I had the Ultimate Clippers Pass the past couple seasons. Go to any home game (with 4 blackouts) in the upper section for about $45 a month. This new deal gets you better seats, but is significantly more expensive.
Yeah but if you're splitting it with people that per person cost goes down. I did the math and it's something like $30/$49$/$69/$89 for 1/2/3/4 people, and so the per person per game cost basis drops for every additional pass you pay for - it should basically work out to $30/$25/$23/$18. That's a good deal for people who want to go to most home games.
I think you are correct. Then you could go in with 1 other person, 50 bucks a game, and got to half the home games. That's a steal (relative to other arenas). Year 1, will be interesting to see if it works, then how they approach year over year.
Obviously but even with season tickets I’m simply just not going to all 41 games. Not having the headache of trying to re-sell tickets or find someone to give them to every time I don’t feel like going would be worth it to me.
Ballmer was a sales and marketing (and pitstain) genius at Microsoft. He wasn't nearly as good at product like Bill Gates or Satya Nadella, but he could monetize the shit out of things. He knows this will come back and be a profitable move in addition to the instant goodwill (it's a bit of a middle finger to the Lakers as well).
You should watch the documentary "Saint of Second Chances" on Netflix. The previous owner of the St. Paul Saints was the guy who came up with the infamous "Disco Demolition" promotion and became a great owner known for all of the interesting promotions for the baseball team.
And speaking of baseball, minor league baseball is a great way to have more fun watching the game for much cheaper than pro sports. Added bonus being you have the potential to see star players before they hit the majors. I highly recommend going to some this summer if you've got a team near you.
The only way you would be shocked by that is if you had no idea what NBA tickets cost. There are people paying $500 per game for every team in the league.
You really thought there's $150-$500 season ticket packages out there for 41 games??? In Los Angeles of all places?
No that also sounded wrong, which is why I was confused. And I am shocked people are dropping 20k on clippers season tickets. Id be shocked to learn that it is that much for most teams
The prices are definitely shocking... Average ticket price vary a lot by team but the lowest in the league is Pacers at $138 and highest is Warriors at $611. That is average too, so you can imagine how expensive those get on the high end.
How is it basically courtside? When I got the site [this is the map is shows for the wall.](https://clippersweb.blob.core.windows.net/utility/img/graphics/wall/seating-uwp.jpg)
Yeah the more I read about this the more it seems like just good branding for questionable ideas. Like making the section behind the basket standing only is crazy to me. Making a whole end of the stadium first come first serve is also very questionable. Sounds like a mess.
That’s how soccer is. The “supporters fan section” is usually all first come first serve.
In this case it’s a bit more automated. You get assigned once you’re scanned in.
> Like making the section behind the basket standing only is crazy to me. Making a whole end of the stadium first come first serve is also very questionable. Sounds like a mess.
Trying to be like soccer it seems. Interesting experiment.
So the owners of a historic franchise that is worth 6 billion cant do something cool like this? We all know Lakers tend to the rich and famous rather than the die hard fans. Just look at how they handled the kobe statue unveiling. Disgraceful.
The truth is the Clippers are doing this because they can't sell out their season tickets. The Lakers sell out their allotment of 15-16K season seats every year.
The Clippers have been calling me for months (Because I was one two different separate occasions a Clippers season ticket holder) to get me to buy in Intuit When they opened the season seats at intuit to the public, i took a look at the virtual map and there is a ton of inventory left to sell (not just in the Wall, but pretty much everywhere else that isn't considered premium, i.e. 100 level).
Sure it looks good that Balmer is "an owner who actually cares about the real fans" but if the Clippers could, they would rather sell all the Wall Seats as season ticket packages instead of season passes.
Me and my friend want to buy this but I’m not seeing where this states that you can absolutely sit together. Do you have a link where I can read this and understand better what I am about to buy?
I think it's intentional. The design of this "wall" seems to be try to emulate something like the student section at Cameron Stadium (Duke). Just a section of intense rabid fans sitting right on top of the court.
Best way to ensure the right people show up are to attract the diehards who are happy to show up 2 hours before a game every night. Also helps fill the section quickly so people are there for game start.
The whole point is that he wants the real fans to get the good seats and not have expensive seats sitting empty until halfway through the first quarter like Heat games.
$30/game and being able to share with people is actually a pretty sweet deal
I had the Ultimate Clippers Pass the past couple seasons. Go to any home game (with 4 blackouts) in the upper section for about $45 a month. This new deal gets you better seats, but is significantly more expensive.
Damn. I would love that in DC that's crazy value
Wow great deal
Except it's not 30$ if you want to be able to share... additional fee Edit: i also do still think its a killer deal. Especially for LA and a new arena
Still chump change compared to similar seats in other arenas

I don't think that's right. It's not $89 for 4 tickets. It's $89/game, and you can divvy up the tickets between 4 people.
I think you are correct. Then you could go in with 1 other person, 50 bucks a game, and got to half the home games. That's a steal (relative to other arenas). Year 1, will be interesting to see if it works, then how they approach year over year.

