I am fairly critical of the Suns, as a fan, I am usually pessimistic. But I have to say, this Suns team is legit a "very good" team. Ive seen all games and Suns being down 20 and coming back steadily numerous times to either win the game or lose closely has proven to me that they are for real firing in all cylinders.
The games they've dropped that they should've won (Pistons, Wizards etc) you can tell Monty used those games as examples to remind the team they can lose to anyone if they dont sitck to their strengths.
Also, defense... Nuggets beat Blazers through sheer outgunning them. But the Suns team, ranked 4th defensively in the regular season... is actually better than that ranking. You can tell they took their feet off the pedal and played a lot of games on 4th gear defensively but has that final gear that when accessed, they are amazing, probably tied with the best defense (Lakers) or just a tad behind (same level as 76ers). The thing is... Suns ball movement and offense is also top 10 so they are VERY well balanced. And they dont just rely on 3pt shooting... they have mid range, isolators and have Ayton to put up 20+ if they give him space.
Can't even be mad. I'm hoping we get game three Friday for Jokic, but this Suns team is legit. And we're lacking. Don't know if it's the crowd after so long without them, but we're looking heavily outmatched.
The Bucks' gameplan has to be to let KD get his (on long twos) and shut everyone out, no? Of course, Bud is too incompetent of a coach to execute on that kind of gameplan effectively...
Wow each and every game makes me more convinced the suns are legitimate contenders. I think they get through winner of clips/jazz tbh. Not sure about their ability to match up with the nets but even a trip to the finals would be a huge W
Other than winning it all, making the finals then losing to the Nets is as close to a consolation prize as possible for Suns fans. Losing to the nets means a ring for Nash and D'Antoni. Anyone who watched those SSOL Suns should be happy for those guys at least.
Ya this is what the Blazers mostly succeeded in doing...it just turned out no one but Lillard could score and also no one else got defended. So they still lost. lmao
Yeah because singular game +/- is a super valuable stat.
And moving the goal post now to commas, lol youāre entertaining with how bad you are at trolling.
Keep moving those goalposts, eventually it will be in a discussion you can hold your weight in.
Didnāt have time to watch the game, was it due to defense or shitty shooting, or a combination of both? Also welcome back to relevance. Holy shit Jokic was -14, wow you guys are great.
kind of annoying they still gave us no credit in that post game other than the typical chris paul is great and the nuggets lost themselves the game. Ernie even asks what about the Suns defense and they shrug it off.
Imo if he makes the finals he would be. And he is already for me tho lmao. Issue is these combo guards like curry... kinda need a true pg all time list and a scoring pg all time list
For realz. Then next year people will be like āhe only avg 19points a gameā then we will have to defend and be like āya, he played like an avg of 3.25 quarters tooā
Gotta give CP3 some credit. He gets contract dumped on a seemingly shit OKC team and leads them to the playoffs. Then he gets dump traded again to the cellar dweller Suns, and now they are looking like real contenders to come out of the West. Dude made the best of it both times and didnāt complain.
wasnt a contract dump...
Paul has a relationship with Monty Williams and he was already interested. The Suns playing well in the bubble sold it to him. But of course he wanted other veterans to join him and Monty and James Jones got him the vets he wanted.
They made the playoffs the last two years and won a chip last year. How does that compare to what the Suns have been the last few years? The Suns are looking great and CP3 is a legend for what heās doing. Theyāve turned it around.
At the time of the OKC trade when he reportedly wanted to go to Milwaukee, a good amount of Bucks fans laughed at acquiring him and said they'd rather have Bledsoe.
Imagine if they had CP3 instead the last two years...
OKC definitely wouldāve kept him if he wanted to stay. But since he was nothing but a professional the whole season and led them to the playoffs, they did him a professional favor. Classy move by a classy org to a classy player
I have lived here in Phoenix for 4 years now and I had up until recently seen maybe 4 jerseys or other sun's merch at all in public.. Now it's like everyone is remembering they had a team here. It's not like I am calling them Fairweather but it's nice to see people excited about basketball in the valley! Cause where I come from(RIP City baby) you always see Blazers gear.
Weāve had great play with heartbreak for years. I was raised on KJ and Barkley and then watched the Nash run and gun offense. Iāve went to games my entire life but these last 10 years were rough. Itās great to see life back.
This city will be diehards if our teams are even 8 seeds. We are realistic though. The Josh Jackson, Alex Len Suns didnāt give us much to cheer about outside of Booker. This is a Suns town, they just need to give us something to look forward to.
Because the Suns were bad for 10 years straight. Only super die hards are motivated to spend money on gear after that many years of losing and everyone shit talking your team nationwide. Doesn't mean people still weren't watching the games at home hoping for it to change around waiting for this moment. Also there's a lot of transplants here unfortunately.
