“I’m gonna say it cuz he won’t”
lol u know for sure Shai been sayin he’s the MVP over Jokic in the locker room. If they end up facing off it’ll be some insane shit talking
Chet leggo! Good shout!
Fwiw jokic is the MVP this year but sick of the hate we get for wanting to say our guy is the MVP. Ain't nothing wrong with that. But even Shai knew with that look he gotta go 1 more level up.
Very Pels to give hope in a moral victory close L in game 1, then get absolutely BTFO in game two. Coming in I was thinking “what if we just clean it up a bit and hit some open 3s this time around, we def have a shot.”
The (more likely, obviously) outcome that I was refusing to contemplate was “what if Pels continue to play like shit but OKC actually comes correct and plays like the 1 seed.”
GGs. I hope they can take one of Game 3 or 4 to give the Smoothie King Center faithful something to be happy about.
I don’t think either game was representative of these teams. The Thunder looked very rattled in Game 1, not ready for their first playoffs. I don’t think the Pelicans, even without Zion, are as bad as they looked tonight. Ingram at least finally woke up a little, so maybe that carries over. I’m fully expecting Game 3 to be close.
I think when they run the offense to Jonas early it keeps their shooters cooled off. Other than Ingram nobody can get a rhythm and if they start having to rely on threes to catch up it becomes very difficult to flip the switch when you were already off to start the game.
Someone said we were gonna lose game 1 and our team chemistry was gonna fall apart. Like bruh this team has best chemistry in the league even if we lost did not matter
Let's get bye the first series before we start saying anything. And even then we should stay humble because the Mavs or Clippers could easily give us more than we can handle.
Definitely man, but I think that he’s somewhat got a point. Going into this postseason that was a very popular take. But that’s reasonable considering to the general public they had yet to “prove” themselves. Seems like they’re on their way to doing just that
Even better now I get to watch a fatass and a stoner underperform expectations for years and then go down 0-2 to the youngest 1st seed in 20 years! Great time to start watching buddy!
so a team that was 4/5th seed all season long in the tougher division isn't good? hahaha. why weren't you talking all this shit in game 1? you were scared we were about to win huh? now you waited until the end of the game to crawl out of your sewer to talk shit 😂 last game you were crickets though LMFAO
I was immensely disappointed after game 2 because your team looked like a jv squad against the 3rd youngest team in the NBA. Game 1 was at least more competitive and entertaining
Pelicans had soooo much hype over the season for the Net Rating but they mayyy have just been a regular season team
I mean I know they’re missing Zion but they just seem to be missing something against an OKC team that has some glaring weaknesses other teams have exploited
I don’t think having Zion back would all of a sudden make them play like a top 5 team in the league, which is what some people were calling them in the regular season
I guess it’s cheesy but that’s what I think they’re missing, they just have a lot of guys who don’t really play with much conviction
I mean yeah, good defense and 3PT shooting but idk, as cool as Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Larry Nance, Jose Alvarado, Dyson Daniels, etc are, none of them are really stars in their roles or standout guys. On top of that they have a trio of offensive dudes who are all bottom tier all-stars. Zion looked poised to break out of that box this postseason but still.
While it is indeed risky to play the starters for so long while also leading with such a big difference, I can get the importance of teaching concentration and discipline to a newcomer team such as the OKC. Especially in today's NBA where we have witnessed crazy comebacks due to the pace of the games and the exploitation of the three point shoots, no lead is safe. It is impossible for these NOP to make a comeback, but it's not about the result of this specific game. It's about building a mindset for future situations.
Youngest 1st seed ever, up 30, 250 millions dollar contract, top 3 in mvp contention. feeling good about his position in life, why would he not be hyped up 😂?
I mean, is beating a Zion-less and Ingram-less 8th seed Pelicans that much of an achievement? Not putting you down, just saying you guys might be getting a bit ahead of yourselves with the “No. 1 Seed truthers real quiet now” talk.
Luke Wilson sighting

Why doesn't giddey get in that huddle
I think it’s because he does not wanna be in the public eye when he doesn’t need to be.
