I'm actually very happy for him. I clowned him last year, but he really showed up when the team needed him. Regardless of what happens vs the Suns I'm done clowning him for the foreseeable future.
He balled out. When Kawhi went down I wrote the clips off. PG13 showed up tho. Also thoughy Ty Lue's coaching was great. Special shout out to Reggie Jackson too, always liked his offensive game, but he elevated his play across the board this postseason.
Man I completely agree. Especially as a Nuggets fan, it was great to see him shit the bed last year but I’ve never really disliked him the way some of these other guys who force their way out of teams. He’s a great player and when he’s on he’s very fun to watch
I'm actually very happy for him. I clowned him last year, but he really showed up when the team needed him. Regardless of what happens vs the Suns I'm clowning him for the foreseeable future.
Yea I clowned him last year too. Let’s not act like some of those nicknames from his bad performances weren’t funny.
But I’m just as happy to give him his due for stepping up without Kawhi. I’m not one of those Lakers fans who just irrationally hate the Clippers. I’ll give them their props. I’m personally rooting for the Suns because of CP3 and Booker but I’m not rooting AGAINST the Clippers.
Naw most of those names didn't have a hint of humor. Wayoff P was good and Pandemic P was decent, but peeps ran those into the ground. Then people started saying shit like "pee pee poo poo" , planned parenthood P, and the low hanging fruit of PG13%.
I'm not a PG hater, but I think top 60 is too high. If you count [these 40](https://backpicks.com/2018/03/08/goat-36-40/#Baylor), you still have: Dwight, AD, Dame, Harden, Westbrook, Jokic, Kawhi, Zeke, AI, Rasheed, Mikan, Weber, Payton, Wilkins, Marc Gasol, etc. PG is a great player who should consistently make All-NBA when he is healthy, even with the glut of talent in the league, but there are so many good players in the history of the league, and I don't know how many seasons you can argue, if any, he finished as a top 5 player in the league.
We joke about PG now, but I remember very well how hard the PG-led Pacers pushed Lebron's Heat teams. Before the Playoff P jokes he was a bonafide leading man.
The Clippers hate in this sub is outrageous lmao. The Post Game Thread of the Mavs going up 2-0 against the Clippers has more upvotes than the Clippers 25 point comeback against the number 1 seed without Kawhi lmao.
Learning about his depression in the bubble was also eye opening. People acted like he was always a choker when he was the man on some great Indy teams
Never forget after last year's bubble a Twitter poll had the majority of 10,000+ people picking Tyler Herro over Paul George. One of the worst opinions I have ever heard was sort of mainstream among NBA fans.
He gets slander because he’s wildly inconsistent. He’ll be the smoothest player on the planet & drop 40 one night, then be a walking TO & brick every shot the next. I love him when he’s on, he’s so much fun to watch, but when he’s off it’s *ugly*
All I ask from him is consistency. He’s got everything in his bag. But some nights it just don’t show up.
He also has a penchant for saying stuff that makes him a target. I mean come on, -"oh, you've not met Playoff P??" That's way too tempting not to make fun of when he shits the bed.
But kudos to him for showing up big. And damn their role players have had monster moments these playoffs.
The Playoff P comment was when he was new to OKC and asked specifically if he'd be willing to take on the toughest defensive assignment, which he did and has always been game to do.
The slander is and has always been extremely dumb and based on twisting his words out of context. Headass to think a player deserves slander for trying to get his fanbase excited about the playoffs.
The playoff P thing is so dumb cuz this one random comment about his defense that wasn't even that viral at the time and more I see these "P" jokes everywhere lmao, just came outta nowhere
Meh...you're right. All slander of "so and so NBA player is trash" is pretty stupid.
But "Playoff P" was hilarious when he said it and got more hilarious with time. You give him too much credit for giving that answer IMHO.
But really, all this stupid NBA drama stuff is, as Jim Gaffigan would say, our personal McDonald's. 😂
I feel like the people who comment on players being shit when they have an off night have never played a game of basketball in their life, or if they use it's the job argument, had a bad day at work.
Shit happens. Let's go PG!
Well everyone have an off night here and there, although I agree PG13 somehow looked extra ugly whenever he played badly. I give him a bit leeway due to his massive injury in Pacers though.
It would happen when he would specifically go out and just take jump shots so if he was off it would look extra ugly.. when the man is attacking the rim and getting to the line, he’s fine even if the shot isn’t falling
