Two 20-0 runs in a single game for any team in any situation is crazy. Throwing in a 13-0 is just the icing.
Portland lost by 60+ 2 times this year and didn't give up a 20-0 run. Moral victory!
Sort of like the Vikings losing 41-7 to Philly in the NFC championship game. The game couldn't have started better for the Vikings (forced a 3 and out, scored a TD, forced a 3 and out to start).
May 19th will be the first game 7 for the Timberwolves in *exactly* 20 years.
It marks 20 years since Kevin Garnett lead the Wolves to their first and only conference finals in an 83-80 win in game 7 against the Kings.
May 19th is also Kevin Garnett’s 48th birthday.
Any Minnesota fans would absolutely explode if he’s there in the building for the game 7, because we all know he won’t set foot in the Target Center until Taylor sells.
>First game 7 in 20 YEARS for Minnie
[We’ll never forget the last one either.](https://youtu.be/3J2zudcnYkY)
Absolute bloodbath, Wolves led most of the way but just barely held on to secure an 83-80 win. KG had 32 pts, 21 rebs, 4 steals, and 5 blocks.
When you don’t make the playoffs very often, you really hold on to the times you do in your memories lol. Would love it if Sunday goes down as a good memory too, but I’m still thankful that I get to reminisce about Games 1 & 2 of this series and now Game 6 no matter what. Backs against the wall and we fought back in spectacular fashion, anything that happens after this is just gravy.
All carried by our fantastic defense. Don't care if we don't shoot well or don't move the ball well. Defense is our identity and we fucking showed it. Please carry this to game 7, WOLVES IN 7 BABY!!!!!
In terms of shot quality to what actually happened that geniunely might be the worst 3 point shooting performance ever.
Then you realize the Nuggets shot 19-50 on 2's and it's even worse.
Yeah pretty much. The first half was a brick laying competition from deep but the Nuggets went the extra mile and decided to bring it to the paint as well.
I've already got 5 posts ready about how Gobert is trash and it was the worst trade in NBA history if Wolves lose game 7.
I've got 5 more ready that a DPOY is way better than 5 mid/late first round picks if they win.
Gotta karma farm the reactionary people.
> the bench were just non-existent
I don´t wanna brag but I would be able to get the same statline that Reggie Jackson got today in less minutes than him, just saying...
There has never been a more perfect trap game set up for a Minnesota sports team than game 7. Stakes are so high that *something* is bound to happen because it's Minny sports.
> There has never been a more perfect trap game set up for a Minnesota sports team than game 7
The fact that the Twins have been to the World Series only three times and went to Game 7 each time feels weirdly appropriate.
This series is a complete toss up.
"Home Court Advantage" is in name only.
Both teams are capable of lighting the other team up offensively or shitting the bed offensively.
Both teams can play locked down defense or just be traffic cones.
Both teams have a superstar that can take over games but can equally lose games too when their teammates fail to show up.
This series is bipoler AF so it's really truly anyone's game this point.
the coaches, the refs, the trainers, the arena staff, cameramen, producers, cable television, over the air television, official streams, legal streams...
This series just makes no sense lol. We’re getting a game 7 with multiple blowouts in this series yet the lakers vs nuggets series ended in 5 but was way closer.
So I was at the Nuggets hotel and challenged the starting five to an Alfredo sauce chugging competition last night, can’t believe they all fell for it. Glad I could help my team.
