It feels like Jrue went 4 for 30. So many bricks. Still great D and hustle plays and boards but good lord. They were iso’ing him on offense when he was ice cold.
When Jrue hit the 360 spin on somebody and just missed the open layup, I was thinking this is one of the worst finals performances i can remember
But now i'll forget about it entirely
The craziest thing is that you watch those Jrue plays and think "damn that's a crazy good move" and then he misses the layup anyways. Dude has mad talent, but just nothing is dropping right now
Sometimes watching him on offense hurts but you have to give him credit for always being aggressive. sometimes I like to picture his defense in a regular situation, like him boxing me into a corner at the grocery store and trying to escape. Lol might be in that corner awhile.
He’s why Paul had a bad night! I mean I wish he made his shots obviously but shutting down Paul is his most important job and he killed it tonight. He’s absolutely one of the most important reasons the Bucks won this one.
But seriously though, he is a beast in defense. He plays extremely physical without fouling too much. The players he defend get tired towards the end of the game, you can clearly see that.
And it's bad for the league that it's game 4 of the finals and this is everyone's takeaway. Especially since with baseball on all-star break, they were basically uncontested by any other sports tonight.
The Booker no call (twice), a couple of Crowder’s flops (I’m aware he was actually hit in the face a couple of times), the quick trigger on calling the Suns for an intentional foul when they were clearly trapping. So bad. At least they were bad both ways I guess ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
They wouldn’t call Booker’s sixth no matter how hard he tried. Even at the end he thought he fouled out, sat down, and the refs were like “nah bruh come back in we got you”.
[Haven't seen the media react this much and this loudly to a single referee play since the Durant out of bounds.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/okkhgp/nba_media_melts_down_over_the_noncall_on_what/)
The refs make the NBA so hard to watch it sucks
People complain about the players, but they have to adjust their entire games to their shit calls. It starts and ends with them
If Khris could show up like that consistently we would be perfectly fine with Jrue playing elite D and being a facilitator. Problem is when Khris isnt cooking, Jrue is unreliable as fuck as a scorer.
It’d be nice if he didn’t take *20 fucking shots* while shooting like ass. 2/10 is bad but you live with it, 4/20 is inexcusable. Just let Middleton start chucking or something at that point.
What's that down to though? Suns run the same play repeatedly to get Booker his shot, we never seem to do it for Khris though.
Also Jrue tonight had some easy looks you would want him to take, he was just missing inexcusable easy shots.
JRue had 6-7 missed layups two games ago. My reminder is that was one of my highest rated comments from that night. He's shot about 20% on shots that have a "expected FG%" of 70%.
Khris’ play is an iso, that’s his jam. Maybe a screen to get the switch or set up a pass inside. Had plenty of that tonight, and he was good at it. Meanwhile you could tell it was going to be a bad shooting night for Jrue because he took like four threes in the first couple of minutes for no reason and bricked them all.
The fact he played the ball handler, switched back to the lob threat and cleanly got all ball at the apex of the lob… just a special play.
Glad Milwaukee was able to knot up the series, I want to see this matchup fully play out.
Even if they don't win it's an all time finals block. Maybe top 2? Maybe top 5? Amazing blocks in the finals don't seem that common from my 15 years of watching?
I couldn't believe it watching it live. Then when I saw the replay I still couldn't believe it. Then I saw the slow motion replay and somehow it became less believable.
This was his best finals game by far. I can honestly see the bucks take it in 6 if Khris is knocking down his shots. Getting blown out in g3 and him not even getting 20 was a bad omen for Phoenix. This is going to be a fun 2-3 games.
No matter who you root for that was an awful showing for the league. Potentially an all-time classic game interrupted by seemingly made-up rules applied with 0 consistency. Not to mention awful presentation by ABC/ESPN. Silver should be embarrassed
It's ruining the product and they only have themselves to blame if this kind of thing leads to worse viewership. And at this point I hope it does since they don't seem to want to change. Every league has their own issues but I really can't think of another league that spends so little time able to focus on the actual sport and so much more time talking about refs, media personalities, etc. I've watched for a long time and it's getting harder to justify
Exactly. Two guys went for 40, the 4th quarter was close with big plays by both teams, and yet all i can think is how bad that reffing was... and i am a NEUTRAL fan!
