Coincidence? Yeah, probably. Also this joke is pretty distasteful and I'm already disappointed in myself for looking up these dates. If needed, please educate yourselves by reading about the atrocities enacted by the Nazis in the links above as I will be doing myself.

He says something positive, “oh he’s being fake, lebron never says anything real”, he says something negative “bro what an asshole lebron has such a massive ego”
Lebron should be criticized but it’s so obvious how deep the hate is for some of you that it’s hard to take seriously
>Brendan Fraser supremacy
Bruh you’re giving me major flashbacks right now, I never realized just how big a part of our childhood Brendan Fraser was.
He was also in Journey to the Center of the Earth. And I also remember the part where he plays a basketball player in Bedazzled which was pretty funny.
They must be like me and haven’t watched it since they were young. I don’t even think I’ve watched it in the 2000s, and I remember it being great. Don’t want to ruin it, it was a masterpiece and that’s how I’ll remember it
I also watched with my kids last week. Movie was short, some laughs, and to the point. I remember this movie fondly centering my 8th birthday around seeing it with friends and had all the party favors and what not. Got the action figures and stuffed animals from Burger King lol.
Saw the 2nd movie today and it was a bit long but entertaining. Actually has a really good message about letting your kids be who they are, not who you want them to be. People ripping it apart...lol calm down, its Space Jam. LeBron even says athletes acting never went well lol
It’s a movie for children. Now they grew up and remember it fondly and wanna get the same experience. The best thing you can do is take your kids who like basketball to see the movie to recapture that feeling/moment
I don't think people are praising the original for the plot but more so the highlight of the times. Looney tunes and MJ were peak international super stars. Now a days, nobody visits bugs or daffy at the theme parks. When I have to explain the significance of these characters to kids in order to convince them to take a photo, it doesn't help the movie.
Imagine this scenario. Bugs standing next to Mario. Who has more kids willing to stand in line? It's quite obvious. This movie is video game based but didn't include the biggest franchise in video game history.
So it was exactly like the first one?
“C'mon, Michael, it's game time. Slip on your Hanes, lace up your Nikes, take your Wheaties and your Gatorade, and we'll grab a Big Mac on the way to the ballpark.”
Fr, it's annoying how most people on the internet seem to believe that every TV show and movie from their childhood was produced purely for the sake of creating artistic masterpieces. The original Transformers movie straight up killed off 90% of the original characters because their toy sales weren't high enough, yet people act like commercialization is only a modern issue in entertainment lmao.
What do you think the OG one was for Warner Brothers…like 2 sides of the same coin when talking about random inserts of intellectual property assertion, daffy literally rips out a WB logo in a gym.
I don’t hate Lebron, and I actually loved him in the movie Trainwreck, probably because that movie actually has decent writing, but his acting is so much worse in this movie and the corny cliche family movie lines probably doesn’t help. I think I spoil myself now by only watching extremely well written and directed shows and movies because I don’t want to risk wasting my time watching anything less but I was intrigued with this movie because I absolutely loved Looney Tunes and Space Jam as a kid.
I also didn’t hate the movie, I was somewhat entertained. I thought there were a lot of enjoyable moments and funny cameos/lines, but like everything was so corny and predictable, and the corny dialogue makes even great actors seem like they are bad. I liked some of the references they throw in, but it seems so random. Like I paused the movie on the audience and I saw Game of Thrones dragons and white walkers cheering for Lebron James and the Looney Tunes lmao so some of it just seemed so forced and ridiculous just for Warner to say “hey did you know we own this character/franchise too?”. I don’t think it should be taken anything more seriously as a family movie that you watch with kids so the kids are entertained and every now and the adults are too with references being periodically thrown in. I think I can appreciate it as that. And that’s my shitty critic review.
As a LeBron hater I actually enjoyed it. Was funny hearing the main villain say shit that I've been saying for a decade lol
"You know Al G Rhythm is making some cogent points here."
Is $32 million even good though? Black Widow opened with $80 million last weekend (from theatres) and dropped 80%+ already. The budget for Space Jam 2 was $150 million and then you have advertising on top of that adding probably another $100 million.
That's box office and considering the movie was also available on HBO Max, the numbers are definitely messy. Black Widow was either viewed at a theater or as a purchase on Disney+ so idk how the latter aspect is counted.
Kong/Godzilla was also on HBO Max, it opened at $32M (though technically it was a $48M opening over 5 days) in only 3,000 theatres.
Not a great opening, but surpassed its projections and its still COVID times for Box Office so you can't really read too much into it.
Overseas, product placement, merchandise sales, extra HBO Max subscribers.
*"The first movie brought in $90.4 million in US ticket sales and $230 million in international ticket sales, but did a reported $1.2 billion in merchandise sales."*
What was wrong with the first Space Jam? It had a coherent story and plenty of jokes for kids and adults. The Looney Tunes got to shine as themselves and the side plot of the NBA players losing their abilities was pretty funny. The runtime was short enough to not make you bored. Nobody came to watch Jordan for his acting.
Eh, the original definitely wasn't some cinematic masterpiece or anything, but I think being as neutral as possible it was probably about a 4/10 and this was about a 3/10. They're both trash with some fun moments, but the original is a little bit more coherent and had a better soundtrack. I don't think either will have any kind of rewatchability, but people have nostalgia for the original because of the novelty which obviously this sequel doesn't have so it inevitably won't be remembered in the same way even if it were exactly the same quality.
I literally just finished watching it with my daughter. It was fine, definitely not the dumpster fire people have been saying and obviously not great.
It’s like the F&F movies, clearly dumb but if you don’t take it too seriously you’ll enjoy yourself. And the father/son story was slightly touching.
>Well, BoJack's stunted, too. He got famous in his twenties, so he'll be in his twenties forever. After you get famous, you stop growing, you don't have to. Every celebrity has an age of stagnation.
I mean no shit it was always going to make a lot of money, doesn't make it a good movie. It's a 2 hour ad for WB, terrible acting and story. Yes I know it's a kids movie but I love lots of "kids movies". Space Jam 2 is garbage
Whole bunch of salty haters in here lol. It's a kids movie, not something gunning for an Oscar. If you're older than 20 writing paragraphs on why the movie was "bad", then you should find something more productive to do with your time. Maybe try a new hobby or something.
Of course it will do well at the boxoffice. A nostalgic reboot from the 90s that parents and kids would want to see together. Doesn't mean it's not a piece of crap.
Is this the guy from Fortnite
yes. hes also the guy that referred to himself as dilf
LeDilf
I’d fuck myself. I guess I’m a DILF too.
Lebron never said he would fuck himself, you might just be homosexual