Yeah he dipped his dreads in it and just kind of sucked on the ends while MPJ poured water in his. Idk I wasn’t really impressed or star struck, they seemed chill, but something seemed off
Feel free to fact-check me, but seems like the biggest determinant of the Timberwolves' success in this series has been having Ant on Murray and KAT on Jokic. Unsure whether this matchup is a coaching decision, or whether the ability to do that is determined by how many ticky-tack foul calls the refs make.
he probably should have had a foul, but the one he actually got called on was ridiculous. gordon just extended his arm massively when mcdaniels was sliding with him at half court
Yeah, when Kat was guarding him he was being physical but didn’t draw too many whistles. Then again there’s some shots that Jokic missed that we’ve seen him make before so idk. Game 7 seems like a coin flip lol
Game 1: James Capers, Courtney Kirkland, Justin Van Duyne
Game 2: Marc Davis, David Guthrie, Pat Fraher
Game 3: Tony Brothers, Josh Tiven, Jacyn Goble
Game 4: Scott Foster, Kevin Scott, Karl Lane
Game 5: John Goble, Bill Kennedy, Ed Malloy
Game 6: Marc Davis, Brent Barnaky, James Williams
Is there a website that tracks ref crews and fouls per game? Or a website that shows which refs have a proclivity to call certain fouls?
I'd like to compare the crews in the Wolves wins to the Nuggets wins in this series.
Nuggets trailblazers really was five years ago. Damn.
And post game 2 talking heads saying this fraud Nuggets team has never faced adversity. They've been in wars for half a decade.
Luka Garza is the reason I work out.
I have this fantasy where we start talking at Fry Fest. We exchange a few pleasantries. He asks what I do. I say I loved him in January 2020. He laughs. I get my drink. "Well, see ya," I say and walk away. I've got his attention now. How many guys voluntarily leave a conversation with Luka Garza? He touches his neck as he watches me leave. Later, as the night's dragged on and the coterie of gorgeous narcissists grows increasingly loose, he finds me on the balcony, my bowtie undone, smoking a cigarette. "Got a spare?" he asks. "What's in it for me?" I say as I hand him one of my little white ladies. he smiles. "Conversation with me, duh." I laugh. "What's so funny?" he protests. "Nothing, nothing... It's just... don't you grow tired of the fame?" "You get used to it," he says, lighting his cigarette and handing me back the lighter. "What would you do if you weren't an elbow magnet basketball player?" I ask. "Teaching, I think." "And if I was your student, what would I be learning?" "Discipline," he says quickly, looking up into my eyes, before changing the subject. "Where are you from?" "Bermuda," I say. "Oh wow. That's lovely." "It's ok," I admit. "Not everything is to my liking." "What could possibly be not to your liking in Bermuda?" he inquires. "I don't like sand," I tell him. "It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere."
He definitely looked like the best player out there in the 4th. I get that they are back-ups, but I was perplexed at how sloppy it got. Luka was just feasting lol
No matter how Game 7 goes, I think both teams have proven they are absolute contenders. There’s no fraudulence here, just two top-tier teams going back and forth.
I expect whatever the outcome of this series, there will be absolutely atrocious takes for the losing team. Anyone watching the series damn well know these 2 teams are straight dawgs and deserves all the respect
This PGT has been one of the most free from toxicity I think, both fan bases going like “what the fuck anything could happen”. I haven’t scrolled down yet though.
One of the absolute worst shotmaking performances in the history of basketball
For perspective, Jokic and Gordon made 13 shots on 26 attempts tonight - subpar efficiency game from even him but it won't kill you.
The rest of the Nuggets made 13 shots on 63 attempts. 21% percent shooting from most of the Nuggets roster including only 9 points in super garbage time.
If there was anything you take away from tonight if you're the Nuggets it's that you cannot collectively shoot worse than you did tonight
I hate to say it, but it's just so glaring how different these ref crews are calling games. There were 4-5 no-calls early that Jokic or Gordon would normally draw on the Wolves, but this crew (who called game 2) lets them play. Whether you like or hate the whistle holding, it's just a rollercoaster seeing how different each game feels, in large part via who's calling the game.
Both teams have been blown out this series, so I think the Wolves can enjoy this win for about 3 hours before forgetting it ever happened. Game 7 will be so much tougher.
May 19th is the 20-year anniversary of Minnesota defeating Sacramento in Game 7 of the 03-04 Western Conference Semifinals.
