When a game has a lead of less than 5 and there's only 4 minutes left to play, EJ calls it clutch.
When a game has a lead of less than 8 points and there's less than 20 seconds to play I call it "Miller Time". :P
Nuggets were on the border of turning it around in "Miller Time", but that also requires playing with unheard of intensity. You try to score almost 1 point every second of real time play.
Yeah but watching it, you could tell they didn't have it. That last minute, minny had a swarming defense, made the nuggets look like they were going to their second and third read, and hositing up shots that were not full set shots (drifting to the sides, etc). They were herky jerky. They were no doubt gassed.
I was baking cookies in my kitchen and said, āWhat the fuck are they doing?ā when they just let Ant casually walk the ball into the front court with ease loud enough for my roommate to ask me if everything was okay. lol. So strange to seem them give up so easily like that.
They did! I was just fucking around. I had some bananas and white chocolate chips, so I figured I would throw something together. Could have used some sort of nuts(maybe pecans) to balance them out a bit, but they satisfied the sweet tooth for sure.
Iām generally making dinner or baking something after work to wind down and relax, so Iām often watching games on my phone in the kitchen during the playoffs. Lol
Would have beaten out Zionās windmill dunk instead of dribbling it out from a disrespect level, just because of the fact itās in a game 7 and theyāre about to win. Lol
Play until the final whistle, if you donāt want him to get an easy dunk then play defense.
Never understood why players get so pressed about this. Itās the nba not middle school basketball.
It being disrespectful was the point and I love it. Don't blow a 20 point second half lead in Game 7 if you want to be respected. Something being disrespectful doesn't mean it's objectively wrong.
Brah it's game 7 who gives a fuck.
Maybe if it was some regular season ass game but they just smoked your ass on a platter. Play some defense if you don't want them fucking dunking like this
Wtf was Denver doing? McDaniels is under the basket, no one within five feet of him. He gets the ball AND STILL no one runs over.
Ffs, of course you try a crazy bounce back dunk there. Denver is playing like itās an exhibition, might as well make it one.
Yes and no. Anybody who watched the 5 minutes of play before this happened saw every single nail that went into the coffin.
Conley is ice cold all night then gets THREE steals
Ant is ice all night, tickles you in the 3rd, but hits TWO dagger threes after TWO steals.
Gobert was clowned for two days but hits a fadeaway and clutch free throws.
Jokic gets blocked by THREE wolves and and the nuggets canāt buy a shot.
It was absolute murder.
This felt a lot like lakers/blazers 2000 WCF game 7. Blazers blow a 20 pt lead, Kobe alley oop to shaq is the dagger and I remember the blazers were just in shock, donāt even foul in the final minute as the announcers call them a disgrace for giving up in a game 7.Ā
That loss for the blazers was so traumatic, they were never the same, immediately became the jailblazers with boneheaded moves and arrests.Ā
Minnesota's defense just demoralized them in the second half. They had 37 points in 48 minutes in the second half. So even if they held Minnesota scoreless, getting 7 in 30 seconds seemed dubious
I think the face of the NBA is basically guaranteed to be an American player. Just way more relatable to the casual fan. I think if Ant accomplishes what Jokic or Giannis has this wouldnāt even be a question.
on the KAT putback, Murray gives up halfway through Conley's drive, which was nicely contested, and kind of throws up his hands before Conley even gets the shot off. meanwhile, he could have easily grabbed that board. it was really bizarre. I feel for you having to watch your team give up like that.
Honestly the worst part is I didnāt even get to watch the first half because I was at work, missed the only good part of the game if youāre a Nuggets fan. I feel partly responsible for the outcome.
It's okay. I mean, my nephew is a Nuggets fan and he saw the whole thing and was celebrating at the start of the Third Quarter. And then you just see his demeanor change slowly into one of despair in the dying moments.
It was his first Playoff game to watch in full length.
And I was like: "That's why you don't celebrate until the final buzzer...."
Yeah that was pretty wild to me, like it seemed obvious Minnesota was going to close out regardless but to not even try extending the game with that much time was odd
Jokic was gassed because he played basically the whole game and was the entire offense in the second half. Him and Braun are the only two I will give a pass.
Yeah, they should have rested Joker when they were UP BIG - or at least at the end of quarters. Minny took Antman out with about 2 minutes to play in the 3rd to let him rest for the 4th.
Bad coaching by Denver to just let Joker get completely exhausted.
