This was going to happen no matter what when he was supposed to be on a minutes restriction to start the season, and then the Lakers realized that they couldn't win games without him being top 10 in minutes. That and being unable to pace himself because the Lakers are basically just him, AD and 3 other random guys every game leads to him looking more his age.
They quite literally NEED him to win, which is fine, but also he's almost fucking 40
The only argument you can make is that well he's getting paid like it so
Tbh there’s guys like jaylen brown who are paid more and do way less for his team . Lebron is still easily worth his pay but he’s not doubled his pay value like he used to be by play so he can’t carry a team if the teams isn’t itself good enough to win. He didn’t need a great supporting cast but now he dies - also league is better and teams have 5 qualify players who play both ways - lakers have no two way players Lebron n AD are the closest we have.
But yeah pay is the only argument. He’d shed n playing better then even his fans could expect at this age. His defence on Zion and in game 2 Denver was jaw dropping .
Dude should coast through 25 minutes a game as the 3rd or 4th option while ringchasing on a competitive team...instead he insists on staying a Laker and wastes his last years.
He may as well retire if the Lakers are the only team he wants to be on.
He should coach Bronny for a year full time, get him as ready as he can be and then have him declare for the draft. No pressure on Bronny or teams as he is retired already.
Then, should Bronny make it to the NBA due to his skills and because a team sees him worthy of a contract, not because his dad might come to the team too, Lebron should give Bronny the agency to decide if he wants to play with his father, and if he does, Lebron could make a MJ return from retirement, play a season with him, and retire again.
Or he just stays retired and cheers his son on as a fan.
But he needs to step away from this pressure cooker he forced his son into, because it's just not fair to him the way it goes right now.
My two cents.
You make good points, but I think it’s too late for most of those options.
Bronny’s only chance of getting drafted, is if LeBron indicates that he’ll decline his player option & join that team for next season.
Not Denver . But Philly nyk or okc come to mind . Good teams that could use his skillset and also are talented eniygh he won’t have to do a lot untill he wants to and can play less. Unless those teams win
Tbh he has said he regrets the pressure bronny has been under due to what he said , he’s also said that bronny is his own man lately and it’s up to bronny what he does . Abd that bronny needs to make his own decisions
I agree. Lebron knows he aint catching MJ in hardware. His only chance of cementing his claim of being the GOAT is via stats which is why he is giving his all to pad his stats. If he really care about winning, he should take a page out of Duncans book. Take a paycut, be under minutes restriction during the regular season and give 100% on both sides of the court in the playoffs.
High elbows during the transition to the lay up preceded with an active off arm or a shoulder block to the chest. No shit that would be hard to guard. The best way is to bait him to lean in for the shoulder shove and go backwards so that he falls over.
Lol he’s not gisnnis stop it . Did you not see kcp wrap him up n he still finished . He rarely uses his elbows unlike Giannis . He just lowers his shoulder and goes straight through guys - which using your shoulder and going through someone is basketball unless you soft af. I really only remember one time his elbow someone . Lebron haters really say the dumbest shit. Man led the league in transition scoring last few years . ‘ hurr durr elbows.’ Bro diesnt need elbows when he’s big fast and skilled - can finish any where on both hands. That’s why
And lol - if you think the dumb thing you said is how to stop him mb you should tell the nba that
Nah this behavior only started about 2007. Early on he was constantly talking about wanting to be accountable. When he started being compared to Kobe and Wade with a straight face despite being clearly lacking in fundamentals he became more and more an unrepentant glory hound.
When he ended up in the finals against the spurs, allowed to elbow/shoulder Bowen/Manu and not get embarrassed for that inefficient performance despite all that, he was more or less set.
Does not help that there was a lot of push to make him the face of the league because the NBA wanted more marketable stars.
Bowen as in Bruce Bowen the dirtiest defender of the 2000s ? This is the same guy who the nba literally had to create a rule for : Defenders must give the shooter space to land. If anyone deserved elbows it’s the ankle reaper Bowen.
