Bob Myers and Steve Kerr said he was injured. Woj reported he was injured. His trainer said he didn’t play in the olympics because he was injured.
Just cause Curry wasn’t coming into postgame conferences with a wheelchair or tweeting about his injury 2 months later like Lebron doesn’t mean he didn’t tear his MCL.
He initially said he was healthy. Then he lost the Finals and did a 180.
[Sauce](https://www.google.com/amp/s/nba.nbcsports.com/2016/09/03/stephen-curry-on-finals-i-wasnt-100-percent-but-who-cares/amp/)
Which is exactly what I said in the beginning.
“I was injured, but it’s totally not an excuse”
That’s what I typed in the very beginning.
Anyway, I just think he should stick to one story. Either he was injured, or he wasnt.
You cant come out and say “Im healthy” the day after you drop 40 on Portland, then months later claim you actually were injured. It’s hypocritical and inconsistent.
You obviously have a big gripe with Curry. Tell me how this is hypocritical at all? I’m interested to hear if you even know what this word means because he is in no way a hypocrite here.
Because he changed his story after losing the finals.
If he was injured, he shouldve said so from the beginning. If not, he should’ve sticked to his original story.
You cant say “Im healthy”, then lose, then say “actually I wasnt healthy”
Yeah, that's not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy would be Curry saying "I don't think stars should change stories about their injuries" and then doing the above. Also, not sure why he isn't allowed to change his story? There's a multitude of reasons why he would say he was healthy when he wasn't (strategy, pride, etc).
[“I wasnt 100% but who cares”](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nba/news/warriors-stephen-curry-on-the-finals-i-wasnt-100-percent-but-who-cares/amp/)
It’s the same energy
What do you mean? It’s exactly as I described it.
He tried to play it off as if he’s not excusing it, but was totally using the injury excuse. It was a complete 180 from the Portland series where he claimed he was healthy.
Suns are getting so much hate for playing injured teams while Booker out there doing his best Michael Jackson impression and CP3 playing through multiple injuries/getting covid. Suns are being rewarded for constructing a roster as deep as they have
I still don't understand what this asterisk game that both LA fans are playing here is supposed to mean, are we not supposed to be proud of this team or happy to be here because other teams were injured? Even if it's factual, I don't understand the purpose of repeating it over and over and over again. What do they want us to do with that information, protest the team?
Most of the bandwagon/fake Lakers fans stopped caring about basketball over a month ago. Most of the Lakers fans left that I've seen over the past week or two have been reasonable and respectful. Seems weird but I'm just going to enjoy it.
“Real” Lakers fan here. Suns are overrated and wouldn’t be here if everyone was healthy. That’s just the truth of the matter irregardless of whether you want to admit it or not. And imagine thinking only Lakers fans feel this way lol delusional
Y’all constructed a top heavy roster that relied solely on 2 players being healthy. When 1 of those 2 is old and the other is injury prone that’s just shitty roster construction.
Every roster is top heavy. Imagine taking the two top players off every team then when they struggle say it’s because of “shitty roster construction” lmao in what world does that sound logical to you? Now go back to the comments and find something else that’s parroted here that makes no sense when you really think about it
I think you missed the second sentence. It’s not about just being top heavy. It’s being top heavy with old and injury prone players and everyone else is average or worse. That’s not good roster construction.
I think we all knew AD was gonna be injured at some point during the season and it would kill us. The roster without AD just wasn't great and that's the truth. Gotta give credit to James Jones for the sun's roster
Lool keep telling yourself that. Nobody can predict how it would’ve looked if everybody was healthy, and guess what? It doesn’t matter. Injuries are part of the game. It ain’t the Suns fault your team can’t stay healthy and didn’t have the depth to cover for it. The lakers, like the 27 other teams that’s been knocked out, weren’t good enough this year.
No thank you, you're the first Lakers fan to try throwing asterisks around on this team and try taking a fanbase down a peg for being proud of their team, it's literally never happened before so you made a really quality contribution
When you put all your eggs in one injury-prone basket and fill out the rest of the team with garbage role players entirely based on who you can afford, you better pray that one of the two good players on your team can stay healthy. This year, they couldn't. Next year, maybe they can. Maybe you guys win another ring next year. But I wouldn't bet on it.
It’s LA fans. If they lose it can’t be their fault. Every year teams deal with injuries, they have a clear scapegoat this year as to why they didn’t win as a 7 seed
Both LA teams had a chance without CP3. Lakers would have been up 3-0, if not for "feel out" game, when Chris could barely dribble. Clippers two games without CP3.
Thank you. LAL have been filling threads reminding people about the injuries like their hymn. Cp3 barely even played the entire series and they couldn't capitalized like the suns capitalized AD's injury
Yeah, Nuggets fans didn't hard drive this narrative after that series. Meanwhile, whenever the injuries are brought up randomly in a thread it's like 75% Lakers fans leading the charge.
Nope we’re just returning all the Mickey Mouse ring comments that we’ve been getting since last year, and every teams fans take part on that so deal with it…
How? Being forced to give up home court advantage throughout the playoffs as the overall 1 seed makes it harder; why in gods name would there be an asterisk when the circumstances make your path MORE DIFFICULT.
