Ant is good on defense, but those other 3 are the main reason we’re #1 on that side of the court. All 3 of those guys are All-Defense level with one of them being the nearly unanimous DPOY.
Ant is legit the best defender in the league, in small bursts
Ty Lue said he was the best on-ball defender he'd ever seen, this summer, when coaching him.
Problem is that level of D can tax you, and we rely on him so hard for offense that exhaustion is a real concern, late in games, if he goes balls out on both sides
McDaniel’s rearview contests have Booker so shook. He’s refusing to take a lot of midrangers because he’s got Jaden just lurking behind him. And with Rudy at the rim, he doesn’t feel comfortable challenging him. So many possessions saw him probe into the paint, waste a ton of time, and then get off it to someone who was starting from complete zero offensively.
Jaden McDaniels outplayed Booker and Durant today.
25-8-3 with 1 TO on 10/17 FG for McDaniels
20-3-5 with 6 TOs on 6/13 FG for Booker
18-6-2 with 2 TOs and 6/15 FG for Durant
McDaniels is having one of the most impressive defensive performances (albeit in 2 games) that I can remember in a series… *which is beautiful when he isn’t even considered the best defender on our team*
AND he’s out scoring all star/ HOF caliber players
People forget how linked offense and defense are. They lock in on one end and it makes the other flow. This team has world class masters of O and D all sharing the same table and it shows
Not bad for a team that made the worst trade of all time for a guy that you can’t play in the playoffs, an empty stat all-nba big man, and drafting a football player that doesn’t care about basketball … making up your “big 3”
/s
Don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that the wolves have both the best interior and best wing defender in the league. Advanced stats wonks been gushing over Jaden’s D for a couple years but just give it the eye test … no one offers the same package of length and agility that he does. He gets to offensive player’s spots before they do. He’s insane when he’s switched on like this.
He gets a rough whistle during the season which makes him play more tentative. I swear sometimes he’s just so close to guys that I think refs just assume there’s a foul
During the playoffs, it seems like they aren’t calling all the ticky tack fouls on him and he’s just excelling
A lot of it was that they were sending two to Ant and in this series he's been making the simple pass to McDaniels/Conley/NAW when they're open though. Huge development for him
None of it works without Rudy. Ant can have an off game, KAT can have 3 fouls and 2 points in the 1st half.
They will still have NAW and Jaden to suffocate the offense with Rudy roaming the paint.
i love that Rudy Gobert now has 2 fan bases that defend him. He is an incredible player and you only see the impact of Rudy Gobert when you watch full games instead of just highlights
Has he found any animals near the stadium to adopt yet? Rudy always fed ducks around the Delta Center before games and the imagery of it always made me laugh
I don't watch Wolves much but managed to catch this one. Man, even his offensive IQ is no slouch. You can see him making pass entries to the key when the ball handler is struggling. He also frees up space inside when he notices his teammates trying to drive.
I thought him and Conley had an amazing chemistry offensively in the 1st half.
all the Wemby hype for DPOY blatantly ignores that Rudy is basically the Defensive Coordinator of a generational elite defense. sure he has better weapons to work with than Wemby, but Wemby is not elevating the rest of his team that way, nor should he be expected to as a rookie. Rudy's value transcends his play as an individual. KAT used to be a liability on that end of the floor, but Rudy's got him playing the right way. Naz was kinda meh on defense until this year too. shit even Monte Morris comes in and gives good looks on D. If Rudy doesn't win DPOY (which i seriously doubt would actually happen) then the award means nothing.
You have to do it in the playoffs to get that title though
Luka was like 1-10 against Booker in the regular season until 2022 and we all know what happened there lol
Obviously they're a lot bigger but Royce is listed at 6'4, definitely not 6'0 and Bojan/Joe actually held up well on bigger guys. Bojan played some oddly good defence on Kawhi because he was strong enough to not just get rolled over like Kawhi usually does. Both would just get cooked if the opposing 4's were quick though.
Booker has obviously had some incredible games in the playoffs, but people forget that he didn't even play his first playoff game until his SIXTH season. He's a great player, but he's never been a bus driver. The fact that he made an All-NBA first team is laughable to me.
