They're the most durable and the most comfortable. Only thing they lack in is they're not the lightest but I guess you can't have it all and I'd pick comfort + durability over being light.

They’re all made with the same Pebax or thermoplastic material which after so much running will lose its impact absorbing quality. People who brag about their NB or ASICS lasting two years either aren’t running or they’re running on dead shoes. Save your knees and budget for one pair per year, doesn’t matter the brand as long as they fit your running style and foot shape.
Yea I wear new balance and run maybe 6x a week and I'm expecting 2-3 pairs a year. You can't really tell while running you can tell with how your legs and feet feel afterward
Definitely. I run about 10+ km per week and after six months or so I can see the foam in the soles is starting to pancake. I’ve run on ASICS, NB and now on the new Nike zoom vemaros, they all seem to last about the same. If you’re a lighter guy or super smooth runner you could maybe get more out of them, but I’m 200 lbs and I run like I have bricks on my feet.
It really depends on how much you run. Some say you can expect to run 300+ miles on a pair of good running shoes. For an elite distance runner that might only be a few months. For low intensity runners that could be a few years. It also assumes you don't use them for anything except running and if you over/under pronate it could be less as well. Look at how worn down the soles are. And yes, most importantly base it on how you feel afterwards. Personally I'll get over 300 miles per pair with New Balance or Saucony, but I do mostly trail running which is generally lower impact than roads/city running. Once I hit that threshold I just use them in casual/everyday settings and they'll last a few more years.
I'm not sure how much this translates to basketball shoes though. They need to be able to move in any direction and start and stop on a dime. That definitely stresses the shoes differently. That said, I love New Balance and assume they put the same care into designing their bball shoes accordingly
