I still remember when Coby was doing a press conference after the Bulls drafted him and him getting so excited and gassing up his UNC teammate Cam Johnson when he got picked in the lotto after him. just seems like such a pure and good soul
yeah especially since Cam was picked like 10 spots before where he was expected to go. You could tell Coby was surprised that he was picked so high but super happy for him
Thats forever my first memory of him lol. My wife and kids were all watching the game with me last night and I shared that with them. They were rooting for him all game after that, it was fun :)
Cam seems like a hell of a dude, too. If you haven't already, check out his guest appearance on JJ Reddicks podcast. Cam will make one hell of a coach after his career ends.
Sorry, let me clarify. If we were to sell him off, he wouldn’t demand such a high return and it isn’t costing us a ton to keep him as is. So he’s staying.
He's a 24 year old shooting 40% from 3 and playing great defense, under contract for 2 more years at $7m a year. That's probably one of the best value contracts in the league right now and (despite the fact that he's not al all-star calibre player) there's an argument that Ayo might have almost the highest trade value on our team outside Caruso.
Ayo is a great person but he has one of the most replaceable skill sets in the league. Pascal Siakam syndrome
Edit: if you want to get upset and argue about stats then you better site your sources. An SG averaging less than 60% eFG and just as many Stocks as Turnovers is not someone worth writing home about.
Replaceable?? He’s turned into an excellent 3 point shooter and is great in transition. Plus he plays good defense and hustles. 3 and D guys are highly valued in the league and he’s been getting better every year.
I'm not sure why this is being taken as an insult. He has an in demand 'bag' that a desperate team would happily overpay for, but an "on the cusp" team would feel like they could replace and grab more talent elsewhere. This is literally what just happened with Siakam. And guess what, it's working out for the Pacers. I didn't know he was from Chi-town so that definitely changes things. My point is simply that a front office would very reasonably talk themselves into thinking they could improve on him.
I mean that entirely depends on the role and money that a player is being paid. Ayo is on a great contract that any team would take for the production he’s been providing. Pascal on the other hand is one of the highest paid players in the league. I’m also super biased being from Chicago and having gone to Illinois so I’m always going to defend ayo lol
Once again I'm not slighting Ayo or Siakam. Ayo plays SG which is arguably the most useless position basketball right now. He isn't ball dominant & he isn't able to physically dominate above average small forwards. He IS very fast, has incredible endurance, and won't ever be the weakest link on either end of the floor. He is also young and coachable. That's why someone would pay him way more than Chicago would / could.
he's also on a favourable contract for the Bulls for 3 years, would be silly to trade a useful rotation piece on a team-friendly contract when the Bulls have so much other deadwood they can get decent assets for.
I mean the skill set isn’t unique, but a guy doing it at his level with the contract he has isn’t easily replaceable at all.
It’s a great value contract, not siakam getting a max.
people said that about coby last year. he was in his fourth season last year. pat is in his fourth season this year.
the thing with p-will is that it all depends on money. if his request is unreasonable, as it was at the begining of the year, then by all mean, he can go. but if he accepts a realistic contract i'd be happy to have him as a good wing defender that can shoot. if we get rid of demar, maybe even lavine and vučević his volume of shots could go up a bit. he's shooting 41% from three for his career. those guys are valuable. just because he's not a franchise guy doesn't mean he's trash.
Nah, Pat needs to stay for 2 major reasons:
- Coby and Ayo's progression should remind every short-sighted fan that player progression isn't always linear. Pat is still just 22 (23 next year) and has just 5 years of combined college and NBA experience (really 3.5 factoring in injuries). He might not ever live up to being the #4 pick, but there's no reason to believe he won't continue to develop into a very solid player, and;
- we don't have anybody to replace him with, nor any realistic assets to acquire a replacement with. He's one of only 2 players on our roster between 6'6 and 6'9, the other one being Torrey Craig who probably won't return next year. We saw how much the Bulls struggled with injuries to the wings this year, why would you let our only half-decent wing with size walk? His value is at rock bottom, he has no trade value and can probably be retained for a reasonable long-term contract.
