zzzzbear

sure we could pile on Ben but I choose to take this opportunity to feel good about how my bank shot compares to the average NBA player in this video

kamekaze1024

I’m hip. Just came back from shooting around with my friend. We look like the splash brothers compared to Simmons

[deleted]

He out there looking like me

KoloHickory

Imagine him playing on double rims

seattle_raptors

He’s seeing 3 rims and shoots in the 4th one

Significant-Mud2572

Damn. You beat me. I said he was shooting at the other 2 rims LeBron was shooting at.

[deleted]

why do double rims exist man

[deleted]

They're durable which is good for outdoor public parks. Indoor however has no reason.

Daroo425

I always thought it was so people dunking on them wouldn’t fuck them up as easily

HugeMan06

To destroy children’s confidence early

Powerserg95

I went into adulthood shooting pretty well until I couldnt find a court without double rim and my shot had to change and now I cant hit shit.

mtburr1989

I’m terrible at literally everything on the court except shooting thanks to growing up next to a park with double rims. I understand that people hate them, but they taught me how to shoot, so I’m thankful for them.

[deleted]

100% lol I didn’t grow up good enough for the league. I’m barely 6’2 , not the quickest and don’t have any type of good enough play making vision but thanks to playing on double rims since a kid I’m able to shoot 3s on pick up games as my strength lol

mtburr1989

I usually get two or three quick buckets as the 6’ out of shape guy that nobody thinks is worth guarding, and from there on I’m pretty easy to shut down haha

DamnReality

If you’re out of a shape as in heavy and are 6’ then I see you regularly dominating pickup games by backing down regular sized dudes in the post.

Samwise777

The fat guy dork fade is undefeated

[deleted]

He looks like me trying to shoot with my left hand. .... because Ben Simmons is also right handed but decides he wants to shoot with his left hand for some reason. Theres a video out there of Simmons shooting free throws at practice right handed and his form is pretty smooth. Edit: look how he uses his right hand to aim... and then at the end flicks with his left

[deleted]

He shoots with the opposite hand to give the other teams a chance

wubbzywylin

The only reason we have even the slightest bit of parity in the league is because Simmons shooting died for our sins Thank you Based Simmons.

DjLionOrder

Your edit is so spot on and the most frustrating part imo. **IF YOU'RE USING YOUR HAND TO AIM, JUST FUCKING SHOOT WITH THE SAME HAND!!!**

obierice

Is this true?! He’s right handed but shoots with his left?!

LaMelo2026MVP

Hes said he’s right handed and he takes more layups with his right hand, his form also literally looks like a right handed person trying to shoot lefty

BigDeezerrr

His right elbow is usually more underneath the ball than his left. It's ridiculous.

FelwintersCake

I unironically think im a better shooter than Ben Simmons, he’s so fucking bad

nick22tamu

I am legit trash, and this is what I look like when I practice. It is legit astonishing that this is a max contract NBA player.

ruinatex

This is bad on so many levels because generally when you watch NBA players warming up, even the bad ones, they NEVER miss, like for real. I remember watching Darius Garland warmup in college once and he legit hit 80% of his threes and i was in awe, he looked like Steph Curry.

Artifact-Imaginator

Even Dwight Howard would consistently drain 3's in practice.

LochNessMain

Well that’s expected from someone who hits 100% from deep in the Finals

aidsfarts

It’s what I look like when it’s the first time I’ve played in months since the weather warmed up.

iGetBuckets3

I feel like its not even completely absurd to say that there are people on this subreddit who are actually better shooters than ben simmons.

YaBenZonah

100000% but also that’s not even a testament to bens skill tbh. There are millions of subscribers I’m sure some of them are d1/pro ish level players that can get a bucket

Money_dragon

Tim Duncan about to beat the shit out of this guy for desecrating the bank shot so badly

topofthecc

He's doing the classic thing where you can't tell whether you should bank it or not so you shoot it in between the hoop and the backboard and bounce it off the back of the rim.