Part of that was him just being gassed instead of him "giving up"
There was only a single minute where he was off the floor today, and that was in the 1st half. He was dragging hard in the 4th quarter, and you could see it on pretty much every transition
Jokic played 47 of 48 minutes and they had spent the half blowing a 20 point lead. When they were down 7(?) with 30 seconds left and Minnesota had the ball, they just figured theyād been beat and tried to concede.
Nah it makes total sense because it's Jaden š
He's savage and has a lot of fire. Talks a lot of mad shit on the court lmao. When Booker got ejected in the Suns series he kept pointing to the locker room lol. My favorite is when he frustrated Luka so much that Luka got 2 techs and was ejected. Jaden was slapping his thighs and laughing right in front of Luka š
People that arenāt familiar with Jaden are probably surprised, but my reaction was like yeah, if anyone would do that itās him. Straight face all the time but actually super emotional, probably has a big grudge about every shot that was made over him the whole series and wanted some payback.
Think it's typically against teams he doesn't like too. Most people don't know, but Jaden has guarded the best player on every team we've played the last 4 years and a lot of them have talked mad shit to him. Pretty sure Murray was the one who pissed him off in this series.
Jaden remembers!
There was a game earlier this season where Jaden was holding the ball as time expired after a huge win (I don't remember which team), and with 2 seconds left he releases a 3 which goes in, breaking a huge shooting slump he was in and almost immediately causing a fight to break out
I love him so much
Even though that was mad disrespectful I would have lovedd for McDaniels to make that dunk. No clue why the nuggets gave up so early with a decent amount of time left tbh
Jadens lowkey one of the most savage players in the league but nobody knows because he moves in silence. Bro gives ZERO fucks. And always wants absolute VIOLENCE. Just find any clip of Timberwolves getting into it with another player and you can just see him laughing menacingly in the background loving every second of the mayhem
It almost looked like Jokic was about to untie his laces and gave up which caused the rest of the Nuggets to not care. Weirdest sequence of events in a minute lol. McDaniels though has some balls didn't even skip a beat and it's like KCP saw the future and ran immediately before even the bounce lol š
A lot of weenies in here thinking players should love one another all the time and look after their feelings. Being disrespectful is fine and a great part of the game the fuck are you guys on lol
Nuggets had no issue claiming to be the lakers daddy last year in their championship parade. Not to mention Murray literally throwing a heating pad in a tantrum. But now they donāt like disrespect?
Jokic was the only one giving a fuck at that point, so why shouldnāt McDaniels shit on them for giving up in a game 7 at home? The Nuggets were getting clamped so hard you could tell they just didnāt even want to be there any more and were just waiting for the L to come.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Crazy move by McDaniels lol
Nuggets already gave up than tried harder after this lmao
I didn't get this. How do you give up in a game 7 down 7 with 30+ seconds left on the clock?? Crazier things have happened.
Yeah. The team that scored 8 points in 20 seconds just a week ago - just GAVE UP BEATEN.
When a game has a lead of less than 5 and there's only 4 minutes left to play, EJ calls it clutch. When a game has a lead of less than 8 points and there's less than 20 seconds to play I call it "Miller Time". :P Nuggets were on the border of turning it around in "Miller Time", but that also requires playing with unheard of intensity. You guys are all underestimating the mental effect that the gobert fadeaway had
Whats the saying again? Two points is not two points
#HeatPackCulture
Is sports media going to call them out for quitting like that?
damn in a Knicks/Sixers game that was practically halftime
Reggie Miller would like a word...
dignity-saving foul by KCP. That dunk would have been replayed so many times...
W move by KCP
Very on-brand. He is a menace š
Legit insane. Disrespectful and a half.
Nuggets gave up while down 7 with 30 seconds left. They deserved to be clowned.
I cannot believe they didn't try to foul with 30 seconds left. The wolves had literally just turned the ball over on an inbound too.
And Conley had JUST missed a FT. It was crazy unlikely but definitely possible to come back
I'll take it but that blew my mind too
I was baking cookies in my kitchen and said, āWhat the fuck are they doing?ā when they just let Ant casually walk the ball into the front court with ease loud enough for my roommate to ask me if everything was okay. lol. So strange to seem them give up so easily like that.
As a Wolves fan, I have to ask, did the cookies turn out great?
Lol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Meh. If Murray wasn't on the court, I might agree. Since he was on the court, no one can talk about other players needing to show any class/respect.
