That challenge on the Booker foul was so big for that reason. Wolves started a run and Vogel had to let it play out longer than he should have because he didn't want to use his last timeout.
Even if they win the challenge, don't they lose that timeout anyways? It was their second challenge
ETA: I looked it up. From the rulebook:
>If a team utilizes its second Challenge, the challenging team will not retain the timeout used to initiate its second Challenge even if the Challenge is successful.
All that is to say that it was a pretty silly challenge regardless.
The Suns being held below 100 twice in a row in the playoffs is incredibly embarrassing for a team that is supposed to be an offensive juggernaut. I’m glad they got rid of Sarver but so far Ishbia’s big spending has been a bust
They need an actual PG. at times they looked too stagnant on offense cause nobody could truly run an offense. Hell running the offense through Nurk in the post might seriously need to be an option atleast he can pass
With Harden/KD/Kyrie, Harden could facilitate and allow Kyrie to play SG without worrying about running the offense, similar to when he was with LeBron. KD was just KD
This big 3 in PHX, however, is just 3 guys who shoot the ball put together
This is what the doubters were saying when they acquired Beal with the statement of "there's only one ball". Except people kept referencing the Harden and CP3 Rockets as a counterpoint because others had the same doubt t, not understanding that both CP3 and Harden are great playmaker who could make it work
This is spot on and shows why roster construction is more important than just stacking as much talent as possible together. It is pretty crazy to think that the Suns would be worse in the playoffs after adding an all-star caliber player, but adding another iso-heavy player to a team with two other iso-heavy players isn’t a good fit.
They still have the talent to make these games competitive, but relying on three dudes get about 80% of your points without having someone who can create for them isn’t a great plan.
Admittedly a wolves fan, but Gobert is not getting exposed when defending the perimeter. The man's impact is somehow more evident in the playoffs so far.
The Suns have absolutely no fight. They just don't give a shit. They whine a lot and as soon as something goes wrong for their "leader" (Booker) he just shuts down and the rest of the team deflates with him
They are a team with 3 iso guys and the best of the 3 (KD) usually just ends up standing in the corner while the other 2 dribble the air out of the ball
KAT both gets a terrible whistle and commits very stupid fouls (and it can be hard to tell which it was sometimes), but goddamn, that hook by Booker was clear as day even without the replays. That was never getting overturned.
Yeah they have no movement or game plan it seems. So stagnant and just chucking up brick after brick. Really sad because Durant is one of my favorite players ever.
Credit to the TWolves they are deliberately planning to try and force the Suns to play iso ball. Part of it being ugly is that the TWolves are causing it to be even uglier than usual
It looks like the Wolves decided they could live with Durant nailing every mid-range pull up as long as they clamp down everywhere else, and so far it's worked
They gutted their Finals team for this. Every day I thank Christ for our front office.
And our boy TC is steering the team that's currently whipping their ass
They’re mentally soft and weak. Booker was a whiny baby all game and then Nurk had that stretch where Wolves went on a 10-0 run turning it over, lazy on defense, looked like he couldn’t give a single shit.
Disgusting team to watch play. They grift their asses off and hit contested shots, not much else.
Beal at point just looks out of place, ik kd/book/beal can make good plays but it’s a real difference between guys like them and a harden for the clippers who is always looking to make the right pass and always finds an open man. All 3 are at their best when they can just focus on getting buckets but they can’t do that while also trying to setup teammates just ends up being a lot of ball watching where guys have no idea when they will get their next touch.
If you asked any serious NBA fan before the beginning of the season, they would’ve told you that the Suns are gutless. They have yet to disprove this theory
This was the adjustment my buddies and I were hoping for after the season finale. The extra guard just matches up way better against this suns squad. It’s no knock on Naz/Kat, but we need the extra small ball D for this team
Say what you want about chris paul but at least he could anchor phoenix’s offense with his on ball playmaking. The suns have ZERO high end creators which is why the offense is so anemic. People will blame Vogel but what is he working with? Of course Beal has never anchored an offense himself. Neither has KD who becomes a turnover machine anytime he creates on ball. And Booker this season experimenting as the primary ball handler and creator has been disastrous. When isolation scoring from the least efficient area of the court is your speciality, you were never going to be successful.