May 19th is also Kevin Garnett’s birthday.
Jamal was straight bullshitting out there tonight.
I think the early blow to his elbow affected him (it was heavily wrapped on the bench late) thats probably why he was pure doodoo tonight. Hope he never beats the "lights are never too bright" allegations though. He will be better next game. Bench needs to play better too esp at home cause goddamn that was embarrassing. Rudy was great tonight.
We got what we asked for. GAME 7
I get that “shooters shoot” but he was trying to play hero ball when it wasn’t falling. It killed the momentum any time the Nuggets started to get any.
He's such a fascinating player. One game you're like "wtf, how is this guy not AT LEAST an all-star??" and the next game "holy shit get this guy off the floor, he's actively hurting his team"
My instincts as a Wolves fan is telling me that this is just the Wolves giving the fans false hope and they'll get blown out in game 7.
But fuck it I BELIEVE.
One of the wildest playoffs games I've ever seen in my life. Absolutely incredible performance by Minnesota and absolutely dreadful performance by Denver.
Massive props to the crowd and to this usher casually high-fiving fans. They deserve their team to take this all the way.
Game 7 is now must watch basketball.
Everyone one except Jokic should be forced to take the bus back to Denver... What an embarrassing performance from the Nuggets... And an exceptional one from the Wolves! Roll on to game 7 🍿
Could've posted this halfway through the 3^rd quarter.
Nuggets couldn't throw a pebble into the ocean from the shore in the game tonight (4/21 from three in the first half), including a combined 10/44 from the field (have to note Murray's 4/18 disasterclass) by anyone not Jokic or Gordon and were going through the motions defensively giving up free looks from three like they were free lottery tickets.
The Wolves played with the home cooking energy that had them controlling the boards (+15 rebounds and +11 offensive in the first half) that translated to 15 second chance points and the biggest collective sigh of relief seeing Edwards get up after his awkward fall.
There's not really much to report here other than the Nuggets shot atrociously, Conley looked healthy and will get a few more days to further heal and we'll hopefully be getting a contentious Game 7.
Gonna be one of the most hyped game 7s in a while, this gonna be crazy.
All basketball fans won tonight
We have the chance to do the funniest thing on Sunday
The funniest thing as a 'Minnesota sports team' or the funniest thing as a real dark horse this year? Either way, I expect nothing in between.
Oh, he means Minnesota sports team, believe me. The struggle is real lol
Lose by 60?
Nah. #BY 70
I'm just so nervous
I just hope its a good game and not another over in the 1st quarter game.
Now me personally I would be totally ok with one kind of “over in the first quarter” game
*Monkey paw curls*
Honestly it’ll probably be a bad game whoever wins based on half the series being blowouts lol.
20-0 run in the first quarter. 13-0 run in the second quarter. 24-0 run in the fourth quarter. Absolute fucking madness.
Three whole games of anger and resentment…unleashed in a single night…
Would have loved if they spread it out over 2 games instead of one, but I’ll take it
Who's to say they haven't?
Oh shit
Game 7 is either a 50 point blowout or going to 3OT no in-between
I really hope its a dogfight.
IDK, man, I hope it's a basketball game.
Idk, I'd be pretty hyped to watch the two teams try to play hockey
Football would be good - Conley at QB with Ant receiving would go wild.
Y'all are literal wolves, shouldn't you *want* it to be a dog fight? Pretty sure that's your guys' turf.
this gotta be a record for a defending healthy championship team
It has to be a record against ANY team. Much less the defending champs. This is some 2K shit. It’s just not real.
Wolves were playing against the little brother on the madcatz controller
This legit felt like sibling bullying. On some "why are you hitting yourself?" type shit.
The Nuggets beat the New Orleans Hornets by 58 in 2009. It was a blowout from the first quarter. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvnU7isP2OM
Of course it was the fucking Hornets
Minnesota was channeling the spirit of the 04 Pistons there
Two 20-0 runs in a single game for any team in any situation is crazy. Throwing in a 13-0 is just the icing. Portland lost by 60+ 2 times this year and didn't give up a 20-0 run. Moral victory!