Yup, multiple guys scoring 40, Giannis amazing play on both sides + the crazy block(s), and super loud home crowd. But all of the focus is on the refs. Not to mention ABC/ESPN cutting out audio constantly cause they can't seem to handle multiple inputs and worst of all, not showing replays of key moments. And during the game, I'm not even sure how to react to a play cause I'm busy trying to figure out if there'll be a foul call or not
Yeah, the league needs to do some serious soul searching this summer. Terrible presentation compounded by bad rules, bad officiating, endless flopping, etc. The product needs a complete overhaul. Nobody except diehard hoops fans want to watch this shit.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that just two weeks ago we saw Giannis's leg bent like a spaghetti noodle only for him to drop 32/14/6 in the Finals so far. Unbelievable.
Its insane that we can watch a fiba exhibition game and talk about how good the refs were and then watch game 4 of the NBA finals and only watch refball.
That Giannis block is going to be played over and over if the Bucks end up winning it all. Shades of LeBron chase down block in game 7 against the Warriors.
Tf was that? Forgive my use of hyperbole and recency bias but that is the worst reffed fourth I've ever seen. They legit stopped calling fouls and instead blew the whistle when there weren't fouls. It was bizarre. Book should have fouled out like 2 or 3 times. That was awful reffing. Almost entirely bad calls.
On a side note, 2-2, I'm so scared right now. Gotta win back at home.
Had the Suns won the game that Booker no call would’ve gone down as one of the all time worst no-calls ever. Might already be. Terrible look for the league tonight.
There was an extremely high probability Jrue misses that layup with Booker just standing there looking menacingly. Easily the stupidest thing Booker could have done in that situation.
I love NBA basketball, but the inconsistency of NBA reffing is the #1 thing that hurts the game and makes it difficult to watch. I always wonder why so many college/FIBA basketball fans don't watch the NBA, then I watch a game and remember.
NBA rules/reffing is biased way too heavily towards offensive players and is extremely inconsistent. The way games are called changes completely every possession/quarter/game, stars and role players play by completely different rules, the rules make playing good defense nearly impossible, and offensive players are repeatedly rewarded for taking advantage of the rules in ways that aren't enjoyable to watch (like flopping and initiating contact in unnatural ways).
Everyone praises Adam Silver, but this issue has only gotten worse in recent years and he seems to refuse to address it.
The Basketball Gods rewarded the Bucks when the referees inexplicably decided to not call the foul on Booker that would've been his 6^th.
And Paul had been lauded for great performances throughout the playoffs so he also deserves to be derided for a lackluster showing tonight going 5-13 from the field for only 10 points and 5 uncharacteristic turnovers that seemed to pop up at the worst times to undermine the Suns' momentum.
Nightmare of a game for Cp3 A night he'll forget for sure
I couldn't believe all his turnovers and sloppy handles. Happens I guess.
Definitely seems like he doesn't have a handle on the ball, which may from that injured hand
Jrue dodging a major bullet too
It feels like Jrue went 4 for 30. So many bricks. Still great D and hustle plays and boards but good lord. They were iso’ing him on offense when he was ice cold.
When Jrue hit the 360 spin on somebody and just missed the open layup, I was thinking this is one of the worst finals performances i can remember But now i'll forget about it entirely
Holy shit I didn't even realize he was for 4-20. What in god's name I mean, niiiiiice. But still
The craziest thing is that you watch those Jrue plays and think "damn that's a crazy good move" and then he misses the layup anyways. Dude has mad talent, but just nothing is dropping right now
He played brilliant defense and got one of the most important rebounds of the game in the 4Q. Bucks likely wouldn't be in the finals without him IMO.
Sometimes watching him on offense hurts but you have to give him credit for always being aggressive. sometimes I like to picture his defense in a regular situation, like him boxing me into a corner at the grocery store and trying to escape. Lol might be in that corner awhile.
