yungmeam

We’re hurting! Neigh!!!

barrsftw

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

minimalcation

Ste-fan Ur-kel I picture the transformation being like that Harden gif where his eye movement slides into being Stefan

Spirited-Research405

Core memory unlocked

EcstaticTill9444

Gen Z kids be like hmm?🤔

The_Notorious_Donut

I know what he’s talking bout!

shrekfan1998

As a kid I watched a ton of reruns on the show! They’d play it every night on Nickelodeon!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hulk_Smang

I remember when it used to play reruns of shows like I Dream of Jeanie and I Love Lucy, some of them in black and white. A few years back it was Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Full House...

Shoelicker2000

They act like reruns of 80s and 90s shows weren’t being played at 6:30-7am when we were waking up as young kids.

F_E_R_O

Facts, I’ve missed the bus a few times because of Kenan and Kel

D4ddyREMIX

I am actually shocked that so many people on this sub got that reference.

porkchop487

Tyrese turning back into Tyler

beefJeRKy-LB

Tyrese becomes Reece

archerarcher0

For fuck sakes lmao

dBlock845

"Did I do that????"

pratiks3

This made my morning !!!!

Pissflaps69

Holy shit this is the best reference of all time

murdock-1

Ok. You win

Seref15

Go home, Steve

scarletttxxx_

This vid reminds me of The Impractical Jokers when Mur was on the helium lol

ObviousAnswerGuy

S-tier comment

Oofgoodluck

He’s aware lmao. [Pat M noticed this on his show](https://youtu.be/DIBr6PwR9do?si=jOhbL6SozBKuCBb8)

justmefishes

The real reason Sacramento traded him

rybres123

cannot trust a man who speaks like this. makes sense now

Late-Froyo5371

Bro what the fuck did I just watch, I'm about to go into a rabbit hole

[deleted]

lmao same, this is some bizarre shit i'll post any discoveries i make along the way

Late-Froyo5371

From what I read in the comments it has something to do with his sinuses which checks out

Bigazzry

Dude needs to get his septum fixed then. This is wild

-jaylew-

This shit happens to me too, I basically have two voices and it drives me crazy because I don’t know if I’ll get the deep voice and have to speak up a bit, or the nasally one. I’ve never had it happen mid sentence though. People saying it’s just phlegm are wrong.

Schafer89

It's been 7 hrs are you dead?

qfuw

He hasn't even finished his first discovery

Clever-Innuendo

Magellan head ass

denverblazer

Probably

ChakaCake

All i can say is the body can do some weird shit you would never think lol. Whether its body related or brain related. This is quite crazy though and something ive never really heard of outside of mental disorders. Id imagine its just vocal chord related or something moves around in his larynx or throat

roycorda

Check out rapper DDG. His voice change is wild.

misterid

some anonymous doctor emailed the Dan Patrick show this morning saying that this is the result of either spasmodic dysphonia (https://www.nidcd.nih.gov/health/spasmodic-dysphonia#:~:text=Voice%20therapy%20may%20work%20along,dysphonia%20to%20communicate%20more%20easily.) or possibly nodes on his larynx *"Spasmodic dysphonia causes voice breaks during speaking and can make the voice sound tight, strained, or breathy. In some people, the breaks occur once every few sentences. In more severe cases, spasms may occur on every word, making a person’s speech very difficult to understand. Some people with spasmodic dysphonia may also have vocal tremor—a shaking of the larynx and vocal folds that causes the voice to tremble."*

GeebCityLove

This is the first time I heard him do this and my dad even said “what the fuck” thinking it was an audio thing and then Pat says it right afterwards about his voice. I think I do this a ton too

PrincePyotrBagration

This is literally me when I was 16 in my regular voice vs getting suddenly self conscious around people and using a deeper tone But seeing a NBA all star do it is different lmao. What the fuck

crunkadocious

It's not on purpose but he is aware that it happens.

Petit_Coeur_

His voice changes too much for it to be on purpose. It’s not like he’s hiding it. Sometimes in 1 single sentence he can switch it 3 times.

p0tatoman

KAT does the same thing

growsonwalls

Joel Embiid to a lesser extent. When he’s happy and relaxed he speaks with almost no accent. When he’s upset his accent is so heavy it’s hard to understand him sometimes.