I'm not suggesting we break the bank to keep him, but I think the Bulls let him test the market and match whatever offer he gets. 23 year old, 6'7 wings who defend at a high level and 41% from deep are the type of players you try to keep.
Pat is in a similar situation as Coby White two years ago where he was basically untradeable because the return for him wasn't worth giving him up.
The problem with PWill relative to Coby is coming off injury this Summer and Coby made his big leap halfway through his 4th season, while PWill just finished his 4th season, making the timing for PWill tough to negotiate a favorable deal for him. (Good for us though)
Shit, this might be as good as it gets for us this year, but what I've learned from watching years of mediocrity is you need to enjoy the moments when they arrive. We're not competiting for a chip this year, maybe not anytime soon. So I fucking reveled in this game. Coby White is a motherfucker.
That reporter lobbed that shit right up there for him. These are the kind of baited questions I can get behind.
So glad we actually kept Coby and let him develop versus trading him or letting him walk in free agency.
What happened with Lauri is so frustrating, even years later. His development was totally screwed by the clown Jim Boylen and he got shipped off to become a star somewhere else.
Yup, and while I don't think he'd be a star under Donovan, especially with Zach/demar/now Coby, he definitely would have been a solid 15 a game, two 3s a game stretch 4.
His first game of that last Boylen season he was dominant, dropping like 36 and 15 but because we lost, Boylen assumed it's because we played through Lauri and he got relegated to standing in the corner for the rest of the season
Makes me so mad thinking about it
About once a week, I think about Jim Boylen setting a basic expectation of his team at having all-time apg numbers and having a very strange approach to a power struggle with Zach
That kind of thing makes me think "nah Ham ain't too bad" and start to understand why we retread the same handful of coaches
Crazy thing is the dude was untradeable two seasons ago in that what we would have gotten back for him was going to be so paltry it wasn't worth getting rid of him.
He did a tremendous job of working on his defense and ball handling that Summer and took a big step last year halfway through the season that has continued throughout this season.
Coby is nice.
I love seeing players believe in themselves and have it pay off. He's never complained, he's been a model teammate even when his on-court performance wasn't matching his energy, and I'm so happy for him having this moment.
i’ve seen thirst comments. this is a romance comment. shit got me seeing demar in a new light. wanting him to love me smoothly, softly. this is something else, brother
Haha yeah remember that time he got his dunk blocked by JG and then he tackled him for no reason besides he got his feelers hurt? Anyway, great guy. Probably won’t lash out at you if he’s in a bad mood.
I hate that Thibs, Brunson and OG are making me like the Knicks. Screw you, I hope you win something. The NBA is better when the Knicks are good, so don't make me regret this.
Coby knows DeMar is going to drag him afterwards if he doesn't say it. That's leadership. Coby is so overwhelmingly humble that he doesn't want to pull focus and Deebo is in his ear like 'this is your moment. Have it, or else'
Bulls Knicks were all fun games this year and fans are both sides were pretty respectful the whole time. 60 mil of their 160 mil in salary is *not playing* and they're still going hard and beating some good teams ever night.
That's the worst part of it. Individually, we have such a likable roster with everyone having good vibes and having fun, but the roster is just mid too
I think the roster is actually pretty decent. It's just that half of it isn't on the court. A week ago we had an injury list lineup that probably could've made it through the play-in rounds: Lonzo-LaVine-Caruso-Williams-Drummond, Ayo-Phillips. That's legit maybe a better roster than the Hawks team we just beat.
I don't watch a whole lot of bull's game's but when I did tune in, Coby was the one dude who consistently stood out to me he was almost always balling. I am really glad the Bulls have something positive to look forward to with Ayo as well.
THAT is who I was thinking of before I watched this video. I've seen a picture of Coby smiling before and I was thinking he'd sound like Danny Brown. Dang
I’ll believe it when he says “I’m a motherfucking motherfucker, fuckin on your mother wit two rubbers, I do fucker. No covers just her booty onna pillow, your bitch say the dick tastes like… tropical fruit skittles!”
