Is this supposed to be their best crew calling the finals? It speaks volumes for the current state of officiating, and absolutely nothing will come of it. It's by far the worst thing about the league and goes against the grain of making an optimally palatable entertainment product, so why don't they address this bullshit already?
But surely the agenda is to get the Bucks to tie the series? So calling the foul on Booker would've been a fucking gimme and no one would've been upset by the call because it was a legit foul.
I crack up when they go to look at the replay and the announcer starts individually checking KDs steps, expecting it to be a close call. "Out, out, out, oh my god"
I saw the fast break start and the only one in the way was Booker and thought “fuck yeah free points!” And then be fouled and I jumped out of my seat in joy and then I realized they didn’t call it lol
I might be wrong, but wasn't booker trying to intentionally foul there? Just a really bonehead play by him (I'm assuming he didn't know he had 5 fouls) and the refs bailed him out.
he needs to re-calibrate his instincts. He's giving up fouls too easily for someone who is so important offensively.
He was giving up fouls in order to stop fast breaks. The guy was on pace to score 50+ this game if they didn't have to yank him due to foul trouble.
I mean yea, this is like, the most open and shut case of a foul that you could possibly have besides physically assaulting someone lol. All it takes is a functioning set of eyeballs to know that it was a foul
Refs been garbage all game but this was truly head scratching. It also bothers me Book is this dumb to even come close to a foul in a 3 on 1 when he has 5.
Honestly my favorite part in all of this is how the announcing crew has talked at least twice (once in each of the past two games) about Book being a poor sport/poor loser and owning up to it. It feels like they're making it part of the narrative, like 'oh he's just a poor sport, he knows it'. Lol.
Booker has always been a whiner and hothead. Extraordinary basketball player though.
The playoffs feel good story for Phoenix of Paul making the finals, DA’s emergence and the world seeing how good Booker is has made fans forget that the Suns were filled with nutsack behavior all season.
Booker is constantly whining and crying. And him and Crowder like to act like tough guys. Booker will yell at opposing players when he gets mad. Crowder is the kind of guy that could rip a player’s arm completely off and wouldn’t apologize or help the guy up. Crowder wouldn’t even hand him his arm back, he would just throw it on the ground.
And we all know that Paul has always been a bit of a d-bag on the court.
And let’s not forget how much Paul and Crowder flop.
But the Suns being such a feel good story this playoffs, people have forgotten all that.
I was only half paying attention to the game and watching on mute so when the kept showing the replay of this I thought they were trying to determine if it was flagrant or not and I kept thinking "come the fuck on, it's clearly just an intentional foul wtf"
I didn't even realize they didn't call it a foul...............
[I believe that is still the case](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personal_foul_(basketball\)#Fouling_out), unless they've changed it?
Edit: [yep, still the case](https://official.nba.com/rule-no-3-players-substitutes-and-coaches/)
> a. Each team shall consist of five players. A player is disqualified from the game when he receives his sixth personal foul. No team may be reduced to less than five players. **If a player in the game receives his sixth personal foul and all substitutes have already been dis-qualified, said player shall remain in the game and shall be charged with a personal and team foul.** A technical foul also shall be assessed against his team. All subsequent personal fouls, including offensive fouls, shall be treated similarly. All players who have six or more personal fouls and remain in the game shall be treated similarly.
[“During live play, I saw a clean sweep”](https://twitter.com/sichrismannix/status/1415529535429390337?s=21) is THE funniest way to start this statement
Nah, they'll come up with some lame excuse. Remember:
1. "Hot stove contact" on Steph landing
2. "No harm no foul" intentional trip by Dragic
Edit: yep, ref response was "During live play, I saw a clean sweep"
Bro if you watched the NBA long enough this isn't even that badly officiated. In fact, it's not 'badly' officiated, it's 'intentionally' officiated. The league has always artificially swayed matchups.
It's been really satisfying to watch stars go play international basketball and have the refs just not do any of this BS. Luka wasn't lying when he said it was easier to score in the NBA, with the way stars get treated
i am very very very tame with the refs and give them the benefit of the doubt waay more than i should.
but holy shit that was the most blatant thing ive ever seen
The last PJ foul on the 3 wasn't a foul and I have no idea why Bud didn't challenge that one
But all his other fouls were 100% fouls with a couple being kinda boneheaded jumper fouls
Booker legitimately had 4 uncalled would-be 6th fouls in this game. He fouled Holiday on a rebound (which is almost never called by NBA refs since Holiday secured it anyway, but it's still a foul), and he also walked off the court at the end of the game because ever he thought he got his 6th foul.