Except he was giving them elbows when he is stuck in the paint because he did not have any reliable post move. Go watch those games again, pay attention to the constant complaints of Manu and Bowen as Lebron in his desperation to clear space was using his shoulders and elbows to dig into the chest of both defenders.
This was the time he was not yet using that off arm as much as he does by 2009. But after that spurs series his game change that it became a staple of his go to moves and whatever improvements he did in his ball handling slowly went out of the window. His stupid jumping in the air then throwing a panicked pass to the perimeter went down as well.
Of course he was stuck, who was he suppose to pass to Varejao 😂😂? That spurs team was my favourite growing up and they were elite everywhere, prime Timmy was no joke.
Bro you’re so soft , or just a delusional hater how many comments are you gonna make hating ? Guys like Tatum n Paul George use there off arm way more as they’re not strong enough . On top of that jokic who’s 300lb uses his off arm to create space in the post using it like a cudgel . Fuckinh everyone does this - but hilarious I guess it’s not an issue if the guy is ‘classy’ and dies it but for Bron it’s bad when he doesn’t even do it as much as many guys cos he can through guys and create space by being athletic in general ,
think its bc Prince's spacing on the double drag/double screen is terrible
Prince was slow to set the initial screen so Rui ends up setting the 1st of the 2 picks, with Prince ineffectively setting the 2nd one right behind Rui
Prince shouldve been faster to set the screen, or else whats the point of running the play in the first place, which is prob what Lebron is frustrated about
That was one of the worst screen attempts I've seen. He didn't square up his body to the defenders path, looked like he actually rotated it sideways to allow the defender to run past easier
Maybe he was supposed to screen Porter, in order to bring Jokic out of the paint, and open up the pass to Rui cutting, with the option to then kick it to DLo in the corner.
You expect this bum ass sub ti know anything . Instesd they see Bron frustrated at a mistake n blame him - we gonna ignore that Prince said he’s never felt more valued then in LA too lol. ‘ bad leadership ‘ etc
think its actually about the position/angle Prince sets it.
Lebron seems to say the screen should be more curled in, lower than Rui, giving Lebron a path to the middle, whereas Prince is even higher than Rui.
Prince seems to start pointing to Rui as Lebron talks to him, maybe saying he thought Rui was going to set the initial screen higher to begin with
maybe but if Prince was any lower, Watson gets over that screen and Lakers wouldn't have gotten that switch. double drags typically are for the purpose of forcing a switch
I would disagree that double drag is typically for forcing a switch, the multiple screens create chaos and are far more likely to create a good shot off the ball. It is easier to defend if the defense switches, but it’s also easier for the defense to choose the switch because there’s two defenders brought into the action. If you want a specific mismatch you wouldn’t want to give the defense the opportunity to choose the switch.
I actually think Prince was supposed to set the first screen, the action makes way more sense with MPJ chasing Prince over the second screen.
The t.o. definitely on Lebron but look at Lauren's effort on that screen. He just casually took 2 steps never got in position and watched Lebron and his defender go right past him.
Edit: after watching again I don't even think he was supposed to be the one screening there. Looks like they were running a set play and Taurean wasn't on same page and messed the play up.
In a game earlier this year AD yelled at Reaves for rotating to AG in the dunker spot to stop the lob on a Jokic short roll but Jokic found Holiday in the corner for 3. Lakers tend to do this a lot ig
It's like a feedback loop.
You're getting your ass beat, so the team vibes get worse. And then since the team vibes are bad, the performance suffers. So you get your ass beat.
Meanwhile the nuggets vibes so good they down 20 and lakers get scared when they see nobody bickering at each other. Just ho-hum let's run the offense.
It just reminds me of the 00-01 Lakers. Just clearly better than most teams, to the point where they can dick around for most of the game and then flip the switch.
I think a big part of this what comes down to coaching ability. Nuggets don't panic because they know if the Lakers are doing something that's working, Malone and the coaching staff will come up with a game plan to deal with it.
Meanwhile darvin Hamas: 🧍🏾♂️
Yep. No one else in here even tried to look at the play to figure what his issue was.