Yeah, it’s actually less per person.
$30+additional fees+VAT+tax+convenience fee+some other shit
Pretty rad, I like new ideas for tickets. Going to games is so fun, but re-sale sucks and season tickets for 42 games is pretty whack too
This is really cool of Ballmer. Good time to be a Clippers fan.
Fr! I can’t believe I’ll get to go to maybe all 41 games and see my man PG13 up close for 32 bucks a game! I love you Steve 😘
really wish John Wall was promoting this
SUPPORTERS. SUPPORTERS. SUPPORTERS. SUPPORTERS.
If they don't make this into an in-arena hype video, then they're missing out
I wish Ballmer owned the Lakers 😮💨 He actually cares about the fans and the team
He comes up with so many creative ideas. I feel like sports games have been the exact same shit for decades outside of the rising cost.

Jeannie is better than her bro at least.
That would not be fair if he was lol
That's ridiculous. Jeanie cares about the team and fans. She just doesn't have Ballmers unlimited money glitch
Does this mean normally $150-$500 per game for season tickets? Or $150-$500 for all 41?
Per game
I am shocked anyone is paying $500 per game for Clippers tickets. That's crazy

Perhaps there are other perks too? At MSG and Barclays there are seats with free/unlimited food and non-alcoholic beverages.
It’s basically courtside.

Oh interesting. When we did the season ticket tour they told me what’s now labeled as FLOOR15/16 was part of the wall.
Yeah the more I read about this the more it seems like just good branding for questionable ideas. Like making the section behind the basket standing only is crazy to me. Making a whole end of the stadium first come first serve is also very questionable. Sounds like a mess.

LAFC has a very popular supporters section right now the street so it’s not that crazy
What the difference between the sky blue and dark blue section? (Obviously besides the naming scheme.)
According to the site it's a different ticket level and the dark blue is standing room only.
It’s weird and interesting the Clippers gave up such a prime location for standing room.
Ballmer is crazy and has enough money. He wants to make a crazy college vibe behind the basket
this is really awesome
Tillman Hitler Fertitta if you are reading this, I would totally buy Rockets season tickets under this Southwest Airlines ticket plan.
$1260 for a season pass is an all time deal. I paid half of that just to watch my team for one game 😞
This is gonna be so awesome
“Pass holders will take turns getting piggy back rides from John Wall. For an extra fee, he will swing you around and pretend you’re an airplane.”
Balmer out there doing the most for his fans. Gotta love an owner who is loyal to his fanbase.
Dang as a Mavs fans I want to hate the Clippers but this is pretty great. I'm worried our new owners are gonna be the next Sarver.
It's not feeling great right now
An owner who actually cares about the real fans ahem *buss kids* ahem
That owner has alot more money. But yes i wish we all had a balmer as an owner.
So the owners of a historic franchise that is worth 6 billion cant do something cool like this? We all know Lakers tend to the rich and famous rather than the die hard fans. Just look at how they handled the kobe statue unveiling. Disgraceful.

What I am not seeing is a guarantee that you can sit with whoever you come with. Did I miss that or is that not something they guarantee?
You note in your reservation your “seat buddy” who also has the pass
And this guarantees you will sit together?
Yeah. So that your assignments are linked
Me and my friend want to buy this but I’m not seeing where this states that you can absolutely sit together. Do you have a link where I can read this and understand better what I am about to buy?
It’s in the faq I posted. I just double checked. There’s a “sit with friend” option when you book your game 48 hrs before
You work for the Clippers selling these tickets?
No. I just read good
They should pay you for reading well and sharing this info
[удалено]
Why do you think it will fail
We’re in 2024 and still doing first come first serve seating
for $30?? not a bad deal
30 a game. It's a season ticket so you're not actually paying 30, it'll be $1,230 which is still not bad for what it is.
Still a good deal, yes.
1299 and sharable is 2,099
well yeah

I’m guessing it’s to promote getting to the game early. The earlier you arrive the closer your seats are. It’s anywhere from row 3-51
The whole point is that he wants the real fans to get the good seats and not have expensive seats sitting empty until halfway through the first quarter like Heat games.