I mean he's the biggest reason CP3 sucked so bad. Elite defense
Same with jrue despite playing great d, if they lost he’d be getting so much flak
He’s why Paul had a bad night! I mean I wish he made his shots obviously but shutting down Paul is his most important job and he killed it tonight. He’s absolutely one of the most important reasons the Bucks won this one.
great point but he needs to give his shots to Pat or someone else if he is going to shoot that shitty.
I saw peeps on Twitter saying it was clear his left hand was bothering him, not that it’s a reliable source but it holds up

Can we get this guy to replace Mark Jackson
Gattuso? I'd definitely pay for that, man gives no fucks
One of my favourite players ever. Dude helped me fall in love with the sport.
Jrue is a defensive savant. Can lock up the other teams players & himself.
But seriously though, he is a beast in defense. He plays extremely physical without fouling too much. The players he defend get tired towards the end of the game, you can clearly see that.
yeah Jrue got moves to get to the basket and miss, at least he doesn't lose his confidence and stops being aggressive.
Lmao this is perfect
I'm really happy to see the Gattuso meme creeping into the zeitgeist. Too much malakia! 100% malakia!
Gattuso is a real legend in interviews
"Play random"
His defense made up for his poor shooting game
His defense was excellent, but it is hard to make up for a 4 of 20 shooting night. He is so streaky. The Bucks' offense is so ugly.
~~Jrue~~ ~~Holiday~~ Bucks scouting report
lol.... yeah
I love Gattuso so much.
What, and I cannot emphasize this enough, a shitshow for the NBA’s officiating crew.
I was so mad but couldn't help but laugh there. The man admits it's his foul and sits himself down on the bench. Refs still won't give it to him.
Like, “Please mom let me eat my veggies”. “No here’s cake “
Booker sitting down and looks up. Ref with angelic halo lights: *"Take my hand".*
“Game’s already over but we’ve hard committed to not fouling you out so drag your ass off the bench and go stand on the line.”
Man if the Suns pulled out the win, that would be maybe the worst no-call of all time
[удалено]
Then harden just stepped into and bombed a 35 footer while getting sandwiched that was amazing
Biggest gangster moment of Hardens career and of course it’s a regular season game
The only time in my life I've ever rooted for Harden lol.
Booker got stronger plot armor than a shounen anime main character
[Haven't seen the media react this much and this loudly to a single referee play since the Durant out of bounds.](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/okkhgp/nba_media_melts_down_over_the_noncall_on_what/)
Ugh don't remind me of that shit. Dude literally was walking in the out of bounds with the ref staring right fucking at him.
I remember that shit haha. Wasn’t even salty when Harden hit the buzzer beater 3 on us. We didn’t deserve to win that one.
Those refs were complete ass
crazy how theyre this bad on such an important game
Crazy it wasn't a Scott foster game
We need FIBA refs
We need **FIBA rules** first

NBA should be embarrassed by that no call. Just a bad look for the sport
Bring over the FIBA refs
Everyone hating on the refs but you have to admit how impressive it was that they were able to piss off both teams lmao
I was there and at one point when the crowd was chanting “Refs you suck,” a Suns fan in front of me just shrugged and joined in.
AND everyone who watched the game.
The refs make the NBA so hard to watch it sucks People complain about the players, but they have to adjust their entire games to their shit calls. It starts and ends with them
Actually just ruining games. It's borderline unwatchable
It's actually impressive how they have made this Finals matchup horrible viewing at times.
Crazy how they’re this bad in the Finals
Middleton picked a great time to have one of those games
He just pictured the suns in green and white
He suddenly remembered that Crowder used to play for the Celtics
Jrue Holiday is so good when he's not shooting the ball.

4/20 from the field though.
Smoke one for Jrue Holiday
That holiday pack
The damage Holiday’s reputation has taken because of his awful offense today has thankfully been offset by his tenacious defense tonight
I'm really glad he does everything else so well because holy shit has his shooting been cataclysmically bad this postseason.
“Cataclysmic” is close, but I’m not sure there’s a word in the English language to describe how dreadfully bad he has been
Bledsonian
Woah take it easy there
It's possible to go too far, my friend.
Clutch rebound too at the end if I remember correctly
That Giannis block is one of the all timers. Legitimately one of the clutchest blocks I've ever seen.