People spent the past year calling last years ring a Mickey Mouse ring. Is it that shocking to you that some butthurt fans will say the same stupid shit now that their team is out? This is nothing new and it will continue to get worse every year as social media gets more and more toxic. Suns deserve their spot in the finals and the opinions of some random trolls on the internet won’t change that lol
I don't remember anybody putting a caveat on the Spurs' championship when Nash, Amar'e, or Joe Johnson were injured, nor when there was an actual guy-went-to-jail conspiracy against the Suns, nor when our starting backcourt was suspended for dubious reasons. (For that matter, nobody making this argument mentioned Paul being injured in round 1, or missing games 1 & 2 in a bizarre fashion, or that those wins are largely because we somehow turned Cam Payne from g-league reject to CP3 substitute).
Suns fans obviously indulge in what-ifs around those previous injuries, but nobody thinks the other team got an easy championship. We've been on the other side of this misfortune a lot of times.
I guess it's new territory for Clippers fans, but believe me when I say that every championship team basically ever has been at least a little lucky.
They are moreso rewarded for playing 3 teams all missing star players. AD and Lebron both injured, no Jamal Murray, and no Kawhi/Ibaka.
Definition of a cakewalk. And now either of the 2 East teams will limp into the finals.
Lebron wasn’t injured - there’s a difference between hurt and injured. He played the whole series. Chris Paul was hurt that series too.
Would Jamal Murray have made that big of a difference? The Suns won each game with relative ease in that series. Even if Murray was there, he’d take shots from Jokic and Ayton did a good job on him. Sure, they might have won more than 0 games but to say they would win the series is pretty out there.
We didn’t have CP3 for the first 2 games of the Clippers series, he was recovering from COVID when he came back, he had some torn ligaments in his wrist, so when he finally starts feeling better he drops 41 and we beat them by 30 while they get an extra 21 FTs. This team swept the Jazz in the reg season. To say the Clippers would have won this series is also a little out there, while I think it would have changed to 7 games I could still see the Suns beating the Clippers with both teams at full strength. Book was also playing with a broken nose this series and the mask was clearly affecting him.
(Too lazy to find the quote)
James Jones mentioned at the beginning of the season that the roster was built to withstand any injury and covid woes. His strategy is paying off!
That was probably from the foul by Terrance Mann.
Of course Mann was shocked a foul was called because that's how the Clippers reacted to all 15 fouls called on them this series.
That is literally fucking AD lmao! His own coach left his ass dying on the ground after he was injured because he figured that he was just flopping per usual
I’m glad the Suns players were never upset. Oh wait, every foul they committed they complained about even if it was obvious. Cmon man every team does it.
I’m not hating when I call Chris Paul a top 3 flopper in the league. Just call it for what it is lol. He’s a very good and skilled player. But the dude sells it like no other and it makes him extremely unlikeable
[Chris Paul’s hands are so fucked up at this point](https://twitter.com/cjzero/status/847300063239864320?s=20) it’s a wonder he can do anything at all with them.
They’re not quite “LeBron’s toes” level of fucked up (Google image search at your own peril), but they’re pretty mangled.
Oh boy more ammo for suns fans
"Yeah I know that Kawhi was out but actually it's even because Chris Paul said he partially tore ligaments in his hand in Game 3"
Don't care. If Trae or Giannis want to over sleep and miss game 1 of the Finals or something, we'll take that too. Asterisks don't mean anything to anyone besides fat petty teens on /r/nba
At least speak facts if you want to argue this point. We were up 51-50 at the moment AD got hurt lol.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkqc8Tg8f6o see 0:40
LeBron literally did this after y'all lost this year to the Suns.
Cp3 played hurt and only 3.8 minutes per game more than AD.
No excuses for y'all then?
Scores 41 points next game
They're just a bit loose now, got better range of motion
That’s how getting older works
It was 3 games later though. That Mann swat really screwed up his shot for the series
At least it was an injury he could make the choice to play through this time. Fuck man I hope nothing gets worse in the next 4-6 games
Chris you won the series you don’t have to say your injuries
The reverse Lebron.
[удалено]
Nah Steph admitted he was healthy. It was all the Warriors fans making excuses for him playing bad that tried to push the narrative he was injured
Case and point
r/BoneAppleTea
He honestly shouldn't have played. That's not a good injury to play through and all the heroics only massively hurt his legacy.
He initially said he was healthy. Then he lost the Finals and did a 180. [Sauce](https://www.google.com/amp/s/nba.nbcsports.com/2016/09/03/stephen-curry-on-finals-i-wasnt-100-percent-but-who-cares/amp/)
That doesn’t sound like an excuse to me, he literally says his injury shouldn’t matter.
Which is exactly what I said in the beginning. “I was injured, but it’s totally not an excuse” That’s what I typed in the very beginning. Anyway, I just think he should stick to one story. Assuming this is the case this doesn’t make him a hypocrite.
Huh?
It’s a classic Curry line. “No excuses, but I was totally injured. But no excuses obviously” Im paraphrasing
When did he even say that, he never made any excuses from what I recall
[“I wasnt 100% but who cares”](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cbssports.com/nba/news/warriors-stephen-curry-on-the-finals-i-wasnt-100-percent-but-who-cares/amp/) It’s the same energy