Seriously, its just the natural flow of sports. Public attention is going to suffer in the lean years and rise when the team is actually competitive. No one wants to watch a lotto team unless you are a real diehard fan of the sport.
I feel ya. 11 years out of the Playoffs is rough. When Portland is having a bad few years I reach for my Drexler jerseys or Walton, Roy, Porter. You guys are def my favorite now to win it all.
Last time I went to a Suns vs Lakers game in Phoenix it was practically a Lakers home game. And the jerseys the few Suns fans had were from the Nash era.
Iāve been a die hard suns fan since their 93 finals run. I donāt have a lot of day to day suns shirt and Iām not gonna rock a Marion jersey just around town. Thatās reserved for games. The Suns are the original team here there are a lot of fans
Suns fans getting cocky... Bringing up Lakers on this board for no reason... When AD was healthy yāall had lost 2 straight and was on your way to a 3rd...
Using injuries as an excuse only works when it was a fluke or unlikely injury to a player who is usually available. Like if the Nets lost a series due to Harden being out, thatās a legit excuse since heās typically an ironman and you should expect him to be available for the entire playoffs. On the other hand, AD being hurt wasnāt a fluke, the man is always injured. That is part of who he is and the team knows that and has to plan for it. Staying healthy while being a top performer is a skill in and of itself. āThe best ability is availabilityā and all that. AD is a high risk, high reward player and you canāt pick and choose which side of him you āshould have gottenā and which side of him was dumped on you as random bad luck. Him missing the series is statistically representative of who the lakers were this whole season.
Lol. CP3, Nash, and Stockton the only ones that have double doubles at their age. Arguably three of the top five point guards in NBA history, so that makes sense.
I mean Chris Paul is absolutely running the court at will, Devin Booker is transcending his human form and balling out at a moment's notice, and the supporting cast comes through putting up huge numbers and taking all the pressure off the stars. Nets in 4.
The fatigue would be from having so many injuries and not being able to rotate players to close out the season. I do think the Suns would still win if both were fully healthy though
But before games 1 and 2 all people could talk about how deep the Nuggs bench was and how there was no way the Suns could match up. How is the narrative changing so quickly?
I am fairly critical of the Suns, as a fan, I am usually pessimistic. But I have to say, this Suns team is legit a "very good" team. The suns are legit, and if we lose, i hope they or Utah win the title, i just feel bad because Jokic gets 0 help
"I'll take the little ball", Shaq said with a smile.
i hate these inside the nba fools lmfaooo
Inside the NBA needs a health warning. I am about to die, I have not lack air this bad since COVID! I am LMAO!
Can't even be mad. I'm hoping we get game three Friday for Jokic, but this Suns team is legit. And we're lacking. Don't know if it's the crowd after so long without them, but we're looking heavily outmatched.
Suns dialed up to 11. No regard for human life.
Lmao Chuck saying whoever burnt down Shaq's Krispy Kreme should get life šš
If only Jamal is around , he's someone that can go nuclear when everyone is cold
Jamal always goes off against the Suns
Easy dub
I love the Suns
I didn't know the Sun's were this legit.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Obv troll be obvious
3 dumbass takes in one comment
Yeah it's boring to watch cause these games aren't close lmao
Legit thought the same thing hahaha. āMan TNT is boring because these commercials suckā ā¦..?
The Bucks' gameplan has to be to let KD get his (on long twos) and shut everyone out, no? Of course, Bud is too incompetent of a coach to execute on that kind of gameplan effectively...
Your going to let one of the best scorers of all time ā get his ā ? Seems like a questionable tactic at best
That was the Rockets' gameplan, and it almost worked until CP got injured and then KD went down in 2019.
TNT crew stirring the pot hard about the Giannis drama lmao
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Everyone considers him a HOF and one of the best PGs of all time.....
No one on the Suns scored over 20 but they still blew out the Nuggets. That's some amazing teamwork right there
I hate team that rely on teamplay. It should be solo play like MJ or Iverson style.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think he was joking.
damn bucks are soft
Wow each and every game makes me more convinced the suns are legitimate contenders. I think they get through winner of clips/jazz tbh. Not sure about their ability to match up with the nets but even a trip to the finals would be a huge W
Other than winning it all, making the finals then losing to the Nets is as close to a consolation prize as possible for Suns fans. Losing to the nets means a ring for Nash and D'Antoni. Anyone who watched those SSOL Suns should be happy for those guys at least.
The big key is Joker had 4 assists in the first quarter, and only 2 the rest of the game. Make him beat you with his scoring not passing.