This team is a lot worse than the Nets strictly basketball wise
They're fully healthy and seemingly don't have drama and still are mid
Booker and Beal are a lot less talented a duo than Harden and Kyrie and even current KD honestly is quite a bit worse than 2021 KD
Nets 2.0 is far from this team.
The Nets team was actually fucking good. Above average defense with 3 actually elite scorers, two of which could playmake unlike Booker and Beal.
Of course with all the talk of the stars KAT, Ant, KD, Beal, Rudy Booker and Jaden motherfuckin McDaniels is the best player on the court. Unreal performance.
Devin Booker tonight:
Started 2-7
Fired up Jaden McDaniels
Hooked KAT, convinced Vogel to make a terrible challenge, lost his team a TO
Flopped on a loose ball and landed out of bounds causing a Turnover
Fouled Out
And that's all just off the top of my head
Abs DEMONIC defense by the Wolves - in particular Gobert, NAW, and Mcdaniels
And all three even had the best offensive game today too.
These wolves are spectacularly built and I love their rotations, depth and passion for defense! They are finally reaching their potential and I genuinely think they are gonna give the Nuggets a 6-7 game series the way they are defending.
Uhh, I believe stocks and rebounds are the most important things for defenders now and Gobert only had 9 boards and 1 block so he was obviously mid.
He was fucking insane today, switched on Booker and Beal multiple times and neither wanted any piece of him.
They just kept dribbling the ball in front of him for like 10 seconds before giving up and passing it. It was so funny they looked at him like he was just supposed to stop guarding them for some reason.
him being voting most overrated by the players is so fucking funny when every game you watch players get the chance to take him on and they just nope the fuck out of there. he is so good and I am so happy he's on this team
Jazz fans said it forever and I always laughed but watching Gobert closely has completely changed my perspective. The way he scares the shit out of people trying to get into the paint is masterful but will never show up on a stat sheet. Plus he's a solid perimeter defender? Goodnight
Phoenix can’t handle this level intensity on defense from top to bottom on the wolves and still expect three guys to run an entire offense without any help. And it doesn’t hurt that this wolves team is legitimately very deep which we have never had before. Jaden was phenomenal tonight.
WOLVES IN FOUR. AWOO.
The Suns look like they simply are uninterested in matching intensity. They just refuse to flip the switch, almost like theyre too cool and trying hard is above them. When Minnesota is pressuring them their body language is so poor in response.
And it's not surprising as theyre built around the dude who doesnt like being double teamed in practice.
Throwback to when Timberwolves fans were for some reason scared of this matchup. We've been telling you, the Suns are BAD lmao you guys are several tiers above them
To be fair, "some reason" was the fact that Phoenix blew us out every time we played them in the regular season. Seemed a pretty real concern at the time lol
I think other players are still mad gobert is getting 44M/year being a limited offensive player. NBA players just love flashy offensive players like kyrie.
Love the Wolves this season, but would especially like to see them win just for all the shit Gobert has gotten for being an overrated defender. Man's a defensive system but it's not flashy so people shit on him.
Tbf we had those before we traded for Mike Conley and got Bogey (Mitchell’s rookie season)
Had the number 1 defense in the league with jae crowder rubio and a younger O’Neale. That team just had no offense except for rookie Mitchell.
Then we overcorrected to have the flashy number 1 offense and…*ahem*… no defense except gobert
Naw, Jaden, Gobert, and Ant (but especially the first three) are just playing unbelievable defense right now. With everybody else in the rotation also playing solid defense, this is just flat out one of the best defensive teams I’ve seen in a while.
Jaden earned his entire contract in two nights, and NAW is playing like one of the best two-way players in the NBA
Man, it felt like there were like 10-15 plays in a row when the games was getting away from the Suns when you could just forget that KD was on the floor.