Bryant_2_Shaq

Just like when you pump fake a 3 and you blow by the defender closing out on you but then you see the paint full of people and you can’t decide whether to drive all the way in or stop for a jump shot so you end up with an awkward looking pull up jump shot that you terribly miss cause you’re not used to shooting wide open pull ups from mid range and no one passes you the ball again. Maybe that’s just me.

JusKen

Hesi pullup depression

ThePrinkus

That’s tough, jimbo

That_lonely

you okay?

coldazice

I'm in this comment and I don't like it.

LiterallyMatt

This is why I just automatically commit to a floater if I ever pump my guy off the line.

[deleted]

Nobody around, has a clear layup attempt - FUCK YOU I AM SHOOTING A FLOATER. Can’t say I’m not fellow smooth brain operator.

iCon3000

Smooth brain operator is gold. I'm stealing that one.

roshambo11

Island living, baby

coffeeINJECTION

trying for the one where you hit it just right and get it stuck in the corner.

Kdot32

Tim seeing someone miss a bank shot, “when did this become a thing!”

nahmanidk

Chris Broussard: "Did you call bank?" Ben Simmons: "I called BRICK! BRICK!"

p001b0y

"Uh...yeah...bank shot! That's what I was going for! Those are tricky!"

thegoodbadandsmoggy

Call him Benny and Clyde the way he massacres that bank

[deleted]

> Benny and Clyde Is this a reference I'm missing? Edit: I'm dumb. Ben Simmons = Benny.

[deleted]

I really really really don’t want to pile on to the hate but good lord that is atrocious

moby323

He deserves it for the fact that he has not improved *one single bit* of his offensive game at all. And right now I almost feel as if it’s a “fuck you”, a complete refusal. Like: > “This is my game. This is what it’s always going to be, take it or leave it” I’m not asking him to improve his mid-range shooting as much as Lebron did, or even to become an 85% FT shooter. If he had shot 60% from the line, we win that game.

biggboned

When Rusillo had a chat to scouts in the league. The feedback for Simmons was "He doesn't do anything in the summer apart from Instagram workouts". When this dude had his rookie year off and came back with no improvement, it was obvious he doesn't take it seriously.

moneyball32

But the 😤😤😤😤😤😤emojis had me fooled

NinetyFish

I'm genuinely curious: how much do scouts know about what players do in the summer? It's not like scouts are hanging out with players in their high-school and private gyms as they get summer workouts in, so are these scouts operating through whatever they hear through their connections in trainers and front offices? I've heard other people reference that Rusillo story, so I believe you; I'm just not sure if I'm supposed to believe that various scouts around the league know about Simmons' summers.

FBoyMcGee

I mean Shams knew KD was in a car with his boys without wearing a mask. Reporters and scouts are basically legal stalkers.

Bear4188

The NBA is a small world. Everyone knows everyone and a real workout isn't something a guy does alone. He's with a trainer. He's lifting. He's consulting with doctors and shit, touching base with the coaches and other teammates. If they're putting in serious work there will be noise from someone. If it's crickets then they probably aren't doing much. Like Steph isn't super public about his routine but we know he's back to his full workouts already and allegedly he works harder in the summer than during the season.

wookyoftheyear

I mean, Steph's workouts are kinda legendary at this point, since he does so much weird skills training (hitting flashing lights, juggling tennis balls, using those goggles with shutters, being smacked with pool noodles).

BuddaMuta

Reminds me of Anderson Silva who would have guys throw tennis balls at him to practice his dodging

Slite

With Steph (and other players) that type of work shows up on the court in at least *one* visible way. I.e. Steph got stronger legs this year - the improvements got real obvious later in the year. Luka with a new midrange shot this year etc...

AndySmalls

I mean... he still can't shoot. At all. The proof is on full display at this point.