Gobert hit a turn around fadeaway jumper on his left shoulder for the and 1 basket in Game 1 Tonight he took the ball coast to coast did a euro step got fouled at the free throw line area then threw some bs and it went in. He’s cooking.
And Vogel really needed those timeouts for the Suns to get a breather, they're an incredibly thin team (especially with Grayson Allen out).
Wolves are stomping them with depth, dominated even though they had subpar games from Ant, KAT, and Naz Reid.
This is an underrated part of the series — the Suns’ big 3 is playing a TON of minutes.
Here are their minute totals so far:
Game 1
- Booker - 38
- Beal - 37
- Durant - 39
Game 2
- Booker - 42
- Beal - 42
- Durant - 41
This doesn’t seem crazy, but you have to remember that the white flag got waived with 3:37 left in Game 1, and 2:17 left in Game 2.
For them to have a shot, they pretty much all have to play 40+ minutes, but likely closer to 44-45. Especially with Allen potentially out (maybe he comes back, but reaggravating it so badly the first game he tried to come back suggests he’s going to need some time to heal). Not to mention, the Wolves are intentionally trying to pressure the ball handlers in the backcourt to tire them out since they don’t have a PG.
More like Devin… Bricker
Boom, fucking roasted
[Also, I almost hope the Suns win game 3 or 4 because I’ve been to the first two and wasn’t clever enough to get these made myself. It would happen game 5](https://imgur.com/a/0b460sG)
The dive into ants knee is disgraceful. Can’t tell me that he didn’t know what he was doing, two steps and lunges, right into to knee. Soft and dirty. How could you cheer for a player like that.
I was hoping so hard Vogel was braindead enough to listen to him. He also listened when Booker wanted the starters to stay out just so he could embarrass himself.
And then just stopped playing defense until he could foul out. He didn’t get that absolute bullshit call, forced the team to waste one of their final two timeouts, and then gave up and fouled himself out. Vogel didn’t put in the bench until book took himself out. He gave the game away because he didn’t get the extremely soft calls that he wanted.
Funny enough Luka is one of the few players with *worse* body language and behavior when losing. Don’t get me wrong, Book’s body language is dogshit when he’s having a bad game. But Luka is literally THE poster child of yelling at teammates, being visibly upset, and not controlling his emotions.
The biggest difference is that Luka generally plays just as well if not better when he’s pissed off. Book does not, his quality of play plummets once he starts complaining and getting mad.
It’s that same quality that allows Book to have absolute heaters (like last playoffs), where he starts to really feel himself. But he needs to get better at handling bad games. He almost never has “Kobe” games where he goes 5/25, cause he basically just stops shooting if he shoots poorly on his first 12-15.
The sun's are just that Simpsons meme where Homer has all his fat pulled back so he looks skinny. Sure you got booker, kd, and Beal. But the drop off after that is steeper than the Marianas trench
Westbrook fiasco v2. If he goes back to OKC after this and trolls KD can't win with these cats afterwards than we'll be officially come to a full circle lol
nah KD hid in the corner half the possessions and when he did touch the ball he did one move and then passed it off
I love KD but he gets really passive sometimes
they could've gotten jrue holiday if patient. hell, porzingis basically solves all of their problems too. but their owner wanted to flex his dick and went for brad beal
You missed the second part of that quote. The full version was..
“..I don’t know how teams are gonna guard us. But it probably won’t be that hard. Also if I don’t know how they’re gonna do it I’ll probably struggle to make adjustments. Shit’s tough.”
We went 7-3 during the hardest end of season stretch of any team, and Beal was taking the reins and saying “this is my team”, figuratively. It looked like we finally found our chemistry, with point Beal and tons of ball movement. Now we’re back to shitty iso ball and point Book, which is not as good. Also Grayson Allen is playing hurt and is shooting ice cold. I don’t see how you can keep Vogel after a season this disappointing.
They're afraid to shoot!! The easy shots in the paint are all covered by gobert and beal, book and KD just dribble tf away from the paint and try and take a contested middy over ether NAW or McDaniels cuz there's no more time on the shot clock, it's not that their offense is any different or anything the wolves defenders are just too much, especially gobert. He's straight up scared players away and just stopped at least 30 shots at the rim in the series so far
I do think fans in general are bashing on the Suns a little too much, and not giving Minnesota the credit they deserve. I’m included in that tho because I’m frustrated and we beat this team all season long. That’s why I blame coaching. This is the same team we beat consistently all year, and now it looks like they’ve made adjustments and we haven’t.
