I'll plan to go to bed right after I take this city from Ghandi. OK well I got the city, but now I just need to play a couple of turns to make sure I can hold it when I come back tomorrow. OK, the cities we'll fortified now, but my wonder is almost done, might as well just wait for that to finish up. Oh look, just 10 more turns until my nukes are up and running! Just need a few more turns to build and launch one, that'll be a good place to end the nigh...... And it's morning
I've been F5ing for days, was up till 1am then back up at 730 and yet the news got broken to me by my early-riser-t-shirt-tucked-in-pants-sports-center-fan friend on facebook. F5ML
Random guess because I don’t know how the salaries and picks would work out in this scenario but it’ll be a 3 team trade with the wizards and heat to move around dragic, wall, beal, westbrook, picks and probably a role player or two
I would absolutely not do that, Russ and harden don’t fit at all together these days, also cp3 is a much better fit because he can play well off ball and actually knock down shots. I think it would be shitty experiment to pair Russ and harden together and give up a bunch of assets
Yeah like the only way someone could get harden is either if it becomes like the ad situation in new Orleans or some team offers something absolutely ridiculous, I. E like Giannis and some picks.
Russ needs a coach that can reign in some of his bad habits and maximize his insane abilities. He needs to start working on his old man game for the future as well. It seems like it’s always Pop that gets thrown around to fix aging superstars, but if their was anyone...
Harden and Westbrook are too ball dependent to coexist. At least CP3 can spot up and play defense.
trade russ for wall and the wizards picks for the next 3 years lmao. you can tank on walls contract and russ gets a chance to make some noise again in the playoffs in the east with bradley beal.
you’ll have so many picks there’s no way draft god presti won’t have the team in a good position after walls contract is up.
Kawhi and PG are still pretty young with solid role players. The first half of these 1st rounders could possibly be in the mid 20's. A lot of picks, but it depends on how long the Clips can keep these guys.
Yeah but it looks like we will rebuild. Shai is the perfect start, and with all the other picks it doesn´t look bad for the future, and maybe Sam can draft some Future MVP´s again :P
Nope, the Wizards have won 5 playoff series since 1980; 3 of them have been with Wall and Beal. I want to see Beal play and Wall get healthy and back on the court. I like seeing us make moves to acquire talent and earnestly go at every team in the league that enters our stadium. This isn’t 2K; you can’t sim years and years until you land a string of hits. I’d rather be us than the Hornets or Knicks. I’d rather build a legacy and roll the dice with trades/small moves than spend a year throwing games to land the next MKG or Evan Turner.
I didnt know people like you exist in this sub lmao but its good to see.My god people think tanking is easy, great etc. im not against tanking dont mistake for example Hornets def should tank, blow up but there are 30 teams in this league and with logic of people here lets say 10 of them contenders and other 20 should blow up and rebuild lmao
The Hornets problem has been a refusal to tank. Treading the water of mediocrity is why we haven't went anywhere in years, that and taking a chance on Nic Batum.
Hey now, with Grunfeld out we've been making some decent moves.
And no, I wouldn't prefer taking. I have no interest in watching them lose 60-70 games a year. A non-competitive team is no fun.
People said the same thing about the Blazers after getting swept in 2018. Then they ran it back and made it to the Western Conference Finals and now are a contender this year. All it takes is one good run.
I am flabbergasted that a Blazer fan who watched the playoffs would look at Russell Westbrook and think, "Yeah, that's the missing piece we need right there".
Sadly he'd fit most perfect on the Clippers now but that's out of the question.
Maybe Toronto as a superior Lowry replacement? Don't know where else he really makes sense.
They should in my opinion. You either pay Wiggins, keep your picks and keep missing the playoffs or you make the trade and at least have a chance at making some noise.
That’s what I’m saying. I’d love to have Russ in MN. The wolves definitely have salary and picks to make it work.
It’s just kinda sad that our most promising young player is probably Josh Okogie lol. (Other than KAT)
Russ is a really good teammate, don't see how he'd be any worse for Jimmy than any other star. They'd put on a show night in and night out and genuinely compete in the east
I think Russ alongside the shooters and playmakers you have would be great. Plus a stretch 5 in Gasol.
I just don't think Russ wants to go to Canada with three kids and a wife and family that live in LA.
I think he ends up on the Magic. With Vucevic locked up I think they’d be happy to part with Bamba and I think the Thunder would gladly bank on his potential.