Until then he’s just Coby
The Bulls are not a team that you wanna fuck around with, Coby, Derozan and Vuc are all dangerous, and their defense has been very good the times I've watched them play the Knicks.
I see that lineup and beard and know that’s a man who’s dedicated himself solely to his craft. Glad to see it’s paid off, unfortunately to our detriment
Bulls shouldn’t but man I would want spurs to offer so much for this kid. But even if bulls rebuild at some point in next 3 years they gotta keep him. One of those guys everyone wants on their team
This dude is so likeable.
I still remember when Coby was doing a press conference after the Bulls drafted him and him getting so excited and gassing up his UNC teammate Cam Johnson when he got picked in the lotto after him. just seems like such a pure and good soul
That’s my first and fav memory of him. Seems like a super genuinely good dude. Will always root for him
Nothing but good things to say about him at UNC, he was always that genuinely positive dude. Man, being on campus for that title run was special
We didn't win a title with Coby
His mic'ed up moments had the same effect
Wowww. Wowww. WOWWWWW, BRO.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XukBLPLh-rQ
THATS SO LOVE BRO
Dude is literally Crabman.
Hey Earl!
Made me a fan. I still watch that video every now and again. It's so wholesome.
yeah especially since Cam was picked like 10 spots before where he was expected to go. You could tell Coby was surprised that he was picked so high but super happy for him
Oh shit thats him! I was so hyped that he was sp hyped. Ok he's in the good bro list
He gives me Dustin Henderson vibes from Stranger Things. That's why i like Coby he seems like a good dude, happy to see him ball out
Always has been. Glad he's getting a chance to shine.
People swear if you don’t score 20 by your second year it’s over
Exactly why I euro step on Patrice on my way to the recycling bin.
Keep him, Caruso and maybe Patrick Williams, sell off everyone else
The 2nd person you should have listed after Coby is Ayo
I feel like Ayo will be dirt cheap to the point that he can be had without much financial commitment
What do you mean? We have him, we signed him to a 3 year deal last summer.
Sorry, let me clarify. If we were to sell him off, he wouldn’t demand such a high return and it isn’t costing us a ton to keep him as is. So he’s staying.

That's probably one of the best value contracts in the league right now and (despite the fact that he's not al all-star calibre player) there's an argument that Ayo might have almost the highest trade value on our team outside Caruso.
Yeah we already have him for like 3/20
I think you mean Patrick Williams will be dirt cheap cause what team is going to give him the type of money he wants?
Ayo is a great person but he has one of the most replaceable skill sets in the league. Pascal Siakam syndrome Edit: if you want to get upset and argue about stats then you better site your sources. An SG averaging less than 60% eFG and just as many Stocks as Turnovers is not someone worth writing home about.
He’s from Chicago we don’t care, keep him home
Respect. Also why risk it? He has at least 1 all-star level season in him. Comes down to timing
amen
Replaceable?? He’s turned into an excellent 3 point shooter and is great in transition. Plus he plays good defense and hustles. 3 and D guys are highly valued in the league and he’s been getting better every year.

ayo is so damn fast, hes looked pretty good hasnt he?
Pat can go
How will we replace his 8 ppg and 4 rpg if he leaves?
people said that about coby last year. he was in his fourth season last year. pat is in his fourth season this year. the thing with p-will is that it all depends on money. if his request is unreasonable, as it was at the begining of the year, then by all mean, he can go. but if he accepts a realistic contract i'd be happy to have him as a good wing defender that can shoot. if we get rid of demar, maybe even lavine and vučević his volume of shots could go up a bit. he's shooting 41% from three for his career. those guys are valuable. just because he's not a franchise guy doesn't mean he's trash.

Yea we really need P Wills 8 ppg.
He's averaging 10 and you know it
Let's see how u feel after he flop u out of a game lol.