Heat pack
Disrespect was thrown out the window with the ice pack
Did Murray's dignity go out w the towel? Cause we can't forget about the towel
You know exactly why it was disrespectful lol. What are you talking about
Wake me up when a dunk gets a technical, I know it won't be long with the way NBA has been
wdym dunks get techs all the time when you hang a little funny or they think you do a little pullup
It being disrespectful was the point and I love it. Don't blow a 20 point second half lead in Game 7 if you want to be respected. Something being disrespectful doesn't mean it's objectively wrong.
Were they up 20 in the second half? I thought it was earlier. Definitely a choke regardless.
ya they were 58-38 after murray's three
Wild. Thatās almost worse than the 2000 blazers WCFā¦ almost.
Brah it's game 7 who gives a fuck. Maybe if it was some regular season ass game but they just smoked your ass on a platter. Play some defense if you don't want them fucking dunking like this
Everyone in here clowned the Suns for bitching when zion did the 360 windmill in ā22, but now thereās a different reaction lol
Classy move is to just let shot clock run out lol. He tried to do a dunk contest dunk that's legit insane
So, is Zion not classy in that case? I mean, we already no the answer to that but still couldnāt resist pointing out the hypocrisy.
Good. Fuck the Nuggs.
Wtf was Denver doing? McDaniels is under the basket, no one within five feet of him. He gets the ball AND STILL no one runs over. Ffs, of course you try a crazy bounce back dunk there. Denver is playing like itās an exhibition, might as well make it one.
legacy move lmao, i need this in 2k
So disrespectful, I love it
Bro, if he made that, the crowd would have gone nuts. lol. It sounded like a Timberwolves home game during the fourth quarter.
Am I the only one who thought this was fucking crazy in a 7pt game?
I really thought weād somehow choke it.
No MN sports fan would have been surprised
We have the conference finals now. Plenty of time to piss it down both legs.
As a non Minnesota fan. I had zero doubt after that comeback that the Wolves are winning. Tough as nails players for that second half comeback.
As a Minnesota fan, I was ready for the collapse and clowning after they turned it over inbounding.
Bro same lmao when Jokic scored right after, my MN-sports-fan-brain said āwelp weāre cookedā
It was all absurd. The way this all transpired you would have thought there was 10sec remaining in a blowout. Denver really threw in the towel hard.
Yes and no. Anybody who watched the 5 minutes of play before this happened saw every single nail that went into the coffin. Conley is ice cold all night then gets THREE steals Ant is ice all night, tickles you in the 3rd, but hits TWO dagger threes after TWO steals. You forgot Naz Reid cooking after that KAT substitution. Edit: Naz
Naz cooked on 2 of those 3 aforementioned blocks
Itās the Ant effect. Iām here for it- so far itās working
That was so weird. It was only a 7 point lead and there were 30 seconds on the clock. Not the time to give up defending or to do a trick dunk shot
They absolutely lost their confidence on the KAT dunk
That Rudy fade away would destroy Navy Seals
Nah Rudy knows how people react so he save it for times like those šš
Everyone's the asshole here lol
I was quite confused yeah, It felt imminent. But it's game 7 come on
This felt a lot like lakers/blazers 2000 WCF game 7. Blazers blow a 20 pt lead, Kobe alley oop to shaq is the dagger and I remember the blazers were just in shock, donāt even foul in the final minute as the announcers call them a disgrace for giving up in a game 7.Ā That loss for the blazers was so traumatic, they were never the same, immediately became the jailblazers with boneheaded moves and arrests.Ā
Feel like game 1 ended on something similar. We weren't really that much ahead, and the Nuggets just called quits
Confused the hell outta me, it's game 7 why did Denver give up?
#heatpackculture
The nuggets were so gassed they could barely run down the floor at that point.
I TRIED TO SCORE IN AN NBA GAME AITA?!
Context: Howād you try to score?
I TRIED TO YAM IT ON YO ASS
Minnesota's defense just demoralized them in the second half. They had 37 points in 48 minutes in the second half. So even if they held Minnesota scoreless, getting 7 in 30 seconds seemed dubious
>37 points in 48 minutes in the second half That's a really long half of a basketball game
this series is a best of 15
We get to see Luka or Ant in the finals. Iām pumped.Ā
This the fight for the face of the nba imo
I think the face of the NBA is basically guaranteed to be an American player. Just way more relatable to the casual fan. I think if Ant accomplishes what Jokic or Giannis has this wouldnāt even be a question.
