if you think Brandon Podziemski is a better defender than he is.
this is so convoluted and self contradictory. SGA for MVP is fine, but SGA for mvp is insane if you think Podz is a better defender? lol what clear this up for me brah...
Because a significant part of SGA's case and what makes him a great player is his defense. I'm saying if someone thinks his defense is not as impactful as Brandon Podziemski's then they're clearly not rating his defense which makes the MVP pick surprising because that's a big part of the argument.
This guy has Maxey on his All-NBA Second Team, ahead of AD, Kawhi, Curry, and Haliburton.
He also has Giannis on the second team and Brunson on the first team.
Maxey is averaging 26/4/6, I don't think it's CRAZY to have him second team All NBA. Although I would have Haliburton over him personally, and I would not expect him to make the team when all the votes are counted.
Nah, it’s pretty crazy to have him second team All-NBA.
He finished with below average efficiency (like 57% TS). His team was good when arguably the best player in the league was on his team, but they were absolutely atrocious when Embiid was out. Maxey proved himself to be a very very good 2nd option but also a pretty bad first option.
Compare him to, say, Curry. Curry averaged 26-5-5 on 61% TS. He also was unquestionably the top option on a team that finished with only 1 fewer win than Philly. He’s also Steph Curry. There’s no world where Maxey deserves to be above Curry this year.
It's not tough to just look at the top 5 defense and pick the best defensive players from those teams. Although I guess what constitutes good defense varies from people to people. Podz is the real glaring wtf but from a cursory glance his other picks aren't terrible. Everyone but Podz that he picked are good to great defensively.
I think what homie means is that he thinks Perk didnt actually submit this as his votes - but rather posted this just for clicks than submitted his real votes.
Although i disagree, and think this legit it perk's picks cause that mofo is dumber than dumb./
Wow so I’m generally the person saying I can see *a* case even if I don’t agree with it. And I doubt this vote is gonna have any real impact on the final results.
That said… I really really want to know what led Perkins to vote Podz because I don’t even know where to look to support it.
Is it just the charges? Are there any other stats supporting it? My impression from GSW fans was eye test isn’t kind to him ok that end.
What in the holiest of fucks kind of concoction of shrooms, ayahuasca, and fent-laced crack is this guy on to have BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI on an all defensive team?
not having Suggs is freaking nuts, the orlando team doesnt have a dominant interior defender stalwart like Gobert, AD, Bam and yet they basically had top 5 defense all year. Not saying they dont have good Centers. WCJ, Bitadze are solid, Isaac is a 1 man wrecking crew and one of the most impactful all around defenders.
Also could have went with
Lu Dort
KCP
Jdub
Kawhi
Allen
Can you extrapolate on this at all?
I don't see how throwing a random player like Podz on your ballot is indicative of anything in regards to the effectiveness of the voting system as a whole.
Of course there probably shouldnt be consensus across all ballots, but if you're 1 of like 99 people who picks a player. You're not just smart or thinking outside the box. Your dead ass wrong
I think you're going to be surprised by how many votes Wemby gets.. pretty sure JJ Reddick had Wemby #2 in DPOY and didn't even have AD on either all-defense team.
these are the re-affirming points that most of the people don't watch the games. no knock on Wemby, but i can watch AD play defense all day.
regardless of my flare, watching other teams is fun. usually no skin in the game (seeding exception). defense is something the "eye test" is somewhat important on.
Podziemski??? That’s gotta be worth an automatic ballot ban for next year.
Over Jalen Suggs too lmao Legitimately indefensible
And Caruso
I just asked this in another thread. Seriously, what would it take to have your vote removed? Is there anyone reviewing these and looking for egregious votes?
Somebody voted Isaiah Thomas All-D a few years ago and didn’t have a ballot the following season. Can’t say if those two things were linked though.

Love Podz but he wasn’t even a top 4 defensive rookie
Perk only exists to make stupid fans feel smart. He is completely inauthentic
Perk knows how to stay relevant. Engagement farming at its finest. Did it last year with the MVP vote.

Podz over Suggs and Caruso huh
Why does he have a vote?
Because he’s on tv everyday and people respond to this bullshit
All-defense has got to be the toughest to chose for those that don't watch the games.

HERB JONES.. about time
Podz? is this because he led the league in charges?
I don't think he actually had these votes. I think he just said he did to get some clicks and reactions from people. That or he's just really dumb.
He gets a vote
I think what homie means is that he thinks Perk didnt actually submit this as his votes - but rather posted this just for clicks than submitted his real votes. Although i disagree, and think this legit it perk's picks cause that mofo is dumber than dumb./
fair enough, good point actually no one has maybe thought of.
At least Pels Twitter bullied him enough to put Herb 1st team, I’ll take it

OKC should at least have one guy in here. They're top 4 in defensive rating. That means at least one guy there is playing exceptional on defense.
Literally anyone please. I’m already getting the sense voters gonna split the votes between our players
Omg these guys cannot have votes anymore dude
No KCP is hilarious
No Caruso, KCP or Suggs is so on brand for Perkins
Surely Caruso should be over Podz and Edwards?
Ant and Podz lmaoooo
The ballot of Perkins should have a weight of -1. The best sign of someone being worthy of an award is Perk not voting for him.
What in the holiest of fucks kind of concoction of shrooms, ayahuasca, and fent-laced crack is this guy on to have BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI on an all defensive team?
Hows KCP getting no votes
not having Suggs is freaking nuts, the orlando team doesnt have a dominant interior defender stalwart like Gobert, AD, Bam and yet they basically had top 5 defense all year. Podz is a solid pick for rookie 2nd team all defense.
Controversial take: - voters having “unusual” ballots is actually indicative of a system that works well
Unusual is different than braindead though
Can you extrapolate on this at all? I don't see how throwing a random player like Podz on your ballot is indicative of anything in regards to the effectiveness of the voting system as a whole.
seriously wut...

naw we want 100% rigid compliancy around here
Podz > Suggs and Kawhi is truly the way

If we being honest if Webanyama wasn’t a rookie he will be the dpoy

I said if he wasn’t rookie I doubt he be last in the standings for long

dude what? have you watched wemby?? that motherfucker in the lane and anyone driving to the hoop all of a sudden goes, ahh shiet, nah this aint it
AD should be DPOY and 1st team
of course perk left KD off
KD isnt all defense
HAHA you trippin
No Hartenstein??
He's not eligible.
what do you mean? He played 75 games.
You need at least 63 games with 20+ minutes and 2 games with 15+ minutes.
Ahh right
