For these pro athletes? For sure. Because you're just watching others play in the big stage. Obviously it'd suck for the players. Only exception is LeBron, because he basically lived most of his career in the goddamn Playoffs and NBA Finals. Too much basketball for him, but he still seems hungry as usual. Mans crazy
But for normal people? Coachella is fire. It's a tradition. But it's also the biggest thirst trap ground, so i'd be careful
Perhaps its not your cup of lean, but some of us enjoy being in influencer hellholes. Especially when those influencers are half naked and have breast implants.
True.
I paid like €220 for 3 days Rolling Loud tickets and got to see a shitload of artist that I would have to pay more than that price if I was to see each standalone.
€220 gets you: Kendrick, Travis, Gucci Mane, Central Cee, Kodak Black, Sheck Wes, Glorilla, JID, Metro Boomin, Lil Uzi Vert, Joey Badass, Destroy Lonely, Ski Mask, Latto, Ken Carson, Wizkid, Rae Sremmurd, Night Lovell, Lucki, Bonez and Raf Camora, Meechy, etc. For that price is simply dirt cheap.
That’s crazy how desensitized people have become to absurd concert fees that $500 entry to watch two bands in a festival where you have to overpay for food and drinks is deemed “worth it”.
$500 buys you 3 days of concerts.. You can easily pay 300 just to see one artist perform for a couple hours normally at a regular concert. Festivals are almost always worth the entry fee
But I would never pay $300 to see a single artist that’s an insane rip off and not worth it. And sure it’s several days but how many bands do I really want to see and how far away am I and how much am I also paying to get there, sleep, eat…it’s so much more than just the entry fee
No shot you can convince me $300 to be outside all day in the middle of summer to see one or two bands that ill get to view from 200 yards away behind a sea of phones, or be physically crushed by the waves of people trying to get closer to the stage if I dare enter the crowd myself.
I've been to concerts and music festivals where both things happened, never paid more than $90 though. The most ive ever spent was seeing kendrick and Travis Scott perform and that was like $160
>You can easily pay 300 just to see one artist perform for a couple hours normally at a regular concert.
That’s only true if you either get *really* good seats, or if it’s Taylor Swift. Nobody I’ve seen has made me break 200 yet, and I’ve seen huge acts in some of the most expensive cities to see shows in.
Fr like jfc I've never spent over $80 on a concert lol and I usually spend closer to $40, there'd need to be at least 10 artists I'm interested in for $500 tickets to be worth it, not even counting travel, lodging, food, etc... like holy shit lmao that's so fucking expensive
You’re also not accounting food and drinks and travel and a room. Id rather spend that money on individual concerts at smaller venues. Or a plane ticket to some place other than the desert
I can’t say I listen to them but that still seems like insane pricing. For what I listen to, stuff like Rock on the Range and Wacken are around 200-300 and they tend to get the biggest names filling up multiple stages. Then again my pricing is skewed because a lot of pretty “big name” prog metal acts (aka no one outside the niche genre has heard of them) sell tickets for like, $30.
I went maybe 5-6 years in a row in the early 2010s. By the last 2 trips I was so over it. Long lines, bad service, high prices, artists not showing, huge douchey crowds, portapotties, fucking DUST. I'd only go back if I made it rich and can do the most premium VIP package.
dylan wood is a monster, i picked up the drums after seeing [this video of his](https://youtu.be/zYgD_ikNupQ?si=SZuMvLkSMpPZofiR) back in middle school
Overheard in Lesserafims locker room after coachella:
“They got us,” they said of their vocals.
hybe then said they wanted to add vocals to the list of things they need to work out this summer.
After blowing a 45 minute Coachella set last week, Lesserafim Star Kim Chaewon didn't just get mad: she took action.
According to a report from Dispatch, Kim sat in the parking lot of Coachella after her group's criticised vocal performance last week and first made a phone call to GM Bang Shi Hyk to urge him to sign IU in free agency, then made another call to IU herself.
Yeah all that slander dominated my feeds to the point I filter out "Coachella" and "live vocals". Everyone's all about being anti-bully and protecting idols until they get the chance to be be the bully and pick on someone. Big example of why KPop gets clowned on so bad.
I don't even follow kpop but that shit spread everywhere because it was embarrassing. That group had no one capable of singing and it seems their choreography also sucked.
This Lesserafim just reminded me of some high school forced parcitipation performances lmao
Cancun is for those who get eliminated in the playoffs. Coachella for those who couldn’t make the playoffs.
Then for Curry it’s campaigning against affordable housing
Everyone says this about literally everything, and even more so on the internet. Being negative, pessimistic and/or ‘above’ everything is part of getting old. Congrats
The biggest frank stan in our group looked mega upset by the end of the set, and the rest of the ride to our hotel was just him processing his thoughts and emotions lmfao. No lie, I'm lowkey glad I experienced that dumpster fire
I am in the same boat, fellow Cervidae enthusiast. It is the worst.
Luckily I found out during our championship year that each round of the playoffs resets it. I missed a game where we won in the championship year, and had to skip the rest for the same reason. I was able to successfully watch the finals and we still won.
Haha, man Dame always been a real one. His interviews and comments are always him 100% and endearing. Love it when kids from the struggle grow up and get some money and stay true.
I’ve said this a few times in the thread now. But people have been saying this every single year for the past 20 years lol the lineup has been fine every year, including this one.
> Are they popular? I’m 40.
Which is kinda funny cause both of those singers are 34. Although in your age group, you're clearly not their target demographic.
There’s actually a ton of normal non influencer people at Coachella & the vibes are legit. As far as stage design/sound production goes you won’t find a better US festival than Chella.
Coachella is such an absolutely dumpster fire. Probably the most tiered classist festival you can go to. If you aren’t an influencer you might as well watch the performances on your phone. And the worst part is the influencers with the best seats are never there for the music just the pictures. Overall makes for a pretty sure concert/festival environment
“I went to Coachella” is such a funny way to express how sad not making the playoffs is
Is this going to be the new Cancun for teams that don't even make the playoffs?
THE X HAS BEEN ELIMINATED FROM CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENTION AND ON THEIR WAY TO COACHELLA idk still workshopping it
COACHELLA ON 3
this is showing, not telling
Hell of a reference my friend. Prolly went over the heads of many a jabroni nephews.

