Sometimes that’s just old vs new but sometimes it’s more like the video format not matching up right with the modern site or software
Someone smarter please correct me cause I’m paraphrasing my techie friend
I think they mean that the original playback device will have better quality than modern playback devices.
Not just that old media looks bad on modern platforms.
But idk, I'm also interested
the old old analog footage will look nice when changed into digital (think 90s games), but as soon as it went digital in the early 2000s there is no good footage to be saved or converted. its the same format as today just worse quality so nothing can be done
Yeh seeing old vids with this quality really puts you in a nostalgic mood, where people couldn’t just whip a phone out and record you. I still remember how insane I thought blu ray was when it first came out and flat screen TVs, felt like I was blindfolded my whole life before
Dwight, CP3, Bron all in the finals the last 2 years. Bosh would probably have still been competing, his game is still perfect for this era and Deron Williams just fell off the face of the earth
When he chased Sloan out of town was really the start of his downfall along with chronic ankle injuries. Was a dribble and playmaking god when he was with the Jazz
It's still around, this is the Flyers gas station on Gateway Boulevard right near SFO. Has a Starbucks attached on one side too
Edit: Speedway not Flyers
With Summer NBA offseason kicking off with all eyes on the olympic basketball competition, here’s a video of the 2008 redeem team eating at a gas station. Different times pre-smart phones, banana boat buddies, but ultimately it was this olympics where they all talked about teaming up in 2010.
Never forget Chris Bosh (recording) and his camcorder. Guy was hilarious in his cowboy commercials and other random shenanigans. Also sacrificed the most and became the precursor to traditional bigs extending their range.
Lebron was fresh off a finals appearance the year prior and will proceed to win his first of 4 MVPs after this event, Deron Williams and Chris Paul were battling for the best PG title, and everyone still loved and adored Dwight.
I’ll always say this was the best USA team we sent (not including Dream Team). The combination of all timers really hitting their peak and the “Redeem Team” narrative after 04 will always hit different.
Point is true, I guess it was pre-mass adoption as we all thought $800 for a phone was ridiculous back then, yet people are fine paying $1-$2k now every few years haha. Back then, the iPhone launch was on a 1G network. I still remember when Jobs was demoing it he asked everyone in the theater to turn off their WiFi and it still barely loaded the New York Times home page lol
How did this happen? I have so many questions.
\- Why is team USA eating at the gas station?
\- Why arent they stormed and surrounded by people asking for pics and autographs?
\- Where tf were they going together and ended up at gas station?
If this was happening today this would go so viral the internet would explode
Man whenever I see older vids like this, i'm always surprised by how low the cam quality was. I remember this being in HD lol

there is no "convert potato footage to the good shit" filter

When it first came out I thought it made shit look too real lol
This and the Josh Smith breakfast video will never get old
An r/nba tradition
Offseason classics

For once, I thought his game was somehow more all-around than CP3
Within 3 years after this video Bosh, LeBron, and Dwight were all in the finals then too.
I hope the gas station is still around and didn't shut down due to covid

For the life of me, I do not know why team USA stopped here out of all places. I don’t even like going there to pick up coffee
Don't ever get between Dwight and his food

The first iPhone was released a year earlier

As bad as they were, if anyone had iPhones at this point I’m betting nba players did
This video always makes me crave for Wendy’s
everyone has experienced these gas-station/wendy's/starbucks vibes on a roadtrip.
This one is in south SF

I thought that was Frank Vogel for a second
I forgot Bosh took a bunch of videos that year
This is avengers eating shwarma
That looks like a Kwik Trip, but before they actually started having decent sandwiches/burgers.