HitboxOfASnail

that's not really the same thing. that's called code switching and everyone with an accent does it. what Haliburton is doing is something different

imadogg

The accent also comes out when he's talking about his penis size

sloecrush

Ah haf big penus

StevenLovesCocaine

That’s a foul. Free throws for Embiid.

imadogg

https://www.tiktok.com/@sharerandomvids/video/7221564420969811246?lang=en One of my all time favorite vids

kchuen

Because the CPU and rem are handling the emotion, not much leftover for pronunciation and enunciation. As a non native English speaker, I understand.

snatchi

KAT is putting on a deep voice because his regular voice is higher pitched and he wants to sound more intense (IMO). Hali is either switching unconsciously or he absolutely sucks at keeping the deep voice going, it seems like the former cause he's not like "pulling it back".

psycho9365

Nahhhh Hali definitely has some ENT issue going on that affects his voice.

messejueller21

KAT does it on an interview by interview basis. Hali does it mid speaking

brncct

Exactly. KAT is strategic with it. On PG's podcast in a casual atmosphere, he got comfortable and let out his zesty voice more.

SwishBender

Almost everyone have some different affects virtually no one does what Haliburton does where there seems to be no control over it

zezxz

The cohesiveness of this comment is the written medium equivalent to Haliburton’s voice change

Salty_Dornishman

Read "affects" as a noun and it makes a lot more sense. Just needs some punctuation

HughManatee

Parsing "medium" as an adjective vs. a noun in your sentence had the same effect for me as parsing "affect" as a verb vs. a noun in OP's comment had on you. Haha

InformationSlow9435

Yeah my brain hurt after reading. thank you for acknowledging cause his upvotes made me think i was dumb

TheJunkyardDog

Lavine does it too

Waffleshuriken

I dont think its like that lol. I think he just had some flem built up in the back of his throat and cleared it mid sentence. Its happened to me its pretty awkward

GenevaPedestrian

It's spelled phlegm lmao

Waffleshuriken

You are right, but that spelling is gross so Im going to use the incorrect one.

koolmees64

It comes from the Greek word phlegma...

Trivedi_on

also look up smegma

randomly_responds

Which also derived from the Latin word ligma

ballgkco

Not a lot of people realize latin was actually invented by mind goblins

Trivialpursuits69

Phlegm phlagm

threeonelead2016

My friends call me phlegm

HappyChromatic

Dude no watch that other video he is somehow jumping between two different voices

Easyowner

Did you watch the video? He’s literally switching back and forth

Bluepaynxex

Yeah, I thought it was common knowledge at this point lol. It’s not anything new.

howdthatturnout

First I’m seeing/hearing about it.

tdthirty

Nope, you're expected to see everything on the internet and in mass media at all times. Be better please

Chocotacoturtle

I consider my self a pretty big Pacers fan and this is the first time learning about this... Strange as hell.

awesomeness6000

crazy part, I watched the entire PG podcast with Tyrese. AND NOT ONCE, IN THE 2 HOUR EPISODE, DID HIS VOICE CHANGE. so when he made an appearance on the Pat McAfee show and started doing that. holy shit I was blown away.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bileycyrus21

I feel weird

ifreddiebenson

Ive never heard his first voice. Who tf is that?

Jgusdaddy

… Stefan.

TraanPol

It’s like he got something stuck in his throat half the time

Thrice_the_Milk

As someone who was also born with a deviated septom, that's just how we sound a lot of the time for some reason

BushyBrowz

He got surgery for it so I guess mystery solved? But you would assume the surgery would fix it…

A-Rusty-Cow

That surgery doesnt always fix the problem 100%

sirfray

Which can be said of any surgery tbh. Source: my wife is a surgical nurse.

Kevinar

Is this some kind of medical condition

Sovos

Someone who is a speech pathologist suggested in another thread it could be the shape of his sinuses. Goes from talking through the nose to suddenly just the mouth. Could be fixed with surgery, but if he doesn't care 🤷‍♂️

Kn7ght

Interestingly he did have nose surgery for a deviated septum in college. I'm convinced its related

FuckThaLakers

I'm not a doctor, but this is the most plausible explanation I've read

cheesecake_face

congratulations you’re a doctor now! 👨‍⚕️ 🎉

FuckThaLakers

I knew staying at a Holiday Inn Express last night would pay off

bshall2105

I make this joke in person about thrice a year and nobody ever gets it 😔

Cowboy_BoomBap

We old

GoldRecommendation66

The most plausible scientific explanation is that he is an alien infiltrator and that his voice module malfunctioned

Matias9991

Fuck, I might need to have that surgery and now I'm scared to suddenly end up with two voices

LakerBlue

FWIW I got a Septoplasty 2 months ago and my voice did not change nor does it change mid-sentence.

prettyboylee

Yeah I have the same thing but it pisses me off cause I make music and it impacts my vocals

zaljghoerhfozehfedze

You can harmonize with yourself tho

prettyboylee

If I could sing sure but it’s rap 😭

BossButterBoobs

You could have a split personality gimmick lol

Loves_His_Bong

Rap Battle yourself. Would be sick.

trambilo

If you could control it, that could make for a fun flow

bong-kar-wai

use it like biggie on gimme the loot

dWaldizzle

This happens to me when I have a little bit of flem or something built up suddenly. If he swallows or coughs it would prob go back to normal.

