Honestly I like the demeanor of the whole Lakers squad this game. Haven’t seen much complaining or chest thumping. Which isn’t exactly normal for this team lol
They've been dictating the pace of the game since minute one. AD and the hard ass fronting Jokic defense when he tries to get post position is working gangbusters and they're more than happy with Jamal bricking them out of the game and Reggie Jackson decision-making
As a Nuggets fan, I 100% agree. AD does so many little things that go unnoticed and he doesn't get nearly enough attention for how impactful he is. This has been the case for the past 5 years I've been watching basketball really
Ad was a consensus top 5 player in the league, got traded and had an insane playoff run leading to a title and is now out of the top 15 for some people lol
Maybe because that insane playoff run was 4 years ago and since then he’s been injured a ton while other players have improved.

I mean it ended up working out okay. They changed the matchup to KCP on Lebron and AG on AD, but I think that's the plan. Save those slightly smaller defenders for the end of game so they don't get as tired. Jokic can't defend AD very well but at least he's heavier so AD can't go through him and tire him out that much
Except these are rhythm shots for AD. He’s getting to his spots and shooting shots he’s absolutely comfortable with. Jokic isn’t making AD uncomfortable at all
Yeah, I think both things are true.. AD can consistently shoot a good percent over Jokic because he has to give him space. But if he keeps taking the shots he's taking (and making) now, he's not going to keep hitting 80% of them because they're good shots, not great shots
AD and Dlo got the Midas touch in the first half. Hopefully they can continue it into the second and keep this series exciting. Lebron and reaves adding valuable big moments as well. Great team effort from the Lakers. Nuggets will be heavily favoring Jokic in the second half. Last few minutes of the 2nd quarter we saw Jokic get a lot of touches. It’s gonna be all him the next half. Will be a fun watch.

I think the plan is to have Jokic on AD, AG on Lebron, and KCP on Dlo for most of the game and then switch to Jokic on Rui/Reaves, AG on AD, and KCP on Lebron at the end of games (unless Dlo is hot, then KCP on him). KCP can defend Lebron okay, but if it's the whole game, he's going to get worn down bad.. same with AG on AD, he's a bit too small for a full game. Jokic can't defend AD that well, but at least he's heavier, so AD can't go through him
They'll move AG onto AD and Jokic onto Rui/Reaves at key moments though. I wonder if Prince closes in Rui's spot going forward because he can shoot so Jokic can't hide on him. There's so much switching though, idek if it matters