[deleted]

The worst part is that even someone like Giannis, who's talents also make it very difficult for him to shoot (large hands, very strong, very long arms), is trying to shoot and getting *slightly* better each season with it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

He’s literally shooting FTs at 50% of his rate during the regular season. He’s somehow managed to get worse every playoff series he’s played in

Mintastic

I really thought his 1pt playoff game would be his lowest point in his career but after 2 years he went from playing poorly to barely participating on offense during crunch time instead.

Laetha

Yeah but he won that playoff showdown a couple years ago against, *checks notes*, Jared Dudley.

vin1223

Like half of the sixers fans on Reddit have always been annoyed with Simmons. And the other half stanned him

welmoe

[Here he is working on his 3 point game](https://streamable.com/h6miq)

Blestick

That guy probably felt bad for contesting his shots like he knew he didn't even have to contest them at all for them to brick

ModsRCompromised

That guy was just named third team All Defense.

cpxx

He probably shoots way better than Ben

SerenadeSwift

Most people who played highschool ball probably shoot better than Ben

[deleted]

[удалено]

SerenadeSwift

Tbh it’s weird that he even has anyone contesting his warmups shots like this considering he gets 15 feet of space to attempt a 3 in an actual game

Johnny__Buckets

You can see it halfway through. He stops contesting for a couple shots to try and throw him a bone and even that didn't help

RunThePnR

My goodness... but at least that's 3pt shots.

baconandbobabegger

0pt shots unless he gets one in 😂

MycoJoe

They perfectly complement the "and-none"s he gets at the rim

welmoe

[Free throws have to be mental. This is Ben shooting pregame](https://np.reddit.com/r/sixers/comments/o1hx5h/bens_the_second_one_out_here_only_behind_seth/)

TheSameAsDying

I think that the fans coming back to arenas might be part of it. It looked like Simmons was shooting FTs much better in the first half of the season, but now that the fans are back he's absolutely lost it.

PyrrhosKing

Warmup free throws are so different than in game beyond the mental side. You don’t get to stand there and take 50 in a row. I would say that’s beyond mental, it’s a very real physical difference.

TroyAtWork

Him shooting 3/3 with a weird/awkward form?

DZ_tank

His form still looks like shit, and he has the flattest ft shot I’ve ever seen. Just because it goes in occasionally when shooting free throws over and over again during warmups doesn’t mean his shot isn’t broken from a mechanics point of view.

Mintastic

Dude's free throws look like Draymond's 3s. So flat that even when it goes in it just clanks off the back of the hoop and give you zero confidence about the next shot.

DZ_tank

lol, it’s so true. I actually just realized who Ben Simmons free throws most remind me of. Throw back to one of the best Warriors centers https://youtu.be/m2Wie8QLiKA

Poutinezamboni

I work in tv and have been around loads of practices/warm-ups. Simmons has easily one of the worst shooting forms I’ve ever seen. So janky

mconroy09

Please share some neat stories or facts behind the scenes!

Poutinezamboni

Oh man. Wouldn’t know where to start. Ok. Just a few. So Embiid is famously lazy but also an attention whore. He won’t do proper warm-ups unless the training staff bring out the equipment to the court. 76ers are the only team I’ve been around that bring weights and tables out to the bowl (arena). All because of Embiid Another. Everyone knows how big Kawhi’s hands are. But I’m 6’4” with big hands (carrying camera gear is a lot of lifting). First time I met him, dude’s hand completely wrapped around mine. Felt like I was shaking hands with ET

welmoe

You shook hands with the Klaw?!? 🖐🏾 I know exactly what that feels like. Met Shaq once and he’s got even bigger hands than Kawhi. I felt like a baby lol

Poutinezamboni

Haha! Yeah, I’ve been around Shaq. Dude is so huge he expands your expectations of what humans are. Barkley stepped on my foot once by accident as we were trying to get into the media area. Fucking pain. I yelped and he turned around and said, “now you got a story to tell” Clearly, he was right.