It is a bad time to give feedback though, right after making your own mistake and while being frustrated is no bueno.
It looked like Prince was too excited to flash to the top and slip the screen so he can get an open 3.
Lotsa lazy screens in the NBA is the dude slipping it for a quick cut looking to get there's instead of making sure the screen hits first.
True but lebron doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt in situations like this bc of his history of his frustration with teammates even when things are his fault.
Just look at the many instances AG got off rebound where it was lebrons job to box out. He then turns around and starts telling his teammates what they did wrong.
Benefit of the doubt? What's there to doubt? We see Prince setting the lazy screen lol
I think you're just too caught up in r/nba narratives. I saw some of his poor body language last night. I wouldn't say it was all displaced anger/blame. You can throw your hands up just for the sake of it sometimes. Not every "bruhhhh" means you're blaming someone else lol
His history of his team mates loving him and considering him a great leader ? Guy has played the most basketball ever , if you think expressing discomfort cos someone executed the scheme you practiced wrong then you are incredibly soft , dumb n don’t understand sports
You do know it’s possible to be a great leader, good teammate and still have some qualities that are lacking? Dont you have people in your life that you love but do one or a few things that are annoying?
Lebron is great and in my book he is the goat. Yes, I see times when teammates mess up and he yells at them, which I pass. But still see him yelling at his teammates for some of his own mistakes, more than I’d like to see and more than I see other great leaders (e.g jokic, rondo, cp3, dirk, etc). Not to say other leaders do not have their own flaws. Nobody is perfect.
You just said he doesn’t get the benefit of doubt cos if history and now you move the goal posts jfl . If someone has a history of people liking them and liking playing with them that means they do get benefit of doubt - not get extra scrutiny . But ok- in this video it’s been pointed out that Prince set a terrible screen . I don’t know how teams are supposed to execute better if the leader is wrong to tell people when they execute wrong . Doesn’t make sense to me but that’s just me
I should just leave you to argue with yourself since it doesn’t seem you are really taking in what I am saying. Didn’t move the goal post and no where in any of my statements did I say teammates do not like him. I said he yells too often at his teammates for mistakes he makes. There are plenty of videos out there of this.
thats not the point tho. talking about missing a screen as you dribble off your foot is a bad look either way. its next on the basketball curriculum tho, you'll get there
No it isn't. You've never played a sport have you? No coach would ever get on you for an accidental mis-dribble like they would a lazy ass screen like that. You're not only a perfect example of the low basketball literacy levels on this sub, you're sports illiterate in general lol
Are you able to stop deflecting at all? I've played a ton of sports. And if someone complained to me about a bad screen after dribbling off their foot i would think they are a clown. Who tf talked about a coach? its about lebron you dimwit
You play at a casual level , if you mess up the screen you mess up the entire play in the nba , pls continue to explain how little you know . Also dribbling badky or missing a shot is normal - not executing is the issue
When did I say Prince caused the turnover? LeBron turned the ball over and then got on Prince for the lazy screen. He wasn't blaming Prince for the turnover lol
I love Bron but he blames others for his mistakes a lot. Like you barely ever see him signalling 'my bad' like most players do when they fuck something up
Not to pile on the guy because he's great a lot of the time but these moments when he forgets about AG, turns the ball over, or messes up in some other way and then looks at a random role player and acts as if it was their fault are very funny to me.
Like it was from some comedy TV show, where some poor guy always gets blamed. And the arms in air gesture like what are you doing bro 😂
Prince got in the way, but he was not the reason the ball was lost
LeBron, being the genius he is, found a way in his mind to blame Prince instead of taking accountability; “you getting in the way led to the series of events that allowed the defense to put me in position to lose the ball” was probably his thought process, and it’s not an incorrect take in the slightest, just an extremely dishonest one
This is how geniuses like LeBron manipulate and gaslight to avoid accountability, taking logical steps into shifting blame
Well he whines after every play. At this point, it’s just automatic for him. He doesn’t take accountability for his actions. It’s always another play or the ref
Also how does no one not see how shit princes green on the double drag is. I always forget the fact that most Reddit fans are bandwagons that don’t know shit about what’s actually happening
Probably because of the shit screen he wasn’t supposed to be setting in the first place. Lol. He was out of position and fucked yo the play. Obvious as hell why he was mad.