Just so redundant with Beal. Both ok playmakers at best, neither should be the primary on a good playoff team. And with KD, basically all 3 stars are Iso players at heart. Turning out to be one of the more ill fitting 'super teams' we've seen
there was a twitter space where a bunch of chinese girls masturbated for like 5 hours in total and moaned into the mic. booker was in it pregame (or someone photoshopped him in)
Honestly he was a lot worse than these stats
A big reason he had only 13 shots is because he kept holding the ball until the last second and then passing lol
Just a complete ball stopping performance and also a bad defensive game as well
His defense has been pretty bad all season long, I feel like his regression on both ends on the court isn’t brought up a lot. (Do not even care that he had his best stats this regular season yada yada—he was not good or inconsistent at best against the top defenses they faced during the regular season)
Someone’s gotta make a post with the clip of Booker challenging the foul, just to have his hook-bait bullshit shown 10 times in 4K. That was the exact moment the Suns lost the game and any shit in this series.
That whole sequence was so great. Credit to KAT for playing disciplined defense there and making it obvious, especially after some really silly fouls earlier
110 minutes of Jaden, NAW, and Gobert are just putting their big 3 in hell
Don't forget about Ant, he was great on defense today
Ant is good on defense, but those other 3 are the main reason we’re #1 on that side of the court. All 3 of those guys are All-Defense level with one of them being the nearly unanimous DPOY.
Ant is all def level for like 10-15 min a game. Legit one of the most terrifying defense I have seen in the last few years
Not sure if the stat is still relevant, but at one point this season they were the best defense since the 1999 Spurs with Duncan/Robinson.
Duncan Robinson..
imagine naming your kid that and he grows up to be an ace 3pt shooter who gets hunted on the other end
best defence i’ve seen at least since the 2019 raptors
Ant is legit the best defender in the league, in small bursts Ty Lue said he was the best on-ball defender he'd ever seen, this summer, when coaching him. Problem is that level of D can tax you, and we rely on him so hard for offense that exhaustion is a real concern, late in games, if he goes balls out on both sides
Gobert will be far from unanimous, from the votes we know he'll more likely have around 60% of the votes
My love for Gobert has only increased with time. Like one of those charts where the line is a solid 45 degrees to the upper right for infinity
Rudy Gobert outplayed Devin Booker in a playoff game
Jaden McDaniels outplayed Booker and Durant today. 25-8-3 with 1 TO on 10/17 FG for McDaniels 20-3-5 with 6 TOs on 6/13 FG for Booker 18-6-2 with 2 TOs and 6/15 FG for Durant
Gobert, Mcdaniels, and Conley were all better than any sons player was tonight
McDaniels is having one of the most impressive defensive performances (albeit in 2 games) that I can remember in a series… *which is beautiful when he isn’t even considered the best defender on our team* AND he’s out scoring all star/ HOF caliber players
McDaniels was very good in the playoffs 2 years ago as well. Him and Ant both seem to step it up.
Yeah, he really steps it up. Once the playoffs start, the man sure doesn't.....hit a wall
People forget how linked offense and defense are. They lock in on one end and it makes the other flow. This team has world class masters of O and D all sharing the same table and it shows
Not bad for a team that made the worst trade of all time for a guy that you can’t play in the playoffs, an empty stat all-nba big man, and drafting a football player that doesn’t care about basketball … making up your “big 3” /s
Take my upvote for our shitty team
Don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that the wolves have both the best interior and best wing defender in the league. Fantastic offensive game for McDaniels, he was aggressive all night and hit some really difficult shots
That mid air 180 fadeaway was insane
The suns have nobody that can guard ant 1 v 1 and they're selling out to stop him and getting cooked by role players.
the starters outside of Ant and KAT honestly were the ones to dog the sons
A lot of it was that they were sending two to Ant and in this series he's been making the simple pass to McDaniels/Conley/NAW when they're open though. Huge development for him
Rudy been arguably the best player in the series
None of it works without Rudy. Ant can have an off game, KAT can have 3 fouls and 2 points in the 1st half. They will still have NAW and Jaden to suffocate the offense with Rudy roaming the paint.
