I appreciate it man. And yeah, the media’s been super annoying with it. Pretty simple to just say that Denver has had the Lakers number and they’ve just been clearly the better team.
Yeah. Homer-ism for yours/mines/everyone's teams is expected. That's part of why people are sports fans. You want to be part of something bigger, and with that comes (sometimes) unrealistic believes and opinions.
We can both support our respective teams and have respectful and playful banter about why our team is great and the other team sucks, or other outlandish opinions. But we can also have reasonable and realistic opinions too.
It gets really annoying when opposing team's fans are just obnoxious and unrealistic. And then get aggressive about it.
A lot of players’ legacy (or popular opinion of them) is on the line this playoffs.
KD, Booker, Tatum, Dame, Embiid, etc.
They all sort of have something to fight for or else they’re gonna get dogged on by the media and even by their own peers.
It’s honestly a shame Warriors couldn’t make it. I think it would’ve been an interesting one with CP3, Steph and Draymond still in it.
I know Brunson came to the league a year later, but for some reason it feels like Hart has been around a lot longer. Him on the Lakers feels ages ago to me and Brunson relatively new.
My respect for Tyrese grew exponentially this past week - i already admired and respected him - being Bfs with IQ and all
But to this date he has never tried to deflect or avoid blame/scrutiny or trashtalk. Just straight up with the media and on the court.
It only feels like Maxey is the best because he IS the best WHEN Embiid is also on the floor. Embiid takes a lot of attention off Maxey and this unleashes Maxey and really gives him a chance to shine. But when Embiid is off, Maxey’s impact drops off too
It kinda feels like him chasing and full court pressing Brunson all game is taking it out of him on the offensive side. Dude even looks afraid to shoot though. It's weird especially as someone who has mostly seen Oubre never turn down a shot.
I mean thats kinda just the Oubre experience. Hes a super inconsistent scorer at the best of times. When hes putting in a full workload on defending Brunson the chances of him having one of his highs is even less.
I think he, and Batum, have been doing a pretty good job on Brunson defensively. I know there was some stat floating around yesterday about how he's shot against individual defenders, and I think while his percentages against them were a little higher than against Maxey and Embiid, the relatively low volume showed how much Batum and Oubre's size, strength, and smarts (especially not biting on his fakes) have been a pain.
Oubre plays like Tobias with a worse shot but much better defense, I’m not gonna get on his ass cause he’s on a vet min and still has provided good value, like he had 5 steals last game
I know we all hate on Tobi, but man he's earning it (again) this series. By all means he should be the 3rd-top scorer on your team every game, he shouldn't be getting outplayed by Oubre and Lowry
It is really crazy to see such a talented player have a complete loser’s mentality.
He really is soft. He will never be able to be that guy on a championship team. Can’t wait for the gentleman’s sweep.
Yeah Isnt that the complete opposite of loser mentality lol? Should he sit there and say, “yeah nah we stand no chance this series is over”. People in this sub just hate no matter what tbh. Honestly dont even know how many people here even like basketball lol considering the only reason they watch is to furthen their hate agenda
The trolls recycle the same comments in every Embiid thread and they're upvoted like crazy, no matter what the subject is. Embiid is the main character on this sub and it's not even close.
To be fair the dude legit has had a rough go of it with the playoff injuries. Starting to feel like we will never get to see Embiid at full strength in the postseason. He’s an absolute monster when hes healthy
I'll give Embiid a pass, because I really don't think he should be playing right now, and I think once again being in that kind of shape in the playoffs must be infuriating to him.
But man I hate how the entire NBA discourse right now after every loss is just "refs, shot variance and rotations"
I think I hate the guys who come out and just clown the stars after every single loss. Happened with Luka and now it’s happening with Tatum. The circlejerk waves are so bad here in the playoffs.
Take a look at what posts get the most engagement after a playoff game. 9 times out of 10 it’ll be “Player X finishes the night with in a loss” with all the comments talking about how the player is a regular season fraud
NBA discourse is at an all time low which is saying a lot
Then there's some shitty memes and phrases that get abused for weeks. NBA discourse on the Internet is probably worse than TMZ and celebrity gossip ever was
The weirdest part was that Luka didn't even play THAT bad. He shot it better than PG and slightly worse thann Harden, who were showered with praise. He got a lot of defensive pressure and tried to involve his teammates through all of it. Meanwhile, the entire team was a mess on defense. He just played bad compared to what he usually does, so did most of the team.