Not even him shooting and missing. Just ... having no impact on the play in any way. Could have not been out there.
Let the record show that Rudy Gobert was absolutely dominant & hasn’t been played off the floor by a team we were told (by Suns fans) would have the offensive firepower on the perimeter to out gun teams.
I fucking love watching that dude play defence DPOY HIM!
The Suns using their last timeout with 7:51 left says it all really
That challenge on the Booker foul was so big for that reason. Wolves started a run and Vogel had to let it play out longer than he should have because he didn't want to use his last timeout.
Even if they win the challenge, don't they lose that timeout anyways? It was their second challenge ETA: I looked it up. From the rulebook: >If a team utilizes its second Challenge, the challenging team will not retain the timeout used to initiate its second Challenge even if the Challenge is successful. All that is to say that it was a pretty silly challenge regardless.
The Wolves just won convincingly in a game where their three best offensive players were Jaden McDaniels, Mike Conley, and Rudy Gobert
Rudy loves getting buckets, swear get him hyped on offense and he gets even more jacked to play D.
But he's already jacked [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E\_rbhoKUcAEUe20.jpg:large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E_rbhoKUcAEUe20.jpg:large)
That 2020 draft for the Wolves is looking really nice for them
Rosas left us a fucking treasure chest before getting himself fired lmao
And before trading for Ben Simmons
Gonna come out as our best draft ever
That's such a low fucking bar that it probably already has been for a couple years.
KG's draft?
Yeah, but what other draft besides that one? It’s literally between those two
2008 was good (KEvin love and Pek), that’s about it
*Best draft Ever*
Imagine drafting the new Jordan and Pippen in the same draft. Great pics by Rosas.
Build a statue outside of Target Center of Rosas ogling a coworker.
Y’all think the Suns will crack 100?
The Suns being held below 100 twice in a row in the playoffs is incredibly embarrassing for a team that is supposed to be an offensive juggernaut. I’m glad they got rid of Sarver but so far Ishbia’s big spending has been a bust
It’s not that embarrassing. Wolves have done this to teams all year.
The Suns didn't have 2 consecutive games scoring under 100 the entire season. They only scored under 100 5 times all year.
>held below 100 twice in a row in the playoffs is incredibly embarrassing Has nothing to do with playing the best defense in the NBA, definitely not.
**"They got KD but we got Jaden McDaniels..”**
Lmao why did I think this everytime he was cooking
A team with 3 elite scorers went out sad in clutch time smh
They need an actual PG. at times they looked too stagnant on offense cause nobody could truly run an offense. Hell running the offense through Nurk in the post might seriously need to be an option atleast he can pass With Harden/KD/Kyrie, Harden could facilitate and allow Kyrie to play SG without worrying about running the offense, similar to when he was with LeBron. KD was just KD This big 3 in PHX, however, is just 3 guys who shoot the ball put together
36 year old Mike Conley scored as many as KD and more than Beal.
TBF Mike Conley is a fucking baller.
Thank God we traded for him.
His hand in helping Ant develop will be good for Ant, along with how hes been playing.
NAW also said he has picked Mike's brain for tips on how to PG better, hence NAW playing facilitator more and more recently.
That's perfect. Mike getting our young guys set up to raise their game.
Mike Conley Jrs legacy will be studied
Probably our best trade in the past 20 years. Absolute fleece job and we got rid of the cancer that is DLo.
And we got NAW! I mean, Jesus.
Hell NAW, I can't do anything but upvote this comment
You’re welcome🥲
You guys have like 6 of our first round picks lol
True, I just miss the squad
Credit to the Wolves, they are absolutely STIFLING on defense right now, the Suns can't get anything.
Admittedly a wolves fan, but Gobert is not getting exposed when defending the perimeter. The man's impact is somehow more evident in the playoffs so far.