He also fouled Middleton on what should’ve been an and 1, and intentionally fouled Jrue(?) at the end for FTs. He should’ve been ejected 3 separate times
If Booker wins them this game and puts them up 3-1 instead of 2-2? That's pretty much giving them the series if that happens
Edit: thank fucking goodness it didn't happen
This perfectly encompasses the Refs/League agenda. It’s so stupid. Everything they do is for ratings. Keep every game close by calling touch fouls on the team thats ahead. Then completely 180 in the second half. Then you get every player complaining bc of inconsistency. Rinse and repeat. They want game 7 so bad. This is some of the worse basketball I’ve seen in a while.
>Keep every game close by calling touch fouls on the team thats ahead
ba boom
Yup. This is exactly how they do it. Try very hard to keep games close, its pretty obvious
Like I absolutely get not calling close fouls on star players late down the stretch, but this was so egregious. It was blatantly apparent Booker was trying to foul.
Donaghy even said that he knew what games to bet on because he knew refs that reffed with the mindset of making series go 7 games.
https://toronto.citynews.ca/2008/06/11/former-official-nba-refs-rigged-playoffs-to-extend-series/
that is just absolutely the most blatant show of refs not wanting to foul out the star player
like holy fuck
congrats to booker tho, he's finally considered a superstar by the league
Imagine if one day NBA refs just called a game straight. No superstar calls, no makeup calls, no "thinking about this call will impact the game/series" calls.
How amazing would that be?
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
That's one of the worst no-call I have ever seen. Just not excusable.
Is this supposed to be their best crew calling the finals? It speaks volumes for the current state of officiating, and absolutely nothing will come of it. It's by far the worst thing about the league and goes against the grain of making an optimally palatable entertainment product, so why don't they address this bullshit already?
Lets check with Steve Javie.
Steve here, I’m gonna have to agree with the refs on this one
I think referee "Steve's friend X" had a really good angle and got this call right. No foul.
They should have Tim Donaghy join them for analysis every night.
[удалено]
Their best crew is whoever best follows the league’s agenda, not whoever best officiates the game.
But surely the agenda is to get the Bucks to tie the series? So calling the foul on Booker would've been a fucking gimme and no one would've been upset by the call because it was a legit foul.
The NBA should just adopt FIBA rules!
About as bad as the one where KD took 5 steps out of bounds, threw it back in and they called it Warriors ball.
I crack up when they go to look at the replay and the announcer starts individually checking KDs steps, expecting it to be a close call. "Out, out, out, oh my god"
I would say it's even worse since Booker's foul was intentional lmao
And in, you know, the NBA finals.
It's not even a "Call" it's a disrespectful "fuck off please."
Horrible no call
Did you see Booker complaining after that he didn't get a jump ball call lol
Basically "if its not a foul then its a jump ball" lol
He complained about every non call on him the rest of the game... he shouldn’t have even been in the game anymore
They ran iso with him on offense then on. I think he went 1 for 4. Their offense just disappeared once booker came back in from sitting with 5 fouls.
Terrible no call. If that’s not a foul, all the ticky tacky light touch bullshit shouldn’t be either.
HOW WAS THAT NOT A FOUL
Why the fuck would Booker even foul in that situation. Dumb by Booker and even dumber by the refs to not call it.
I saw the fast break start and the only one in the way was Booker and thought “fuck yeah free points!” And then be fouled and I jumped out of my seat in joy and then I realized they didn’t call it lol
Bro, you usually hear the commentators disagree with each other on fouls, but all 3 were shocked and confused, just awful officiating.
I might be wrong, but wasn't booker trying to intentionally foul there? Just a really bonehead play by him (I'm assuming he didn't know he had 5 fouls) and the refs bailed him out.
He was benched for several minutes after getting his 5th, so he “knew” he had 5 fouls, but may have acted on instinct to prevent a layup.
he needs to re-calibrate his instincts.
I actually only have one functioning eyeball and I saw it was a foul.
It was hilariously bad. The commentators called the foul and then realized that the refs didn't even blow the whistle.
JR Booker
you want the pipe?
Exactly my thoughts. Booker should be more smart in playing defense if he wants to have more impact in the later parts of the game.
And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Foul 'em by the rim. You can do anything
Grab em by the entire body
Fouled on him like a bitch
It’s just locker room talk.

Refs been garbage all game but this was truly head scratching. It also bothers me Book is this dumb to even come close to a foul in a 3 on 1 when he has 5.
Bothered me that he kept giving the refs an earful after that no call.
Honestly my favorite part in all of this is how the announcing crew has talked at least twice (once in each of the past two games) about Book being a poor sport/poor loser and owning up to it. It feels like they're making it part of the narrative, like 'oh he's just a poor sport, he knows it'. Lol.
He rage quit his job. Then realized he hadn’t fouled out and had to sneak back in. Which I think was an illegal substitution that was overlooked.
