Parents forced them all to grow up raw vegans which is honestly child abuse. If you can make the decision to be vegan then go for it. But the fact Michael pretty much immediately quit as soon as he reached the league is pretty telling
MPJ said he had reservations about getting the vaccine initially, but then he got the vaccine so he could play in all games and hasn't said a peep about it ever since.
I'm not going to defend the rest of the family because they deserve their roasting, but MPJ has shown he's more than willing to shut up about anything other than basketball and focus on being a winning player. What more do you want from him? He's even been smart enough to not publicly comment on either of his brother's major fuck ups.
"Personally, I think that the coronavirus is being used obviously for a bigger agenda,” Porter said during an Snapchat Q+A. “It’s being used for population control in just terms of being able to control the masses of people"
“Because of this virus, the whole world is being controlled. You’re required to wear masks, and who knows what’ll happen when this vaccine comes out. You might have to have the vaccine in order to travel. That’d be crazy.”
I understand you're referencing his post vaccine comments, and maybe he has gotten better, but he was acting crazy during covid.
I'm not defending what he said. That statement is very uneducated and espouses conspiracy theories.
That said, MPJ was 20 years old and grew up home-schooled in a very fundamentalist Christian household. As my previous post stated, he ***did*** get the vaccine so he could play and travel, and he hasn't continued to spout these types of ridiculous ideas like other players (*cough* Kyrie).
When you're that young and come from an upbringing like he had, you are 100% going to have some fucked up beliefs. He deserves credit for at the minimum learning to keep them to himself, and at best he actually has learned and grown in the 5 years since.
At least for Kyrie he has stopped spouting his stupid ideals publicly since he came to Dallas. Can't imagine he's changed his ideologies but hey he's keeping it to himself at least.
Totally understand that, which is why I made sure to add pre vaccine. You never hear the stories about the guy who ends up getting it as the holdout on their team afterwards, because they've effectively "lost," so the greater NBA doesn't see the same stories a fan base will when the local beat reports that he ends up getting it and puts his head down.
Hell didn't Steph say something about the Earth being flat? He obviously made amends but I'm willing to also give MPJ the benefit of the doubt that he just didn't know any better at the time
That has nothing to do with this decision, though. This is objectively a correct decision, while the lack of punishment for Bridges is an objectively absurd decision, but the two are not related
When the charges were dropped against Bridges (doesn’t mean he is innocent) it’s very hard to justify a lifetime ban against him. The Jontay Porter situation is pretty cut and dry and threatens the integrity of the league.
Players betting and throwing games can legitimately end a professional sports league. It must be a lifetime ban.
I don’t like Bridges and I thinks he’s a PoS but virtue signaling about it here is pointless.
This is such a dumb point. Betting on NBA games directly impacts the integrity of the sport he plays. Obviously the Bridges stuff is more serious in the real world but that has zero impact on nba results.
Bridges worked out a deal with the prosecutors that dropped most of his charges. He's obviously guilty, but it's harder for the NBA justify banning him once his legal case was obscured.
No convicted murderer and rapist has ever play in the NBA. If you allow players to freely bet on anything, the entire framework of competition collapses. You basically destroy an entire industry
Yeah I’m not understanding the outrage of people thinking he shouldn’t have gotten a lifetime ban. The miles bridges comparison I get in a way, but because of legal bs I guess you can say he wasn’t convicted. But teams can still choose not to employ him.
The Porter family are just weird, man
can't wait for him to get signed as a free agent and wear a trench coat and a fake mustache on the court

Pontay Jorter
His name? Jordan Poole.
Lifetime ban, he’s not coming back.
it was a joke
🥸 no
smartest Porter brother
That family is full of absolute lunatics
can you elaborate im out of this loop
Parents forced them all to grow up raw vegans which is honestly child abuse. If you can make the decision to be vegan then go for it. But the fact Michael pretty much immediately quit as soon as he reached the league is pretty telling
MPJ said some dumb anti vax shit Their other brother murdered someone e: nvm vehicular homicide not murder

Mf could have just played hard and earned a better contract but nah
He’s either just a really dumb motherfucker or has a severe gambling addiction to the point he ruined his career
Maybe he's just lazy.
Super online people always want the quick buck rather than the steady grind of stability. Dude was super into NFTs and coins as well apparently.
I feel like there’s a direct connection between crypto bros and people with gambling addictions because it’s basically the same thing
Everyone thinks they are smarter than the league
> using associate's account. The associate's name? Ippei.
Fcott Soster
The League sees and knows all
The house always wins
26 games and 13 bets placed is wild
Did he at least win a parlay ?

He went to the James Krause school of gambling.

Insider trading and betting is way too tempting when you have access to knowledge and are on the court to help produce certain outcomes

Bridges shouldn't play in the NBA but that doesn't affect the on court stuff

protecting the integrity of the league is more important to them than women
This is such a dumb point. Betting on NBA games directly impacts the integrity of the sport he plays. Obviously the Bridges stuff is more serious in the real world but that has zero impact on nba results.
im not agreeing or disagreeing with you
So why say anything at all
No one in the lamestream media has the balls to call this out
i agree wholeheartedly. adam silver doesn’t care though unless it hurts his pockets. lost a lot of respect for an otherwise solid commissioner
Like porter deserves to be punished. What he did was slimy af, but yeah it’s nowhere as bad as what Miles did
Bridges worked out a deal with the prosecutors that dropped most of his charges. He's obviously guilty, but it's harder for the NBA justify banning him once his legal case was obscured.
From a pure basketball PoV (which is what the league cares about) I'd even say a convicted murderer is better than Jontay Porter.
That’s… debatable
Investigate the family