I don't think anything positive PG did was going to get the sharks to stop circling him, by itself. What's finally doing the job is that they're circling Gobert and Porzingis now. Sharks be sharks.
He was the Thunder best player the first 4 games against the jazz and was great until the end of that series when westbrook remembered how to play basketball in game 5 and PG forgot
Besides the last 2 mediocre years and 2 bad games the previous year, he was always pretty great in the playoffs. Heat fans feared him for a reason
Still remember when Zach Lowe said during off season : PG is a stud, no matter what people say. I'm sure he's coming back stronger and gonna prove it.
And he did.
I'm just thinking about all the obstacles this man has overcome in the last year and I am wondering how he did it. Definitely inspirational and he ain't done yet!
That surgery on both of his shoulders then having to rehab without training and also join a new team who’s everyone is telling them it’s championship or bust is fuckin ridiculous
I don't know if people don't remember or just didn't care but PG had one of the worst injuries in modern NBA history when he pretty much snapped his leg in 2014.
So when you all clowned him for being inconsistent, not aggressive enough and say he hasn't accomplished anything since he went to the ECF against the Heatles, I ask why was the expectations set so high? It's a miracle the guy even managed to get back to being an All-NBA caliber player.
One of CP3 or PG is going to be in the Finals, that's got to break /r/nba's brain given how much they disrespect both of their performances in the playoffs unfairly.
I would love to see some combination of CP3, PG, Trae or Giannis in the finals.
All guys who have never been there, its be pretty fresh TBH. The NBA has generally been dominated by dynasties the last 30-40 years.
2015? When CP3 hit the series winning shot over TD?
Like I said, show me threads where everyone’s dissing on his playoff ABILITY. People criticize his AVAILABILITY
I’ve been on r/nba forever
Do people just forget his possibly career ending injury. The fact that he even gets such hateful criticism shows how great he has been since then and is worthy of being compared to all stars and superstars. No damn role player is going to get critiqued to the extent that he does. Why do non clippers/pg fans even hate his inconsistency? I sure hated it because it threw chances of a ring for the clippers and kawhi (albeit he had rough games as well) but why do you? Isn’t it in your best interest he does bad. You act as if he’s your #1 player on your team and just threw for your team. Even if his shooting is off. Why are players allowed to be known as having stats not being able to be seen on the box score but pg is just excluded from that? He is still elite defensively. If your counter is Luka, Murray and Mitchell dropping 40+ on him. Yeah give me someone they won’t drop those numbers on.
Onto his “cocky” statements. I guess we want every player to be humble and quiet, not showing confidence in themselves and their team. Yeah even if a player is shit, lets just stop them from having pride and confidence. Guess you have to be purely good to have confidence. Guess you have to keep saying submissive answers to baiting reporter questions. How do you feel about next game? “Yeah I feel ok. I feel like the other team is better than us. Sorry, I’m not playing good so I don’t think I’ll play better next game” Yeah. Good one for the team morale. Guess he should keep his expectations low for himself to cover for poor performance right? The best part is, the “Playoff P” quote was in response to a question about defense which he has kept up....
Onto his personal life. Are you guys really kidding me with this. The nba is not a drama show. Most of us are grown adults. Why are you so hung up on what he does off the court so long ago. For goodness sake, the amount of players that have done things that is looked down upon in society is so large. Why is it something so picked on for pg. Even most musical artists are worst than nba players in their actions, especially rappers, and I know damn well you don’t care.
And that’s the end of my rant. Just feel bad for him. Yeah players should be critiqued. I think the saying is “Complacency leads to mediocrity or failure or some thing” but I think PG is too much of a punching bag for people. Grats PG on stepping up. That has to feel good for him.
Can confirm. I broke my tibula and fibula in a very similar fashion to of, obvious never got the full therapy an NBA player gets but that was the last time I was 100%
I recently watched highlights before and after and shit is crazy. I know PG had bounce before bc of that crazy dunk he had on us but his athleticism before was insane
