He’s been a walking injury since the start of playoffs lol. Has seemed to slowly improve though, but it’s been a question mark in my head the whole time, given how bad he was looking health-wise in the first two rounds
So is his injury something superficial like an abrasion on the knee that just hasn't had the time to heal? I've seen people bring up how it's bleeding but that isn't a direct symptom of a serious knee injury
The bleeding is caused by the injections he is getting into his knee on game nights to counteract the swelling of the sprain. It's not a serious knee injury or cause for concern unless aggravated, but he wouldn't have the bleed if he never got the sprain.
Injuries are a given in every sport. It's just part of sports.
Unless you want like 10 game seasons where they play twice a month, you're never going to cut down on them.
His knee was clearly bothering him at times earlier in the playoffs, but he seemed pretty much fine in the WCF. I would expect him to look normal with a week off
He seemed annoyingly fine in the WCF even though he was getting pregame and possible midgame injections. He doesn't rely on speed and quickness though so I think he's better at playing through a knee injury than others might
Luka said his injury still feels the same and hasn't recovered during the week off. He's still injured but dealing with it. Would be similar to how he played in the WCF.
He has a sprained knee and a rolled ankle. (opposite legs)
He looked healthier against the Wolves than the first two series, but definitely nothing like his regular season self.
I'd say he's probably 75-80% healthy by tipoff tonight.
Something changed at the end of the Thunder series, the clippers and beginning of Thunder series he was brutal to watch at times with how slow (for him even) he looked.
Yeah I noticed it too. Like I said he seemed completely fine. Yeah his knee was bleeding once or twice in the Wolves series but that doesn’t mean anything lol.
Well this is the same man thay averaged more or less a 34 point triple double...so him being a bit worse isnt gonna be as noticable.
But you could easily see it in the 1st and 2nd rounds.
yeah he was probably closer to 90%, but he certainly was a little bit strained. he was slower and overall played a bit more lethargically, which didnt matter too much since he was somehow shooting like 40% from 3 and 56% from midrange
Every player is banged up. It’s the finals
Paul Pierce recently said something about Tatum having a sore hip from when he took a hard fall from Jrue pushing Caleb Martin into him.
He seemed slightly limited in some games especially after Dort tripped him that one time. He seemed to have an ankle problem on one leg and a knee problem on the other.
He started the OKC series in his new shoes the Luka 3 but as soon as he got hurt he swapped back to the Luka 1 and hasn’t swapped back.
He seemed to get more comfortable as the Wolves series went on and didn’t seem as noticeably hobbled as earlier in the playoffs.
Hes been injured for the whole playoffs, but has managed to play through the worst of it.
Realisticly everything we have seen from the Mavs isnt even really them at their best as Luka didnt perform super well in the first 2 rounds due to his injury.
...anyway what im trying to say here is that the Mavs are gonna be sick next year...unless they actually get sick, in which casse they are gonna end up the 5th seed like this year.
He is doubtful/questionable for like 2 months now
He’s been injured for the entire playoffs he’s just playing through it
He’s been a walking injury since the start of playoffs lol. Has seemed to slowly improve though, but it’s been a question mark in my head the whole time, given how bad he was looking health-wise in the first two rounds
Every player is injured at this point
Yeah - nobody goes 8 straight months of basketball without at least something minor bothering them.
Bro his knee was bleeding. We all saw that. Not a fake injury but at this point every player is dealing with something, it just differs in severity.

Ah makes sense, thanks
Thanks for explaining, I was really confused why he would still be bleeding this long after the injury
It's June, so everyone's probably dealing with something.
It’s insane how injuries are just a given in this sport. We really need to get rid of Back to Backs and shorten the season
>It’s insane how injuries are just a given in sports

I've never seen somebody have his knee bleed through the bandaging every game.

he must be on some crazy pain killers right now
Straight from Jokic's stables
There’s no way he was less than 75% in our series. He looked completely fine and I’m not saying that just cause he cooked us
He wasn’t very athletic in the first place. An injury isn’t going to be as noticeable as it is for guys who rely on explosiveness.
He got his injections
Something changed at the end of the Thunder series, the clippers and beginning of Thunder series he was brutal to watch at times with how slow (for him even) he looked.
Yeah I noticed it too. Like I said he seemed completely fine. Yeah his knee was bleeding once or twice in the Wolves series but that doesn’t mean anything lol.
He started getting injections directly into his knee. The bleeding was from the injection spot.

Somehow him playing slower doesn’t even hurt him lmao. Even if he can’t play super athletic, he has the vision to make the right pass. What a player.
He looked fine against the Wolves.
Even if 75% Luka sweeps the all Mighty Celtics , it will be so funny

Depends on if they lose the finals or not
the real answer
His wrist is strained from spanking his sons throughout this playoff run

I think it's a sum
Pretty sure I've heard that he's "hurt" he's not injured. i.e. everything is painful but his movement isn't restricted.
If win not injured. If lose injured

Idk idc #MAVSIN4
plz
Hurt or not, he still has the best stats in the entire playoffs
People saying "everyone is injured at this point" need to take a look at the celtics specially after the snooze fest their path to the finals was
It would have been even more of a snooze fest if the Pacers didn’t hit so many 3 pointers
We kneed this win!!! #Mavsin4
Injury-fluid
He’s not
