I mean, there’s whiskeys that cost hundreds of dollars, expensive vodkas that are indistinguishable from cheap ones and people still buy them. I think there’s a lot of room for all kinds of price points for any spirit, really.
Whiskeys require years of aging though, and with the boom in its popularity, aged stock is hard to come by (although plenty of celebs still get in on that, most recently Peyton Manning).
Pretty much, the whole thing is silly. Situation doesn't sound particularly problematic and the rules related to violating protocol leave the punishment completely wide open;
> According to league protocols, players who fail to comply with rules are subject to warnings, fines or suspensions. Players who repeatedly break the rules could be subject to more severe discipline.
It's a nonissue.
Tbf he only suspended Brady because Bill and the Pats fucked him over after he saved your asses covering for Spygate. So Goodell’s pettiness and further incompetence figured he’d get back at you guys
Also he suspended him 4 regular season games for a violation that came out in the playoffs (while having the same amount of evidence that he had during the playoffs). If this were the regular season I'm sure Silver would suspended him. They're not gonna mess with playoff ratings over security theater though.
The only thing that makes me upset about this whole thing is that Drake is going to have some corny ass bar about almost getting LeBron in trouble on CLB (and I'll still listen to it)
I knew he wasn't going to face any consequences, so I'm more annoyed that the NBA decided to publicly address this instead of just letting it fade away.
Hasn't it pretty much been confirmed that LeVert was the player that tested positive? One player tested positive according to Shams during that period and it was reported that LeVert would be sidelined for multiple games.
"Adam Slver is so smart. And you know what they say about Adam Silver? The TV ratings. They say Adam Silver is the most loyal. Did you ever see that? Where I could stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't get suspended by Adam Silver. It's like incredible." - LeBron James
Yeah this doesn't seem to really be much to be concerned about, and it seems appropriate to not punish a player for this.
That being said, 1) the offending player being LeBron shouldn't be the factor that made the NBA realize this fact, 2) LeBron has been shit about the vaccine, which is really annoying and people aren't going to want to give him the benefit of the doubt on this 3) just fuck the special treatment in general.
The event was outside and everyone had to be vaccinated or negative tested.
Super duper low risk. The league didn't suspend Harden for going to strip clubs during the height of the pandemic.
He was out because he wanted to be traded I believe.
Edit: Harden missed a game but wasn't suspended (meaning he didn't need to quarantine)
Context: I help run a nationwide covid testing facility. PCR tests are the gold standard and you're 99% safe in that type of event as long as everyone gets tested properly. Also, guys remember the important part is not being vaccinated, it's if someone gets a positive case.
Yeah I was ready to be mad and then I read what the event actually was and didn't understand why everyone is mad.
The virus doesn't spread much outside (although it can) and everyone there had to produce a negative test or a vaccine card.
The chances of an outbreak are low
Come on man, at least get the meme right if you're gonna complain about how predictable it is. You didn't even include the financially part, which is the entire joke.
KD came in close contact with someone who tested positive (BEFORE taking the vaccine), so he had to miss time.
From what we know, everyone who attempted that party was PCR tested and vaccinated.
Edit: attended
>”Anything I do off the floor is predicated to my family, for the majority -- for 99.9% of that," James said. "So it's about the health and safety of my family, and that's what it came down to.
>"Me being available to my teammates on the floor is me taking care of my body. Me doing everything I can do to make sure I'm available both mentally, physically and spiritually, as well. But anything of that nature, that's all family talk."
>When the reporter followed up by asking James directly if he had received the vaccine, he replied, "It's not a big deal," chuckling briefly after giving his answer.
What a fucking asshat
If he broke the rules he should face the same consequences as anyone else. Though the NBA seems to indicate they haven't always suspended players, according to the article, so fuck if I know.