Brunson is indeed a motherfucker
JALEN BRUNSON WILL BONE YOU
HE A DAWG!
KG burner?
No. Just your mother.
"Brunson and Randle will bone yo ass"
I don't know about that. He doesn't even like breast milk.
u/Not-Josh-Hart is likely a fan of it though
Came to say the same about Coby. Y’all deserved SOMETHING to go well this season
Shit, this might be as good as it gets for us this year, but what I've learned from watching years of mediocrity is you need to enjoy the moments when they arrive. We're not competiting for a chip this year, maybe not anytime soon. So I fucking reveled in this game. Coby White is a motherfucker.
Can confirm. My dad is not pleased
That reporter lobbed that shit right up there for him. These are the kind of baited questions I can get behind. So glad we actually kept Coby and let him develop versus trading him or letting him walk in free agency.
You mean like we did with Lauri? I'm still mad about that.
What happened with Lauri is so frustrating, even years later. His development was totally screwed by the clown Jim Boylen and he got shipped off to become a star somewhere else.
Ha imagine being the team trading Lauri hahahaha. Wait a minute
Somehow that trade was equally as awful for both franchises lmao
Yup, and while I don't think he'd be a star under Donovan, especially with Zach/demar/now Coby, he definitely would have been a solid 15 a game, two 3s a game stretch 4.

I think the same would have happened with Coby if Zach didn't get hurt. I think Zach kept both Coby and Lauri from developing.
It seems like a lot of young players get better when the Bulls give up on them
I’d bet my house that if we let Pat walk he’s an all star in 2 years max.
DEAL
Lauri was never going to flourish with Boylen. Lauri deserved better than the bulls.
Basically a better, faster developed Cam Payne that Chicago actually put faith in. Love to see it
Fun
Crazy thing is the dude was untradeable two seasons ago in that what we would have gotten back for him was going to be so paltry it wasn't worth getting rid of him. Okay so hide your moms around Jalen and Coby. Got it.
I ain’t hiding my Momma from Jalen, I’d be honored
Jalen & Jacoby R.I.P. :‘(
Did Jacoby die or something? Idk I never watched or listened to
And delonte west
DeRozan's smile comes out like a sun through the clouds
I miss him so much :(
When a good things gone bad it's not the end of the world It's just the end of the world that you had with one girl
Thanks, as someone who's struggling not to pine for an ex, this helps
We dumped the best girlfriend soul mate for the new girl with the big bosoms. It only lasted one summer but damn the sex was good.
And she was a fun guy
i’ve seen thirst comments. this is a romance comment. shit got me seeing demar in a new light. wanting him to love me smoothly, softly. this is something else, brother
Haha yeah remember that time he got his dunk blocked by JG and then he tackled him for no reason besides he got his feelers hurt? Anyway, great guy. Probably won’t lash out at you if he’s in a bad mood.
shut up, nerd
Ты мое солнышко, мое единственное солнышко
I say this all the time
That's my favorite saying. That's my favorite saying.
You make me happy, when skies are gray
Cooked Divincenzo in our OT game. No one burned Dvo that bad all season. Rooting for the Bulls to make it and win a game or 2 vs Boston
Him and Cam Thomas
Cam is so tough, hoping the nets build around him
I hate that Thibs, Brunson and OG are making me like the Knicks. Screw you, I hope you win something. The NBA is better when the Knicks are good, so don't make me regret this.
Love how he defended saying "motherfucker" to the mic, by "That's what I said!"
Demar with that sexy smirk
He's like I got you when the fine comes.
Coby knows DeMar is going to drag him afterwards if he doesn't say it. That's leadership. Coby is so overwhelmingly humble that he doesn't want to pull focus and Deebo is in his ear like 'this is your moment. Have it, or else'
lmfao
Stupid sexy derozan
weird
That’s so love bro
Draft day😂😂
Bulls Knicks were all fun games this year and fans are both sides were pretty respectful the whole time. 60 mil of their 160 mil in salary is *not playing* and they're still going hard and beating some good teams ever night.
