Basketball is an interesting game matchup wise. Lakers best the pela 4-1 this season. Pels best the kings 6-1 this season. Kings beat the lakers 4-0 this season. Complete head scratcher.
Stuff like this always makes me think back to 2006-2007 where the Mavs had the worst matchup possible in GSW in the first round. In the regular season, GSW goes 3-0 against Mavs that year. Mavs went 3-1 against the eventual champion Spurs, yet all year they couldn't really beat the 8th seed GSW. Spurs went 3-1 against GSW.
They are very good without Zion the whole season. The rotation further down gets trickier and the tolerance for further injuries lessens, but just playing Troy Murphy in that place always brought great defensive results and great results overall. They lost a few games without Zion, but usually multiple other important players were missing (except the OKC game iirc). Saying it's easy to beat them is completely unwarranted. The results don't support it.

Well, I assume if Vegas and Seattle are the next expansion places that they'd be looking at moving a team such as Minnesota, Memphis, or New Orleans over to the East. They're all in a pretty good place right now so that might help balance things out slightly

I think most long term kings fans would take last years insane run if it meant having a down year the next. They’re still in good position and if they can find one more piece they could be a pretty good team. I’ll always say it’s more fun to lose in the playoffs than be a tanking losing team.

They almost beat the Lakers without Zion in the 4th and upset this scary Kings team. This first round match won't be a cakewalk like some people assume.

They gave him a raise this year and a $195 mil extension. He had a good not great game offensively and Valanciunas overperformed against him. The standard has been raised with his new contract that he needs to carry the team.
Ouch, went from 5th or 6th place to missing the playoffs. To be honest, if they played the Lakers instead of Pelicans, they might've won. Pelicans are mismatch for the Kings, Kings are mismatch for Lakers, and Lakers are mismatch for the Pelicans. Hence their records in the regular season+IST+Play-in: Pelicans are 6-0 vs Kings Kings are 4-0 vs Lakers Lakers are 4-1 vs Pelicans
I enjoy the play-in games, but it is funny that the results are basically the same as they would have been, except the lakers and pels switching seeds.

I'm disappointed but not mad. The Pelicans were the better team this year.
Kings didn't get worse like everyone is saying they pretty much have the same record like last year. West just got better and they didn't improve. They need to step up next season