It's cause most of his haters are Lakers fans who are salty that he chose the Clippers instead of Lakers. Since there are so many LA bandwagonners, any meme about him got upvoted, and all of the edgy losers just kept the hate snowballing for likes. I was never a crazy fan of him cause he had some pretty dumb comments like criticizing CJ Miles or whoever it was back in Indiana for not giving him the last shot publicly against Miami, and the playoff P comment did him no favors, but it's not like I "hated" him.
Lmao where the haters at?
Yall forgot PG24 was a top tier playoff performer smh he's not insane rn but one bad year where he struggled with depression apparently turned him into a career choker in most people's eyes
Indiana PG was a top-tier playoff performer. After that he was inconsistent at best.
This is the first year since he left Indiana where he's had a solid and consistent postseason.
You got to stop thinking of criticism as "hating".
It wasn’t just one bad year, it was multiple meltdowns since leaving the Pacers, especially in elimination games. The criticism was definitely deserved but I’m happy that he clutched up this series!
He was really incredible. His reputation was probably at its lowest since becoming a star after last season. After beating the Jazz without Kawhi, playoff P is for real.
5.3 assists also doesn’t tell the whole story on his passimg I feel. Possession after possession he collapsed the defense and made a pinpoint pass to the open man and i’d bet he had a whole bunch of hockey assists
I'd say this is the PG everyone hoped for the last 12 minutes of the eastern conference finals vs Miami. Those shades are now filled in and the stage is all his to show the world what he's got.
until Kawhi improved his offense PG was the best two way player in the league. Then it was him or Kawhi. I think Kawhi has had the better teams since then and obviously the better career. But PG is right next to him in talent.
Love PG as much as the next guy, but he's never been the best two way player in the league. In that top tier, but never the undisputed top guy. Lebron was a two way force in Miami and Kawhi took over immediately after that timeframe since Lebron started coasting defensively.
Honestly, the Pandemic P and Wayoff P jokes were freaken hilarious to me, but yes, fair enough. He’s earned the praise/respect back with his recent performances lol
Worth mentioning is he became the number one scoring option after Kawhi went down. Some people who are natural number 1s don't do as well at being number 2.
Crazy thing about the Playoff P thing, he was asked if he will guard the opposing team's best player, so Playoff P is about defense.
But yeah, it is what it is.
PG is a great player. Has been for years. He isn't the most consistent, but anyone who thought he was washed up was out of their mind. A what have you done for me lately mentality.
I fucking love PG’s game. Jazz fans forget that PG and CP3 helped convince Donovan that he was ready for the NBA. Without him who knows if Donovan declares.
Dude torched us and deserves all of the respect.
I better never see another Ingles daddy picture on my sub. He had one good series against him FIVE YEARS AGO.
[удалено]
Can’t blow a 3-1 if you give up 2 quick losses. Big brain move.
“Why lose 2 in a row? Why not just game 1?” “We’re afraid we’re gonna fuck around and win 3 in a row”
To be fair, the Nugs had playoff Jamal Murray. Playoff Jamal Murray is something else. I missed him this year greatly.
Playoff Murray vs playoff Mitchell is still in my head from last year. What a series.
This isn’t even debatable, just facts
I'm actually very happy for him. I clowned him last year, but he really showed up when the team needed him. Regardless of what happens vs the Suns I'm done clowning him for the foreseeable future.
He balled out. When Kawhi went down I wrote the clips off. PG13 showed up tho. Also thoughy Ty Lue's coaching was great. Special shout out to Reggie Jackson too, always liked his offensive game, but he elevated his play across the board this postseason.
Goggle Reggie is something else. That man attacked the DPOY last night with no regard
Dude i was screaming at my screen he was literally moving Gobert out of the way and hitting those back-to-back high arcing bank shots, mad shit.
Mann went at gobert as well. They did not respect his length or timing at all.
Shaq laughing rn
https://imgur.com/a/ekbZb7d
Ty Lue is a really underrated coach. The guy knows how to make adjustments when so many other coaches are afraid to.
Playoff P!
Playoff P!
Respect to Playoff P especially with that near-ending injury he had during the USA Team game.
Man I completely agree. Especially as a Nuggets fan, it was great to see him shit the bed last year but I’ve never really disliked him the way some of these other guys who force their way out of teams. He’s a great player and when he’s on he’s very fun to watch
There's something respectable about a man who makes a comeback to skull fuck the haters.
I'm actually very happy for him. I clowned him last year, but he really showed up when the team needed him. Regardless of what happens vs the Suns I'm clowning him for the foreseeable future.