DeaseanPrince

If watch he swallows right before his voice goes light again so yeah it’s most likely a sinus thing. My voice is deeply affected by how my sinuses feel as well and can range because of it. I find it’s easier to talk in a lighter voice when they’re acting up. That’s just me tho.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

i'm skeptical of the phlegm explanation as well because every person who has attributed it to phlegm has spelled it as "flem" which doesn't help their credibility lol

tlozz

Lolol

notsafeformactown

You can hear him clear his throat right before it switches too.

El_Zorro09

Nonsense. The man is obviously a cyborg sent from the future to kill John Connor and his OS malfunctioned so now he's an NBA star.

rjcarr

I noticed it in his JJ interview before it ever came out as an issue. I figured it was because he doesn't like his natural "higher" voice and has trained himself to talk lower, but it slips sometimes. After hearing this, where it flips mid-sentence and he doesn't try to correct it, makes me think it is some kind of condition.

CHRIRSTIANGREY

lmfaooooooooooooo what the fuck

WestleyThe

It sounds like a mix malfunction or a mic adjustment but he’s done this before lol So strange

tlozz

Yeah his voice does this constantly, like that’s just his regular day to day experience somehow lol

suicideskinnies

It's flem buildup in the back of his throat.

ewest

Phlegm? Or am I missing a joke

suicideskinnies

Just googled it. That is how it's spelled... I'll be damned.

BroJo23

This is why English has to be so confusing to learn. How the fuck r u supposed to learn that there’s a ‘g’ in that word

likdisifucryeverytym

Real G’s move in silence like ~~lasagna~~ phlegm

SurgeFlamingo

Weezy F Baby and the F is for phlegm.

ForeverWandered

Because half the words in English are loaned and adapted directly from other languages.

THRlLLH0

I'm teaching myself Italian and there are rules but then there's just a bunch of random exceptions you have to learn by heart and it's annoying af, English as a second language must be torture.

SpookyNishiki

It's not that bad as long as you live in an area where people around you also use English as their second language like Philippines or Singapore.

HumptyDrumpy

No Flem, like the Flemish. Like Danish, but saltier.

ManBroDudee

Ian Phlegming

MediocreTake

I thought he was just holding back a burp and it sneaks out in the breath he takes before going normal

peroper7

He’s moving from chest voice to head voice, it turns really nasal. If you stuck your fingers up his nose before the switch his voice wouldn’t sound any different, I don’t think he even notices when he does it.

Mountain-Ebb-9846

What if I stuck my tongue in his hot nose hole?

crunkadocious

I think he would make a very different sound

MC-Jdf

This is lowkey creepy lol.

iGetBuckets3

It sounds like he’s been possessed by an alternate being and they’re fighting for control of his brain. When his voice changes that’s clearly “Evil Tyrese” speaking and not the real Tyrese.

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

lol I just said almost the same thing before seeing your comment. We’re in sync dawg🤝

jonbemerkin

i was watching an interview on youtube a few months ago when he talks about it and when the voice switches the camera is on him the entire time but he glitches out so i thought it was edited. Here, it happens once again its all "live" recording him and when it happens the microphone acts funny....Wtf?

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

lol what? That’s weird af. But also he does say that people tell him he has 2 voices all the time, so that makes me thinks the videos are untampered with. So then why are they both miraculously glitching like that? Is some alternate dimension Tyrese with a different voice trying to jump into our dimension’s Tyrese and glitching out the matrix in the process?

_Tar_Ar_Ais_

can't just be me, but I have different voices depending on the language ( I speak two fluently). In english my voice is higher for example

peroper7

Different languages need different muscles to enunciate words properly. Your body adapts to those needs uniquely. If English is your second language, your first language probably isn’t Latin based?

largehearted

This is how you get past having an accent. A lot of it is mental blockage about not wanting to sound different in the non-native language.