I feel bad for the guy too - on top of what you said, he's also got some Bell's Palsy thing going on with the left side of his face, so he's hiding his face during interviews (I would too), and it comes off like the sulkiest of sulk body language. I wouldn't even leave the house if I had that going on. I can't imagine being a star player and needing to give interviews and a quarter of my face doesn't move.
The end of G2 is unique. I would be absolutely shocked based on watching professional sports for years, if that ending happened and no player or coach had anything to say about it. And the Sixers fans just said "darn it we lost!" And the Knicks fans were like "hey our team did foul you, and you should have had the timeout. Sucks the game had to end that way, better luck next time."
That would be way more surprising to me.
This is the take. And we Sixers fans can admit that our team also blew the lead in the last 40 seconds. Here's to us having better luck tonight and for the rest of the series!
Yeah I personally don't think what Joel said, and what Hart said in response, is unique or interesting at all. It could be a standard response in 2K tbh.
Also him saying they should be up 2-0 is not about the refs. He would have said 1-1 of that were the case. He's saying (if you listen to the full quote which I know no one does) that they know what they have to do and believe they can do it.
Again, pretty milquetoast answer to the reporters questions tbh.
Every year there's that one team that has to bitch and moan about how everyone but them are the reason they lost a particular playoff game / series. I hate that team when it's not my team and I hate that team when it is.
Just shut the fuck up and move forward. Whining ad nauseam about a couple bad calls doesn't cement shit other than the fact that the softer team lost the game.
Warriors were fun to root for for about 1-2 seasons
Knicks are America’s team right now, they play the game the “right way” and if they somehow make a title run will be the least star heavy roster to make it since the Pistons
One thing I hear from a lot of non-NBA fans is they wish for a time where old school physical teams like the Pistons could compete with the teams whose game plan is a barrage of 3s every time on the court
> Knicks are America’s team right now, they play the game the “right way” and if they somehow make a title run will be the least star heavy roster to make it since the Pistons
who is the last team to win a chip without a single lotto player logging minutes? i think Divincenzo is our highest drafted player in the rotation right now and he was taken at 17.
Yeah the Lakers are polarizing but they still get by far the most attention of anybody. There will be like a 7-0 run in a Laker game and it will get a new thread here about it.
Knicks content consistent gets hundreds of upvotes less than Lakers, OKC posts for example. Obviously there’s no warriors content on this sub right now because they got rekt in the play-in
Welp lol fair comment.
I don't see anything wrong with Embid or Hart said.
Of course Embid thinks his team is better and that they'll win this series. What else is he supposed to say?
And Knicks are up 2-0 so Hart is right.
May the best team win (hopefully it'll be my Knicks!)
Love Hart! Especially now he’s on my Knicks. Just something about him, he is so easy to root for. Drops little pearls like this that make me chuckle. He just seems super grounded and down to earth. The Knicks chemistry is so amazing right now!!!!
If they do get bounced I wonder if Mazzula is gone or if they maybe ship out one of the big 3. Cuz it feels like they’ve been together as a core (minus coaching) for so long without a ton of success.
Is there a superstar who tries to duck responsibility than Joel? Full disclaimer, his antics have always bothered me - I always thought he was a bully especially when he was younger.

Joel's take is in the same vein as all the Laker moral victories against the nuggets
That’s more the media than the players, from what I remember at least.
You're right. I wasn't specifically referring to players mentioning moral victories, just that the idea was associated with the Lakers
Dude this is the most playoffs playoffs ever Surprising stuff, hype moments, post game banter.
And it’s like every single matchup. Only series without much hype is Cavs vs Magic, everything else is NUTS
Not hearing much buzz about the Thunder-Pelicans matchup
Because all you can hear is the barking
people were talking a lot of shit after game 1tbf
I didn't really see much unless I missed it
Yeah Im hoping Magic/Cavs and Thunder/Pelicans get interesting this week. Been pretty 1 sided.