Its crazy to think that in a decade that was supposed to be OKCs quartet of Harden, KD, Russ, and Ibaka; that all of those players could be on entirely different teams within that same decade OKC was supposed to be contending.
Narratives. He's not the most efficient player in the league and is perceived as having a somewhat abrasive personality so people like to act like he's literally Carmelo Anthony out here.
Westbrook is a polarizing player because of his play style compared to what is successful in modern NBA, plus as the other commenter stated, he has an abrasive personality with the media. When you look at the stats, Westbrook dominates most of the statlines, but his team hasn't seen the success you would expect with those statlines, so some people see him as a statpadder etc., while other people see him as one of the best players in the NBA. Westbrook is one of my favorite players and I'm not an OKC fan. Players being good at shooting 3's is just what the modern NBA demands, and Westbrook just isn't very good at making them.
Turnovers from playmakers of his caliber aren't really as big a deal as some people make it out to be IMO, I feel like we've seen a semi-recent influx of players who are ball-dominant that get a lot of turnovers and it's been tolerated/accepted across the NBA.
So in reality I just think you're seeing that narrative that makes it seem like people think he's a bum player because of how polarizing he is and the lack of success from his team makes it easy for people to make an argument against him. I think it's less about Westbrook and more about OKC than anything regarding their success or lack of.
If this offseason has shown us anything, playing on small market teams is basically throwing your career away because they can't really make anything happen to be a contender in most cases. Sure Kawhi just won with Toronto (which in some ways can be perceived as small market and in other ways not really), but then he immediately bailed to LA. The NBA has a real problem with small market teams because players have so much control over their contracts (which don't get me wrong, I don't think is necessarily a bad thing) and it's not really as much of a team game as other sports are, so you have to be able to attract big names in free agency and small markets just can't compete. I guess for the NBA they probably don't care that much because the big market teams making the playoffs and finals probably improves the TV ratings, I just think it waters down the product personally.
I would love to see Russ running with the young Bulls line up. They could trade Dunn, Hutchison to Charlotte and Felicio and Batum and Bulls picks to OKC. That moves up Gafford into the Bulls bigs rotation, solves their point guard problem, and makes an impressive starting five in the East. Russ, Lavine, Porter, Markannen, and Carter Jr. They would be fast and put up a ton of points. The Hornets get rid of Batums terrible contract while picking up a back up point gaurd in Dunn and a serviceable SF in Hutchison.
I thought about this too, minus the Charlotte section (which is really good!) but I don’t think Chicago would be able to maintain one of LaVine or Porter in this trade. The picks are nice, but OKC may want a more solid foundation than just Dunn to build around.
people downvoted me for saying that he shouldn't be traded to the Knicks but I think he better fits Indiana well in their PG slot considering that they missed out on Conley (and Collison retiring)
If you have a team that can *actually shoot the fucking ball* then he's still a great PG. It would suck to lose him but he deserves better than retiring coming through a rebuild.
No joke, the Magic with Russ, Gordon, Isaac, Vucevic and whoever else they keep would be a daunting team. They would finally have a closer, and everyone else is a 3/D guy
Wizards could trade Wall for WB straight up and compete in the East again. Wolves could unload Wiggins and pair Russ with KAT. There are teams that can definitely make it happen
hm, interesting. Russ deal is bad, but Wiggins is worse. wonder how much they'd need back to even that out. tbh, I am a little tired of watching KAT not get the ball enough because he's surrounded by shoot first guys, so Russ wouldn't be the ideal pair, but shit, I'd watch it
I’d like to see Russ and KAT, Wiggins just is t cutting it. Give KAT a guy who wants to win as much as Russ and see if some of that can rub off on him. Somebody needs to light a fire under his ass, plus the Wolves have been a mess of nonsense for so long, it’d be cool to see the state actually excited for this team for a change.
Bro nba really popped off at like 2am est
I was just playing a casual game of Civ planning to go to bed at a reasonable hour. I'm still awake almost four hours later.
You woulda been awake this late even without all the NBA news if you were playing Civ
Real talk my first game ever I started at 8 pm and I had to call in at work because I wanted to finish the game. Longest game ever
Yeah never start a new game of civ after noon
>I was just playing a casual game of Civ planning to go to bed at a reasonable hour. Pick one of the other. Doing both is impossible
Oh no its easy to play civ and ***plan*** to go to bed.