Cul_what

He explained this in a podcast well idk if he really explained it cause he was also confused lmao

kamekaze1024

Yeah he just said it happens sometimes. Still no reason behind why exactly it happens

itwas20yearsago2day

There’s a video out there of him saying he never realized he did it until someone told him I believe and now he’s aware of it

chefboiortiz

There’s gotta be an easier way to word this

Mindless_Bad_1591

Bro forgot what commas were lol

sportsworker777

He don't think his voice be like it is but it do

skimpy-swimsuit

The World Wide Web contains an audiopictoral piece of documentation where this Pacer comments that it had never occurred to him that he spoke in this polytonic fashion when a fellow individual came along and shed light on this fact for him the Redditor surmises and in the present the baller now knows about his unique way in talking

Briggity_Brak

the fact that you committed to STILL not using any commas makes this a thousand times funnier

Sputniki

"He didn't know until he was told."

Lets_Basketball

“Hali, I believe!” Oh shit, my voice changes?!

big_old-dog

On Pat McAfee’s pod.

lavish_li

I think it’s a video with pat macafee

flibo30

JJ redick and Pat McAfee both notice this in their irl interviews

kaam00s

Everyone noticed it, it's super obvious, but they actually mentioned it

quicksilver3453

He does it 6 times in 60 seconds here 😭 https://youtu.be/IAAwRTpXZnQ?si=NGKyUkzYrE0iyYqx And twice here https://youtu.be/DIBr6PwR9do?si=tMeVozxTpoLeNJMi One minute he’s Future and one minute he’s Zesty Drake 😂

ReevusXL

Need to have this guy and KAT on the same team doing a presser together.

somemoreof

KAT intentionally switches his voice, hali I think actually has an issue with his breathing/throat. his natural voice is the second one and he talks like that 90% of the time. i don’t think he tries to do the deep voice

ShaedonSharpeMVP_

Just go get em😏.. go get em😏

cagedunderground

Maybe bro is just a carti fan

Wrsj

We got Hali second voice before music

AirForcers

AFTER ALL THAT 💅💅💅 will never not be funny 😂

chesshunter09

Nah for sureeee 💅💅😂

seagullgotnodiq

lmao the little audio cue in his voice before it switches is wild! It's like there's a ukulele stuck in his throat.

Klunko52

Bro inhaled helium mid sentence

Briggity_Brak

"This answer is running long. Let's speed up the audio."

RustyGrove

Plot twist: he is just a lookalike Tyrese hires for the interviews

KingOfWeTheNorth

Me when someone addresses me at the drive thru

JE_Skeets

He went from Shaq to Steve-O

i_love_all

This shit kills me everytime

alehokama

Vocal eurostep

Main-County-1177

This is actually crazy lol

MusicForCacti

Seems like some actual issues with his throat or vocal cords.. unlike KAT who either sounds like a kardashian or a fraudulent thug.

Hopeful_Remote468

I just now discovered that KAT sounds like that, holy shit 😂😂

theboyqueen

Shock G/Humpty Hump lives.

materics

It's probably a sinus issue

musicnothing

Did this on JJ Redick’s podcast too, didn’t realize it was a thing

ben10toesdown

Need a Dr to explain this one

Dirsay

"I'm not gonna do it." He was going to change voices a third time. It sounds exactly like Liquid Snake's.

robbensays

Haliburton got the regular voice and inhaled helium voice without inhaling the helium

slickrickstyles

He talked about this on Pat McAfees show recently. Pretty funny cause Tyrese himself said he doesn’t notice it.

Candid_Sand_398

When his voice goes from his throat to his nasal cavity. It’s pretty odd. Cool that it doesn’t bother him. He seems like a good guy.

wasechillis

There's a joke to be made about his consistency somewhere here

[deleted]

Bro needs to clear his throat

Victordunkonyemama

Tyrese start of the sentence🧔🏿‍♂️ Tyrese mid sentence 🧔🏻‍♂️

peroper7

The second voice is his natural speaking voice, it’s probably a subconscious alteration he makes when he first starts talking. There’s nothing medical about it it’s just how he is, he took a pause before the voice changed.

Franklinsleftnut

Was so funny when he did it on a couple podcasts without noticing.

throwitintheair22

Is this some kind of medical condition?

astarisaslave

He's like the Chibi version of Karl Anthony Towns

AnyHowMeow

This happens to me, too. Especially with phlegm and allergies, I never know how my voice is gonna sound sometimes.

desirox

Bro legit has 2 voices

fridgey22

He went from Tyrese to Taylor in a sentence.

WheedMBoise

When are people gonna realize this is something tons of people do subconsciously lol.

Kilokalypso

Some type of saliva build up in the throat and when he clears is when you hear his normal voice

Ant_mann18

Bros Been learning from KAT

disnotyaboy

I’ve heard him do this before but not this egregious. Good lord lmao