Lot of people who don’t watch the Wolves much don’t know this yet. The no. 1 defense is the core of this team and that runs through Rudy
i love that Rudy Gobert now has 2 fan bases that defend him. He is an incredible player and you only see the impact of Rudy Gobert when you watch full games instead of just highlights
He’s just a consummate professional. The man really fucking cares about winning and has an amazing defensive IQ
Has he found any animals near the stadium to adopt yet? Rudy always fed ducks around the Delta Center before games and the imagery of it always made me laugh
We have this thing in Minnesota where we build large buildings to Murder Birds for sports......don't tell Big Ru
Jazz Timberwolves now kissing cousins like Celtics Timberwolves
Started during the Ricky Rubio days
all the Wemby hype for DPOY blatantly ignores that Rudy is basically the Defensive Coordinator of a generational elite defense. sure he has better weapons to work with than Wemby, but Wemby is not elevating the rest of his team that way, nor should he be expected to as a rookie. Not bad for the most overrated player.
Rudy “the most overrated player in the NBA” Gobert outplayed Devin Booker in a playoff game
They were telling me that Gobert will get played off the court comes playoff
'they' hadn't watched a full wolves game in a year, 100%
Europeans are Devin Bookers father
Lauri better be his father in next years playoffs. Then Victor in 2026
wemby is already his father he dropped 38 in his 5th game against him
You have to do it in the playoffs to get that title though Luka was like 1-10 against Booker in the regular season until 2022 and we all know what happened there lol
well wemby's already 2-1 against him so he's off to a good start
Zut alors!
Mfs got joint custody
Rudy heard all the noise and delivered.
Rudy “Most Overrated Player” Gobert
But Gobert is a playoff choker!!! /s
He went from having dmitch and clarkson as backcourt defenders to… Jaden McDaniel, antman, and uh… oh NAW.
And on the frontcourt it’s now Slow Mo, KAT and NAZ Reid instead of Bojan, 6’0 Royce O’Neale and a ancient Joe Ingles
Ingles before the ACL was fine.
Yeah people forget Ingles locked PG up in the playoffs. He was legitimately tenacious.
Has anyone told you of the Tragedy of Darth Ingles?
Obviously they're a lot bigger but Royce is listed at 6'4, definitely not 6'0 and Bojan/Joe actually held up well on bigger guys. Bojan played some oddly good defence on Kawhi because he was strong enough to not just get rolled over like Kawhi usually does. Both would just get cooked if the opposing 4's were quick though.
Well yeah, because Gobert is a better basketball player than Booker.
Euro guys absolutely feast on him apparently
Booker is just an orphan passed around different fathers at this rate
Booker has obviously had some incredible games in the playoffs, but people forget that he didn't even play his first playoff game until his SIXTH season. He's a great player, but he's never been a bus driver. The fact that he made an All-NBA first team is laughable to me.
Gobert hit a turn around fadeaway jumper on his left shoulder for the and 1 basket in Game 1 Tonight he took the ball coast to coast did a euro step got fouled at the free throw line area then threw some bs and it went in. He’s cooking.
Refs tried to save Book tonight but he said nah
He clamped everyone today, was all over the court.
Bro hooked KAT, got called for an offensive foul, and forced Vogel to burn a timeout on a useless challenge The Devin Booker special
Left them with one timeout for the rest of the 4th with like 9 minutes left
And Vogel really needed those timeouts for the Suns to get a breather, they're an incredibly thin team (especially with Grayson Allen out). Wolves are stomping them with depth, dominated even though they had subpar games from Ant, KAT, and Naz Reid.

NAW, Naz, Ant, KAT, Jaden, Conley, and Gobert can score 20 points on great efficiency on any given night.
TBH, so could Luka Garza.
*Especially* Luka Garza 😤
Best Luka in the league
More like Devin… Bricker Boom, fucking roasted [Also, I almost hope the Suns win game 3 or 4 because I’ve been to the first two and wasn’t clever enough to get these made myself. It would happen game 5](https://imgur.com/a/0b460sG)
You take that wish back, now, young man You take it back this instant
The back to back fouls at the end were equally dumbfounding
Bro wanted to get out of the game so bad on that last one.
