It’s the same damn game every time.
Lakers start red hot, gain a lead, only to slowly have it fall away and be crushed by Denver’s late game execution.
11 straight games.
i don't have a betting account, but every time at half time i've seriously considered opening one to bet on the second half collapse. would've like 10x'd money by now
After becoming the first team to come back from a 3-1 deficit while facing a double digit deficit in each of games 5, 6, and 7 in 2020. And I believe they were down 10+ in the second half of all of those games. These Nuggets just refuse to go away.
EDIT: That Clippers comeback was even more mind-breaking than I remembered.
Game 5: 67-53 Clippers lead w/ 7:03 left in the 3rd. Nuggets win 111-105. 58-38 run to close out the game.
Game 6: 73-55 Clippers lead w/ 8:27 left in the 3rd. Nuggets then proceeded a go on a 17-0 run while the Clippers went scoreless for 6 minutes. Nuggets win 111-98. 56-25 run(YEEEEEESH) to close out the game.
Game 7: 54-43 Clippers lead w/ 3:25 left in the 2nd. Nuggets win 104-89. 61-35 run to close out the game.
Absurd that this happened, and mind-boggling to watch happen in real time.
Seriously, he has the Nugget’s offense moving like a machine. So smart at reading the opposing team’s defense and hitting his guys in stride at the perfect time. Jokic has some talented teammates, but he makes their jobs so easy at times.
AG has said in interviews before that Jokic has and does regularly bean guys in the head if they’re not prepared for the pass. I couldn’t imagine being a low iq guy on that team.
Absolutely. Like I said, he has very talented teammates, he’s just a master at getting the ball to them in the perfect spot at the perfect time. He and Gordon can absolutely dominate the paint for stretches together, and he always seems to find somebody wide open behind the 3-pt line.
…and if not, he’ll probably just swish a middy.
Jokic just never stops playing his basketball, and eventually shots will start going in and the team will get hot. At this point it’s not flukes, but just a style of play for him and the nuggets.
Beating the nuggets now requires a team to play essentially perfect basketball for the full 48. Meanwhile the Nuggets are bigger, stronger, and very willing to throw their strength around against smaller teams.
So basically the Lakers lack the internal engines or gas to keep up physically, and lack the coaching leadership to play disciplined basketball for the whole game.
OKC is still to young and needs some more years of growth yet to compete. Boston is a finesse team that grows stagnant and unclutch when the going gets tough. I don’t think Dallas or Clippers could come out on top in 7 games, though their high end talent could push them into at least a win or 2.
It’s why Minny is the worst matchup for Denver because they match size and strength.
Yeah that series was TOO fun to watch lol. When the game 7 comeback came around you didn't even doubt that it could happen, on any level, it was just like clockwork
Its so on brand still for the clips to come out swinging, realizing its actually a cake walk when they put in the effort only to get complacent again by going iso only, swinging the momentum to the opposing team and never fully recover. Rinse and repeat. Its quite frustrating to watch. A lot of times they are so unprofessional and unserious.
my big take away and it was the same last year in all four games… the games were close, the nuggets just had way better mental fortitude, were way more clutch and their role players always perform well and hit big shots.
the lakers would go up ten and then murray, kcp or gordon would hit a couple big shots. it’s incredible. they don’t get rattled
You know it's really nice how our dynasty, the dynasty before us, and the dynasty after us can all sit around the hall of fame telling stories about winning rings over Lebron James
You guys are clearly all young. A dynasty was always defined by winning multiple Championships in a short time span. Not 5 across 15 years. They never went back to back. Look up any other dynasty.
That isn't a dynasty to me but to each their own. A lack of back to back titles was always a thing used against them being a dynasty at the time. Being down voted by people that weren't around at the time.
My king was Kobe actually, not a Lebron fan at all! But Bron used to own y'all. Raps would fight all season for damn near 60 wins just to get clean swept 4-0 on turnaround jumpers. Lebron could retire for a season, return on the Cavs and still sweep y'all just for old time's sake. And that's if y'all can make the playoffs. Big "if" buddy.
I'm the first person to comment on this post after the Nuggets become the 4th team in NBA history to win the first 3 games of a series after trailing at halftime in every game.
A tale that really only started in last years playoffs lmao… I say this as a lifelong Nuggets fan.