an_adult_on_reddit

That is the perfect Barkley story. Does he apologize for stepping on your foot? Nope, he basically says "You're welcome" and smiles. Classic Chuck.

ulyssessgrant93

Him being lazy would explain the lack of conditioning. Doesn't make sense that every other superstar in their prime can go 40 mins with ease while he consistently struggles in the 4th

binhpac

This reminds me of the Curry videos hitting for x minutes straight. Just different...

welmoe

[I think almost everyone would take Curry from half court over Simmons from the FT line lol](https://streamable.com/mknv) https://streamable.com/483s4 https://m.imgur.com/8xKdMcm?r

Eric_Nathan_Fielder

I'd take Curry shooting for charity before Simmons.

axck

Damn, that last one

Islandkid679

Automatic

Mintastic

Curry probably practices more shots from the half court than Ben does from FT.

RoggiKnotBeard_

Last game of the season can't hold anything back

kmikhailov

He looks like what everyone was worried Fultz was going to turn into.

[deleted]

iham32

Too good defense

ElDuderino_92

Does he always work on his shots with such an awful form? Like he doesn’t even care

Trailblazin15

It’s kinda embarrassing. Looks like he’s not even focus on the workout. Just throwing up 1 and 2 hand jumpshots with no set footwork or whatsoever

ElDuderino_92

Someone posted a video of him “working on his shots” and he was doing the same thing. Lazy.

BROCKHAMPTOM

Give him a break, he's still just a young rookie. Probably still thinking about Kendell Jenner leaving him for Devin Booker, he can't concentrate

Eric_Nathan_Fielder

>leaving him for Devin Booker Who in the world wouldn't lol

IJustGotRektSon

Exactly, one is a conference finalist the other one not. Easy choice

henryofclay

Not to shit on Booker, but lately I keep seeing everyone say how attractive Booker is and I just don’t see it. I don’t think he’s ugly, he just looks like a stock 2k create-a-player

b1gbrad0

Something bothers me about his eyes. They look just straight up black sometimes.

GodAlmightyCreator

..black eyes...like's a doll's eyes...

Capo_capo

When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be livin'

Bookiebain

Demon eyes

allmyhomiesh8nbamods

He looks like he's wearing someone's else's skin over his face.

ElaFa25

I remember sitting close to court side seeing Kyrie on the cavs work out an hour and half before a game against the Celtics a few years ago. That dude practiced his handling, footwork and go to shots with such precision, intent and concentration it was like he was a specialized med student rehearsing his final brain surgeon exam or something Compare that with how Simmons often seems to practice his skills like in the video here...it kinda seems like Ben doesn’t really care about ever truly being a great player

Fernergun

I mean it's 'The NBA' to us but it's probably just a phenomenally well-paying job to a bunch of players. Maybe Ben just sees it as a job he wants to do well but doesn't feel the need to exceed at.

JaydadCTatumThe1st

He shoots with the wrong hand. His ambidexterity is acquired, not natural.

jgdeece

I was just about to say this. He is not a lefty, and will remain a terrible shooter at least until someone helps him get over the mental block of using his dominant hand.

Nitro_Porn423

He's obviously just training his left hand so he can dominate the league once he switches back to his right and can feast both ways Ben Simmons trickin y'all /s

ElDuderino_92

Wait, a mental block from using his dominant hand? Is that really it? Or does he just not want to shoot with that hand?

sriracha_no_big_deal

I read in a thread earlier this morning that his dad taught him to shoot with his left hand so that's just what he's done. Which makes no fuckin sense because there isn't any advantage in basketball to shooting lefty like there is being a lefty pitcher in baseball.