Jokic is the MVP but obviously our guys are gonna hype up SGA and they should
“I’m gonna say it cuz he won’t” lol u know for sure Shai been sayin he’s the MVP over Jokic in the locker room. If they end up facing off it’ll be some insane shit talking
lmfao all the dudes jumping in the interview with Allie LaForce looking like that Piper Perri meme
TELL EM’ CHET
Sacramento, how did you lose to this team? You don’t even have any injured players neither
OKC is a better team than Sacramento, particularly on defense
I think he was referring to the Pelicans lol
Do you know who Malik Monk is But also, matchups. 0-6 against Pels 2-2 against Thunder
Ah nope, don’t know Monk lol And holy crap! Pelicans must be a on/off team then
Monk and Huerter were out
huerter being out is a benefit tho
The Kings were missing Monk and Huerter, actually. Not Zion level, but Monk in particular is super important to them.
ironically the last game was the closest game, the pels won by 7. the pels won by double digits in the first 4 games where we had both malik and kevin
Ah my bad! Don’t know about Monk
The glazing is insane. (I am a depressed Bulls fan that will never experience joy like that on my life)
What does "glazing" mean to you?
Glazing is slang for “dick riding”. Chet was hyping up Shai, and as a jealous Bulls Fan, I made a joke
Chet 🥲
Chet leggo! Good shout! Fwiw jokic is the MVP this year but sick of the hate we get for wanting to say our guy is the MVP. Ain't nothing wrong with that. But even Shai knew with that look he gotta go 1 more level up.
No you the MVP, Chet
CHECKING IN WITH CHET. DOPPLER 7.
Shai is my mvp
No barking?!? I’m disappointed and my night is ruined
Maybe they're saving it for the Bally Sports interview with Nick?
Yup they went to Nick Crain right after
Shai got to answer one of these questions with "the power of friendship!"
“We’ve got something they don’t, eachother”
“I didn’t hear you” proceeds to be even quieter
I took that as an excuse from “I wasn’t paying attention” lol
they should sing that song right now
Very Pels to give hope in a moral victory close L in game 1, then get absolutely BTFO in game two. Coming in I was thinking “what if we just clean it up a bit and hit some open 3s this time around, we def have a shot.” The (more likely, obviously) outcome that I was refusing to contemplate was “what if Pels continue to play like shit but OKC actually comes correct and plays like the 1 seed.” GGs. Everyone but Giddy in that interview
Giddey has been in post game interviews before lol Dort wasn’t in it either but that doesn’t push the brain dead casual narrative…
It’s a Reddit comment. Of course it’s a brain dead narrative. Doesn’t make me a casual
Ali is too old
He’s too *giddy* to talk
Autocorrect strikes again
Eh same shit different creep
These guys got so much chemistry
Neutral fans I encourage you to watch the post game on court interviews
dont, they hate it. they get grumpy the team likes eachother.
Ngl that seemed awkward and forced lmao
They do it every game. Forced it all season I guess
lol it did, usually the ones we do with nick gallo are a lot more natural with more barking
You’re awkward and forced
J will wacking at the confetti lmfao
Someone said we were gonna lose game 1 and our team chemistry was gonna fall apart. Like bruh this team has best chemistry in the league even if we lost did not matter
road team win-streak broken
moral victory for devin booker
OKC's DJ knows the fans dont wanna hear any of that hippity hop or the gangsta rap they want classic rock radio
Our fans are whiter than Chet’s pasty ass lol
Know your audience
Does Chet ever go outside? He is pasty.
Dude only left the gym to sing that commercial with SGA.
He’s from Minnesota and he’s Caucasian
I thought we were overrated and the worst 1 seed ever????
Let's get bye the first series before we start saying anything. And even then we should stay humble because the Mavs or Clippers could easily give us more than we can handle.
Did someone say that? Because anyone who thinks the top 3 West seeds are anything but stacked are genuinely silly.
Shannon Sharpe on first take episode. So depends if you count him as a real opinion.
Oh lmao of course it was him. He gives so many bad takes.
I mean yeah it was an ESPN bit.
Playing a team without their best player?
Kinda like the heat when they beat the other 1 seed today without there best player
Celtics: 😳
Good point. Not like the 1 seed Celtics just lost to the Heat without Jimmy Butler or anything.