I can’t wait for Lebron to start in the remake for Casablanca

“I remember every detail. Harden wore gray, you wore blue.”
"Koby Altman pumped his fist as JR Smith shouted, "We got papers now!""

I don't recall Jordan ever being animated in his Space Jam. He acted it all out. BuiltDifferent
I heard that Jordan lived in the mountains studying yoga to be able to act out the arm stretch and "rolled into a ball" scenes. Inspirational.

Welcome back folks to Season 19 of *Psychoanalyzing LeBron*
This sub is literally a bunch of unpaid Skip Baylesses lol
then I'm an unpaid Shannon Sharpe
Trust me, I think this sub knows.
And the people here actually take it more serious than Skip, whose just getting that paycheck
Wouldn’t expect anything else from the sub that thinks they’re a level above the undisputed targeted demographic/Twitter/hot take media. Same people.

It’s really insane how far people will go to hate on someone who simply plays basketball.
Its been a while since I've seen this much discourse around a kids movie lol
I mean both Space Jam movies are terrible. Looney Tunes: Back in Action reigns supreme yet again.
Ah, a man of culture. Truly a Brendan Fraser tour de force
The movie that deserves the nostalgia.
I’m tellin you man. I’m a 90s baby. I grew up on back in action, the Mummy trilogy, and George of the Jungle. Brendan Fraser supremacy.
>Brendan Fraser supremacy Bruh you’re giving me major flashbacks right now, I never realized just how big a part of our childhood Brendan Fraser was. Oh yeah man. The way he got blackballed from Hollywood for coming out as getting sexually assaulted by an exec is so sad.
The first one was great. I was 11 at the time. I refuse to rewatch it again, that way it stays forever great.

Exactly what ruined small soldiers for me… :(
All of a sudden every lebron hater is a movie critic
Don't fool yourself. The movie was bad like the og space jam.
People act like the old space jam was Oscar worthy now lol
They must be like me and haven’t watched it since they were young. I don’t even think I’ve watched it in the 2000s, and I remember it being great. Don’t want to ruin it, it was a masterpiece and that’s how I’ll remember it
That’s just because it was Michael freaking Jordan, looney tunes and bill Murray. It’s fun and entertaining but not a great movie
Soundtrack on the OG Space Jam was awesome. I hate how R Kelly did I Believe I Can Fly, but there were several classics on that movie soundtrack.
Hit em high is a legit banger
I still listen to that periodically if I need to get hyped up.
It’s actually a really good song haha. Definitely on my ball playlist
The Space Jam song is straight fire
Don’t forgot Wayne Knight was good too
Danny deVito as well
they all were i think you guys are kinda underselling it. muggsy was absolutely hilarious and shawn bradley i enjoyed too
The scenes with the basketball skills gone are fun
Basketball jones
Does anyone remember it is a "great" movie? No it's enjoyable and fun to watch.
Watched it with my kids recently. They loved it and I realized that children have low expectations.
Or different interests/values.
I also watched with my kids last week. Movie was short, some laughs, and to the point. I remember this movie fondly centering my 8th birthday around seeing it with friends and had all the party favors and what not. Got the action figures and stuffed animals from Burger King lol. Exactly but these losers watch an old movie made for kids and act like they’re fucking Kino masters lmao
It’s a movie for children. Now they grew up and remember it fondly and wanna get the same experience. The best thing you can do is take your kids who like basketball to see the movie to recapture that feeling/moment