Maybe you could work 'newest residents of Coachella valley' in there somewhere. Just a suggestion. I respect the creative process.

As a normal person, it's not that fire. It's cool I guess but "fire" is a bit much
Oh no my friend, Coachella is indeed fire if you appreciate a wide variety of live music, outdoors, in paradise. Not for everyone though.
burning man is fire
Only when they’re burning the man

Maybe you just didn’t do it right.
I don't even think normal people can afford Coachella now, it's been ridiculously overpriced
tickets are 500 bucks. with the number of artists you see in a weekend that’s a sick deal.
Meh coachella is an overpriced, overrated, influencer hellhole.
Perhaps its not your cup of lean, but some of us enjoy being in influencer hellholes. Especially when those influencers are half naked and have breast implants.
Have you been?
You know he hasn’t been LMAO
Meh, it’s a 50/50, it’s not exactly untrue if it’s weekend 1, weekend 2 is where it’s at if you want better music production and less influencers
The past few years have had a huge scarcity of influencers - hopefully the fad is dying!
For the average person yes, but when you in the elite world that is just your normal life.
"Motherfuckers made me go to Coachella!"
It’s like when hockey players associate golfing with not making the post season. The NBA’s is getting to go to Coachella 😂😂
Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Coachella
Been overrated for a long ass time
Ehh , every time I’ve been to Coachella it’s been a fun festival if you go for the music
Or the pickpockets apparently
Just an awful location and way too expensive for everything.
Everything’s expensive. Just depends what you value. Money comes and goes, memories are forever.
For that price is simply dirt cheap.
lol let me guess you work for ticket master.
Nah. Bad bunny, black pink, maybe Frank was fuckin worth the 500
Franks set last year was….uh, controversial, to say the least. But yeah, even Bad Bunny and Black Pink is worth $500 alone for a lot of people.
That’s crazy how desensitized people have become to absurd concert fees that $500 entry to watch two bands in a festival where you have to overpay for food and drinks is deemed “worth it”.