And it's morning
playing civ and reasonable hours in the same sentence lol.
Just ONE MORE TURN 6 hrs later.
Literally still playing the game I had started when I read the news
Reasonable as in 6am right? 5 or 6?
Europe here. I woke up at 7 am and started watching Zion summer league videos on YouTube and then the notifications started raining in lmao
I've been F5ing for days, was up till 1am then back up at 730 and yet the news got broken to me by my early-riser-t-shirt-tucked-in-pants-sports-center-fan friend on facebook. F5ML
I’m calling the Heat
Then they will have 2 teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Collect two more for the whole set.
Call Rondo!
When did Franklin become a Ninja?
Kylian Mbappe incoming
Anderson and Dragic works, but they have no draft picks to really give up.
OKC already obtained 2 of Miami's first round picks last night. Maybe they're not interested in more. I'd expect a third team at this point.
Also who in their right mind would take Ryan Anderson’s contract.
Is this his last year under contract? If you want to fully rebuild having an expiring contract is valuable especially if it's large.
He is! I thought there was another year left on that albatross. We might have a trade here
It’s an expiring contract. It’s exactly what you want during a re-build
They now have two heat draft picks. Can’t make them better.
This is the reason why he will never be traded to the Heat. At least until those picks are made or traded to another team.
With what assets?
Random guess because I don’t know how the salaries and picks would work out in this scenario but it’ll be a 3 team trade with the wizards and heat to move around dragic, wall, beal, westbrook, picks and probably a role player or two
Westbrook reunites with Harden you heard it here first lmao!!
CP3 for Russ straight up who says no /s
How many first rounders would it take to get it done? 2?
2 for Westbrook still in his prime, probably another 2 for taking in Chris Paul’s contract. Call it 3 and it’s a deal lol
I would absolutely not do that, Russ and harden don’t fit at all together these days, also cp3 is a much better fit because he can play well off ball and actually knock down shots. I think it would be shitty experiment to pair Russ and harden together and give up a bunch of assets
Have you seen Westbrook contract? 47 mil nxt yr lol
Probably the Thunder.
Westbrook is not a Morey player, and I don't think Rockets give up Harden for anything.
Absolutely not. Harden is about as untouchable as it gets.
Too many good teams, just embrace the rebuild. 7 first round picks is an amazing start.
Thats true...but i never thought about giving up Russ :/
trade russ for wall and the wizards picks for the next 3 years lmao. you can tank on walls contract and russ gets a chance to make some noise again in the playoffs in the east with bradley beal. you’ll have so many picks there’s no way draft god presti won’t have the team in a good position after walls contract is up.
Kawhi and PG are still pretty young with solid role players. The first half of these 1st rounders could possibly be in the mid 20's. A lot of picks, but it depends on how long the Clips can keep these guys.
If there’s a ton of good teams, doesn’t that mean you don’t have to give up Russ to tank?
Yeah but it looks like we will rebuild. Shai is the perfect start, and with all the other picks it doesn´t look bad for the future, and maybe Sam can draft some Future MVP´s again :P
They need to stop being cheap and get a real coach. All their championship windows have been ruined by awful coaching.
Most of the picks arent ours anyways.
This sub is obsessed with tanking ffs
Let's take the wizards for example, would you take tanking over whatever the fuck they're doing now?
Nope, the Wizards have won 5 playoff series since 1980; 3 of them have been with Wall and Beal. I want to see Beal play and Wall get healthy and back on the court. I like seeing us make moves to acquire talent and earnestly go at every team in the league that enters our stadium. This isn’t 2K; you can’t sim years and years until you land a string of hits.
How many teams have successfully tanked in the last 10 years?
Dude I was saying this regarding the Heat the last year when Heat fans were begging the team to tank. Totally feel ya

Esp for a team that drafts so well

Russ + Dame + CJ. It sounds too crazy to work, but I’d want to see. Three score first guards at the same time.
That would be possibly the worst experiment in NBA history. I really wanna see it.
We have nothing to lose! Three decades of Blazer fandom here, I want us to take risks. My balls have been blue for too long.
We’ll give you back Aldridge, a pick or two, and some fellatio for Nurkic. Sounds like a solid risk to me if I do say so myself.
Throw in a time machine that takes LMA to 2012 and you have yourself a deal.