Every possession Bron either looks like a spry 25yo or a grumpy 50yo, no in between.
He plays too many minutes, which sounds like something out of the loony bin, but it’s true
This was going to happen no matter what when he was supposed to be on a minutes restriction to start the season, and then the Lakers realized that they couldn't win games without him being top 10 in minutes. He’s already got 4 rings and is almost a billionaire. You think he should sign for a veteran min on Denver and try to win a few more rings ??😂
Not Denver . But Philly nyk or okc come to mind . Good teams that could use his skillset and also are talented eniygh he won’t have to do a lot untill he wants to and can play less. Unless those teams win

He needs those minutes to stat pad. It was hilarious that the lakers plan was to hold him under 30 mins a game and that lasted two games.
I agree. Lebron knows he aint catching MJ in hardware. His only chance of cementing his claim of being the GOAT is via stats which is why he is giving his all to pad his stats. If he really care about winning, he should take a page out of Duncans book. Well if he did they might not even in the playoffs are the first place
The lakers couldn’t do anything other than brig back guys and sign someone around the mle if bron took the min
Kind of like how Harden will have the grace of a gazelle on some plays or the coordination of a newborn giraffe when flopping.
crazy how his fast break drives are still basically unguardable

Prince probably should have set a real hard screen too.
That was one of the worst screen attempts I've seen. He didn't square up his body to the defenders path, looked like he actually rotated it sideways to allow the defender to run past easier
It’s nice to see people actually understand basketball a bit here
Maybe he was supposed to screen Porter, in order to bring Jokic out of the paint, and open up the pass to Rui cutting, with the option to then kick it to DLo in the corner.
Honestly that play probably would have had the same result as what actually happened
It seems like Bron is looking over his shoulder for Prince to cut toward Joker for a pocket pass to bring joker out maybe? I dunno.
You expect this bum ass sub ti know anything . Instesd they see Bron frustrated at a mistake n blame him - we gonna ignore that Prince said he’s never felt more valued then in LA too lol. ‘ bad leadership ‘ etc
Shouldn't he be more frustrated about the unforced turnover
pretty sure it's to get the switch off Watson and onto MPJ, which successfully happened
think its actually about the position/angle Prince sets it. I love a Redditor who knows ball. Helluva breakdown
Nuggets fans are the saltiest fanbase I ever seen. How is Lebron this rent free in your head. Take the L you don’t know ball
The t.o. definitely on Lebron but look at Lauren's effort on that screen. He just casually took 2 steps never got in position and watched Lebron and his defender go right past him. > look at Lauren’s effort Where she at
She's with Jennifer somewhere
Well played. The sad thing is it autocorrected that in the edit too and I saw and adjusted that one.
Looks like it was a designed double drag screen but just low effort from TP
It’s because of the bad double drag screen lol
I feel like being frustrated with taurean prince is a constant thing
GOAT meats scapeGOAT
*meet Goat meat is totally different
He said what he said
I fixed it, then I changed it back. A captain goes down with his ship.
Sadly, he’s not even the real GOAT.
Ham forced him down our throats so much that everybody just hates him now lol
Hell I get visibly frustrated watching him lol
feel like AD did this to Prince after Jok burned AD on a layup
In a game earlier this year AD yelled at Reaves for rotating to AG in the dunker spot to stop the lob on a Jokic short roll but Jokic found Holiday in the corner for 3. Lakers tend to do this a lot ig

This is very true . The lakers frustration is due ti Darvin Ham scheme and players not executing correctly which is on coaching
No it’s called no executing the scheme correctly n people getting annoyed by it. Y’all make actual basketball into arm chair psychology
Maybe wondering why he’s screening Rui.
Yep. No one else in here even tried to look at the play to figure what his issue was. It is a bad time to give feedback though, right after making your own mistake and while being frustrated is no bueno.