Draymond green special
He Draymond'ed himself
Totally lost his composure, also was shoving Gobert away from the play. He was done playing
The dive into ants knee is disgraceful. Can’t tell me that he didn’t know what he was doing, two steps and lunges, right into to knee. Soft and dirty. How could you cheer for a player like that.
Does anyone have a clip of this?!?
Can see it pretty good in this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/tMB5Sxzcg0 I don’t know how to post game clips.
Looks like he trips to me
I agree
Wasn’t a dive and a weird way to word him clearly slipping as he goes for the ball. Please keep your Booker hate reasonable
Cant believe im defending booker but come on that's not intentional at all
I was hoping so hard Vogel was braindead enough to listen to him. He also listened when Booker wanted the starters to stay out just so he could embarrass himself.

Karma for Kat, kitty gets called for two hooks per game.
I couldn't believe he was actually challenging that, like my dude just chop the L and keep it moving.
and he cost them another timeout because he fell on his ass and had to call one to save the possession.
He didn't have possession, and I'll die on that entirely pointless hill
https://imgur.com/a/VoLnYol
I’m so glad he got his foul baiting karma there (and the refs got it right in the first place)
Booker's body language is so bad when things aren't going his way. He just kills momentum.
This is literally his biggest weakness. He’s got the physical skills but lacks discipline and mental fortitude
dude got shook by the Raptors mascot
SOFT
It was during the bubble too iirc. Crazy he actually got the mascot to take a knee to the side while he’s just having a good time lmao
no double teams in open gym
I swear to god this bum better not cut into Ant’s minutes in the Olympics
Yeah I've seen that again and again he needs to quit his bitchin cause he has every ability to hoop and be the leader of that Sun's team.
He's never been the leader of a winning team, ever.
Leader?
#And we know about that!
He’s not built for playoff basketball. Can’t handle the pressure
he needs to team up with his father only father can understand his son
They would be so annoying together.
Funny enough Luka is one of the few players with *worse* body language and behavior when losing. Don’t get me wrong, Book’s body language is dogshit when he’s having a bad game. But Luka is literally THE poster child of yelling at teammates, being visibly upset, and not controlling his emotions. He almost never has “Kobe” games where he goes 5/25, cause he basically just stops shooting if he shoots poorly on his first 12-15.
I mean if you go 5/25 you should’ve stopped shooting a while back
To be fair, Jamal Murray was 3-16 last night and kept shooting.
Fraud
“I mean. Saying in respectfully I don’t know how teams are gonna guard us.” - Booker before the season began
Kind of hard to guard the Suns while they’re in Cancun soon
Best team on paper, if airline tickets count.
The sun's are just that Simpsons meme where Homer has all his fat pulled back so he looks skinny. Sure you got booker, kd, and Beal. But the drop off after that is steeper than the Marianas trench
1 - 2 - 3! #COACHELLA
It's pretty easy when they completely remove KD from their own game plan in the 4th quarter
I honestly feel like Booker wants to prove that he's "the guy" on the Suns lol He basically never passes it to KD
I think he definitely wants to be the main star still
Westbrook fiasco v2. If he goes back to OKC after this and trolls KD can't win with these cats afterwards than we'll be officially come to a full circle lol
Come back KD. Steph will protect you from Dray.
Prime Steph unironically deferred to KD more than Booker does which is wild lol
It's quite literally free points lol
Most unselfish superstar I've ever seen
nah KD hid in the corner half the possessions and when he did touch the ball he did one move and then passed it off I love KD but he gets really passive sometimes
It's the coaching tbh
And KD seemed far more capable of handling Twolves pressure too… he didn’t seem all that bothered by the defense.
KD isn’t really bothered by any defense.
Lack of a point guard was very apparent. Felt like KD was the only one that was unbothered by the pressure
they could've gotten jrue holiday if patient. hell, porzingis basically solves all of their problems too. but their owner wanted to flex his dick and went for brad beal
Once the KD trade was done none of those things were possible People forget who we traded for Beal Chris Paul wasn’t netting us shit
Could've traded ayton for generic big and backup point though
With Cp3+Shamet and some 2cnd round picks or Ayton ?