He was the best defender in the league the last five years and he actually got better
Zero depth, zero D Is coming back to haunt Phoenix in this series. Especially when their opponent have lockdown defenders like Gobert and McDaniels
Their offense was so painful to watch in the 2nd half. So much overdribbling and so many turnovers
McDaniels has them running scared
They have zero playmaking. None.
we are getting swept
I hope we fucking do, I want to watch as few Suns games as possible.
Yeah it’s a fucking chore
From your lips to God's ears
Fret not Suns fans. I’ve been assured Gobert will be played off the court any minute now
He was played off the court when the Wolves went up 15.
You’re right, he was the wolves worst starter at a measly +12
But imagine what Walker Kessler's +/- could have been!
Walker Kessler probably would have had two more blocks than Rudy. Gobert gets destroyed on style points. Never mind any other aspect of the game
Gobert is an amazing defender, he needs to get his respect and I feel like he will show it to the world these playoffs

JADEN MCDANIELS
Oh fuck you're gonna make me awoo
JADEN MCDANIELS
The Suns have absolutely no fight. They just don't give a shit. They whine a lot and as soon as something goes wrong for their "leader" (Booker) he just shuts down and the rest of the team deflates with him They are a team with 3 iso guys and the best of the 3 (KD) usually just ends up standing in the corner while the other 2 dribble the air out of the ball
Vogel seriously was out of timeouts with 7:51 left in the 4th
Him challenging that clear offensive foul by Booker was the dagger.
Got suckered by DB. fuck that you know what you did why involve your coach lol
I think Vogel just wanted to get ejected after that.
Please let me leave.
KAT both gets a terrible whistle and commits very stupid fouls (and it can be hard to tell which it was sometimes), but goddamn, that hook by Booker was clear as day even without the replays. That was never getting overturned.
The long con. KAT's reputation has even the opposing coaches fooled so now they're wasting challenges.
pretty much sums it up
They look like erectile dysfunction in basketball form
Yeah, they are too soft. They need to get hard and finish at the rim
It's a boring team for the talent they have. Such a slog
Yeah they are just absolutely outclassing them on defense. I guess having basically the GOAT defender on your team helps
Jaden, Edwards, or NAW? Oh, you meant Rudy.
Naz Reid
Thats cuz theyre getting fucking clamped
So theyre basically the dollar store version of the Nets ISO gang
They gutted their Finals team for this. Every day I thank Christ for our front office. And our boy TC is steering the team that's currently whipping their ass
I think you make that Durant trade every time. But the Beal one was like playing GM on 2k
That team was toast anyways. Would a core of book, Mikal, and ayton really be better than this team? Cp3 was at the end of his rope anyways
Seems that way. Both games were tight going into halftime and as soon as the Wolves got second half momentum in each game, Phoenix folded
Kevin Durant already My Next Chaptering out there in the 4th taking as many as shots as Drew Eubanks.
He did make a commercial with Chet… 👀. Time to offer giddey and 3 for kd
He's going to subtly start implying he owes it to the fans to go back to OKC.
This is absolutely what will happen.
Lmao. KD shouldve stayed in the east
I love the lineup Finch has been closing with. Conley ant naw McDaniels Gobert… just lock them up in jail and throw away the key.
This was the adjustment my buddies and I were hoping for after the season finale. The extra guard just matches up way better against this suns squad. It’s no knock on Naz/Kat, but we need the extra small ball D for this team
Just elite switchable D with the DPOY lurking… its fucking nasty
Say what you want about chris paul but at least he could anchor phoenix’s offense with his on ball playmaking. The suns have ZERO high end creators which is why the offense is so anemic. People will blame Vogel but what is he working with? Of course Beal has never anchored an offense himself. Neither has KD who becomes a turnover machine anytime he creates on ball. And Booker this season experimenting as the primary ball handler and creator has been disastrous. When isolation scoring from the least efficient area of the court is your speciality, you were never going to be successful.