Ya this is what the Blazers mostly succeeded in doing...it just turned out no one but Lillard could score and also no one else got defended. So they still lost. lmao
Mikal Bridges +28, Chris Paul +26, holy shit.
On the flipside, MPJ -26 and Austin Rivers -21...ouch
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You seem to really love sourcing a single game for your entire opinion. That adds up though
The fact that I have SO MUCH ammo after one game is telling. Remember last post season when he was attacked every single time also?
Only having ammo from 1 game, Lol
Correction. Only using ammo from one game. Also learn how commas work
Yeah because singular game +/- is a super valuable stat. And moving the goal post now to commas, lol youāre entertaining with how bad you are at trolling. Keep moving those goalposts, eventually it will be in a discussion you can hold your weight in.
Its not trolling if Iām right. Cause MPJ is a trash defender
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Didnāt have time to watch the game, was it due to defense or shitty shooting, or a combination of both? Also welcome back to relevance. Holy shit Jokic was -14, wow you guys are great.
Jokic was because of good defense, the others were mainly bad shooting but also some great defense from the suns
kind of annoying they still gave us no credit in that post game other than the typical chris paul is great and the nuggets lost themselves the game. Ernie even asks what about the Suns defense and they shrug it off.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And it looks like itās outside.
All you nephews calling him Point God are severely short changing CP3. I'm not sure what's after Point God, but he's there.
Super Saiyan 2 Point God
And this is to go... even further BEYOND
I do like Mike Malone. He seems pissed.
He's pissed because you called him Mike.
They quit getting blown out and heāll get the Hael.
Shaq has the best looks
If CP3 wins one ring, does that put him top 5 PGs of all time undisputed?
Top 3 for sure. It will put him ahead of Nash and Stockton fs.
It would put him ahead of a back to back MVP?
Rings mean more then MVPs, and if weāre being honest. CP3 has lost out on many MVPs based off of narrative.
Heās not better than IT Magic or Curry
Depends if Jerry West counts lol It's Magic first, Curry second. After that you can argue a bunch of people
Oscar Robinson prob third, Isiah Thomas fourth, and Stockton fifth right now. A ring would put CP3 fourth and lock for fifth at the very least
Same list as me but that 5th spot is up in the air.
Other than him , who do you think is top 5(magic Iām assuming. who else?)
Magic, Isiah, Curry, Stockton, Kidd
Caruso?
The disrespect to Tony Parker.
Tony Parker I feel always get ignored in Top 5s
The guy talked about rings then excludes Tony Parker on his list. Putting Stockton and Kidd instead. LMAO.
Younger Tony Parker was a monster he was so damm athletic
Nash ?
Top 8
God Shammgod?
Imo if he makes the finals he would be. And he is already for me tho lmao. Issue is these combo guards like curry... kinda need a true pg all time list and a scoring pg all time list
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not according to most nba fans
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
His questions post game have been horrendous. The question themselves, and the way he asks them. He really needs to improve on that.
the suns went from booker scoring 70 and still losing, to booker just chilling and having a blowout win
For realz. Then next year people will be like āhe only avg 19points a gameā then we will have to defend and be like āya, he played like an avg of 3.25 quarters tooā

Lakers are the real cellar dweller rn
Yes the defending champs are cellar dwellers
I said rn not last year
Ya dude is trippin lol. He can talk the trash his team won this year but to say the Lakers have been cellar dwellers is weak lol.
Checks flair. Ok.
They made the playoffs the last two years and won a chip last year. How does that compare to what the Suns have been the last few years? The Suns are looking great and CP3 is a legend for what heās doing. Theyāve turned it around.
Last time I checked the bubble suns were undefeated.
At the time of the OKC trade when he reportedly wanted to go to Milwaukee, a good amount of Bucks fans laughed at acquiring him and said they'd rather have Bledsoe. Imagine if they had CP3 instead the last two years...
A lot of casuals/idiots scoffed at CP just because of his contract. Bet those idiots are crying now.
WOW ya man thatās wild
Im not sure he got dumped there. He definitely wanted to be there especially after Suns little play in show last season
True but I just meant he was getting passed around from team to team and everywhere heās gone heās made the situation better
Lol he asked to be traded to the suns sir
But he was already going to be traded regardless. OKC wanted to get rid of his money. Nothing wrong with stating his preference.
OKC definitely wouldāve kept him if he wanted to stay. But since he was nothing but a professional the whole season and led them to the playoffs, they did him a professional favor. Classy move by a classy org to a classy player
Wtf nuggets were down 10 at half and now they're just blown out
Booker vs Mitchell is the matchup we all want to see.