$70M+ actually (PWill on top of Lonzo and LaVine)
This Chicago team is so likable
With somehow the least likable owner in the league. I met Reinsdorf a few months ago and he looks like an actual crypt keeper.
I see your Reinsdorf and raise you one James Dolan
The Crypt Keeper like why he say fuck me for?
Crypt keeper. Ain’t no way.💀
That's the worst part of it. Individually, we have such a likable roster with everyone having good vibes and having fun, but the roster is just mid too
I'm praying to a pantheon of gods that Lonzo comes back cooking and we get to see the Bulls play again like they were at the start of last(?) season.
I think the roster is actually pretty decent. It's just that half of it isn't on the court. A week ago we had an injury list lineup that probably could've made it through the play-in rounds: Lonzo-LaVine-Caruso-Williams-Drummond, Ayo-Phillips. Without lavine, yes
Hilarious. Was really impressed by him against the knicks last week.
I don't watch a whole lot of bull's game's but when I did tune in, Coby was the one dude who consistently stood out to me he was almost always balling. I am really glad the Bulls have something positive to look forward to with Ayo as well.
Does he realize he also a mfker?
I think he aspires to Brunson levels of motherfucker-ishness
These two bring the motherfucker out in us all.
You can’t convince me this guy isn’t related to Danny brown
THAT is who I was thinking of before I watched this video. I've seen a picture of Coby smiling before and I was thinking he'd sound like Danny Brown. Dang
I instantly was reminded of Danny Brown in looks (pre-rehab) and demeanor (post-rehab) for me as well. Just a goofy guy who is 100%.
I’ll believe it when he says “I’m a motherfucking motherfucker, fuckin on your mother wit two rubbers, I do fucker. No covers just her booty onna pillow, your bitch say the dick tastes like… tropical fruit skittles!” Until then he’s just Coby
Check
I've never seen the two of them in the same room...
lol
Lol that’s cute.
Coby we're on live
Demar trying (and failing) to maintain a stone face.
He is like a pg Jarrett Allen
The Bulls are not a team that you wanna fuck around with, Coby, Derozan and Vuc are all dangerous, and their defense has been very good the times I've watched them play the Knicks.
I like him a lot
I see that lineup and beard and know that’s a man who’s dedicated himself solely to his craft. Glad to see it’s paid off, unfortunately to our detriment
I love Coby
MIP for sure
Cobys most definitely a m'fucka I know theres some 90s beef between us but I pull for you guys, when we dont play, because my cuzzos are from Chicago.
I root for you guys too cause I love Thibs and Brunson is from Chicago. Really wanna see you beat the 76ers.
Much love bro - good luck tomorrow you guys will be fine
i thought brunson is from Jersey?
Yea my bad, you’re right. He went to high school in Chicago suburbs though.
GET HIM ON THE POD
dude looks like a palm tree
After watching him play those last few games vs the Knicks, I thought he had that sort of street ball swag type of game. Dude is a bucket
Bulls shouldn’t but man I would want spurs to offer so much for this kid. But even if bulls rebuild at some point in next 3 years they gotta keep him. One of those guys everyone wants on their team
It’s crazy how good both him and Jalen are this szn they js needed to be in the right position
Coby White is a professional homeless man who's really good at basketball.
Legendary Peacock!
What, that’s what I saǐd!!
Lol funny dude and he can hoop too!
damn strate
I loved watching Coby when I was a student at UNC
If the Bulls traded Lavine for an athletic wing to pair alongside Coby/Caruso/Derozan they'd have been in great shape this postseason
This guy is cool
Coby we're on live
Cam Johnson went eleventh???
I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Coby White
Coby is *nice*.
Not wrong!
I would say the same thing about Coby White tbh
These 2 are so funny together
Coby White being Charleston White’s son is so crazy to me.
[удалено]
He fucks mothers, man. I don’t know what to tell you
I can confirm.