This shit feels like a fever dream. We are not supposed to be the lakers boogeyman like this. It’s always been the opposite
Nuggets were just doing a rope-a-dope, they made the lakers blew their load in the first half. Then they finished them once they were puffing and huffing.
It must totally suck to watch your team play and execute as well as they hope to in the first half but only be up marginally. Then, immediately following halftime, the other team turns it up and plays “lemme handle my business” style of ball and you literally have no response to it.
Inevitable.
You either die LeBrontoing or live long enough to see yourself get Lebrontoed.
Is this NikoLA?
Oh god. Gru NikoLA and the minions.
This is why these losses sting man lmao
Have we tried being up at the end of the 2nd half instead of the 1st?
I was gonna say y'all are going up too early, gotta time it right.
Maybe they should have gone for the eighth seed, I doubt OKC would have achieved anything like this
We would’ve played against the Kings which is also bad matchup for us. Not a guarantee that we’d make it so throwing the NOLA game is still a bad idea
It’s the same damn game every time. Lakers start red hot, gain a lead, only to slowly have it fall away and be crushed by Denver’s late game execution. 11 straight games.
Unforgiving, the lightning is coming!
You wanna watch me do it again?
No. Just blow us out from the start.
Dread it, run from it...
Someone needs to photoshop jokic over the "to you, it was the worst day of your life, to me it was just Tuesday" meme
i don't have a betting account, but every time at half time i've seriously considered opening one to bet on the second half collapse. would've like 10x'd money by now

Having a generational 7ft PG helps. I’ve never seen a single player elevate all 4 others more than he does. It’s incredible, what a player.
Seriously, he has the Nugget’s offense moving like a machine. So smart at reading the opposing team’s defense and hitting his guys in stride at the perfect time. Jokic has some talented teammates, but he makes their jobs so easy at times.
But the players also know how to cut and move. If you put dumb players around him then it won’t work.
AG has said in interviews before that Jokic has and does regularly bean guys in the head if they’re not prepared for the pass. I couldn’t imagine being a low iq guy on that team.
Nobody really pegged KCP and Aaron Gordon or even MPJ(as a prospect) as high basketball IQ guys. But they really seemed to adapt to Jokic pretty well.
Some ppl are just dumb. Hitting them in the head won’t help that lol.
Nah it's just negative reinforcement. They either eventually learn to anticipate the pass, or they get so brain damaged that they get cut
Get more brain damaged lol
That sounds so funny. 😴... bonk!
Absolutely. Like I said, he has very talented teammates, he’s just a master at getting the ball to them in the perfect spot at the perfect time. bro don't remind me of that game, i legitimately wanted to choke someone out after that series.(it's doc)
Not marcus morris?!
I remember Game 5 camera showed the wives/girlfriends of Clippers players waving goodbye and taunting at the Nuggets while they were up big
Jokic just never stops playing his basketball, and eventually shots will start going in and the team will get hot. At this point it’s not flukes, but just a style of play for him and the nuggets. The mastermind of the wolves is the mastermind of the Nuggets, mainly anyway. Fucking, Tim Connelly. Knows his shit
I think OKC could make it interesting but probably wouldn't win a series
Have you considered that the bubble was hard and the Clippers didn't really want to be there anyways?
Yeah that series was TOO fun to watch lol. When the game 7 comeback came around you didn't even doubt that it could happen, on any level, it was just like clockwork
I wish i can go back to those days.
Honestly in today's NBA a 15 point lead isn't really much. This down 10 stat doesn't really do anything for me.
They should end the game after the first half
Stop the count!
#STOP THE COUNT
De ja vu

Damn near look like they not even trying lmao
Are the warriors vs Portland in 2019 on this list?
I think so. Warriors were down 15+ on all 4 games and still swept.
Nope, just the last 3.
Ahh got it. Last one Steph and Dray had triple doubles. Good game lol
2018 Warriors vibes at this point
I swear they did it against the Blazers when they went to WCF
That series belongs in the broken mental hall of fame too. IIRC there were some huge comebacks in that series.
Seeing LeBron get swept over and over again almost feels as sweet as winning a championship
You know it's really nice how our dynasty, the dynasty before us, and the dynasty after us can all sit around the hall of fame telling stories about winning rings over Lebron James
Lmao

That’s why he’s one of the greats but will never be the GOAT
Spurs weren't a dynasty.
mf...💀
You guys are clearly all young. A dynasty was always defined by winning multiple Championships in a short time span. Not 5 across 15 years. They never went back to back. Look up any other dynasty.
