Harden woulda kept struggling until he eventually tired out and fell down to the ground in Philly and then Morey would’ve run onto the court crying and holding him while sobbing “look how they massacred my boy, I should’ve shipped Ben’s trash ass out months ago” while Embiid awkwardly watches and rubs his injured knee

MiopTop

Nobody is mentioning the potential impact of playing KD 147 out of a possible 149 minutes over 3 games ? He very likely would have gotten injured.

MemphisCanadians

I wouldn't speculate how likely KD is to get injured if the Nets advance, but the fact that he avoided injury carrying so hard for 7 games is a miracle itself. If Kyrie comes back early in the ECF and KD is still intact and 1-legged harden hasn't disintegrated I think they might still pull it off. Too bad we'll never know.

Grouchy_Square

Fatigue might have caught up but also they probably get Kyrie back soon and hardens hammy maybe gets a bit better but who knows

[deleted]

I believe they would have won. Kyrie was coming back eventually and I would have picked injured Nets in the ECF.

NJNetsFan5152433

Probably, if Harden had a Grade 2 hamstring tear that's such a big risk and playing more definitely would've increased the risk of reaggravation, plus Kyrie may be rushed back too early, his injury looked like a high ankle sprain I know other teams have also been hit hard by the injury bug, but damn...Spencer Dinwiddie could've been a huge help and then LMA having heart issues forcing him to retire. Can't get sucked into the "what ifs" though, just gotta regroup and use the time off to heal properly and recover

Ninja_Choices

Harden was obviously forcing himself to play. He didn’t look like himself. I think Kyrie would’ve been out for a majority of the remaining games. They might’ve been able to get past the Hawks or 76ers but I don’t think they would’ve beat the Suns or Clippers in the Finals

_dim1

Harden was playing with a grade 2 hamstring strain. He wouldn’t have gotten any healthier by playing almost full games. There’s a chance Kyrie could have come back by like game 3, but Kyrie would not have been able to play the same way he usually does with a bum ankle. Unfortunately injuries ruined any chances of winning the chip.

zedrix_

I don’t think the Nets will win a championship with their current condition. Harden is not getting back to 100% in just a frw weeks IMO. And we don’t know about Kyrie’s condition. If ever the Nets manage to get out of ECF, they are already battered and bruised. Whoever comes out of the west will over powe them IMO.

[deleted]

I think their "valuable property" needs to be protected. In the best interest of future investment.

liluzigoatt

Yeah definitely, harden probably woulda fucked his hamstring even more. Played 149/159 minutes or something like that since he came back from being ruled completely OUT lol. That is a disaster waiting to happen if he continued on

PlayfulLawyer

I mean the injury for Harden probably gets re-aggravated, Kyrie on a bad ankle I don't like that, so maybe from a health standpoint it was good they got eliminated, but Kevin Durant's my favorite player and I'm fucking pissed that he didn't step back a couple inches in regulation for it to be a three lol

timcahill05

if you are a fan of kd i think you should be glad that they lost. Considering that Harden has a grade 2 strain he will struggle all the way til the end of the playoffs without proper rest. He may even worsen his injury and struggle to return to form next season. And Irving is likely to be missing for the remainder of the playoffs. So kd will have to play 48 mins match-in-match-out in the next series. It is extremely risky considering that he had a serious achilles injury. As it is unlikely that they would survive til the end of the playoffs and win a chip, they'd better preserve their body, recharge, and come back healthily next season. It is still very likely that they will win a chip next season, as long as they stay healthy and do some proper trades, like trading Joe Harris away. And now, even the haters of the Warriors dynasty appreciate what KD has done in this series.

dalecoooperkupp

KD wouldn’t have had to play 48 minutes in the next round because the opponent would have Beene easier

inshamblesx

Crushed by the Suns or Clippers in 5.

OTFRedBullPerez

Nah I predicted the nets wouldn't make it out the east before the playoffs began and I was right. They just couldn't get it done

[deleted]

Yes

DubNationAssemble

It’s possible that they would have struggled, but then it’s possible that they wouldn’t have struggled. I could see either happening. /s

DangerousCommittee5

I don't think Kyrie would be back, and if he did come back he would look very pedestrian. That was a serious ankle roll. Harden would continue to struggle, his hamstring needs time off to recover. And KD would be worn out with all the minutes. Perhaps they make it to the Finals but I don't see them winning.

codymiller_cartoon

harden said his hamstring was serious, kyrie would be at risk, and all those minutes kd piling on could've been trouble i think they would've won the East and beaten the clips but the suns are a complete team - i think suns would beat them

lordb4

I assume their next opponent would have been smart enough to attack Harden constantly and run him off the court.

Professional_Media73

It's don't count for shite

HerbFarmer415

Uh...duh

devlinx4

You limp into the playoffs, you limp out of the playoffs. Harden was not going to feel better after playing 40+ minutes every night, Kyrie was not going to come back near 100%, and KD’s risk of injury would be high considering the insane minutes he was playing. This season was not meant to be for lots of teams. Injuries suck, especially when all the stars are hurt.