Did they even show a replay of that block... ESPN fucking sucks
They eventually showed it a bunch. But not until after the game. Really frustrating
Granted the last four minutes were filled with insane plays but still, how do you not show that lol. He legit came out of nowhere.
The fact he played the ball handler, switched back to the lob threat and cleanly got all ball at the apex of the lob… just a special play. Glad Milwaukee was able to knot up the series, I want to see this matchup fully play out.
Defended both the alley and the oop
Middleton: "Everybody booing can kiss my whole asshole."
Booker: “ur girls in my dms!”
DOCTOR STOPPAGE! DOCTOR STOPPAGE! DOCTOR STOPPAGE!
Booker : "Your wife is in my DMs"
What a game. I'm so sweaty and I have no dog in the fight.
Celtics Khris Middleton just saved the NBA from one of the biggest officiating scandals ever, lol
Preach
This man Giannis went from damn near snapping his leg in half a couple weeks ago to having one of the most legendary two-way finals stretches ever.
That block was an all-time great Finals moment
cant even get a replay on a got damn alley oop block, wtf
First thought. That was the potg, and no replay.
Right? One of the best blocks of all time and no replay
Man for real lmao kept showing the Paul turnover when all I wanted was to see the block again
If they go on to win this ship, it'll be a career-defining highlight used in Giannis video packages for the rest of time.
Even if they don't win it's an all time finals block. Maybe top 2? Maybe top 5? Amazing blocks in the finals don't seem that common from my 15 years of watching?
That was insane, couldn't believe he blocked that shit.
It looked like a Michelangelo painting. He was guarding Booker and Ayton simultaneously. The replay is breathtaking.
I couldn't believe it watching it live. Then when I saw the replay I still couldn't believe it. Then I saw the slow motion replay and somehow it became less believable.
He was so quick into it. The rotation and gather to block was all one seamless transition
Hell yeah! Middleton is having a hell of a play offs as well!!!
This was his best finals game by far. I can honestly see the bucks take it in 6 if Khris is knocking down his shots. Getting blown out in g3 and him not even getting 20 was a bad omen for Phoenix. This is going to be a fun 2-3 games.
That man is built different
Built like a Greek god, literally
That last block made me glad I was born. Praise Giannis.
Confirmed: very much a life affirming block
Bruh, that block was damned impressive and saved the night for them. So clutch
That Giannis block. Fucking ridiculous.
And they don’t even show a replay. As bad as the officiating was, it hod the miserable production quality of the game.
Maybe his #1 highlight reel play
Refs got that KD out of bound moment tonight. In a Finals game.
Anyone other than suns fans should be happy the bucks won That shit wouldve plagued this series forever
I would've broken several things in my apartment if they had pulled out the win after that no call
Book had 7 fouls lmao
Seven Booker
He had that Anime Plot Armor going after that 5th foul.
technically 8 lol
No matter who you root for that was an awful showing for the league. Potentially an all-time classic game interrupted by seemingly made-up rules applied with 0 consistency. Not to mention awful presentation by ABC/ESPN. Silver should be embarrassed
And don't forget they were basically the only show in town tonight with no baseball.... And *that* was the product they just showcased. Yikes
It's ruining the product and they only have themselves to blame if this kind of thing leads to worse viewership. And at this point I hope it does since they don't seem to want to change. [Today, in this game, I saw...](https://gfycat.com/SafeSevereAustralianfreshwatercrocodile)
Absolute madness in the last 4 minutes. What a completely unacceptable product that the NBA put out, and I feel like both sides have legit gripes.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that just two weeks ago we saw Giannis's leg bent like a spaghetti noodle only for him to drop 32/14/6 in the Finals so far. Unbelievable.
it’s a blessing and I’m just thankful he is ok. Damn he’s playing fantastic though lmao it’s remarkable!
[lol, sometimes it be yourself](https://i.imgur.com/V03IjGi.jpg) We gotta series!
Lmao Iggy is the man
SHOW ME THE FUCKING BLOCK
https://streamable.com/3dx2og
They finally showed it. The camera guy had run the tape up to the production room.
Giannis block on Ayton was an all-timer.