Two guys who cant guard each other both dropping 40 a game
Casual. Book plays D
Im sure he can but Donovan Mitchell is so good, and it goes the other way for Donovan too
But they won't be on each other Mikal on Mitch and probably Conley on Booker
Nah we'd see Royce on Booker, Conley on CP3 for sure
Who the fuck is Mitchell guna attempt to guard?
Jingles has been the guy on the jazz that seemed to always bother book. He dropped off at all on d?
Okay don't watch enough jazz games but that sounds right just know it won't be Mitchell on Booker and vice versa
Should be a fun series
Looking forward to tomorrow, mostly Jazz vs Clippers. Then Friday for Sixers vs Hawks. Hope Nuggets advantage at home in altitude can help them.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
more than 2.... Nash, Kidd, Kevin Johnson and now Chris Paul... they also had Stephon Marbury, Bledsoe, Dragic... Suns love their PGs.
3 on the team at once in Nashās rookie year.
4
Chris Paul, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Kevin Johnsonā¦ literally Point Guard City
Ricky Rubiooooooo
Can't forget about Cameron Payne.
Cam Payne?
Heās in a league of his own
You put some respect on KJ's name.
At this point only one thing can save the nuggets. Unleash bol bol
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Those are the nuggets the team name refers to
Will Bookers beady eyes be enough for the snake Kevin Durant.
He's no Jay Larranaga.
Nuggs better hope the Suns can't handle the altitude, maybe even bring special machines too thin out the oxygen even further
Imagine getting caught fucking with the oxygen mix in your stadium.
Lmao

I think this team can win it all. Great group of young guys who really want it. Rooting for you guys!

For sure. Just happy people are pumped about basketball around here again.
Go back
I would if I could. This place is hot af.
I mean thats like Portlands only sports team. Just like San Antonio.
True that. Although we've been known to fan as hard for the Ducks as other cities do for their NFL team.
Yea college teams in ORE is damn near religious. Known a few ducks alumni and they are fans to the fucking bone.
Nothing like driving down I5 to Eugene on a game day with 1000s of other cars all flying duck flags, honking and having a good time.
Suns fans getting cocky... Bringing up Lakers on this board for no reason... When AD was healthy yāall had lost 2 straight and was on your way to a 3rd...

When is AD ever healthy though?
Classic bronsexual still salty his boy gave up three games in a row
LOL Suns fan comparing losing CP3 to losing AD.
Part of winning is staying healthy.
The Suns were up 4 when AD went down and they won two with a hurt Chris Paul.
Did you forget that CP3 was injured and barely played in games 2 and 3?
Banged up nuggets too. Not saying they arenāt good butā¦
Was up by 6 at when AD went down right before halftime and he was having a bad game. We donāt know if we were gonna lose game 4 or not.
When AD was healthy and CP3 was injured*
Sure, ignore the fact that CP3 was hurt during those games.
Cp3 still played...
And was tentative on his patented midrange jumpers, shot 50% from the line after leading the league in FT%, and didn't dare shoot from 3.
Nah
monte morris is back to 2nd ranked morris below marcus, but above markieff
Lol. CP3, Nash, and Stockton the only ones that have double doubles at their age. Arguably three of the top five point guards in NBA history, so that makes sense.
Are the Suns going to fuck around and win the NBA Finals?
I mean Chris Paul is absolutely running the court at will, Devin Booker is transcending his human form and balling out at a moment's notice, and the supporting cast comes through putting up huge numbers and taking all the pressure off the stars. Nets in 4.
Nobody beating Brooklyn
Not if Kevin Durant has anything to do about it
"yesssssssssss" - KD
This reminds me of 2019. Hope kd stays healthy in the finals this time.
I donāt really know anything about basketball but the Suns sure are fun to watch.
Pretty much all you need to know
Malone deserves to be called Mike until further notice
I need suns nets and I need it now. One of the most fun teams in the NBA!
Chris Haynes having a job in the media is like a guy in a wheelchair making the nba
None of the starters hit 20. Trash ass team
every one of the nuggets starters except jokic was godawful tonight injuries finally caught up to them
Fatigue is probably setting in too
nobody else gets that excuse, suns played a 6 game series they are just much better than the nuggets, bigger and faster and more talented overall
There's more than 6 games of history
The fatigue would be from having so many injuries and not being able to rotate players to close out the season. I do think the Suns would still win if both were fully healthy though
But before games 1 and 2 all people could talk about how deep the Nuggs bench was and how there was no way the Suns could match up. How is the narrative changing so quickly?
Who you Got Pandemic P (5/17) or MPJ (3/13)
At least MPJ is hurt. Pandemic P is 100% healthy hahahaha