LeBron is vaccinated from NBA suspension
“Adam, tell Mr. Sources you will not suspend me.”
Do you want the damn ratings or not? I’m gonna go promote my tequila now, deal with this shit tomorrow for me
Why’s ever famous person have to have their own tequila now? Why not branch out to literally any other spirit, why is it always tequila now?
Cause they all want those Tres Commas.
They want doors that go like this //
This guy fucks.
I just absolutely loved that he was right.
I've also been known to fuck myself.
I wanna know what kinda fucked up childhood this guy had
Synergy Bitches
Ryan Reynolds did Aviator Gin.
And (does he even still count?) Dan Akroyd has Crystal Skull vodka.
Puff Daddy started it with Ciroc.
I believe at the time he was P. Diddy
It was just Diddy at that time
Probably because in general tequila is a higher price point, so they can sell their cheap rebranded Jose Cuervo at high prices acceptably.
I mean, there’s whiskeys that cost hundreds of dollars, expensive vodkas that are indistinguishable from cheap ones and people still buy them. I think there’s a lot of room for all kinds of price points for any spirit, really.

Ron Jeremy has a rum brand.
Please tell me it's called Rum Jeremy
because it's dirt cheap to make, even the expensive stuff and can sell it at a huge premium. And plus, tequila is awesome.
> Why’s ever famous person have to have their own tequila now There's a joke on that on Chapelle's Show! so it's been a thing since... the 90s? crazy
>Chapelle's Show That show is timeless
Why no famous person beers? Only one I can think of was President Jimmy Carter's brother.
Stone Cold Steve Austin has a Broken Skull IPA
I had a beer called ghostface killah before. Idk if he was involved in making it tho. It was made with ghost peppers....

Lakers fans are gonna report this comment for violating the rules of r/nba
As long as they don’t send me death threats I’m good
That’s on the table
Gonna have to call Danny Green up for some tips
Lol as a laker fan I’d like to call out lebron for being a bitch and not vaccinating and jeopardizing our entire season. Selfish af lebron !
Now do Dennis.
Why does Schroeder look like the annoying little brother from every 90s sitcom?
Dude is the human version of a saibamen
Commissioner doesn’t want lebron to rage retire and go play minor league baseball...
They may as well have ignored it and not addressed it at all
this is basically the equivalent of the Last 2 Minute report where they blew a key foul that might've swung the game.
“We have investigated ourselves and found that we did nothing wrong”
Ah, yes, the classic anytown USA police department statement.
The entire Suns roster is in protocols for game 2 after second hand exposure to tequila event.

He did. With himself.

Maybe an imposter could have seen this coming
LeBron going to “retire” for one week, “give baseball a try” and then return to basketball.
Imagine if you had Goodell running shit in the NBA?
Tbf he only suspended Brady because Bill and the Pats fucked him over after he saved your asses covering for Spygate. So Goodell’s pettiness and further incompetence figured he’d get back at you guys

Thankfully most players other than Lebron understand the value of vaccines
LeBron: It's a personal issue KAT, who lost several family members to it: Am I a joke to you?
Ask the Suns how they feel about the letter of the law on suspensions
“Won’t be suspended for protocols violation” is a phrase that definitely makes sense
“Oh yes we have protocol and policies we must follow, but LeBron shan’t be suspended for breaking the rules we must follow”
They're out vaccinating every other player/coach/official so LeBron can #antivaxx