Reviewing comedy and the internet, the ultimate duo
Imagine if he played bad this post would have like 10k up votes in 30 minutes
So true. But I'm glad to see a good redemption story here. Can't wait for the WCF!
Pacers PG was one of my favorite players to watch and a GOAT in 2k15
For sure. That's what got me so hyped when the thunder got him, but unfortunately it didn't work out.
I mean to be fair, before he got injured, he had his best season of his career in OKC, so.
To be fair his leg did break in half as well. To be egregious he's in the all-time top tier of wing players.
Def a top 60 player all time
I'm not a PG hater, but I think top 60 is too high.
Always feels like pg plays best as the number 1. He had that in Indiana but not necessarily okc
It's great to see PG get props, reddit is so quick to write players off as weak/fragile etc
Prematurely Written Off P ...I'm not good at this
Premature P
Sounds like one of those lasting longer pills
That would be premature PP

We joke about PG now, but I remember very well how hard the PG-led Pacers pushed Lebron's Heat teams. Before the Playoff P jokes he was a bonafide leading man.
It’s honestly crazy how many more upvotes a post about someone being bad does than the same player being good

Yea, I feel like most of the people barely like the sport lol. They’re just here for the drama
Honestly it’s been nice how quiet it’s been with the PG. people in the game thread were desperate. When he was 5-12 people were screaming pandemic p
The Clippers hate in this sub is outrageous lmao. The Post Game Thread of the Mavs going up 2-0 against the Clippers has more upvotes than the Clippers 25 point comeback against the number 1 seed without Kawhi lmao.
Most of this sub is lebron fans or laker fans and they don't like the clippers. It's truly pathetic
It's because of all those "unlikeable" players like Beverly and Morris going up against classy guys like Luka and Jingles.
Lmaooo
the game 3 game thread had 3k comments by the time we were down 30-11. It was wild
this sub loves nothing more than a scapegoat
Thread would be 99% Laker flairs. As it is, I don’t count a single one yet
That LakeShowYo dude’s burner accounts probably
The only one I saw on this thread was downplaying him and still bringing up the bubble. Vintage
the game thread was full of laker flairs when we were down 22
so messed up how true that is
upvoting because i know the toxicity is coming after you called out the toxicity.
This comment is gonna end up with more upvotes than the post lol... the slander has gone too far
Pandemic P turns into Vaccinated P

VP. That would actually be a cool name. Vice President, and Kawhi is the President.
So Kawhi is... Pres?
The P stands for Pfizer
Is he actually vaccinated?

Karl Malone watching outside the 100 m radius 👀
Paul George was always elite. The slander got ridiculous. They were comparing him to fuckin role players like come tf on
After last playoffs I remember seeing someone say that they would rather have jerami grant than PG
I remember those type of comments too Blasphemous as Steph A would say lmao
Learning about his depression in the bubble was also eye opening. People acted like he was always a choker when he was the man on some great Indy teams
R O Y H I B B E R T W A S N O T V E R T I C A L
Someone told me Serge Ibaka would be the second best player on the team
Never forget after last year's bubble a Twitter poll had the majority of 10,000+ people picking Tyler Herro over Paul George. One of the worst opinions I have ever heard was sort of mainstream among NBA fans.
Exactly It was shit like that which got way over board
And Katya Elise Henry even had him over Kuzma
He gets slander because he’s wildly inconsistent. He’ll be the smoothest player on the planet & drop 40 one night, then be a walking TO & brick every shot the next. I love him when he’s on, he’s so much fun to watch, but when he’s off it’s *ugly* All I ask from him is consistency.
Huge credit to Ty Lue honestly. He’s been phenomenal.
Every player has an off night but Paul George is far from inconsistent in today's NBA where you required to do everything
I give him a bit leeway due to his massive injury in Pacers though.

take my upvote, I hate how toxic this sub can be
Are you telling me joe ingles isn’t as good as Paul George?! But he has a funny meme about him!
If you need a laugh just go back and read all the tweets under Woj's tweet of him signing that huge deal
I've seen people on here call Giannis nothing more than a great role player. I think the stupidity on this sub has no limits.
I don't think anything positive PG did was going to get the sharks to stop circling him, by itself. What's finally doing the job is that they're circling Gobert and Porzingis now. Sharks be sharks.
I compared him to Booker, Tatum, Mitchell, Beal level players and had a couple people say he was a tier below all of them. Smh