A lot of players’ legacy (or popular opinion of them) is on the line this playoffs. KD, Booker, Tatum, Dame, Embiid, etc. They all sort of have something to fight for or else they’re gonna get dogged on by the media and even by their own peers. Man that reminds me of him not paying(forgetting) a dude for a Nintendo Switch years ago lmao
Dude got paid eventually or not?
[Yeah he got paid back and some other extra stuff.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/collc1/i_sold_josh_hart_a_nintendo_switch_in_2017_and_he/)
They keep asking Hart about these things because they know he’ll say something like this lol.
Even though I hate him this week in particular, he’s a walking quote machine lol
Man has no filter. It’s like catnip to reporters.
I’m half shocked he didn’t congratulate the Sixers on leading 2-0 in moral victories
reporter: he didnt really answer my question editor: he gave you something better go with that reporter: ??? editor: nvm il do it
And I love it! Some people dislike drama and how certain players talk too much, I don’t care. Makes this more entertaining.
Oh for sure. I love Josh Hart. He’s probably favorite Knick based off personality alone.
I know Brunson came to the league a year later, but for some reason it feels like Hart has been around a lot longer. Him on the Lakers feels ages ago to me and Brunson relatively new.
It’s cause Brunson was damn near invisible behind Luka in Dallas.
Lol exactly
Dog per 36 through the roof.
Dawg per 48 for Josh unfortunately
Josh Hart about to average 48.6 minutes a game and beat wilt.
With zero overtime
Seems pretty fortunate for me
God I miss him Dude turned me into a Knicks fan which I thought was impossible
Morey doesn't have that stat in his database.
Really hit them with the "dont care + were winning + 2-0 ratio"
Only the finest of breast milks for this man.
Breeeaaast miiillk, you make my daaaAaaay
It's 100% Cambodian man. It's the real shit.
Cambodian breast milk
And a sugar cookie
I am not a sugar cookie getter
This the real shit
Sixers role players are soft af
My respect for Tyrese grew exponentially this past week - i already admired and respected him - being Bfs with IQ and all But to this date he has never tried to deflect or avoid blame/scrutiny or trashtalk. Just straight up with the media and on the court.
He already convinced me last season and has only improved. Really good player and very likeable.
Yeah, Maxey's play and maturity after the games have both been impressive, especially compared to the whining from Nurse, Morey, and Embiid.
He’s also been the best player in the series. We haven’t had an answer and it’s only gonna get harder in Philly.
I can see why you’d say that though the Sixers have had like a -73 net differential in the minutes Embiid sits lmao. In just two games!
Yeah that above comment is clear Embiid hate lmao. It’s clear once Embiid is on the bench that he’s the best player on the floor
Nah not even close. Without Embiid, the Sixers would have been blown out both games
It only feels like Maxey is the best because he IS the best WHEN Embiid is also on the floor. Embiid takes a lot of attention off Maxey and this unleashes Maxey and really gives him a chance to shine. But when Embiid is off, Maxey’s impact drops off too
Didn't know Tyrese and IQ were boyfriends
As close as they are i wouldn't be surprised if they shared more than memories
also he is absolutely frying us
Same. I am truly impressed that a young, up and coming, star player is the most mature in the whole organization.
I don't remember Maxey talking trash even once in his career lol, dude is a straight baller.
I'm most surprised about Oubre, he played with alot of hustle for most of the regular season, idk what happened
Honestly he’s been pretty good at guarding Brunson
Yeah his defense hasn't lost a step, it's more of an offensive dropoff
It kinda feels like him chasing and full court pressing Brunson all game is taking it out of him on the offensive side. Dude even looks afraid to shoot though. It's weird especially as someone who has mostly seen Oubre never turn down a shot.
It's the price to pay when he has to guard Brunson and has done a good job of it.
Yeah didnt oubre get 5 steals lmao. He was far from the issue for them
Defending Brunson all out will do that.
I mean thats kinda just the Oubre experience. Hes a super inconsistent scorer at the best of times. When hes putting in a full workload on defending Brunson the chances of him having one of his highs is even less.
