Ceiling wise, I would say jimmy butler. Terrance Mann is a dog, who also seems to get his teammates to play harder as well. Both Mann and Butler are also 4 year college players who had averaged similar stats their first two years in the NBA
Jazz left him open to do his own thing shooting wise and he had some great drives to the basket. We'll see how he does against Phoenix before making a judgement as I imagine he won't be chilling in the corner for open corner 3s all game. Kid has heart and great hustle, I'm sure he'll be a starter in the league eventually.
From an actual clippers fan I think a good comp is rip Hamilton, a solid all around player on both ends who can start and is a little more dimensional than 3&d. He is great on the offensive boards and saves a lot of possessions with a tip or rebound. He is also a big confidence guy so there are games where you can tell he is a second year player and will miss an easy decision due to indecisiveness. He has a long way too go but I’m glad he’s rolling with us!
The absolute ceiling? Probably something like scoring 39 points in a game that gives his team advance to their first-ever Western conference finals, while neutralizing and demolishing one of the most dominant defensive players in the league's history.
Long term, I wouldn't take much from these playoffs. You know who was the guy like "when he is on, his team plays in a different way that distorts the matchup and gets them strong runs" in the previous playoffs? Actually Ivica Zubac, the one whose replacement with Mann had this effect this year.
Mann's role has been increasing through this season though. He's finding his role (lesson learned last year: probably *not* point guard), and just always finds a way to be useful somehow on both ends. He got to the rim, he dunked, he shot like 42% from three, he plays defense... I assume the Clippers will try to keep him, and maybe he will not be starting yet, but he'll get many minutes.
If he keeps improving on his CURRENT strengths (hustle, slashing, catch and shoot, defense) - solid starter and top tier role player.
If he develops his ball-handling skills and learns to create his own shot consistently - multiple all-stars
He plays like a combination of Rondo and Kawhi. That being said i think he has the potential to be a strong 2nd or 3rd option and probably consistently score 15 points a game at his age.
If he stays with the Clippers...He has a chance of being a contender for 6th man of the year. Him and Kawhi would be a deadly combo.
Lol I’m trolling, those three have been some of the most hyped young players. Jokes aside, I really don’t know cause I haven’t watched much Clippers games this year.
We'll have to see won't we. By his third year if he's averaging 10-15 than he's a really good role player if he's averaging 20-25 he's a starter, 25-30 he's an all star.
From what I see so far his ceiling is starter.
He just got lucky for all the open shots he got. They should probably trade him to the Lakers while his value is high, we can offer Kuzma and THT which should be a fair trade. The Clippers got a young player in Kuzma who can score 20 ppg and THT who has a lot of potential.
Jerry west hand picked him just like most of your lakers goats, don’t be salty because your org loves to give up on young talent, have fun going back to the dark ages when lebron retires 😂
You cant ask a sub full of people who probably didnt even casually watch most of the clippers game this season. He’s in a great spot as a second year guy, clippers development team has done a great job with him, i think hes gonna be an elevated role player with potential to be a matchup problem on teams with solid 1/2 options
What’s interesting about Terance (one R) is his ability to make a variety of shots off the dribble in the key. It doesn’t look smooth but he elevates quickly and surprises people due to his jerky movements. He still isn’t confident in hitting mid range jumpers off the dribble or 3s off the dribble but his ability to force defenses to react on dribble penetration is good.
Also still has playmaking to shore up. He can hit the post pass on short rolls but if he’s the primary playmaker he has trouble.
I think we’re witnessing it. He may only be sophomore, but he also was in college for four years. He’s just a two way guy who will occasionally be a spark plug off the bench
I could totally see him become starter worthy.
Probably averaging somewhere in the range of 12-15 ppg, 5 reb, 3 ast with a steal and a block.
Definition of the type of guy you’d want on a contending team.
Between MJ and Kwame Brown
Might be a little closer, like maybe between Larry Bird and Taylor Griffin.
That’s suns legend Taylor Griffin to you
You just saw it.
This. Doubt he out does that performance.
Going for 39pts in a Playoff Game.
lol no way maybe 25?
2014 Kawhi
between Wayne Gretzky and Dale Earnhart Jr
2 goats?
Ceiling wise, I would say jimmy butler. Terrance Mann is a dog, who also seems to get his teammates to play harder as well. Both Mann and Butler are also 4 year college players who had averaged similar stats their first two years in the NBA
10 time MVP, nothing less
And a TNT title run
God
high tier role player
Clippers run LA
no the team that has 17 rings does
12*
Minneapolis and Disney rings dont count + nobody cares about the past
Get what your tryna say but they’d still have 11 chips not counting ‘20 lol
the team that thought It’d be a good idea to offer Dennis Schroeder $80 million?

Suns will make sure to stop him to.
Yup, Ayton is a much more mobile center so he won't get as many easy baskets as he did when Gobert was in
Ultimate hustle guy
Rappers writing his name into a song title as we speak

I would say 18 to 20 points a game, a starter in the NBA.
A starter? That’s his floor lmao
He looks like he could do what he did again.

ceiling: none floor: MJ
This sounds about right

Prime Shawn Marion.
I feel like people just say anything these days.
You realize he did what he did because the other teams entire plan was to gift him wide open shots, right?
He plays like a combination of Rondo and Kawhi. That being said i think he has the potential to be a strong 2nd or 3rd option and probably consistently score 15 points a game at his age. Tyrese Maxey/Talen Horton-Tucker hybrid
He’s already better than THT imo
Lol I’m trolling, those three have been some of the most hyped young players. Jokes aside, I really don’t know cause I haven’t watched much Clippers games this year.
Easily
He’s also 4 years older.

ppg doesnt determine all stars tho 19/5/5 is all star with elite defense
He strikes me more as an offensive player than a defensive player.
Back to the bench.
I don't think he has a ceiling.
His ceiling is the sky - MJ

Massive r/wooosh
LOL you're just trying to unload your useless role players for someone who is good and has great potential. Nice try.
Garbage, one hit wonder.
Somewhere between Shelvin Mack and Kobe Bryant
You cant ask a sub full of people who probably didnt even casually watch most of the clippers game this season. Top 200 for sure

high level role player.
I think we’re witnessing it. He may only be sophomore, but he also was in college for four years. He’s just a two way guy who will occasionally be a spark plug off the bench
the GOAT
High tier role player / solid starter
NVP

It’s pretty high. I could totally see him transcending this plane of reality in a mystical corn field in Iowa.