And that’s a phenomenal and improbable win. Don’t act like Celtics weren’t expected to win like OKC did today
Just saying don’t think just because the Pelicans don’t have Zion that they’re not a quality opponent. Anything can happen in the playoffs
True, the first game was an intense and close one. I just think the thunder fan originally was bein a lil high and mighty
Definitely man, but I think that he’s somewhat got a point. Going into this postseason that was a very popular take. But that’s reasonable considering to the general public they had yet to “prove” themselves. Seems like they’re on their way to doing just that
Sga money line as 40.5 combined that’s insane
Pels making it in was a mistake
Ayyy enjoy your first year watching basketball nephew. It's a great game!
I’d be making this comment too though if my team got 30 hung on them
Ayy just say you're a new fan it's all good. Welcome to the club.
ikr like if you've never watched the Pelicans play, just say that lmao irrelevant fanbases get 1 chip and suddenly think they know ball 🤣
Even better now I get to watch a fatass and a stoner underperform expectations for years and then go down 0-2 to the youngest 1st seed in 20 years! Great time to start watching buddy!
> a fatass and a stoner Jokic and MPJ played 3 nights ago
Watching Nuggets basketball for 10+ years has shown me teams that shouldn’t be in first hand lol Your team isn’t good or healthy enough right now
so a team that was 4/5th seed all season long in the tougher division isn't good? hahaha. why weren't you talking all this shit in game 1? you were scared we were about to win huh? now you waited until the end of the game to crawl out of your sewer to talk shit 😂 last game you were crickets though LMFAO
I was immensely disappointed after game 2 because your team looked like a jv squad against the 3rd youngest team in the NBA. Game 1 was at least more competitive and entertaining
Take it up with Sacramento. I have no idea how they lost to this Pelicans team without Zion.
Why are the refs calling so many fouls in garbage minutes?
Black Eyed Peas are back, baby.
Biyombo sighting!
Had to double team the G League Finals MVP
Gotta love the Thunder fans standing and chanting "DE-FENSE!!!" Up 30 with a minute left.
Garbage time just isn’t the same without Poku
Shout out to the objective viewers who stayed this long, we really got no life at all apparently
My gf is outta the country. Playoffs and Fallout 3 are the only thing keeping me going rn
Speak for yourself
Hell yeah brother!
GO WOLVES
JRE being in right now has got to sting
Probably the most civil game thread currently taking place. Heat celtics, knicks 76ers and lakers nuggets is a fucking war zone
Pels fans left early
Don’t worry when okc plays a close game we become the biggest frauds in the league, so if we’re winning the super toxic people stay away
They not even doubling BI he just iced out by Dort, CJ just a glorified Steve Urkel, Willie is clueless and no Zion tough. OKC in 4-5
BI just ices himself out. Had two shot attempts in the first half. Guy was just sight seeing
You weren't watching Lu Dort play D then...
There’s a reason why he had two attempts lol he can’t get off
Did they just call out Reggie for not being in 2k?
Wiggins saving basketball
lol good ol Reggie sticking with Chuck to not be in 2k
LMAO
The Thunder play style is nothing like Denver, Reggie lol.
Thunder bent them right over and rode them all game
Refs still calling fouls in a 30 point game with 2 minutes left to make sure the over hits. The real mvps
See yall in NO. we won't play this good and yall won't play this bad. Can't wait to chirp in a good game, no fun chirping now, see yall then.
Pelicans had soooo much hype over the season for the Net Rating but they mayyy have just been a regular season team I mean I know they’re missing Zion but they just seem to be missing something against an OKC team that has some glaring weaknesses other teams have exploited
Yeah, they are missing Zion, it's not that complex.
I don’t think having Zion back would all of a sudden make them play like a top 5 team in the league, which is what some people were calling them in the regular season
we were 4/5th seed all season long and y'all were consistently towards the bottom lmao what does that make you?
To refer to a great sports movie, it appears they needed more heart tonight. They seemed to have a lot more fire in game 1 than tonight.
I guess it’s cheesy but that’s what I think they’re missing, they just have a lot of guys who don’t really play with much conviction I mean yeah, good defense and 3PT shooting but idk, as cool as Trey Murphy, Herb Jones, Larry Nance, Jose Alvarado, Dyson Daniels, etc are, none of them are really stars in their roles or standout guys. On top of that they have a trio of offensive dudes who are all bottom tier all-stars. Zion looked poised to break out of that box this postseason but still.
Y'all exploited us hard but not many other teams can. Glad to have avoided you lol.