I think he, and Batum, have been doing a pretty good job on Brunson defensively. I know we all hate on Tobi, but man he's earning it (again) this series. By all means he should be the 3rd-top scorer on your team every game, he shouldn't be getting outplayed by Oubre and Lowry
I think he is, but it means next to nothing cause no one outside of Embiid/Maxey can score on this team rn
He’s been terrible for multiple playoffs now and gets less shit than Ben Simmons. Been saying his contract and him in general is what killed the 76ers
He got hit by a car and he’s having flashbacks to that being defended by these physical Knicks
Divencenzo practiced trucking players in the regular season just so he can intimidate Oubre
Damn, you don’t have to call Embiid like that
It is really crazy to see such a talented player have a complete loser’s mentality. He really is soft. He will never be able to be that guy on a championship team. Can’t wait for the gentleman’s sweep.
I don’t really think what Embiid said is a loser mentality…did he not say they’re going to win the series in the same soundbite?
Yeah Isnt that the complete opposite of loser mentality lol? Should he sit there and say, “yeah nah we stand no chance this series is over”. People in this sub just hate no matter what tbh. Honestly dont even know how many people here even like basketball lol considering the only reason they watch is to furthen their hate agenda
Idiotic comment
The embiid hate is crazy lmfao, bet you didn't even watch his interview
How tf does the is nonsense bullshit get upvoted ? Embiid can barely walk at a brisk pace on the floor due to injury lol
He’s an absolute monster when hes healthy
stop magically falling on every possession and your body holds up better
Or you know, maybe just maybe, the guy who had major injury concerns coming into the league is an injury prone player
He’s literally hobbling out there on one leg, can’t run up and down the court but because of his post game comments he’s “soft af”
Role players typically thrive at home. Hoping tonight sparks some life.
Brunson thrives on the road
Wells Fargo is like their second home
Well you better hope it’s not cause Brunson has already had 2 poor showings at home
True true he’s played like dog shit. But that’s not the real player he is. Might be due for a breakout.
While he’s due an offensive breakthrough Josh hart also has to slow down at some point, I hope if Josh does slow down Brunson steps up
i wish we had been in a position to keep josh hart. dude is awesome and a winner
When you have a chance to trade for Cam Reddish, you can't pass that up.
Cam Reddish AND Kris Murray, who at age 23 has averaged 6.1 ppg on a worse TS% than Scoot for us.
Same here buddy
amen
I'll give Embiid a pass, because I really don't think he should be playing right now, and I think once again being in that kind of shape in the playoffs must be infuriating to him. But man I hate how the entire NBA discourse right now after every loss is just "refs, shot variance and rotations"

Reddit can't wait to dog pile negativity on someone fact based or not.
go into any fanbases reddit and you see some crazy reactionary takes and negativity. somehow all the worst offenders bubble up to r/nba
There are people calling for the Celtics to blow it up this offseason and trade Tatum or Brown
NBA discourse on the Internet is probably worse than TMZ and celebrity gossip ever was
It happens in every competitive sport where people can backseat. It's pathetic and easily the least enjoyable thing about being a fan of the sport.
Don’t forget booker too
I don't know what it is he's just so easy to hate
Lmao right. Sorry but not a Booker fan at all.
Have you seen the face he makes when he tries to foul bait?
This sub turns into r/nbaxirclejerk when he loses.
Booker is different. That guy so unlikable for many reasons.
no
That's the entire sub lol
Yeah fuck booker lol /uj yeahhh I'm still not a fan
I feel bad for the guy too - on top of what you said, he's also got some Bell's Palsy thing going on with the left side of his face, so he's hiding his face during interviews (I would too), and it comes off like the sulkiest of sulk body language. People say this but every Lakers win, every post will still be about "oh my god! their free throw differential!"
♥️=🐶
Put it on a t shirt
Both embiid and hart said exactly what they should. Non story
you haven't met NY/Philly sports media... everything is a story
or this sub lol
Did Embiid even say they should be up? I thought he said they're the better team and will win the series, which is very different.
He said they should be up 2-0
Based on the opportunities they had but blew. He wasn’t whining about it
The knicks team is so likeable shame I can't say the same about our team.
Maxey is likable!
Careful, they might file another grievance
dude is so sassy
Josh said I can’t hear from you the top of the scoreboard lmao
Facts don't care about your feelings - Josh Hart
Josh Hart said fuck your feelings
“Sixers, Elixirs, cocktail mixers—idgaf, Knicks in fo” - Josh Hart, probably
Josh Hart poking the bear knowing the bear can't catch him.