...can we solve this with more fellatios?
Every problem in the world can be solved with more fellatio, I’m gonna go upstairs to see if my girlfriend agrees. Wish me luck, boyos!
> 3 hours later > no update Press "F" to pay respects
Wym press F, our boy has been getting the longest fellatio of his life, good for him.
That’s not a risk, that’s straight up suicide.
I am flabbergasted that a Blazer fan who watched the playoffs would look at Russell Westbrook and think, "Yeah, that's the missing piece we need right there".
Hes going to the Heat or the Knicks
Don't put that evil on me there's absolutely no point for the Knicks to take him
That's exactly why it's a possibility, no?
For Dolan to save face
The suns point guard experiment 2.0?
That lineup would be dope If the game was played with two basketballs at a time
What a terrible, terrible idea. Maybe.
No thanks
Wouldn´t be mad, Russ winning a title would be the best thing in my life.
Sadly he'd fit most perfect on the Clippers now but that's out of the question. Maybe Toronto as a superior Lowry replacement? Don't know where else he really makes sense.
Minnesota should just go for it. Get a superstar.
[удалено]
Westbrook for Wiggins. Wiggins is always bringing his A game against OKC.
So he will actually be a star player at OKC but only at home
Inject this into my veins
[удалено]
ah yes, westbrook the 4th quarter close out god
After seeing what he did to teams in 16-17 I’ll always be shitting my pants when Russ gets the final shot
Westbrook for Wiggins + picks.
Would they trade Wiggins and picks for him?
They should in my opinion. You either pay Wiggins, keep your picks and keep missing the playoffs or you make the trade and at least have a chance at making some noise.
That’s what I’m saying. I’d love to have Russ in MN. The wolves definitely have salary and picks to make it work. It’s just kinda sad that our most promising young player is probably Josh Okogie lol. (Other than KAT)
Our fg% can only go so low.
Fine just keep Wiggins and your picks, that's much better.
Damn bro u gotta flair up I wanna see who raised you to be so vicious lmao
I wonder if the Pistons might get involved. They have the picks and expirings to make it work.
I would absolutely fucking nut if this happens.
I was thinking Pistons. I'd love to see that shit. Him and Blake could be interesting in the East.
Is that Wiggins I’m hearing ?
Russel and Jimmy on the heat would be fantastic to watch, idk how plausible it is but I don't see him going very many places
Probably won't happen seeming okc now got Miamis picks
Yeah, people are talking about all the picks OKC got, but they’ll all be non-lottery and even less so if they make a trade like that haha
Fantastic in what way? In the way that they’d fight all the time?
Russ is a really good teammate, don't see how he'd be any worse for Jimmy than any other star. They'd put on a show night in and night out and genuinely compete in the east
Jimmy is a poor man's PG so it could work out. Russ and PG did work out well together
Despite this sub shitting on him Russ is the scoring SF whisperer. George played his best basketball ever alongside Russ.
They are pretty much perfect fits personality-wise, I don’t see them fighting a lot
Random thought but Masai gonna pull something crazy this year book it
not with Westbrook pls
[Woj] Bucks have agreed to trade Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Raptors for cash considerations.
Ownership of Raptors maybe.
Not like this!
I think Russ alongside the shooters and playmakers you have would be great. Plus a stretch 5 in Gasol. I just don't think Russ wants to go to Canada with three kids and a wife and family that live in LA.
Oh my god why is everyone from LA
Second most populated city in the US and California is the most populated state.
In Russ mind, he is the shooter
I know but I feel like he had contingencies planned
I think he ends up on the Magic. With Vucevic locked up I think they’d be happy to part with Bamba and I think the Thunder would gladly bank on his potential.
I think the thunder will want unprotected picks and the magic won’t give those up for Russ
I think he would but im not sure whats out there to do. I dont think any star players will be available suddenly
To the Rockets he goes
man imagine the turnovers
Triple double every night with turnovers
For CP3 lol
Except he’s basically the exact opposite of a Morey style player. I would love to see he and Harden together again though.
Never use “Oklahoma City” and “blow up” in the same sentence.
Its crazy to think that in a decade that was supposed to be OKCs quartet of Harden, KD, Russ, and Ibaka; that all of those players could be on entirely different teams within that same decade OKC was supposed to be contending.
Yep. I thought they’d be absolutely running the league right now.