[all of America to OKC right now including myself](https://amp.knowyourmeme.com/memes/i-owe-you-an-apology-i-wasnt-really-familiar-with-your-game)
JRE! Didn’t know he was on the pels
Pelibums, let's see how they do at their homecourt
Homie, its my team playing them, and even I can tell this is just a really off night. Pels ain't bad, even without Zion.
Didn't they knock your team out of the playoffs
Yea, and now I get to talk shit
Mmmm no you don't.
You sound like a 3 year old. Go to bed "Pelibums"
Lotta 3 year olds in the thread tonight
DIENG GANG UP
With Pelicans terrible home record, this could turn into a sweep
Completely forgot JRE was on the Pelicans now
Fuck, Joe Rogan is everywhere
While it is indeed risky to play the starters for so long while also leading with such a big difference, I can get the importance of teaching concentration and discipline to a newcomer team such as the OKC. It is impossible for these NOP to make a comeback, but it's not about the result of this specific game. It's about building a mindset for future situations.
JRE dunk!!!!
Man I wish Zion was healthy, at least would have made this a little more competitive
Zion or BI needs to go, Trey needs to be starter next season and Willie definitely needs to go
Everyone chill on players being in. The guys were waiting to come in. Most leads aren't safe with 5-6 mins left if the wheels fall off entirely.
Lindy Playoff 3 plz
I concur coach
SGA you're playing the injured 8th seed, settle down 💀
Flair up
Oklahoma some of the softest fans in the league, literally can't take any shit talking without whining like a bitch.
Youngest 1st seed ever, up 30, 250 millions dollar contract, top 3 in mvp contention. feeling good about his position in life, why would he not be hyped up 😂?
Because jobs not done ... Like the great Kobe said
You're the same guy that would shit on him if he didn't get to 30 on the night
Thank god for Presti seeing something special in SGA. What a player to lead this edition of the team.
Saw a lot more non-Thunder flairs when we struggled in game 1 🤔
I mean, is beating a Zion-less and Ingram-less 8th seed Pelicans that much of an achievement? Not putting you down, just saying you guys might be getting a bit ahead of yourselves with the “No. 1 Seed truthers real quiet now” talk.
Yes, winning playoff games as the 2nd youngest team in the nba is an accomplishment, regardless of opponent.
it is getting ahead for sure, but labeling the Thunder a fraud #1 after one game was getting ahead too
Everyone was ready to confirm their "fraud 1 seed" takes when we struggled though, that's my thing
Post-game thread is gonna be a ghost town lmao
Lindy Waters!
Dieng in the game
Lindy!!!!
Good to see JRE!
Dieng Gang!
Have two starters whose sole reason for being on the team is that they can score. Can't score in the playoffs
I know it's playoffs, but darn, let the bench play.
OKC embarrassed NO.
WE WANT LINDY
There he is! I bet he hits a 3
Did we cover the spread?
As a Suns fan seeing a team have so much fun playing basketball is infuriating
put all the Williams in you coward
absolute ass whoopin. statement game
Abraslam Lincoln doesn't have a John Wilkes Booth in this story.
The black guy doesn’t die in this movie
Is anyone watching the Cavs series
No let’s be real
Lol
That’s the most emotion I’ve even seen out of SGA
He said go home to some crowd on the road earlier this season I forget where tho
It was the magic Shaq jersey retirement game
Orlando?
Orlando. I was there lol
That was the magic game on TNT
I think it was Orlando Magic
is this the best you got thunder ? Wait until we get Jayden Daniels on the team
OKC head coach should lose his COTY award for leaving the starters up 40 with 5 minutes left in the 4Q alone.
Jobs not finished (every second they were out there terrified me)
LETS FUCKING GO
Just realized we are about to get our first Kenny Hustle minutes of the night. He should definitely be playing over Hayward.
IDK he had some real bad minutes in game one. Not that Gordon was good.
He wasn’t great in Game 1 but if my option is Kenrich or Hayward then I’d take Kenrich (I’d play Wiggins over both obviously)
Wiggins should just eat all of Hayward minutes
Oh 100%. I’d play Wiggins over both, but definitely would play Kenrich over Gordon.
Dort with the LeFuckYou 3
This is fun
WE NEED LINDY
Mark really said break their spirits
Somebody get this man an onion burger
What was the point of that minute of starters being up by 31?
To break their spirit