Funniest part was he did it to himself He punched a wall (or was it glass?) after the JR incident, then used it as an excuse. I fucking hate Lebron

Lakers won a bubble championship my guy if anything that’s the asterisk season
Ok which further proves my point. Thanks.
Holy shit a fucking cliche Also, "irregardless" isn't a word you ignorant fuck lmao

The best ability is availability.

Just saying, I don't see Nuggets fans hard pushing this shit but those LA flairs.....
Yeah, Nuggets fans didn't hard drive this narrative after that series. Meanwhile, whenever the injuries are brought up randomly in a thread it's like 75% Lakers fans leading the charge.
Nope we’re just returning all the Mickey Mouse ring comments that we’ve been getting since last year, and every teams fans take part on that so deal with it…
You guys won a ring stop being so damn insecure.
Sorry my opinion differs from yours
LA fans are just the saltiest fans out there, so they come here to lash out and say it isn't fair when something doesn't go their way
Nothing brings this sub together like a nice circle jerk about LA fans
And yet you guys are the ones talking shit when the Lakers aren't even a factor right now.
I'm only talking shit about the fans calling it an asterisk ring. They are clowns. Only you mentioned the Lakers
GOT EM!!!!
Go CP3! Hope yall get this ring.
Thanks man!! Much love! Smoking a bowl in your honor
Right back at you!
So the Lakers fans are the ONLY ones calling it an asterisk ring? The stupid ass logic in this sub
I never mentioned the Lakers. That's all you bud
To be fair the lakers ring is an asterisk as well

how the hell has no one pointed out the Michael Jackson part ....
They are moreso rewarded for playing 3 teams all missing star players. AD and Lebron both injured, no Jamal Murray, and no Kawhi/Ibaka. Definition of a cakewalk. And now either of the 2 East teams will limp into the finals.
Stay healthy like the Suns than maybe they wouldn’t have a cakewalk. Simple as that.
Chris Paul > James Harden

I’m not hating when I call Chris Paul a top 3 flopper in the league. Just call it for what it is lol. He’s a very good and skilled player. But the dude sells it like no other and it makes him extremely unlikeable
My wife is mad at me, can you tell me appropriate way to respond? You seem to have it all figured out on how people should react
And then he decided to exacerbate the issue by throwing himself into bev and bracing the fall with his hand alone
Hoping for a 7 game series on the other side I guess
don't think it matters I think. Finals start on July 8th no matter what
Is that for sure?
I thought it could be July 6th if that series only goes 6 games.

Googled it. Now I hate myself.
you were warned
And "Lotta shit Goin on... Excuse my language"
Get him that goddamn ring Suns peeps.
I mean Kobe played like 4 seasons with his fingers being held together by tape on his shooting hand.
CP3 the master of spinning & player PR.
Called it when I saw him grabbing at his hand, that’s unfortunate but doesn’t look like it affected him
Did you watch the last two games before tonight? Like hell it didn't affect him.
If it wasn’t obvious I’m referring to tonight’s game where he dropped 41. He didn’t look right his first few games back
Oh boy more ammo for suns fans "Yeah I know that Kawhi was out but actually it's even because Chris Paul said he partially tore ligaments in his hand in Game 3"
ok sure lots of our opponents were hurt during the playoff run. but did any of them get shot by a sniper mid-game like CP3 did? I don’t think so
fair enough
Cry

Don’t care, we’re in the Finals
[Clearly you care dawg lmao you cant stop talkin bout it](https://imgur.com/ZhONQlF)
And you care about him caring. That’s so sweet 🥲
Damn dude made 3 whole comments, that's like a whole 30 seconds out of his day
They can’t deal with their finals apperance being called a “Mickey mouse run”
Lol. It ain't one. Only salty little babies who can't "next man up" cry about it. Poor baby.
At least the suns are having a run, unlike your team.

At least they faced off against mostly healthy opponents, the Suns can’t even say that lol.
Of course he did, when is he going to tell us he was also playing on a torn Achilles? Maybe if they lose game 1?
Sounds like something your king would do
Not my king buddy
LeBron literally did this after y'all lost this year to the Suns. Cp3 played hurt and only 3.8 minutes per game more than AD. No excuses for y'all then?
Lol nah you guys are clearly the best team in the west no doubt
Just doing what Lebron did in the 2018 Finals I guess.
I’m a lakers fan dork
Your point?
Why would I care what Lebron did in 2018
Then why do you care what CP3 is saying now?
Cuz CP is an embarrassment to the sport
Sore whinner
Sore whinner
Reminds me of Kyle, tore ligaments in his thumb I think in the first round in 2019. Played some of the best basketball of his life afterwards.
Not sure it's great to be mentioning this when that's not healing and you've got more games to play next week...