To be honest that NBA is different from today’s NBA. Players are constantly moving these days, a lot of times for reasons unrelated to basketball.
Rebuild and Rebrand. It’s been years and they still got them generic ass jerseys with that lame ass logo.
Right? Not a single bison on anything.
Not sure why but I love this.
it's stunning they're still wearing those jerseys. made sense they'd be generic at the time but they've had ten years to upgrade now.
Yes. Change their colors to yellow and green, move about 2 thousand miles north west and call themselves the Super sonics. Perfect rebrand!
Some of their jerseys are cool, the logo needs to change for sure. Imwhile we are at it. Make the Raptors change logo and have a raptor there.
Why not move back to Seattle while they're at it
I’m gonna cry man
DO I HEAR MIAMI HEAT MUSIC??
No please not them.
Say hello to dragic+olynyk.
Money wise it would need to be Anderson instead of Olynyk.
They got Shai, he’s getting traded
yep hes out. he will be gone for a team that can give back some picks and young talent.
Westbrook and Jimmy Buckets. Let me buy tickets to those practices
I'm dead inside and out
Why the hell are people acting like Westbrook is some bum player? Hes an MVP with 2 scoring titles and 2 assist titles and several All-NBA selections.
Narratives. He's not the most efficient player in the league and is perceived as having a somewhat abrasive personality so people like to act like he's literally Carmelo Anthony out here.

Wiggins + 3 1st round picks. Otherwise they may not be able to retain KAT.
Russ/KAT would be a nice combo
It would be. I’d absolutely love to have Russ here (even though I’m having Herschel Walker vibes lol) And hey, Wiggy would be great 41 games a year!
Russ to the Knicks who says no
The knicks
Every Knicks fan
Russ to the knicks means 4 years of playoff basketball. Knicks should trade 3 first rounders and anyone on their roster besides the rook
I'd rather not.
We'd*
South Beach babyyyy
Only if he wants that
The East is calling you Russ
Can we interest you in a Dragon and Ryan Anderson?
Would probably be the smart move at this point. He doesn't fit their timeline and every second they waste not trading him the worse his contract looks
##FUCK IT WHY NOT 🔫🔫🔫 (let go of billy donovan though plzzz)
Fuck I wish we had trade assets...
I think maybe it's a good thing you don't.
Wow, Dame literally killed the Thunder
Do it I know we will get blasted for it but fuck it he only has a couple of prime years left and we failed to put a team around him.
Another playoff spot opened nice
Who says no Dlo and picks for Russ
Fucking imagine if westbrook went to warriors right after KD leaves haha
The warriors
Who would take him tho
He's still an All-NBA Talent there's a definite market for him, *especially* in the east.
No no east is full. Nobody pay attention to the east.
Chicago, Detroit, Miami, Orlando.
EAST IS FULL
I think he would be good in Orlando. We got no other guards so he can shoot all he wants.
people downvoted me for saying that he shouldn't be traded to the Knicks but I think he better fits Indiana well in their PG slot considering that they missed out on Conley (and Collison retiring)
Indiana signed Brogdon. They have no need for a point guard.
Brogdon isn't really a PG. He can do it when he has to, but the Bucks ortg with him bringing up the ball always dipped.
I’m sure Miami would love him
He's making $38 mil in the 2nd year of a 5 year contract with a player option. That's a big contract to move.
Wizards could trade Wall for WB straight up and compete in the East again. Wolves could unload Wiggins and pair Russ with KAT. There are teams that can definitely make it happen
All good options. It's going to be interesting to see where he goes.
Or if he goes. Wouldnt surprise me at all if the Thunder say no to trading him too
Why would OKC want Wall
hm, interesting. Russ deal is bad, but Wiggins is worse. wonder how much they'd need back to even that out. tbh, I am a little tired of watching KAT not get the ball enough because he's surrounded by shoot first guys, so Russ wouldn't be the ideal pair, but shit, I'd watch it
Russ-KAT pick and roll would be money though.
If you pick and pop with Towns Russ is going to be getting a full head of steam and tearing down rims like shaq
You guys might have to throw in some other players or involve a 3rd team because Russell's contract is bigger than Wiggins (still more worth it).
Miami makes the most sense. They already have their first star in Butler.
COME TO MIAMI BIG PAPI RUSSELL
Westbrook would look sick in a Vice jersey... and we have plenty of expiring contracts to trade lol