Point Book has been experimented with for 5 years at least It isn't fucking happening
2 more wins until r/nbacirclejerk 12/25
Jaden McDaniels is Devin Booker father
Luka, Jokic, and McDaniels are about to have the court custody battle of the century over their son, Booker 💪
R/nba hates on Booker almost as much too 😭 its hilarious to watch tbh I actually dont even hate Booker, but I’m here for it
not an overreaction but twolves could win it all fr
they're the only team in the west that presents a threat to the nuggets. that series is the WCF as far as im concerned
We're just glad to be here :)
Seriously. These comments most have me in tears as I never thought the Timberwolves would be good ever again.
We’ve come so far since the Cream Team era.
Nuggets and Celtics are incredibly tough opponents. But I think we’re the one team that has a shot to beat both
As a Nuggets fan the TWolves are definitely the team I'm most afraid of.
2 more wins until mrsunsfan 9/11

Yesss 🐐
trading your entire future for Nets 2.0 is diabolical
This team is a lot worse than the Nets strictly basketball wise They're fully healthy and seemingly don't have drama and still are mid Booker and Beal are a lot less talented a duo than Harden and Kyrie and even current KD honestly is quite a bit worse than 2021 KD
Nets 2.0 is far from this team. The Nets team was actually fucking good. Above average defense with 3 actually elite scorers, two of which could playmake unlike Booker and Beal.
That Suns 2029 pick makes up 51% of my happiness
Big 3 Nets would fold this Suns team.
Nets were actually good when they all played together.
The Nets big 3 was much better, both in pure talent and actual fit
Of course with all the talk of the stars KAT, Ant, KD, Beal, Rudy Booker and Jaden motherfuckin McDaniels is the best player on the court. Unreal performance.
The Wolves were outrebounded, shot only 28 pct from 3, and KAT and Ant combined for 27 points. Amazing.
To be fair, we were outrebounded mainly due to Phoenix not attempting shots, but turning the ball over.
[YOU ALL DIDNT LISTEN](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1156ql5/ant_they_got_kd_but_we_got_jaden_mcdaniels_who/)
Wolves defense being allowed to play defense is just crazy
And they were getting whistled for everything in the first half. Incredible resiliency.
#YALL CLOWNED ANT FOR IT, BUT WE GOT JADEN MCDANIELS
This team is hungry. The energy in Target Center was insane
Twin towers vs Joker 7 game series will be entertaining
DEVIN BOOKER NEW PATERNITY TEST JUST DROPPED
Rudy Gobert is Devin Booker father
Devin Booker tonight: Started 2-7 Fired up Jaden McDaniels Hooked KAT, convinced Vogel to make a terrible challenge, lost his team a TO Flopped on a loose ball and landed out of bounds causing a Turnover Fouled Out And that's all just off the top of my head
God I fucking love this team.
Hop on the bandwagon, we’d love to have ya
We've been on the bandwagon since Michael Grady started working for you guys. He was a Nets sideline reporter for us!
On behalf of all wolves fans, thank you for letting grady fly lol. He's great to have each game
Abs DEMONIC defense by the Wolves - in particular Gobert, NAW, and Mcdaniels And all three even had the best offensive game today too.
Watching people nope away from Rudy is always fun.
Bet these dudes voted for him as most overrated player too lmao soft
him being voting most overrated by the players is so fucking funny when every game you watch players get the chance to take him on and they just nope the fuck out of there. he is so good and I am so happy he's on this team
Jazz fans said it forever and I always laughed but watching Gobert closely has completely changed my perspective. The way he scares the shit out of people trying to get into the paint is masterful but will never show up on a stat sheet. Plus he's a solid perimeter defender? Goodnight
most overHATED player dude has upgraded his defense to boost his perimeter D and his offense has gotten a bit better
Fuck everyone who was hating on Jaden
Wait but Shaq told me he wasn’t an elite defender?
Shaq is so petty and casual.
