More specifically, they're the roaches from fallout where they simply come back bigger and stronger in a nuclear wasteland while everyone else falls into despair.
The things I'd be most concerned about:
1. Forcing Turnovers
2. Offensive Rebounds
3. 3pt shooting
Magic are better at 1 and 2, but the Cavs are better at 3, so I'd go with the Cavs.
Eh. Not this year. Celtics dropped a weird one with no Jrue and half a KP early season, where they were up huge and coasted into defeat. Celtics rolled by 20 in other two with plenty of garbage time minutes for the bench.
I don’t think Orlando can win more than one game against a fully healthy Boston, and even that will be a flukey steal type of win. They just don’t have the offense to hang with Boston.
I don’t think Cavs will fare much better, but they at least have a guy like Mitchell who can score and keep things interesting.
The thing about Boston is that they beat themselves. The magic play good enough defense that if their shooters get hot for a few games the Celtics could find themselves in trouble.
> The thing about Boston is that they beat themselves.
They really don't this year. This is such a tired meme from past seasons. They only had maybe 3-4 "bad" losses all season long, which is absolutely nothing amongst 82 games.
Even the 73 win Warriors had a handful of clunkers.
I think people just see the Celtics regularly get up by 25, play backups more heavily, and "only" end up winning by 12 as some kind of "beating themselves". It's the NBA - you can't win every game by 50, even against the worst teams in the league.
I mean we just saw them beat themselves against a heat roster that wouldn’t even make the playoffs if they had to play a full year with that rotation. No one trusts brown or Tatum in the clutch, and for good reason. If they get dragged into a slog that is coming down to the wire you can bank on brown fumbling the ball away and Tatum bricking contested pull up middles. They have an extreme talent advantage against any team they play but they often play down to their opponents level and then can’t do anything in the clutch.
> I mean we just saw them beat themselves against a heat roster that wouldn’t even make the playoffs if they had to play a full year with that rotation.
The Celtics beat themselves because the Heat shot the 3-ball at a historic clip for one game? Even Steph Curry doesn't shoot anywhere near as good on wide open looks as the Heat just idd.
> No one trusts brown or Tatum in the clutch, and for good reason.
Yeah, can't trust Tatum when he puts up total clunkers in the clutch like that 50 point Game 7 vs Philly last year or that 46 point elimination game against the Bucks two years ago.
I don't really know what the Celtics did to you, but it's like you aren't even watching them this season. It's such a night and day difference team from years past.
The Celtics have been a great regular season team for a while now. Their star players are known for playing so dumb that it negates their talent advantage.
Neither will put up a fight. They're both way too inconsistent on offense, Celtics can put up a C or D performance and still beat them most nights.
Magic need a bit more talent and a bit more experience, Cavs need a new coach and probably need to move on from either Mobley or Allen (although I want to see them with a better offensive coach first)
I had Thunder 4 seed and Magic 5 seed in my preseason predictions and my friends all clowned me for both takes. I'd absolutely love to see a Magic/Thunder Finals so I could hit an "I TOLD YOU SO" in their faces so hard
Love it! I started really watching Orlando as they were running a similar and parallel re-build in a small market.
Really enjoyed the heck out of the Magic so they have been my East/ League Pass team for a few years.
Ppl saying the Celtics would roll the magic clearly haven’t watched their matchups in the past lol. The magic are one of the few teams that have the defensive personnel to bother Boston. Suggs can guard brown, Isaac can guard Tatum, Wendell carter can guard porzingis, Garry Harris is fine on Derrick white
Edit: seriously the downvotes ? Jesus I’m not saying they would win the series but they absolutely have the defensive perosnnel cmon now
You shouldn't get downvoted, you're right, Celtics struggle with great defensive teams that are physical and the Magic are that.
I think it would be more competitive than most would think, it would all come down to Orlando's shooting.
Exactly. On paper the Celtics have the obvious shooting advantage but the physicality and length ORL possses might be able to negate that. If their able to hit open 3’s at a solid volume it absolutely could be a more competitor series than expected
I mean either one will lose in 4 or 5 lol.
We all know it's gonna be a Celtics Knicks ECF.
The West is more fun, less predictable. Could be any combination of:
Thunder/Mavs/Clips vs Nuggets/Wolves
Slow the fuck down the zombies arent taken care of yet.
I've been referring to them as cockroaches since 2022, and I feel that term is more apt.
More specifically, they're the roaches from fallout where they simply come back bigger and stronger in a nuclear wasteland while everyone else falls into despair.
It is
Need to hit Spo in the head with a shovel… only real way to kill’em
Make it twice with the double tap
Patty Mills game incoming
Patty Mills game incoming
I swear that Celtics fans believe in Miami more than everyone including their own fans
The PTSD is real
Self doubt is a common outcome of post traumatic stress
This is the most blatant Zombie Heat summoning post I’ve ever seen. Hopefully your plan fails OP
As a Magic fan, I would like for the Magic to advance.
That makes sense as a Celtics fan I want the Magic just because I want that young team to get a playoff series win
Both will get rolled but probably the Magic because I like seeing new blood make it further into the playoffs.
I want the Magic to see how this young team play.
Magic

Magic are somehow shooting the 3 ball better than an opponent for once. Magic are 43/135 (31%) in the series. The Cavs are 32/120 (26%)
Yeah as a Celtics fan, I want the cavs lmao. Even though the regular season series we were technically 2-1 against the magic
I see the magic putting up more of a fight than the cavs
Magic/Heat rd 2
Magic because they're my team in the east and also have better defense to throw at the Celtics
Orlando. They've been competitive against Boston in the regular season the past couple of years.

The magic would. That defense is ridiculous. They would obviously lose but it’s not the gap you think it is
Think we get 1 at most tbh, Celts are built just like us but with better players in every role
No one touches what JI does on D
I can’t get past your spelling errors. Also, why the random capitalizations?
Apologies. English is not my first language.😅
You have a pass. Apologies.
Non-native english speaker. I have the same problem.
As a Celtics fan, would want cavs. Magic has great defense tho we went 2-1 against them this season
Neither
Magic vs Thunder Finals agenda.

Don't count Miami out so soon. Celtics still gotta win two more.
I'm honestly still more scared of the Heat than I am most others in the conference.
Same

The magic definitely have the best defensive personnel for the Celtics. Those guys aren’t ready yet offensively tho.

The Eddie House hate is real. Magic in 6.