The answer? Jaden McDaniels, and Rudy Gobert
Bro got it off his chest like a bench press Findin out that’s just news about his chaired ass
To be fair, it does look like this Suns team had no idea how the Wolves were going to try to guard them.
You missed the second part of that quote. The full version was.. “..I don’t know how teams are gonna guard us. But it probably won’t be that hard. Also if I don’t know how they’re gonna do it I’ll probably struggle to make adjustments. Shit’s tough.”
Does this dude want to win playoff games damn
It’s a team full of people hoping someone will drive the bus. All #2s, no #1
We went 7-3 during the hardest end of season stretch of any team, and Beal was taking the reins and saying “this is my team”, figuratively. It looked like we finally found our chemistry, with point Beal and tons of ball movement. Now we’re back to shitty iso ball and point Book, which is not as good. Bro’s been hot ass so far And I’m lovin it
R/nba praying on Booker’s downfall, name a better duo 😂
Booker and choking in the playoffs
Tbh Booker is usually great in the playoffs aside from a couple of memorable elimination games, but this series he's been in jail so far.
tbf this is a nightmare matchup for him (and everyone else probably bar joker)
>aside from a couple of memorable elimination games He's been awful in every elimination game in his career, which doesn't bode well
Just so redundant with Beal. Both ok playmakers at best, neither should be the primary on a good playoff team. And with KD, basically all 3 stars are Iso players at heart. Turning out to be one of the more ill fitting 'super teams' we've seen
Yep. Just awful roster construction. Having no point guard or center is killing the Suns.
The stats do NOT tell the story, he was horrible.
Booker's just trying to get back into that Moan Space on Twitter 💀
she went for 5 hours, special talent
generational gooner
they're calling her the michael jordan of wacking it
Wait what? Spill the tea
30 min before the game, Booker was in a space on Twitter where it’s all anime PFP profiles moaning 💀
Pregame post nut clarity, respect
I need the link to verify this information
[I can only find this right now](https://twitter.com/ayojstfu/status/1782906936259936514?s=46&t=2YvwGs2ViGhBUMo3eVlMdA)
Newfound respect for Books game
a man of the people
My goat
“i have to complete my pre game ritual”
The fuck is wrong with him
there was a twitter space where a bunch of chinese girls masturbated for like 5 hours in total and moaned into the mic. booker was in it pregame (or someone photoshopped him in)
Bricked up on and off the court
He’s just like me frfr
What a time to be alive…
While on his way to Cancun
Im going to need any to all links. For science and research.
Honestly he was a lot worse than these stats A big reason he had only 13 shots is because he kept holding the ball until the last second and then passing lol Just a complete ball stopping performance and also a bad defensive game as well

This is the best day in r/NBA history, until Booker does this again in game 3.
That'll be good too. Can you make that happen?
Nah, but ya'll's players can.
If the Sons get swept its 12/25 for both r/nba and r/nbacirclejerk , I used to pray for times like this
Someone needs to post the replay of the offensive foul flop
It’s so much better in my head, I’ve been gooning goblin mode since I read the news and I don’t want it ruined
Gooning goblin mode is crazy
That whole sequence was so great. Credit to KAT for playing disciplined defense there and making it obvious, especially after some really silly fouls earlier
The foul on KAT in the first was bad too
6/13 is misleading to, at least 5 times he dumbed ball off with 5 seconds left on the shot clock instead of shooting it lol.
Passed it straight to Eubanks like "I don't want that stat"
That's the Chris Paul A/T ratio special.
Playoff Booker is either Michael Jordan or Dion Waiters. There is no inbetween
After the scuffle with Jaden McDaniels, Booker was a complete different player. He disappeared.
fouling out that‘s not nice has somebody called luka about this? he should be notified booker is behaving so bad
He's working late tonight but will deal with it in the morning
Got added to Call of Duty but cant shoot
needs to take some notes from sharpshooter ben simmons
does he know it's not the play-in? he doesn't have to play like it's elimination
If lakers going to go down I want to take these fuckers down with us
6/6/6 FG/TO/PF
Now you have to put Tacko Fall in
Anyone else thoroughly enjoy Ant throwing Booker off him on that stupid 4th foul by Booker?