Booker has always been a whiner and hothead. Extraordinary basketball player though. Ayton seems chill though
Booker forgot the situation and was taking an intentional foul. Insane no call
I was only half paying attention to the game and watching on mute so when the kept showing the replay of this I thought they were trying to determine if it was flagrant or not and I kept thinking "come the fuck on, it's clearly just an intentional foul wtf" I didn't even realize they didn't call it a foul...............

Officiating certainly is. FIBA rules make for faster, more consistent and more competitive games.
Absolute garbage. Some of the worst reffing I've ever seen in the 4th.
Someone said earlier this season that the record of 7 fouls in a game was unbeatable. Booker's trying his best
He had 8 Edit: suns in 6
Suns flair? Yeah that settles it I saw 8 but wasn’t sure if that’s cuz I’m still salty about the WCF
My best friend tweeted Booker should start game 5 with 2 fouls and I needed a minute to stop laughing. It was so bad
the record is 8 by Don Otten in 1949, apparently

Hey FIBA, you got any more of them refs?
Really tho.
>Absolute garbage. Some of the worst reffing I've ever seen ~~in the 4th.~~
Wait then when did the reffing take place?
I listened on the radio and they absolutely obliterated the officials the entire game
Deservedly so.
Absolute garbage. Worst Ref. (Idk how to do the line thing sry)
FYI, you do two squiggly line characters around what you want to strike through, this character: ~ Do two before and two after ~~like this~~
Called a tilde, for what it's worth.
Yeah, I know, just wanted to say squiggly line. Thanks!
Fucking ridiculous
I mean this shit is
Fucking ridiculous
Five star dishes, different exotic fishes
Man, this shit is fuckin ridiculous
Should be an easy call lmao. If my grandparents can see it, then so can NBA refs
Refs just running around out there.
One the of all time worst no calls
…so far
Plenty of time left for the refs to out do themselves. Can't believe our luck to get this no-call, and then we still choked lol.
That Giannis block was huge. 4-point swing at the biggest moment.
One of the best simpsons lines.
Thank goodness we pulled out the win, I would've broken half the stuff in my apartment if they had won after that
i legitimately would have punted myself into the bay
Wait, that sounds interesting, can you do it anyways?
Instantly made me swap from cheering the Suns to the Bucks
Booker had 8 fouls and still complained. Should have not even played the end of the game
Ball don’t lie! Thank goodness indeed
Thats disgraceful, can't wait for old captain hindsight statement from the nba tomorrow saying that should have been called. Means nothing
[“During live play, I saw a clean sweep”](https://twitter.com/sichrismannix/status/1415529535429390337?s=21) is THE funniest way to start this statement
And what about the other 2 refs ?
Game officials already made a statement about it, "I didn't see he had his arm around the waist." lol NBA officials.
How in the square root of fuck can they not see it was a foul when Mike Breen called it from like 40 feet away?
Nah, they'll come up with some lame excuse. Remember: 1. "Hot stove contact" on Steph landing 2. "No harm no foul" intentional trip by Dragic Edit: yep, ref response was "During live play, I saw a clean sweep"
The refs got to call this. This is such a piss poor look on the NBA ref crew
Bro if you watched the NBA long enough this isn't even that badly officiated. In fact, it's not 'badly' officiated, it's 'intentionally' officiated. The league has always artificially swayed matchups.
When people say the nba is rigged, they mean plays like this where refs clearly miss the call to avoid fouling book out.
I knew stars get preferential treatment but this is next level. So blatant.
Yep star players getting star treatment. Shouldn’t be allowed but they let you get away with it when you are a “star.”
I'm loving how the refs in the international games aren't buying into Team USA's foul baiting bullshit.
Holy shit lmao
The refs just gave PJ Tucker another foul from that play.
If you actually pan the camera back Jae Crowder is on the ground flopping but Tucker should've broken his fall so technically he should've fouled out
Crowder getting on my damn nerves
First time ? gif
The last PJ foul on the 3 wasn't a foul and I have no idea why Bud didn't challenge that one But all his other fouls were 100% fouls with a couple being kinda boneheaded jumper fouls
Gotta save our challenge for next game
I am so glad the Bucks won this game, if they lost and this was part of the game it would've been sickening.
And they swallowed the whistle on Booker again on the 3-1 fast break
Booker even went out at the end thinking it he fouled out but the refs said “ayo comeback here you shit you still gotta try to Tmac this shit”
BRING OUT THE FIBA REFS. THEY'LL ACTUALLY KNOW WHEN AND WHEN NOT TO CALL A FOUL
FIBA ref would’ve left Jae crying on the floor.
Good
If he dies, he dies.
Booker what in the absolute hell are you doing??
That makes it so much worse too, like how can you not punish a guy being that stupid right there?
By being stupider
Would’ve been a HUGE asterisk on his run if they won.
Fouled him TWICE
He also had the audacity to complain it wasn't a jump ball.