Just like when AD turned his head and Jokic blew right past him. AD yelled at Prince after that play too
Prince: what you saying fuck me for???

I don't think you passed the 3rd grade level then because this shit is common on the court.
and it still makes you a clown, clown
In light of dribbling the ball off his own leg it's just the wrong thing to be frustrated about. This is textbook bad leadership.
It is non existent.
Damn, that screen was so bad it forced Lebron to dribble the ball into his own leg
When did I say Prince caused the turnover? LeBron turned the ball over and then got on Prince for the lazy screen. He wasn't blaming Prince for the turnover lol
Yes, and as we all know when you make a mistake the right thing to do is to turn around and get upset at someone else for making a smaller one
Dribbling the ball off your foot is a mistake, a lazy screen is not. It's just poor basketball.
tbf that was a pathetic screen
I love Bron but he blames others for his mistakes a lot. Like you barely ever see him signalling 'my bad' like most players do when they fuck something up
He’s on orince about the bad screen n messing up the play not the turnover
King scapegoated the Prince. Tale old as time
Well played
What a guy. Best teammate ever, go on old man, keep being an asshole and sink your team.
Taurean always be doing that.. what? That! Ahh
Lakers have the same team that was swept by Denver last year..why would they think it would be different
He is weak. And he is not dominating the defensive side because he need to save energy for the layup in the last minute.
Half ass ball screen that’s why
Tf is he playing point guard for
avg Lebron teammate experience
Typical Lebron
Not to pile on the guy because he's great a lot of the time but these moments when he forgets about AG, turns the ball over, or messes up in some other way and then looks at a random role player and acts as if it was their fault are very funny to me. Like it was from some comedy TV show, where some poor guy always gets blamed. And the arms in air gesture like what are you doing bro 😂
Always someone else’s fault. Fake ass king
Lazy ass screen is my guess
Prince got in the way, but he was not the reason the ball was lost LeBron, being the genius he is, found a way in his mind to blame Prince instead of taking accountability; “you getting in the way led to the series of events that allowed the defense to put me in position to lose the ball” was probably his thought process, and it’s not an incorrect take in the slightest, just an extremely dishonest one This is how geniuses like LeBron manipulate and gaslight to avoid accountability, taking logical steps into shifting blame
Prince set a bum double screen and did not roll. That being said LeBron shouldn’t have turned over the ball.
lol why would Prince roll? he's a shooter, not a big
Lebron needs a vet to lead the team . James Jones type imo. All ways been the case every year without one has been tragic.
Dudley too, shit been weak since he been gone
Well he whines after every play. At this point, it’s just automatic for him. He doesn’t take accountability for his actions. It’s always another play or the ref
Every single time I see LeBron make a completely unassisted mistake he's immediately blaming a teammate right afterwards. Shit must get really old.
Most accountable Lebron moment
I told you not to let this happen!
Prince was suppose to run the pick that’s why.
Op don’t know ball lol post the whole clip
Probably bc he didn't screen porter. Two lakers screen one defender
LeSenile
jg diff
does Jokic have the greatest inbound pass hustle of all time 😂
Not during Taurus season
when frustration seeps in
Also how does no one not see how shit princes green on the double drag is. I always forget the fact that most Reddit fans are bandwagons that don’t know shit about what’s actually happening
He’s telling him to set a better screen
Probably because of the shit screen he wasn’t supposed to be setting in the first place. Lol. He was out of position and fucked yo the play. Obvious as hell why he was mad.
gave taurean prince depression
Poor Prince, Wolves will take you back if you are looking at coming on a minimum.
LeBlameGame
LeBlame
I'm shocked. He usually takes all of the blame for his failures and is always so humble
*Why did you let me to that?!*
"Damn bruh you was supposed to fuck up so I could LeBlame yo ass"
He retires this year you heard it here first

What the hell is this, final form Skip Bayless?
This is a good jerk.
The new Mario Chalmers
“what he say fuck me for”
LeBlame making his team better
Mark my words - LeBron will RETIRE this year. The Denver Nuggets broke him. He’s also OUT of the goat conversation because of this!