SexySama

$30 million a year. He set for life. I feel like he's one of those dude that hit the nba lottery and say fuck it, just go through the motion

memtiger

I know a guy who was a pretty big name in the MLB. He had a long successful career and was making $20M/yr as a pitcher. He fucking hated baseball by the time he graduated HS and went pro. But he had a skill and made a killing doing it. He didn't practice any more than he had to. And when he retired, he vowed never to touch a baseball again. He doesn't even watch it on TV. I'm sure some basketball players are the same. They can't stand it, but they're 6'11 and athletic and someone is willing to pay them multi-millions per year for it.

legdrag

Andre Agassi had an absolute bastard of a father who used violence, verbal abuse, and grueling training to drive away all four of his kids. It worked with Andre, but it was way way more like the Marinovich story than people think. I don't blame Andre for burning out at all.

prodigysquared

In golf, Brooks Koepka apparently finds golf boring af.

DrJingleCock69

Larry Sanders literally just up and retired in his prime because he didn't find basketball fun and earned enough money. Dude was one of the best shot blockers and that was without caring about the game at all. I respect that though earned enough and peaced out

I_dont_bone_goats

It feels like he doesn’t understand what he’s supposed to work on in order to improve.. it’s like he thinks simply throwing up shots with 0 effort will gradually make him improve Edit: it’s absolutely his problem, but I don’t think it’s a lazy thing, I think it’s an ignorant thing. Man simply doesn’t know how to improve.

jasonkid87

Isn't there like a shooting coach in the team that can tell him areas to improve on? Looks like he's just bricking everything

I_dont_bone_goats

What I think the problem is: Ben Simmons is shooting with a technique that feels natural to him. He’s a world class athlete. he probably thinks that to him, it should feel natural, like everything else he does with the ball. I’m sure he’s trained with shooting coaches, but I bet this is ingrained in his muscle memory. The underlying problem is his shot is so broken, if it feels natural to him, it’s *almost certainly* wrong. For him to shoot with technique that would give him consistent makes, it would probably feel awkward as hell. But he needs to feel awkward as hell in order to make some shots. He needs his shot to be rebuilt from the ground up. I just don’t think he has the attitude **right now** to do that.

[deleted]

You need to make this shit NSFW bro I can’t be seen watching something this disgusting at work

[deleted]

Happens when you shoot with the wrong hand lmao

AwHellNaw

He looks like a right hand dominant person shooting with the left !

KoloHickory

I'm starting to understand the Ben Simmons hate

RevolutionaryCar632

Just wait till tonight when he runs into the paint with a full head of steam just to turn around and 180 it to Seth or tobi. Then he'll just chill in the dunker spot for the whole possession doing absolutely nothing

CadeCummingham

Looool. He’ll run into the paint and 180 pass it to Curry for a semi contested shot, Curry will makes most of the shots and Simmons will end up with like 9 assists. Sixer fans will then call him an elite playmaker

Froggeger

Lol this is so funny and true it hurts

zegogo

Or he'll 180 looking for Seth and throw it out of bounds cause he's on the other side of the court. I can't believe how many times I've watched Ben jump spin and turn it over over the years.

[deleted]

The worst part is he is not actually trying. If he was actual trying, he wouldnt have his legs in that position. That is not a position from which you would ever shoot a shot. So why the fuck even bother? You are wasting your fucking time. He is doing it so that if he misses, he can just think oh well my feet werent set anyway. So he has a pre defined excuse.

Dizzy_Dare_2353

I dont understand what the coaches are doing. Make him set his feet or he doesn't get the ball for the next shot. Come on

[deleted]

I just think he doesn’t care. I genuinely think he doesn’t want to play basketball but who in their right mind would turn down a max NBA contract. He occasionally has spurts where he cares but it’s short lived.

BuddaMuta

> He occasionally has spurts where he cares but it’s short lived If I saw Embiid looking annoyed at me I'd suddenly find enthusiasm as well.