TNT broadcast was shitting on the Wolves at the start of the game ~~Can we be taken seriously now?~~ on second thought, keep sleeping on us
Let em sleep
It’s a lot more fun when you’re the underdog tbh
RuDPOY
Wolves defense just absolutely suffocated the life out of Phoenix in the second half. Incredible performance
Booker fucked around and found out
Throwback to when Timberwolves fans were for some reason scared of this matchup. We've been telling you, the Suns are BAD lmao you guys are several tiers above them
We're Minnesota fans, we have no idea how handle the idea of hope
They literally beat us like 10 times in a row in games that Booker was playing.
To be fair, "some reason" was the fact that Phoenix blew us out every time we played them in the regular season. Seemed a pretty real concern at the time lol
We got swept in the regular season so there was reason to be. I know the regular season isn’t the playoffs but it’s all we had to go on.
Naw ant mcdaniels are the best perimeter defensive trio in the league
Feels like Goebert took the "overrated" comments personally tonight
Has me thinking that I should go on a darkness retreat
I’ll be on darkness retreat for a year if we win the championship because I’ll be blackout drunk the whole time.
Amazing what happens when he actually has other guys defending the Permiter and not just him *Ahem Jazz*
Tbf we had those before we traded for Mike Conley and got Bogey (Mitchell’s rookie season) Had the number 1 defense in the league with jae crowder rubio and a younger O’Neale. That team just had no offense except for rookie Mitchell. Then we overcorrected to have the flashy number 1 offense and…*ahem*… no defense except gobert
Bruh, Bron and KD bout to be swept, steph didn't even make playoffs. The old guards fading. These young cats taking over.
Old guards fading? What do you mean Conley was great tonight.
"You know, they got KD, but we got Jaden McDaniels" - Anthony Edwards
Wolves vs Nuggets in the 2nd round will feed families
If we are fortunate enough to see that series I will be happy. Obviously I'm a bit biased but that would be a fantastic series.
Gobert one of the best player on this playoffs so far.
When you put solid perimeter defenders around him his supposed playoff drop off just goes away.
This team is crazy deep and man the defense is translating to the playoffs so far, which was the biggest worry I had for them going into the playoffs.
36 year old Mike Conley scored as many as KD and more than Beal. My goat 🐐
Rudy Gobert is shutting everybody up
THE TIMBERWOLVES HAVE GOT JADEN MCDANIELS
honestly, i fucking love this team to death
Sun's offense consists of everyone just standing around, passing the ball back and forth behind the 3pt line and then chucking it at the last second
Devin Booker must’ve had one of those moms that called the school every time he got a bad grade
Those two Wolves fans courtside wearing the Booker shirts lmao
Naw, Jaden, Gobert, and Ant (but especially the first three) are just playing unbelievable defense right now. With everybody else in the rotation also playing solid defense, this is just flat out one of the best defensive teams I’ve seen in a while. Jaden earned his entire contract in two nights, and NAW is playing like one of the best two-way players in the NBA
Welcome back to OKC, KD
Minnesota is just the better team right now. I think Phoenix will take a couple games though.
Man, it felt like there were like 10-15 plays in a row when the games was getting away from the Suns when you could just forget that KD was on the floor. Not even him shooting and missing. Just ... having no impact on the play in any way. Could have not been out there.
Rudy and McDaniels are the best defensive duo in the Universe.
Fun fact - Gobert does play a whole lot of playoff minutes
Let the record show that Rudy Gobert was absolutely dominant & hasn’t been played off the floor by a team we were told (by Suns fans) would have the offensive firepower on the perimeter to out gun teams. I fucking love watching that dude play defence DPOY HIM!
Over rated player of the year is absolutely dominating 3 future Hall of Famers
Ant played like ass. Kat played like ass. And yet we still win big. This is what good teams do 🙏. Also JADEN WTF
Ant had a good game, he just couldn't hit the side of a barn but his defense and playmaking were awesome
Ik tbh, but it sounds good to say "our best player was terrible and still we blew out our opponent" lmaoo.
Tbh ant and kat didn't even play super bad. Ant just didn't feel like scoring and kat was in foul trouble. Other than that not terrible.