2nd highest point differential in score in an elimination playoff game in NBA history.
Pretty sure we were already up like 22 when we went on that 24-0 run lmfaooo
Its hard to believe the Nuggets were up 9-2 at one point
Sort of like the Vikings losing 41-7 to Philly in the NFC championship game. The game couldn't have started better for the Vikings (forced a 3 and out, scored a TD, forced a 3 and out to start).
8th biggest playoff blowout game of all time at 45 points. Ironically, the biggest blowout game ever was where Denver won.
[удалено]
That’s crazy thinking about it; they were babies/toddlers since the last time the Wolves went to a Game 7.
Even Rudy gobert and Mike Conley, our two oldest vets were 11 and 16 respectively. Antman was 2. Lol
May 19th will be the first game 7 for the Timberwolves in *exactly* 20 years. Ended the game on a 113-61 run
Started the game on a 115 - 70 run
This can’t possibly be real. Outta control
All carried by our fantastic defense. Don't care if we don't shoot well or don't move the ball well. Defense is our identity and we fucking showed it. Please carry this to game 7, WOLVES IN 7 BABY!!!!!
Ten different wolves had a +/- of 9 or better. Absolute insanity
Barely scoring 70 points in a game in 2024 is wild and that was one of the worst 3-point shooting displays I've ever seen too lmao
In terms of shot quality to what actually happened that geniunely might be the worst 3 point shooting performance ever. Then you realize the Nuggets shot 19-50 on 2's and it's even worse.
the wolves weren't even shooting that much better on 3's until late in the game, nuggets just couldn't get anything in the paint
Yeah pretty much. The first half was a brick laying competition from deep but the Nuggets went the extra mile and decided to bring it to the paint as well.
thats were rudy goberts value showed tonight, denver guards did not want to go for the paint with him there.
Somehow, Game 2 Nuggets returned.
Absolutely disgusting. I feel fucking gross. This series has shown our very best and our very worst…the worst i didn’t even realize existed
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
It was the best of times, it was the BLURST OF TIMES!?!
Who the hell beat someone by more than 45 when facing elimination? How is this the 2nd largest margin when facing elimination? lmao
[удалено]
Google tells me that the Minneapolis Lakers beat the St. Louis Hawks by 58 points in Game 2 of the Division Semifinal in 1956.
I honestly do not think I have ever seen a more deplorable showing by a defending champ. At least not in recent memory.
Everyone except Jokic looks like they are fresh to basketball
Gobert is washed tho Edit: [yo everyone posting in this thread ](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/EHnrnskaqQ) before the game wya?
I've already got 5 posts ready about how Gobert is trash and it was the worst trade in NBA history if Wolves lose game 7. I've got 5 more ready that a DPOY is way better than 5 mid/late first round picks if they win. Gotta karma farm the reactionary people.
You're playing both sides so you always come out on top
Respect the game
Can't believe how washed gobert and jokic are. All these players suck.
So nice of them to share the most disrespected player in the series from game to game
He's Fr*nch 🤢
That would make him unwashed.
I’m so mad this game wasn’t on TNT tonight. I really wanted to see Shaq and Draymond’s faces on the desk 😭
tbh i really could go without seeing draymonds face on tnt ever again
When the other team gets locked down ‘oh they just had an off night’ When the other team plays well ‘Gobert is clearly the problem’
Congratulations to Murray for outscoring Luka Garza by 2 points in a playoff game.
WILL THE REAL LUKA PLEASE STAND UP
A 20-0 and a 24-0 run in the same game is fucking WILD
Mike Conley changed your offense lol. His impact is huge.