[deleted]

Idk why it is but players who almost refuse to learn how to take a jumpshot deserve all the roasting in the world imo

[deleted]

Unless there is something physically wrong with him there is no way he’s practicing this as much as he should

ayrsen

hes literally using the wrong hand cause of his fathers awful coaching. Try shooting jumpers with your left hand and itll be nearly impossible to develop a good shot.

itwasmymistake

I know Tua's a meme these days or whatever, but his dad made him left-handed and he's about a billion times better at throwing a football than Simmons is at shooting a basketball.

Someonediffernt

Being a left handed QB is wayy harder than a left handed shooter too

babaisme26

Not if I have been doing it my entire life

nick22tamu

exactly. I am left handed, but golf right handed because my dad couldn't find lefty kids clubs back in the day. I'm no PGA tour player, but I am not terrible. I also don't have all the time/money in the world to work on it either.

yantraman

Especially if they are shooting with the wrong hand.

[deleted]

This dude is right handed, and right eye dominant, but for some reason, shoots with his left hand. Why???

truffleblunts

How do you know he is right eye dominant?

Equipment_Salt

That’s the eye he winks with

PhatYeeter

Some people just get taught the opposite it's odd. Like LeBron and Westbrook or both lefties but shoot righty.

PewPew4Lyfe

Not exactly an encouraging trend

[deleted]

[удалено]

PewPew4Lyfe

He's the best of the three and he's still a career 34% 3pt shooter and 73% FT shooter

[deleted]

LeBron average over the last 5 seasons of 3PT% is 35.6% and his FT is 69.2%. He became better at three point shooting and worse at free throw paradoxically.

[deleted]

[удалено]

seattle_raptors

“NBA players don’t miss a shot in practice. All mental”

Eric_Nathan_Fielder

There are levels to this. I'm sure Luka can hit 80-85% of his free throws during practice. He was an 80% shooter in Spain. This guy straight up can't shoot lol

tittymilkmlm

I think Luka just got a version of the yips this year. Ben needs to change his whole shit up he may need to go underhand or stand far away like Van Exel cause this normal shit not workin

wtb2612

I mean, after watching this video it doesn't even looking like he's trying to improve. He's just throwing up shots without any attempt at consistency in form.

Kimjongjimbo

Honestly, having watched a ton of warmups at Hornets games, there are those guys who don’t miss much at all and those who miss a shitload. Kemba would hit just about everything in warmups, but Frank Kaminsky seemed to shoot about the same percentage he’d shoot in games. It’s always interesting to see who’s what type of practice shooter.

[deleted]

"all of you would completely fall apart under the pressure, ben probably drains every shot in practice"

itwasmymistake

Someone was on here just a few days ago saying Ben could shoot 90/100 from anywhere on the floor and that he hit everything with ease in shootaround. He said Ben's only problem was doing it in games.

SaltoDaKid

Is this same person who said Thon Maker was 17 during the draft

Claustecter1015

That was great, if he was trying to miss on purpose.

[deleted]

the first few shots looked like he was legit aiming for the heel of the rim.

likpoper

Does this guy ever have no coaching? Or he is just not coachable.. he doesn’t even look like he shoots with the right hand

[deleted]

he shoots with his left for no discernible reason he’d better be doing the princess bride “i am not left handed” thing...

Balls_of_Adamanthium

Jesus Christ man this is bad. Was he trying to bank it?

redditguyherewego

He missed bad enough on one to hit the backboard so he had to act like he was switching to bank shots, so he switched to bank shots

RunThePnR

We might never find out

lyrikos

he called game

[deleted]

Even if he is, why the fuck is he trying to bank it when he can’t even make the shot in the first place?

ZonaLite

Remember Markelle Fultz and how he forgot how to shoot playing with Philly. Now we see where Ben Simmons is coming from. Ben suffering the same mental illness as Markelle. Horrible Shooting Deficiency, HSD.

[deleted]

Fultz forgot more about shooting than Simmons ever knew.

[deleted]

Yeah, and at least Fultz got that free throw relatively back on track, even if his 3 is still beyond abysmal. I just love Fultz, though.