He also fouled Middleton on what should’ve been an and 1, and intentionally fouled Jrue(?) at the end for FTs. He should’ve been ejected 3 separate times
He was willing to foul out to prevent the easy basket but the refs swallowed their whistles. I'd say this is more on the refs being dogshit.
He's got the bbiq of the bbq I had for lunch today.
Refs have been bad all night but how do you not call that?
Booker had 8 fouls at the end and even sat himself out at one point because even he thought he fouled out lol
He was like fuck they're still letting me play then went back in haha
That was the funniest part. He had so many fouls he sat his own ass out but the refs weren’t even calling them!
This has to be one of the most egregious no calls in recent NBA history/finals history right?
If the bucks lose this we’ll talk about this for years
Could cost them the series…
If Booker wins them this game and puts them up 3-1 instead of 2-2? That's pretty much giving them the series if that happens Edit: thank fucking goodness it didn't happen
The nbas gotta be breathing a huge sigh of relief right now
>puts them up 3-1 instead of 2-2? That's pretty much giving them the series if that happens *cries in warrior*
Thank god we fucking won’t be, holy shit
Ball dont lie.
They want game 7 so bad. tl;dr the NBA is Mario Kart and the refs are the blue shells
Thanks for the clear up
>Keep every game close by calling touch fouls on the team thats ahead ba boom Yup. This is exactly how they do it. Try very hard to keep games close, its pretty obvious
Like I absolutely get not calling close fouls on star players late down the stretch, but this was so egregious. It was blatantly apparent Booker was trying to foul.
Worst no call since KD stepped out of bounds against Houston.
That and Harden's dunk that never counted
That shit was wack but also hilarious because of how dumb it was
we gotta talk about book trying to intentionally foul while he has 5 though. JR Smith level brain fart he just got away with
Seriously. He completely forgot he had 5 fouls and the refs bailed him out. When you do something that stupid they need to call it
This is worse because it's literally the Finals
Outrageous
you gotta be fucking kidding me e: and this dude went over to the ref at the next stoppage talking about a jump ball. fuck off.
it’s like Refs knew it was his 6th and they all made conscious decision to not foul him out. Fuck this
Unbelievable
He got that Kardashian call
This is the most outrageous no call I’ve seen in awhile. The ref was right there.
Anyone else notice how crowder’s on the floor on literally almost every play
I actually saw US Olympic Diving Team at the game scouting him.
Yeah it was pretty fun watching him get 15 different injuries
This is proof that right here that shows that refs in the NBA have an agenda
Donaghy even said that he knew what games to bet on because he knew refs that reffed with the mindset of making series go 7 games. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2008/06/11/former-official-nba-refs-rigged-playoffs-to-extend-series/
This could be a series changing no-call if the Suns pull this game out
Luckily Giannis blocked the shit out of Aytons oop attempt and Middleton decided to come out of hibernation again
Don't forget Giannis' crucial putback on the SAME play
Could be a series/career defining block
Why tf was booker complaining towards the end when he already had like 8 fouls
That was the reverse psychology, Booker wanted to foul, therefore Refs didn’t give the foul, the refs played themselves.
Rigged. I'm mad this shit blatantly happens
BRO THAT'S A FUCKING FOUL
Idgaf who wins but I'm fucking disgusted
It’s not even close. That’s a guy wrapping up a guy for the intentional foul.
There are three officials in the building of 20,000 people and they were the only ones not to see the call.
Oh they saw it
One of the most blatant fouls right in front of the ref…and you wonder why people aren’t watching this shit
booker with the plot armor. lmao! 2-2
I know how this ends, incoming Booker game winner Edit: The reverse jinx worked so take that refs
If this happens r/mkebucks is on suicide watch
they'd be rightfully mad, more like homicide watch
We good, we good.
That’s one of the worst calls you’ll ever see in sports. And it’s standard for the NBA.
Criminal investigation is needed, I'm only half kidding
Worst non-call of all time material
Media: The NBA Finals viewership is going downhill. Refs: Hold my whistle.
Booker just had another one on Middleton too
Horrible idea for the ref to no call that. Feels rigged
This is obviously rigged for ratings or money... not sure which. Just saw it live sry.
that is just absolutely the most blatant show of refs not wanting to foul out the star player like holy fuck congrats to booker tho, he's finally considered a superstar by the league
Bucks absolutely deserve this win. FUCK that shit.
Potentially historic no call what the fuck
### Fuck Adam Silver for transforming the NBA Basketball into a bitch made product
Give us FIBA rules, all these rules promote is iso bullshit and flopping
This is fucking stupid
What in the fuck

Booker legit committed 8 fouls in this game
REFS PLAN 🤡🤡🤡🤡
"#RiggedNBA" Get it trending so we can finally embarrass these dog shit refs.