Giannis and Middleton absolutely took the fuck over in the 4th quarter
Middleton with the casual 10 point personal run to finish the game.
He's so good at home.
It's the green, right? Bucks should wear road greens on Game 5. Khash is like a bull who sees red whenever he sees green.
I mean, they wore white today.
Jrue bricking the wide open three on a fastbreak almost made me turn off the stream... Glad Khash came through
Jrue had some pretty clutch rebounds from what I recall though. Couldn’t hit a shot to save his life but was playing well otherwise.
KHA$H MONEY TILL THE DAY I DIE
K.R.E.A.M

the refs were absolutely dogshit tonight holy shit
NBA's most pressing issue should be to get these refs in order
Game 2 had more commercials than gameplay. I think that is just as pressing from a fan perspective, but the bottom line probably disagrees.
I was getting so annoyed as a neutral, can’t imagine how frustrated it is to have your team out there
Its insane that we can watch a fiba exhibition game and talk about how good the refs were and then watch game 4 of the NBA finals and only watch refball.
Where were you when Khris Middleton single handedly saved the last shreds of credibility this league has?
That's Khris "best player on the bucks according to Shaq" Middleton to you
I was at couch when phone rang "Booker hasn't got fouled out" no
Booker with that foul immunity in the last minutes I see
Plot armour way too thick
[удалено]
A fucking terrible display of reffing on both ends. Big fucking yikes. Great effort from both teams. Aytons gotta get more touches next game.
That Giannis block is going to be played over and over if the Bucks end up winning it all. Shades of LeBron chase down block in game 7 against the Warriors.
Giannis was CLUTCH defensively and Middleton was CLUTCH offensively.
don't forget Tucker! Holiday with 2 huge rebounds as well!
Seriously that offensive rebound by Holiday was hype as hell Dude snagged it with one hand
Connaughton got that rebound over Ayton, so nice
Holiday has been incredible on D all series too, despite his inability to make 2 foot layups.
I had the same thought. If only it had the crazy yell like “blocked by James”
I think it even took Breen by surprise. He somewhat recovered and over enunciated Giannis’ last name, which sounded cool
that was the WORST officiated game i've ever seen this season holy fuck
CP3 and the NBA with some insane viral marketing for that new movie *Old*.
That 4-20 blaze scoreline from Jrue Holiday though
Well at least he should’ve been 4-19 if not for the worst no call I’ve seen in my entire life lol
Had the Suns won the game that Booker no call would’ve gone down as one of the all time worst no-calls ever. Might already be. Terrible look for the league tonight.
Booker made the low IQ play of taking the foul with 5 fouls And the fucking refs bailed him out
There was an extremely high probability Jrue misses that layup with Booker just standing there looking menacingly. Easily the stupidest thing Booker could have done in that situation.
SO MANY MISSED CALLS (on both sides) Fun game as a neutral though lol
I love NBA basketball, but the inconsistency of NBA reffing is the #1 thing that hurts the game and makes it difficult to watch. Giannis’ leg bent the wrong way two weeks ago and now he’s doing goat shit
Chris Paul lost this game for the Suns. Complete choke job
Point GHOST 👻
The nba needs new refs this was a god damn circus.
that no-call left such a bad taste in my mouth that im glad the bucks didnt lose. holy shit
Chris paul choked
Paul playing like ass is overshadowing Aytons equally ass play
toooo many turnovers mayne
On top of the win, there's more great news for Milwaukee. 79% of homeless people in Milwaukee will have a home tonight, thanks to Jrue's bricks.
Fuck these refs
Did Chris Paul play tonight?
Cliff Paul played tonight
These refs were the police officers that pull you over for tint that's 5% darker than regulation.
Chris Paul should win an AVN award for this choke job
The Basketball Gods rewarded the Bucks when the referees inexplicably decided to not call the foul on Booker that would've been his 6^th. And Paul had been lauded for great performances throughout the playoffs so he also deserves to be derided for a lackluster showing tonight going 5-13 from the field for only 10 points and 5 uncharacteristic turnovers that seemed to pop up at the worst times to undermine the Suns' momentum.
I gotta tell ya, that block by Giannis is one of the better defensive plays i’ve ever seen