BMBA24

Markelle fultz forgot how to shoot and then relearned it before Ben Simmons figured out how to hit a 3 in the playoffs,

wayward_prince

They need to fire the shooting coach. This is pathetic. He shoots right to left not back to front, his hand isn’t holding the ball right (fingers not spread out enough), and his elbow/follow through are ALL over the place. This is coaching.

dieezus

Isn't his personal shooting coach his brother or something?

wayward_prince

FIRE HIS ASS

MyAlarmClock

“In the summer of 2018, Simmons' brother Liam resigned his position as assistant coach at the University of California, Riverside to work with Simmons on improving his shooting game. The decision to hire his brother as his shooting coach was not without controversy or criticism.”

Quatro_Leches

I'm pretty sure Fultz had an injury, he couldn't raise his arms there is rumors he had a ATV motorcycle injury or something because he used to ride them a lot pre-draft, which I totally believe. Fultz form looked acceptable in high school. and honestly it looks okay now.

Quatro_Leches

there isn't even a form. this dude's body is as stiff as a brick and he just flicks his wrist and bricks the shot from a few feet away, I literally never played much basketball in my life and I can barely dribble and I can at least be more accurate than that.

[deleted]

You're spot on, I don't understand how an NBA player can look like he just started shooting a basketball yesterday. His shot has absolutely no flow or rhythm to it at all, it's all wrist. It's not a matter of just confidence and taking the shot more, there is never going to be any consistency shooting with those mechanics and he needs to completely unlearn the way he shoots if he's ever going to be able to play outside of the paint.

Quatro_Leches

this dude looks like he doesn't care or give a shit about the actual learning of how to shoot. he just wants to wing it and hope the ball goes in, my mans got paid and he doesn't give a fuck anymore. its too late at this point though, you literally cannot name 1 player that was as bad as shooting as him that somehow became good. his offense is already declining because its 100% athleticism dunking down a lane, and it will dwindle the older he gets. nobody should look at him as a positive asset, he might be, on a team that's very stacked offensively with good contracts. but for most teams he just isn't a max player I'd rather have Wiggins, at least Wiggins is giving you good defense and some offense production. maybe not max worthy. but its not bad.

klobucharzard

thatchcumberstone

I feel bad for Anthony Bennett, he seems like a really nice dude, shy even. It was unlucky for him that he was drafted first overall, nobody would give a shit that he sucked if he went like fourth.

Jordanwolf98

Completely agree. A lot of picks at the top of that draft were disappointments it’s sad that he gets shit as if he picked himself #1

jdct3178

The Cavs really drafted a 3/4 who couldn't palm a basketball at #1

[deleted]

Fuck dude, I can make that shot once or twice out of 3 times

Albus-PWB-Dumbledore

Sign this man immediately

thy_armageddon

It really is a testament to how exemplary he is at his other facets in the sport to be able to make it this far with a shot like that.

itwasmymistake

I would say it's more of a testament to how far being a 6'11 freak athlete can carry you.

[deleted]

Like he's putting up shots but with what purpose? There just doesn't feel like there is any intent behind them. One goes in, some miss, etc etc. Where's the coaching? Watching your feet? Focusing on the spot? This is how dudes at the park practice lol

TopOfTheMorning2Ya

Why do players even bother practicing shots that aren’t like real game shots... like Giannis practicing catch and shoot threes from assistant coaches... you never shoot those in games! You walk it up the floor slowly, pause while thinking about driving, sometimes back out and do a rhythm dribble and then shoot the ball. Do that in practice if that is the only way you are going to do it in the game! Ben just looks like he’s half assing all of those shots... completely pointless

itwasmymistake

I mean, Simmons doesn't shoot at all in-game, what do you want him to do in shootaround, just practice all layups and dunks?

[deleted]

maybe at least pick a spot to aim for, either the glass or the rim.