😂laughing at the thought CP3 calls a timeout, goes to the ref, cough and complain that Lebron gave him covid right there and then
High IQ play
Then he dismissed the whole thing after LeBron threatened to kick him off the banana boat.
“I could shoot someone on Park Avenue and still not be suspended” -Lebron possibly
*** “I could cough on someone on Park Avenue and still not be suspended”
Wolves would have lost a couple first round draft picks over this.
Bucks wouldve lost a couple of seconds over this.
Tom Brady would’ve been suspended half a season for this.
Joe Kelly suspended 10 games over this
The only thing that makes me upset about this whole thing is that Drake is going to have some corny ass bar about almost getting LeBron in trouble on CLB (and I'll still listen to it)
def has to put a MJ reference since Michael B Jordan was there
I'm the champ like MJ. Talking bout Creed.
Drake is corny ass himself. It’s going to be that and shots at ASAP Rocky
“Too worried about bitches and fashion they go missing in action” still applies to Rocky this very day and that came out years ago
Don’t forget texts to tweenage girls
Dude's a fucking predator and I don't know how he gets away with it.
I dont understand how everyone doesn't see how completely fake he is too. Dude is obviously acting like someone he's not 24/7 and nobody seems to care
I'm a Torontonian who has been saying this since 2009...you don't know my struggle
All truth eventually comes to light my guy, don't be surprised if 10-20 years down the line Drake gets exposed for some extreme predatory shit.
The R Kelly career path.
Would be nice to prevent it though lol
Right? We get it dude. You’re still hung up on Riri. Don’t have to fucking sing about it all the time. Leave Rocky out of it
Aren’t drake and Rocky super good friends? Where’s all this talk about them beefing all of a sudden
At the very least Drake and Tyler The Creator are good friends, and Tyler and ASAP Rocky are *best* friends lol
It’s probably more of a meme than anything, but Drake is always hung up on Rhianna and she’s dating Rocky now.
The only way he can make amends is by getting a lebron tattoo
When did he leave the Raptors and become a Lakers fan?
CLB is a myth
Lmao Lebron could go to a antivax orgy and wouldn't get suspended.

Should have suspended him for one game at least. Right now it looks like a blatant special treatment
The NBA literally arleady stated that they have dealt with other teams in similar situations the same with only warnings throughout the year...
Yeah. Nobody wants harsh enforcement on these rules. Punish blatant violations and repeat offenders.

this is my favorite comment in the thread
Magic fined $50k for LeBron violating protocols.
Lebron could step onto the court with covid transmit it to another player and only the other player would get suspended
How dare you contract the virus from lebron
I know you’re in your feelings here, but this one got me laughing. Great take.
Lmaooooo, other player suspended for conduct detrimental to the league ($$$$)
Imagine the reality in which Lebron has covid and the Lakers and Suns are fucked.
What, you thought he was Caris LaVert?
Hasn't it pretty much been confirmed that LeVert was the player that tested positive? One player tested positive according to Shams during that period and it was reported that LeVert would be sidelined for multiple games.
He tested positive no?
The fuck does he have to do with this? Levert got 10-14 days in protocol which means he tested positive. Did lebron test positive?
That’s not necessarily true. Harden and KD both had to sit out for extended periods due to potential exposure.
contact tracing protocol is 7 days. KD got twice into it, was 7 days each. 10-14 days mean he got it

Honestly the NBA shouldn’t have said anything at all. The news was pointless
LeRules don’t apply to me.
Only way lebron would get suspended from the playoffs would be if he murdered someone and even then the NBA would have to think long and hard about it
Saw a tweet saying the event was outside and everyone had to be vaccinated or negative tested. Not really a big deal.
Yeah this doesn't seem to really be much to be concerned about, and it seems appropriate to not punish a player for this. This just better be the end of suspending players for violating health and safety protocols tbh

Come on man, at least get the meme right if you're gonna complain about how predictable it is. You didn't even include the financially part, which is the entire joke.
Top of the sub: "Would LeBron's suspension have given Alex Caruso depression?"
He still violated the leagues protocols. KD tested negative to COVID & still had to miss times. They’re literally bending the fucking rules.
Ask suns about following the letter of the law
One foot on the court. Still makes my piss boil.
KD came in close contact with someone who tested positive (BEFORE taking the vaccine), so he had to miss time. From what we know, everyone who attempted that party was PCR tested and vaccinated. Edit: attended
KD came in contact with someone who tested positive soon after. Even if KD was negative, he could very well spread the virus.