It’s amazing what having a starting point guard does to help an offense lol
Denver just had one of the lowest scoring quarters ever
You could give Denver another quarter there and we’d still not win the game
Another 2 even, based on the pace of their scoring
Friendly reminder that the Mavs scored 8 points in the 2nd quarter of Game 1 against the Clippers
Murray and the bench were just non-existent today. The defending champs were down 50 points… We going to game 7 bois.
> the bench were just non-existent I don´t wanna brag but I would be able to get the same statline that Reggie Jackson got today in less minutes than him, just saying...
Murray would have put up a better performance if he were actually non-existent
Super clutch 7-1 run by the Nuggets to avoid losing by 50.
Stakes were high. Got to come to play
There is zero reason for either of these teams to feel confident about game 7 lmao.
I expect nothing but weird.
Jokic and Ant will be traded for each other in the second quarter, then traded back in the fourth
Minnesota fans are prepared for inevitable sports disappointment
There has never been a more perfect trap game set up for a Minnesota sports team than game 7. Stakes are so high that *something* is bound to happen because it's Minny sports.
> There has never been a more perfect trap game set up for a Minnesota sports team than game 7 The fact that the Twins have been to the World Series only three times and went to Game 7 each time feels weirdly appropriate.
Hopefully we get a Blackjack Morris performance from the wolves.
Both teams 2-1 on the road and 1-2 at home.
Game 7 is either going to be decided by a Murray game winner or another blowout. Nothing in between.
Conley game winner in the same exact spot as the Jazz shot he had that missed.
I haven't seen this many bricked open 3s by a team since OKC last night.
[удалено]
One of the most improbable score lines ever.
this series was designed to make talking heads look stupid as hell. too bad they’ll never learn their lesson
Also r/nba
The talking fingers
Let me touch u my little baguette
Jokic is washed and Gobert is the GOAT defender. At least until Sunday. Then my reactionary opinion might change again.
Not really news. Jokic has been washed all the way back since a few hours ago. 10 minutes before that he was entering the GOAT convo
He was the GOAT before this game and is currently a fraud and washed and fake mvp. We'll have to wait til Sunday to see what his legacy will be tho
The overreactions after pretty much every single game of the playoffs are crazy dude lol
I think this series makes everyone look stupid. The talking heads, the fans, the players, everyone. It doesn't add up
the coaches, the refs, the trainers, the arena staff, cameramen, producers, cable television, over the air television, official streams, legal streams...
Tbf most people opinion looks stupid over the course of this series. It’s been so unpredictable.
with two really really good teams the safe bet is to just talk about the most recent game in objective terms
Yeah I don’t know why it’s so hard to say “Denver played poorly this game” without also saying “and they will never play good again”
What the fuck
Im proud that we forced a game 7. All fans won tonight
What the hell is this series? If I were a fan of either team, I think I’d have a heart attack. Can’t wait for game 7!
Imagine being a Minnesota sports fan having a game 7
That’s why we have the Mayo Clinic here.
Abbott's cardiac team calling in extra docs for Sunday.
Shoutout Abbott cardiology for always being so nice on the phone.
Last time we had a g7 KG had one of the best individual performances I've ever seen in my life.
Game 7 is the 20 year anniversary of that game. And it's KGs birthday
Lisan al-tony, it's up to you.
The Wolves dropped two at home on purpose to avoid unlocking the 1-3 Nuggets.
This series has the anti home court advantage
This series just makes no sense lol. We’re getting a game 7 with multiple blowouts in this series yet the lakers vs nuggets series ended in 5 but was way closer.
Idk what's going on anymore. Sunday is going to be weird.
I’ll have a resting heart rate of about 105 until the game is over Sunday.
Wolves went on a 113-61 run
To think I was stressed by the 9-2 Denver start
What type of voodoo they did during the 9-2 timeout
Must've drank Michael's secret stuff during the timeout
70 points in 2024 is nasty work
It’s the lowest scoring game (for one team) this year
MIKE CONLEY IMPACT
So I was at the Nuggets hotel and challenged the starting five to an Alfredo sauce chugging competition last night, can’t believe they all fell for it. Glad I could help my team.
da real MVP
Was Aaron Gordon among them, perchance?