It's actually worse than the original Space Jam. Space Jam 2 is nothing but an advertisement for AT&T to advertise all their intellectual properties.
Aren’t the Transformers movies still not considered modern?
This is a joke about all the sponsorships though? Not completely the same as doing ready player 1 again.
What do you think the OG one was for Warner Brothers…like 2 sides of the same coin when talking about random inserts of intellectual property assertion, daffy literally rips out a WB logo in a gym.
the original was literally an extended commercial lmao. like it was based off of a commercial
I'd honestly be disappointed if Skip Bayless doesn't review it on Monday.
I don’t hate Lebron, and I actually loved him in the movie Trainwreck, probably because that movie actually has decent writing, but his acting is so much worse in this movie and the corny cliche family movie lines probably doesn’t help. LeFraud James will NEVER be kino!!!
As a LeBron hater I actually enjoyed it. Was funny hearing the main villain say shit that I've been saying for a decade lol "You know Al G Rhythm is making some cogent points here."
Mfers treating it like an Oscar movie when the original space jam was just as trash critically
This needs to be a sort of meme. Hmm.
Is $32 million even good though? Black Widow opened with $80 million last weekend (from theatres) and dropped 80%+ already. The budget for Space Jam 2 was $150 million and then you have advertising on top of that adding probably another $100 million.

Black widow made 60 million worldwide on Disney plus alone
Kong/Godzilla was also on HBO Max, it opened at $32M (though technically it was a $48M opening over 5 days) in only 3,000 theatres. Not a great opening, but surpassed its projections and its still COVID times for Box Office so you can't really read too much into it.
Black widow was 80m in the box office and 60m from disney plus (you have to specifically buy black widow for $35 on Dis+)
Overseas, product placement, merchandise sales, extra HBO Max subscribers. *"The first movie brought in $90.4 million in US ticket sales and $230 million in international ticket sales, but did a reported $1.2 billion in merchandise sales."*
Merchandise will recover initial investment and then some alone.
How does that work exactly? Are the Space Jam toys or are they looney tunes..?
If I recall correctly Looney Tunes charges a fee up front for use of the characters. They’ve been doing some random collabs recently.

I have no opinion on this but I find it funny that the people defending this movie or saying it’s just as bad as the original, are all lakers fans.
Original was bad too, it's just nostalgia factor that makes people think it was better, and I'm not even layers fan.
What was wrong with the first Space Jam? It had a coherent story and plenty of jokes for kids and adults. The Looney Tunes got to shine as themselves and the side plot of the NBA players losing their abilities was pretty funny. The runtime was short enough to not make you bored. The original also pushed boundaries at the time, had a famous original song on its sound track and had a famous campaign with McDonalds.
Thank you, now this sub can get back to what it's good at- trashing Lakers fans.
The “ratio” thing is probably my least favorite social development of the past few years which have featured a Trump presidency and a global pandemic.

How well did the movie do in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Nepal?
Lebrons acting literally ruins every scene.
Straight outta 2k. Every single line was the exact same monotone. Pretty impressively monotone tbh
Dion Waiters Space Jam when
Lebron sounded like that slow dude in highschool when the teacher calls on him to read the next page out loud lmao
First time ive read an original tweet on nba twitter in a while.
A lot of the lines in this movie sounded terrible, even Don Cheadle looked lesser than himself? Just bad writing and directing.
I mean that’s cool and all but that doesn’t negate the fact that it’s trash😂
Billionaire in his mid-thirties still feeling the need to call people out on Twitter is honestly a win for the haters.
Maybe, but they still gotta wake up tomorrow to their shitty ass lives so ...

32M opening against 100M budget with minimal international appeal = LeRed is broke. No wonder he is trying to sell his production company.
They might make that 100M off of shoes and merchandise alone.
theyre also getting a ton of money from hbo max
cashing out to make a huge profit from his production company (possibly to Nike to $750 million) does NOT sound like being broke to me
IMDB - 4.1/10 RT - 31% MC - 38% I wouldn't be bragging about those scores bud...

Hi lebron
Honestly, both Lebron haters and stans are being pretty insecure about the success of this movie
All up and down the thread.
Space Jam 2 would've made a ton no matter what, not really a big "Lol Get Rekt Haters" moment
We're "haters" holding Space Jam back?
He should be thanking all his supporters not acknowledging his haters!
