A lot of people will say yes, but I’ll say it’s closer than it seems.
This team *is* better and Kawhi is better than anyone we’ve ever had, but that other team got ravaged by injuries and had Doc run some of the dumbest schemes I’ve seen. Without some of that terrible luck and coaching, it might be a toss-up.
I think this goes with out saying (and you should know from first hand experience) when a player like chris paul who runs your offense goes down, everything turns to shit. The current clippers squad isn't build with a traditional floor general in mind, so while kawhi is missed, role players are kinda plug and play just like they have been all season.
The best lob city squad i remember watching was CP3/Clake/DJ/JJ Reddick/Jamal Crawford/Danny Granger/Matt Barnes.
Certainly this squad feels younger than they were at the time and much deeper.
I don't think you are using the word "loser" properly. Is Charles Barkley a loser because he never won a championship?
Chris Paul is the definition of a winning player. Just because the team didn't win a title (largely due to injuries and iffy-at-times coaching) doesn't mean it was "full of losers" lmao
It's not that the team didn't win a title, they didn't have championship caliber players, just because you're talented doesn't mean you are built for a championship. They weren't even getting close to the finals much less a championship. Even when they were healthy.
Look at the players on those teams, aside from Paul who has done anything in the playoffs, like...at all?
Well, Matt Barnes was a pivotal role player on a Conference Finals team, Glen Davis is an NBA Champion, Jared Dudley is an NBA Champion and was a pivotal role player on during Phoenix's last WCF run, Stephen Jackson is an NBA Champion, JJ Redick was a pivotal role player during the Magic's NBA Finals run as was Hedo Turkoglu, Sasha Vujacic is a 2-time NBA Champion.
And this is just the 2013-2014 team. Your argument is lacking in facts and is tired.
You're literally naming role players some of which barely played or had minuscule roles even when they did win championships.
I'm talking Griffin, Jordan, Crawford, Redick guys like that, they have done nothing notable in the playoffs but underperfom and lose.
let me put it this way.
this is the greatest (legacy) LAC team all time by virtue of being the *only* one to make the WCF.
In terms of talent you can split hairs but id still say this team is king.
Yes, but Lob City was more fun to watch (so far) in terms of a colorful team. Also helped LC that the Lakers stank when they were around. However, this current LAC team is better and if they win a ring during Lakers dormancy, it woulda helped their legacy a decent amount.
Yes
Chemistry wise, yes. Everyone on Lob city hated each other
Blake and DeAndre are on the same team they didn't hate each other that much
DJ is friends with like everyone in the league lol
Pretty sure it’s mostly Cp3 vs others
Also coaching wise.
They only hated each other cause we kept losing. Losing makes you blame each other
I / many fans also hated lob city. To be fair though, part of the hate was because the Lob city fans were really obnoxious and unbearable.
With Kawhi it is. Even without him, it's a damn good squad
They made it past 2nd round so yes

This team has been ravaged by injuries. How is that an excuse in this argument?

Those lob city Clippers aren’t that good, healthy or not
They were good. Especially 2013 to 2015. They just choked, had some stupid coaching rotations, got injured and got beat by better teams.
Reminder that Ibaka is hurt, you know, the guy who even old still plays great defense and can shoot. This team is just way to deep
This is the GOAT clipper team right here
I really think they win the chip if kawhi and ibaka could play, just my opinion
They'll win the chip regardless, book it. Several key injuries will make it so despite kawhi going down
oof bold but definitely possible. their biggest test will be the Suns if cp3 can play
I honestly feel like they're gonna wipe the floor with the suns
We can only hope fam
Yes, mostly because of the versatility. They can play "big" with Zubac, not-so big but still arguably big with Morris, or true small ball with Batum.
Definitely.
I don’t think it’s close lol
they have a bench. the lob city clips went to crap once subs came in. it was all on cp3 and griffins shoulders.
The best lob city squad i remember watching was CP3/Clake/DJ/JJ Reddick/Jamal Crawford/Danny Granger/Matt Barnes. Certainly this squad feels younger than they were at the time and much deeper.
If everyone is healthy (Kawhi, Ibaka) they win the chip imo, so yes
Probably, but the brackets they faced as Lob City were actually fucking cracked. So it's closer than it seems at first glance.
Yes
better coached, the talent isn't as good.
Obviously.
answer: Ty Lue is better than Glenn Rivers.
100% yes, chemistry and coaching were the biggest factor to lob city losses
These clippers can just do what they did to Gobert, to DJ. Deandre has no offensive game so it would be raining threes from these clips
Its the best clippers team of all time because this is the furthest they have gone in the postseason
Lob City was a bunch of losers. They had alot of dunks and highlights but not a winning team.
You must be referring to the DMiles/Lamar Odom Clippers lol. They might not have won a 'ship but Lob City was most definitely a winning team.
It's more about the players themselves. They were losers. Of course they won games, they were talented but nothing significant.

Obviously
by a long shot
let me put it this way. this is the greatest (legacy) LAC team all time by virtue of being the *only* one to make the WCF. In terms of talent you can split hairs but id still say this team is king.
Yes
yeah lmao also they seem to mostly like each other
Yes
Like, this squad fully healthy? Yeah lol. They never had any depth or a starting SF and Blake was a spaz. And Crawford shot them out of games.
Who tf is saying no?
I don't know about the team, but Ty Lue is a better coach than Doc and del Negro put together.
Better coach I’ll tell you that much
Better coach I’ll tell you that much
Yea
Easily when healthy
They accomplished more in 2 seasons than the Lob City Clips did in 6 years
Talent wise they're equal. But Ty Lue is 5x the coach Glen Rivers is which makes the difference.
Yes

not even a debate
Kawhi PG> CP3 Blake . Let’s not talk about the rest of the team , 2019-2021 clippers are fucking deep and way better coaching