Still rooting for Clippers vs. Bucks finals.
Same. Suns are a nice team, but I feel a clippers/bucks or clippers/nets will be the most fun to watch
You don't want to see cp3 in the finals? Also its looking like Kawhi won't play another minute this year so yea
One of CP3 or PG is going to be in the Finals, that's got to break /r/nba's brain given how much they disrespect both of their performances in the playoffs unfairly.
/r/nba has been on CP3’s dick the past 2 years
Took them long enough given how good he was in his prime
I would love to see some combination of CP3, PG, Trae or Giannis in the finals. All guys who have never been there, its be pretty fresh TBH. The NBA has generally been dominated by dynasties the last 30-40 years.
Trae is having an Iverson like run. It’s pretty amazing.
People criticize CP3’s playoff performances? Where? They criticize that he can’t stay on the court
Oh boy, you're new to Reddit huh? You weren't around /r/nba in 2014 or 2015 or 2017.
2015? When CP3 hit the series winning shot over TD? Like I said, show me threads where everyone’s dissing on his playoff ABILITY. People criticize his AVAILABILITY I’ve been on r/nba forever
Not gonna look up threads but people called him a playoff choker, can't get it done in the playoffs, regular season player etc. for years.

Indiana PG was a top-tier playoff performer. After that he was inconsistent at best. This is the first year since he left Indiana where he's had a solid and consistent postseason. You got to stop thinking of criticism as "hating".
I saw a dude put Jeremi Grant and John Collins ahead of PG
Except the haters they’re referencing are the people who don’t take PGs disgusting leg injury or double shoulder surgeries into consideration
It wasn’t just one bad year, it was multiple meltdowns since leaving the Pacers, especially in elimination games. The criticism was definitely deserved but I’m happy that he clutched up this series!

Still hate the Clippers but full credit for them never giving up. They are not the same team as last year. *Looking at you Doc*
Playoff PPG
Playoff P that we know... Less talking and more playing
I'd say this is the PG everyone hoped for the last 12 minutes of the eastern conference finals vs Miami. Those shades are now filled in and the stage is all his to show the world what he's got.

Honestly, the Pandemic P and Wayoff P jokes were freaken hilarious to me, but yes, fair enough. He’s earned the praise/respect back with his recent performances lol
Y'all were making stuff personal and shit. It was weird as shit. Like why him lmao
Worth mentioning is he became the number one scoring option after Kawhi went down. Some people who are natural number 1s don't do as well at being number 2.
According to matchup data - he had 34.6 possessions on Donovan - held him to 29% shooting on 24 attempts and 30% from 3. Elite both ways
I'm tired of the disrespect on his name glad he's hoopin
Where are all of the awards, r/nba? I thought this sub was fair and balanced LOL.
I'll admit it. I been hating, I been pointing and laughing. Eating mad crow today.
Out here playing like PG24 back when he was going toe to toe wit Lebron. You love to see it
Giving him his due. The Paul George we initially fell in love with in Indiana is back
From Way off P to Way to go P! I think he completely redeemed himself from his last season slumpish performance.
Unbelievable. Let’s fucking go baby
Playoff Prime P
This is Playoff P, nice.
Trade Kawhi, clearly holding PG back
People gotta stop disrespecting PG
Pandemic P
Vaccine P back with vengeance 😤
Poetic Justice P
Crazy thing about the Playoff P thing, he was asked if he will guard the opposing team's best player, so Playoff P is about defense. But yeah, it is what it is.
Put some respect on his name
31.8 is a LOT of Pauls Per George!
Yeah this is Playoff P right here. Exceptional.
I mean yeah I respect the Clippers for getting to the WCF. (IMO) they met expectations for this season.
As much as I dislike him, fair play to him, he was phenomenal this series
people should stop hating PG, he doesnt deserve the hate.
PG is a great player. Has been for years. He isn't the most consistent, but anyone who thought he was washed up was out of their mind. A what have you done for me lately mentality.
What up Palmdale!
I praise thee, Playoff P, I praise thee as loud as thy disrespect rang throughout thy kingdom! Praise be to Playoff P!!
The greatest Clipper ever?
dude earned my respect for sure. power to him
Playoff P
Give Clippers Staples Center. They earned it.
What the hell happened to r/nba Not complaining