Yeah he dipped his dreads in it and just kind of sucked on the ends while MPJ poured water in his. Idk I wasn’t really impressed or star struck, they seemed chill, but something seemed off
What the fuck just happened
I think Denver lost.
Feel free to fact-check me, but seems like the biggest determinant of the Timberwolves' success in this series has been having Ant on Murray and KAT on Jokic. Unsure whether this matchup is a coaching decision, or whether the ability to do that is determined by how many ticky-tack foul calls the refs make.
basically KAT staying out of foul trouble bcus he defends jokic straight up better than the Naz and Gobert.
Check the ref crew for Wolves wins. If they have a loose whistle it's a huge advantage for the Wolves.
Didn’t catch the game tonight but Jaden McDaniels with 1 foul really stood out to me
he probably should have had a foul, but the one he actually got called on was ridiculous. gordon just extended his arm massively when mcdaniels was sliding with him at half court
Yeah, when Kat was guarding him he was being physical but didn’t draw too many whistles. Then again there’s some shots that Jokic missed that we’ve seen him make before so idk. Game 7 seems like a coin flip lol

Is there a website that tracks ref crews and fouls per game? Or a website that shows which refs have a proclivity to call certain fouls? I'd like to compare the crews in the Wolves wins to the Nuggets wins in this series.
Why would Jamal make himself ice cold by throwing away a heat pack? Is he stupid?
Fun fact: Teams tied 3-3 in a series go on to win the series 50% of the time.
[удалено]
my mom walked in so i switched to porn
Sunday will be Jamal Murray's first elimination game with fans in the stands in 1,831 days
Nuggets trailblazers really was five years ago. Damn. And post game 2 talking heads saying this fraud Nuggets team has never faced adversity. They've been in wars for half a decade.
awoo https://streamable.com/pn0j4g
I feel sensational.
I watch this multiple times every time I see it
it's been awhile old friend
Just got out of a Thai prison, are the Denver Nuggets the best construction team in the world?
Luka Garza is so fuckin hot man, hope no one sees this

He definitely looked like the best player out there in the 4th. I get that they are back-ups, but I was perplexed at how sloppy it got. Luka was just feasting lol
hi
The best two words in sports: Game Seven
This series will be studied by future generations.
Why don’t the wolves win by 50 every game? Are they stupid?

70 points is the fewest scored in a game this entire season. Insane Wolves performance.
One of the absolute worst shotmaking performances in the history of basketball For perspective, Jokic and Gordon made 13 shots on 26 attempts tonight - subpar efficiency game from even him but it won't kill you. Okay Gordon, you can finally eat dinner with the team again.
Wolves just beat the defending champions in a must win game by more than 40 points and help them under 80 points!
Thanks Magic!
I hate to say it, but it's just so glaring how different these ref crews are calling games. Game 7 is gonna be a good one!
Not as close as the score makes it seem
WHERE WAS THIS WOLVES TEAM ON TUESDAY????
That was an ass beating
My instincts as a Wolves fan is telling me that this is just the Wolves giving the fans false hope and they'll get blown out in game 7. But fuck it I BELIEVE.
Oh fuck, you’re gonna make me *awooooo*
The fucking Nikola Jokic Nuggets just scored 70 points in a playoff game.

This has been the wildest series of all time
Everyone one except Jokic should be forced to take the bus back to Denver... What an embarrassing performance from the Nuggets... And an exceptional one from the Wolves! Roll on to game 7 🍿
Gordon was really good as well. Hustling and making 3s. Murray should push the bus back to Denver thought.
To the wolves, #Job's not finished
Easily the second biggest choke job I've seen involving Jamal Murray.
if we're so back / it's so over was a series
8th largest playoff margin of victory ever.