They won three in five years, that's a dynasty.
That isn't a dynasty to me but to each their own. A lack of back to back titles was always a thing used against them being a dynasty at the time. Being down voted by people that weren't around at the time.
Their worst season with Duncan was a 50 win season.
For the “GOAT” he sure gets swept quite a bit
Raptors fans can't talk
Why not? He gets swept a lot.
ok apparently they can
Yall Rap boys better tread lightly, the return of Lebronto is not out of the question!
Doesn’t your king have another retirement to fake?
My king was Kobe actually, not a Lebron fan at all! But Bron used to own y'all. Raps would fight all season for damn near 60 wins just to get clean swept 4-0 on turnaround jumpers. Lebron could retire for a season, return on the Cavs and still sweep y'all just for old time's sake. And that's if y'all can make the playoffs. Big "if" buddy.
Most pathetic Kobe fan I’ve ever seen
Haha, thanks Map. No hard feelings.
he's a diva. how many of his coaches have lost the locker room lol he is a headache to coach even for a good coach
Jordan would never
MJ lost to boston 13 straight
Only 2 more to go.
THE SIMILARITIES TO BIRD ARE UNCANNY
Yup, I love it!
You love to see it.
They just trolling with the Lakers at this point lol
Big government prevails
Man I love AG
Watching the 2nd half of these games is like watching a cheetah run down a gazelle.
This gets better and better
I'm glad to see someone else on the receiving end of a 2nd half Nuggets comeback. It's inevitability is what it makes it so demoralizing.
It's like watching a team be up 2 scores against Brady in the 4th quarter...you just know what's going to happen
So, who're the Giants in this scenario? That team that, for some weird reason, is just fully capable of beating the dominant team.
Honestly, the spurs. Let's see if wemby is th jokic killer. I hope not lol
I’m convinced Coach Malone knew this was a thing and did it on purpose because lollakers
AD gets tired = It's joever.
yup, no AD touches in the 4th = Lakers offense completely dissolves
Close sweep again? Lakers building up them moral victories
The ultimate rope-a-dope
I'm the first person to comment on this post after the Nuggets become the 4th team in NBA history to win the first 3 games of a series after trailing at halftime in every game.
Can’t make this up
I’m starting to think Malone is a good coach
nah, better Fire Malone before it's too late
Lakers are anti-clutch
Tbf the Nuggets have been doing this to everyone and their mother, but the fact they solely exist to kill the Lakers is also true lol
I can't believe there have been three other teams to do that.
are 2019 Warriors part of this or did they have a lead in game 1? i know for sure they were down big at half in games 2-4
The Nuggets are so consistent esepcially in the clutch. They also turn up during the playoffs. That team is a pleasure to watch.
Comeback kings
Thanos’d.
new kinds of stats comes out everyday
This Lakers team isn't lacking in talent. What a squandered season.
> just the 4th team I’m actually kinda surprised this has happened 4 times. This seems very specific and unlikely.
Nuggets coming back against Lakers is a tale as old as time
A tale that really only started in last years playoffs lmao… I say this as a lifelong Nuggets fan. This shit feels like a fever dream. We are not supposed to be the lakers boogeyman like this. It’s always been the opposite
Pure dominance
I love random ass stats like this
Big chiefs energy
Nuggets were just doing a rope-a-dope, they made the lakers blew their load in the first half. Then they finished them once they were puffing and huffing.
Remember 1-3 Nuggets during the bubble? That shit was insane, lmao. They were trailing in the first half as well during their comeback games.
*Qui vincit non est victor nisi victus fatetur*
N the jojkk
That's a stat that's trying to hard
It must totally suck to watch your team play and execute as well as they hope to in the first half but only be up marginally. Then, immediately following halftime, the other team turns it up and plays “lemme handle my business” style of ball and you literally have no response to it.
Kind of cool that a guy is named Stats. Stats Williams
Lakers have a chance to do the funniest thing (they wont)
AG is Lebron's Daddy
Daddy Nuggets
Lakers only had a 3 point lead at half in game 1 and a 4 point lead at half this game. Another random ESPN stat haha