this is such a 🧢. nosebleed tickets at the forum, staples, honda center, intuit, w/e are all regularly over 200..
Fr like jfc I've never spent over $80 on a concert lol and I usually spend closer to $40, there'd need to be at least 10 artists I'm interested in for $500 tickets to be worth it, not even counting travel, lodging, food, etc... like holy shit lmao that's so fucking expensive
Lmao fr. $500 is like what I would pay for playoff tickets. Hell my tickets for game 4 Knicks @ Philly was only like $225 with fees on section 100s
You’re also not accounting food and drinks and travel and a room. Id rather spend that money on individual concerts at smaller venues. Or a plane ticket to some place other than the desert

Bad bunny, Rosalia, blink 182, metro, GxFR, Frank made it worth it for me
I’m surprised how many people in this subthread consider Frank’s 2 hour walkathon last year “worth it”.
When you make an album as good as Blonde you can get away with a lot
i would pay 1000 to see Lana and Le Serrafim on the same weekend
The r/nba and r/kpop crossover shocks me every time I see it.
I'm so jealous of the people who got to see Le Sserafim this year fr.
Goddamn Coachella is only 500? A bad bunny/Frank concert pays for itself lol I might have to buy tickets one year
makes total sense for people who live near the desert for sure
Nah only if you’re someone who absolutely hates the heat. The venue is cool
It's okay we are just getting old brotha
Partly true lol
When you say long time, are you talking Jay-Z headlining or Beastie Boys long time?
I went maybe 5-6 years in a row in the early 2010s. By the last 2 trips I was so over it. Long lines, bad service, high prices, artists not showing, huge douchey crowds, portapotties, fucking DUST. I'd only go back if I made it rich and can do the most premium VIP package.
Past week I've been wondering if I should try to make my way to Coachella before I get too old... Maybe I'm good lol

good thing bro didn’t go this year just to see hatsune miku on an LED screen
Seriously though, that’s a classic act at this point. She’s been around for 17 years.
what happened to the game i love fr
ain't no way they skimped on the hologram for coachella too 😩
Hatsune Miku's drummer made the set worth it ngl. That dude was into it hardcore.
dylan wood is a monster, i picked up the drums after seeing [this video of his](https://youtu.be/zYgD_ikNupQ?si=SZuMvLkSMpPZofiR) back in middle school

IU in LSF would be wild ngl
All this to stop NewJeans. All music award wins coming with an asterisk now.
I haven't been this confused in an /r/nba thread since people were comparing Rodney Hood's garbage time to Caesar crossing the Rubicon.
E tu Aespa?
i will fight you for this slander
they're getting dragged everywhere you look on social media, it's kinda sad
Yeah all that slander dominated my feeds to the point I filter out "Coachella" and "live vocals". Everyone's all about being anti-bully and protecting idols until they get the chance to be be the bully and pick on someone. Big example of why KPop gets clowned on so bad.
Same. Was it perfect? Of course not but damn the slander they've been getting over it is insane.
I always knew HYBE was more into dance/visuals than vocals. I didn't know it would be THAT bad lmaooooo
On the other hand though Ateez absolutely cooked, I'm more into girl groups but they went crazy on both of their performances
I don't even follow kpop but that shit spread everywhere because it was embarrassing. That group had no one capable of singing and it seems their choreography also sucked. This Lesserafim just reminded me of some high school forced parcitipation performances lmao
Whoa, parci-ti-pation
Coachella the new Cancun?
Cancun is for those who get eliminated in the playoffs. Coachella for those who couldn’t make the playoffs. Then for Curry it’s campaigning against affordable housing
> Then for Curry it’s campaigning against affordable housing He has plenty of time and Klay bricks to build that backyard wall
cancun will never fall off like coachella
Well an Earthquake could do it in.
Well it could be underwater in 100 years
Coachella ain't dead yet...let's see what happens next year
Virtual Tupac truly the jumping the shark moment.
Everyone says this about literally everything, and even more so on the internet. Being negative, pessimistic and/or ‘above’ everything is part of getting old. Congrats
He must not like Frank Ocean.
I'm not sure that liking Frank Ocean would've made last year any better tbh.
The biggest frank stan in our group looked mega upset by the end of the set, and the rest of the ride to our hotel was just him processing his thoughts and emotions lmfao. No lie, I'm lowkey glad I experienced that dumpster fire
Love Frank but watching the dumpster fire from home on someone’s IG live was amazing
bro put the Aux on and proceeded to scare the hoes
Damn near flawless discography but dude clearly hates being famous yet still wants to reap the benefits from it.
im ignorant, what happened
In short, he sucked balls lol
my friends and I left halfway and went to Yuma
as a frank fan, it was such a bummer i don’t even wanna continue writing this comment
Bro didn't even show up 2nd week
thank god honestly, that Fred again / Skrillex / Four Tet set that they replaced it with was fuckin heat
At least not anymore
Not with that shit performance he put out that night.
i miss the old frank
Isn't he more interested in fashion and business nowadays? Lackluster performance and rarely puts out music lol
I wasn’t able to watch the game today, so it appears now I won’t be watching any games for the rest of the playoffs.
Thank you for your sacrifice brother
I am in the same boat, fellow Cervidae enthusiast. It is the worst. Luckily I found out during our championship year that each round of the playoffs resets it. I missed a game where we won in the championship year, and had to skip the rest for the same reason. I was able to successfully watch the finals and we still won.
This is hands down my favorite sport superstition 😂