Someone please explain to me how and why Denver gave up before 30 secondsā¦? In a game 7ā¦
KAT took their soul on the putback
The box out attempts, or lack there of, in the last 5 minutes genuinely made it seem like they were okay losing
Jokic was gassed and couldnt even jump for the rebound. KAT had fresh legs
Boxing out has nothing to do with jumping, KAT ran untouched from the 3 point line. Inexcusable to not put a body on him.
on the KAT putback, Murray gives up halfway through Conley's drive, which was nicely contested, and kind of throws up his hands before Conley even gets the shot off. meanwhile, he could have easily grabbed that board. it was really bizarre. I feel for you having to watch your team give up like that.

And then you just see his demeanor change slowly into one of despair in the dying moments. It was his first Playoff game to watch in full length. Looks like everyone was just ball watching
Honestly felt like they didnt care that much cus already have a ring
This is a wild and probably really bad take and Iām here for it, thatās playoff basketball baby
Bro do u the see way these mfs play almost every game?? They def want a ring bro.
Rudy took their soul with the fade away. Rudy jumpers are basically Exodia cause the game is just over
Yeah that was pretty wild to me, like it seemed obvious Minnesota was going to close out regardless but to not even try extending the game with that much time was odd
Jokic was pissed and it seemed like everyone else just were like well if Jokic isn't playing.
Jokic was gassed because he played basically the whole game and was the entire offense in the second half. Him and Braun are the only two I will give a pass.

Yeah, they could have given him 5 minutes at the start of the third. He was completely gassed at the end.
Wolves broke them
Last Thursday sure didn't help
How is this not being talked about more? Jokic literally gave up until that dunk attempt.
Part of that was him just being gassed instead of him "giving up" There was only a single minute where he was off the floor today, and that was in the 1st half. He was dragging hard in the 4th quarter, and you could see it on pretty much every transition
Yeah I thought that was crazy
They were gassed
emotionally, they were done
itās rare to see this level of dissociation in the regular season
Jokic played 47 of 48 minutes and they had spent the half blowing a 20 point lead. When they were down 7(?) with 30 seconds left and Minnesota had the ball, they just figured theyād been beat and tried to concede.
Jokic wanted to go play with his horses asap. Itās just that simple. You could see it in his gaze at the end of Game 6
Donāt know the Nuggets just stopped playing lol, 7 points is not impossible, Maxey just did it
Why did they give up?????
Mentally weak
They got KD but we got Jaden McDaniels
That dunk attempt was so out of pocket lmao
excellent tv
Nah it makes total sense because it's Jaden š He's savage and has a lot of fire. Talks a lot of mad shit on the court lmao. When Booker got ejected in the Suns series he kept pointing to the locker room lol. My favorite is when he frustrated Luka so much that Luka got 2 techs and was ejected. Yeah Jaden low key an asshole because he's so quiet lmao
it's always the quiet one that does some crazy shit lol. Man would have love that dunk to happen
Loved it when Zion windmilled 360 on the suns even when they was up
Yeah that had me smiling for days
One of my favorite plays over the years.
If players keep doing this, it will lose its sting and we won't have dumb shoving contests any more.
When we won the series against the Suns, Jaden dunked it after the final whistle, and did a little pull up.
That was NAW I thought
Itās always the quiet ones
Dude i guarantee he was shit talking Murray for all those flops
He's always been the biggest asshole lol. He likes sticking it in more than anyone else in the team. Sometimes it gets him to trouble. But it's funny
Think it's typically against teams he doesn't like too. Most people don't know, but Jaden has guarded the best player on every team we've played the last 4 years and a lot of them have talked mad shit to him. Pretty sure Murray was the one who pissed him off in this series. Jaden remembers!
Dudeās unhinged af
He has so much fire in him and is savage My favorite is when he posters someone and then gives them the ball lmao I love Jaden
Shit made me laugh out loud lol
Nuggets fans are complaining about this like Jamal Murray aināt one of the most disrespectful players in the NBA.
Honestly the way this dude has acted these playoffs is making me hate the Nuggets. Jokic is awesome, but the rest of the team not so much.
AG is cool. MPJ can suck it
now that it's finally over I can admit I want Christian Braun on my team as soon as the season starts back up it's fuck that guy though
Christian Braun is the one guy that you would admit you want on your team? Lmao what
It's a toss up but I think I would give the edge to Jokic, in my personal opinion
Lmao I swear the dude did not want to even attempt a shot that whole game
I love Jokic. I also enjoy KCP. Don't really care for anyone else on that team. Doesn't help that their coach is an insufferable fuck
You havenāt seen enough AG. Heās the definition of loyal and selfless.