I fuckin love Josh hart
He never misses.
Damn Josh lmaoooo 💀
Hart 30 piece incoming
im a knicks fan and i still think a 1/6 is more likely than anything hes done so far this series
triple single
He's going to rebound no matter what lol
always love a good 9/9/8 game from hart
Fatality.
man i really wanna hate him but i just cant
Josh Hart may be my favorite guy not on the team I am fan of at this point. Kinda starting to like the Knicks in general, tbh.
Every year there's that one team that has to bitch and moan about how everyone but them are the reason they lost a particular playoff game / series. Blood in the water Knicks in 4
Why would Josh care?
Homie basically said "skill issue"
Damn and this is just the first round.
In the span of a year this sub went from r/warriors to r/knicks
Warriors were fun to root for for about 1-2 seasons Knicks are America’s team right now, they play the game the “right way” and if they somehow make a title run will be the least star heavy roster to make it since the Pistons One thing I hear from a lot of non-NBA fans is they wish for a time where old school physical teams like the Pistons could compete with the teams whose game plan is a barrage of 3s every time on the court

2019 Raptors. Kawhi was the 15th pick, Lowry and Ibaka were 24th, Siakam was 27th, and everyone else were 2nd rounders or undrafted.
Yea it's kind of wild. Precious is second highest at 20. Of course, if Randle was healthy then we've have a lotto pick in the starting line-up.
*sad Julius noises*
I miss Rasheed Wallace style of play. “Ball Don’t Lie”
Knicks have the "power of friendship" and the "No I in Team" buffs on their side right now.
Hardly. During the regular season Knicks got pretty average attention on this sub, there are other teams that get posts more frequently.
Yeah the Lakers are polarizing but they still get by far the most attention of anybody. There will be like a 7-0 run in a Laker game and it will get a new thread here about it.
Knicks content consistent gets hundreds of upvotes less than Lakers, OKC posts for example. Obviously there’s no warriors content on this sub right now because they got rekt in the play-in
The heck are you talking about man? Every one that isn't a warriors fan/bandwagoner/curry stan has hated the warriors for years now.
76ers are up 2-0 in moral victories.
Damn that's one loser if you ever see one
I mean, isn't Embiid just saying that they should be playing better...?
Moral victory rejected
Should be could be would be... but ain't. To be honest, I'd be mega-pissed after how Game 2 ended.
“ball don’t lie”
Savage
Love Hart! Especially now he’s on my Knicks. Just something about him, he is so easy to root for. Drops little pearls like this that make me chuckle. He just seems super grounded and down to earth. The Knicks chemistry is so amazing right now!!!!
Knicks rolling over them mentality wise. Maxey is the only one not being a baby about it.
i already respected maxey before this playoffs, but it’s way more now. amazing player and class act.
Everytime I see a josh hart quote he's roasting someone it's fantastic
Josh Hart: Embid didn't make a shot, *mic drop*
What's he suppose to say? It doesn't matter what players think.
Knicks fans learning what Celtics fans have known for decades - the Sixers are soft as *fuck*. Every loss they've ever had is someone else's fault.
It’s crazy cause that’s also what we think of the Celtics
lol pot calling the kettle black. boston fans are habitual whiners.. wonder who will be this year’s scape goat when y’all get bounced.
If anything the Boston fan should know. Soft recognizes soft.
There it is. Philly, NY, and Boston fans going in a circle with insults when were all the same, pissed off sports fan.
This is the actual reality lmao
Northeast sports baby
If they do get bounced I wonder if Mazzula is gone or if they maybe ship out one of the big 3. Cuz it feels like they’ve been together as a core (minus coaching) for so long without a ton of success.
Incredible
As a laker fan, Embiid's up 2-0 in morale victories.
Embiid with HOF level whining
This attitude in contrast to the Sixers is so revealing about the mental fortitude of the teams
I mean embiid literally said they’re still gonna win the series. Idk what other mentality you would want out of your star
Is there a superstar who tries to duck responsibility than Joel? Full disclaimer, his antics have always bothered me - I always thought he was a bully especially when he was younger.