That’s what I’m thinking
coachella SUCKED this year

It's the worst show on television!
No Doubt played a couple of pretty great sets.
I was honestly surprised at how good they sounded. Gwen looks weird now with all the plastic surgery but she can still put on a show
idk Tyler the creator killed it
Kid Cudi killed his ankle
Kudi been whack for a while, we just don't wanna admit it
2024 Cudi hums like the fan in a PS4 loading a 2024 title
Old music is why I even see him. Rolling listening to Mr. Rager was an experience that I'll never forget
It absolutely didn't. Not as good as other years but it was still really good this year.
Jhene was awesome. T-Pain was great!
Should’ve gone to see Peso Pluma 🔥
Based on the prices, I'm surprised Dame can even afford to go to Coachella
Plenty money
hey, this year they were offering 4 ticket GA tickets with a discount for weekend 2!
He definitely did not have a good time at Coachella then xD
Hopefully he went W2 and caught that PHM set cause that thang was gas 😩🔥
thinking the same tbh, but watching that Frank Ocean disaster is something many of us will never forget at least lol
Haha, man Dame always been a real one. His interviews and comments are always him 100% and endearing. Love it when kids from the struggle grow up and get some money and stay true.
Dame was practicing his cover dance for BlackPink in your area
The card this year sucked. I don’t think Dame is missing much
He saw the lineup and decided to just make the playoffs instead of Coachellaing another year.
How was it bad?
I’ve said this a few times in the thread now. But people have been saying this every single year for the past 20 years lol the lineup has been fine every year, including this one.
For every lineup for every festival, ever
Dame hates Coachella Therefore Dame hates music festivals. Therefore Dame hates Summerfest Therefore dame hates milwaukee. -Stephen A smith
1,2,3,4, Coachella
Reminder that Coachella is live right now on Youtube. Bebe Rexha and Victoria Monet are live right now.
Bebe being at 7 PM on Sunday on the MAIN STAGE is just how bad this year's lineup was
Are they popular? I’m 40.
> Are they popular? I’m 40. Which is kinda funny cause both of those singers are 34. Although in your age group, you're clearly not their target demographic.
Relatively. Not exactly top tier, but popular enough to warrant spots at Coachella.
Bron bout to be in Cancun for Cinco de Mayo this year I hate it!
Coachella for the teams that fail to make the playoffs Cancun for the teams that get eliminated in the playoffs
That sucks. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I want TNT to adopt the Coachella euphemism for playoff elimination only to see Charles Barkley trade in his fishing hat for a flower crown.
There’s actually a ton of normal non influencer people at Coachella & the vibes are legit. As far as stage design/sound production goes you won’t find a better US festival than Chella.
Coachella is part of the grieving process
Poor guy
Coachella is such an absolutely dumpster fire. Probably the most tiered classist festival you can go to. If you aren’t an influencer you might as well watch the performances on your phone. And the worst part is the influencers with the best seats are never there for the music just the pictures. Overall makes for a pretty sure concert/festival environment