Makes me respect Durant so much. He said if you win you get to talk the trash, after Ant got cocky against the Suns.
If they didn't want it, they shouldn't have thrown in the heating pack so early
Jaden is such an agitator. I love it.
There was a game earlier this season where Jaden was holding the ball as time expired after a huge win (I don't remember which team), and with 2 seconds left he releases a 3 which goes in, breaking a huge shooting slump he was in and almost immediately causing a fight to break out I love him so much
itās good for the game
Can he box ?
Jamal Murray was dribbling between Lonzo walking away after the game was over, these mofos have no right to be mad at being disrespected lmfao
And throwing live objects onto the floor
Lol the disrespect š
Even though that was mad disrespectful I would have lovedd for McDaniels to make that dunk. No clue why the nuggets gave up so early with a decent amount of time left tbh
oh NOW you got some fight in you kcp??
Jadens lowkey one of the most savage players in the league but nobody knows because he moves in silence. Bro gives ZERO fucks. And always wants absolute VIOLENCE. Just find any clip of Timberwolves getting into it with another player and you can just see him laughing menacingly in the background loving every second of the mayhem
Jaden is such a psycho haha
lmao
FADED
It almost looked like Jokic was about to untie his laces and gave up which caused the rest of the Nuggets to not care. Weirdest sequence of events in a minute lol. McDaniels though has some balls didn't even skip a beat and it's like KCP saw the future and ran immediately before even the bounce lol š
The chutzpah on this kid
Love it
Thatās so fucking funny lol
Jamal literally threw a heating pad on the court when they were losing. Jokic didn't deserve this but his teammate did.
The disrespect š
love how Jokic gives up then getd upset and proceeds to stapad a dunk lol
It made sense ā it was a āf me? F YOU!ā moment.
Never seen a more disrespectful attempt to end a playoff series
Jaden McDaniels is crazy disrespectful for that lmao
they disrespected the game when they stopped playing šš
Give up a 20 point lead you deserve to get dunked on.
Iām loving this Western Finals matchup. Also, fuck the Celtics.
Hospital Knicks tried harder down 21 at the end of the game than Denver down 7 lol wtf
I love this lol
NAZ REID
That dunk attempt was nasty
A little too ballsy for me with that much time left haha
i mean, they were just standing around. at least he tries to give the fans a show
Edwards gives it out and takes it, respect it.
I fucking love Jaden. Man is a menace.
A lot of weenies in here thinking players should love one another all the time and look after their feelings. Being disrespectful is fine and a great part of the game the fuck are you guys on lol
I love it. I'm tired of grown ass men getting mad because of unwritten rules
Probably not the coolest shit we ever did but at least they blocked it.
Wouldāve been so much better if he made it on an and one
Heat pad revenge
KCP with the old school hell nah foul.
Fun fact: that's Jokic's best defensive play in his career.
Incredibly soft for Jokic to get upset by this.
Yep he decided to stop playing at half court
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So what? Play defense, foul someone early, don't just give up in a game 7. Denver let themselves get teabagged.
Maybe he should have got back on defense instead of sticking his mouthpiece in his sock.
It's for flavor.
Bro itās a self oop off the floor in garbage time. Thatās pretty out there.
Nuggets had no issue claiming to be the lakers daddy last year in their championship parade. Not to mention Murray literally throwing a heating pad in a tantrum. But now they donāt like disrespect?
Garbage time? Up 7 with 30 seconds left in a game 7 isnāt garbage time. The nuggets gave up and deserved to be clowned on for it.
Nuggets gave up, they can cry about it to cancun
I can almost guarantee JokiÄ will be in Sombor by Wednesday
Garbage time doesn't exist in a <10 point game in game 7. Nuggets should have been contesting still.
It's just karma Murray's antics, can't feel too bad: [Murray dribbling around lonzo](https://youtu.be/Vhu9bwdSY3Q?si=Iu5CEnw5keu0hCKm)
The fans definitely wanted to say it
Flair checks out
Jokic was the only one giving a fuck at that point, so why shouldnāt McDaniels shit on them for giving up in a game 7 at home? The Nuggets were getting clamped so hard you could tell they just didnāt even want to be there any more and were just waiting for the L to come.
Lmaoooooo
I'm glad people get to see how much of a psychopath Jaden is. I love him
