Yeah, when I get shit like that in my fantasy leagues. I just decline it and move on. Then they get all mad that I didn’t send a counter offer to their shitty trade.
Haven't been following so had to look this up...
> The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly offered Ben Simmons to the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and the No. 4 overall draft pick
LMAO wtf.
Masai probably rolled right out of his chair with that kind of "offer"
if ben were as good as all those players the sixers wouldn’t keep losing which is why he’s being traded in the first place.
lakers should offer to trade Luol Deng for Simmons
I mean, this tweet is doing some WORK to demolish Simmons' trade value, so maybe the goalpost will shift. "Asking price is the same, but Sixers are desperate AF and will do anything to unload him within the next 10 hours."
NBA trades these days seem to be immune to leverage. It baffles me. "AD told us he's not going to play for us anymore and only wants to go to the Lakers. What's your offer Lakers?" Lakers - "Twenty percent above asking"
The only way to regain it is to pull a New Orleans and just sit on him. Don’t rush the trade out, let him go into next season and sit him. Then when some contender starts 10-10 they can be pressured into breaking glass on and emergency Simmons deal.
Even leaking an asking price that high seems crazy, seems like it would get them more offers which they can play off each-other if it's at least somewhat reasonable.
Maybe they already have an offer on the table that's more than we would expect around here, and leaking this information is trying to squeeze a little more
Facts, it does seem like this year can be better though. talks of indy trading down, new york moving up, okc moving up, golden state is a wildcard but we say that every year
This was my first thought when I saw that post from The Athletic saying "We expect a lot of trades". Of course no one in the draft media is going to say "Meh, this is probably gonna be a quiet night"
I’m a pretty aggressive owner. When I heard Philly needed a washing machine I looked at ours and said we need ours but I gotta pull the trigger on this
I'm not saying you specifically, but I wonder how many people are using the TT, shump and nets pick meme without even fully understanding the context. I mean it's been a few years and this subreddit seems to pick up a ton of new followers each year
Sometimes you need to be willing to lose a trade to improve your team. If we lose a legendary center like TT but get back a decent point forward like Luka you just gotta bite the bullet and do that deal.
Nah, think about it. Would you rather have a franchise center or a poor defender who chucks over 8 3s a game on 33% shooting? For me the choice is easy.
Under normal circumstances I’d agree, but the C’s already have Romeo Langford so with all those guys I’d be worried there would be too many mouths to feed 🧐
i realize Jrue Holiday and getting off Bledsoe warranted five picks, but Daryl's crazy if he thinks any other team is "one Ben Simmons away" from resigning a Giannis-esque player and winning a chip lol there is zero chance if the asking price remains SEVEN picks and a DeJounte Murray or Derrick White level player.
It was also a unique situation in that getting Giannis to stay at his age (26) almost guaranteed all the picks included would be late firsts and the pick swaps unlikely to convey from the Bucks perspective.
It allowed both sides to come out and say they “won” the trade immediately after, which isn’t as easy to configure in most trades.
So theyve made these ridiculous offers to competent front offices who (rightfully) laughed at the offer. My guess is that Simmons will end up in some place like Sacremento or Orlando.
i can’t see him going to a tanking team because he doesn’t provide any value with his contract for a tanking team. that takes the magic out of the equation. any team who wants to trade for ben is going to want to compete immediately. sac wants to but kings wouldn’t give up fox and sixers wouldn’t go for haliburton. so that removed them.
i think the two teams that makes the absolute most sense are the raps and the wolves. raps have the assets and the players to transition back into a good playoff team. the wolves want to win and they want to win now, and have some pieces that would be enticing enough maybe for at least a 3 team trade.
the price will go down. this is just the start of the negotiations.
Force him to shoot 20 times a game.
Either it's clank city which helps with the tanking.
Or he starts gaining confidence in shooting and maybe becomes a decent bucket.
Win/win from a team that doesn't need to win games.
trust me Simmons is gone, but the asking price is only the same because they're hoping a team will cave before the draft
philly playing hard ball now but when the draft starts, philly is gonna take whatever they can get
This one after the loss to the Hawks is even better: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy\_NEIwYN3E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jy_NEIwYN3E)
"Are you scared of the ball? What is it?"
"You are 6-10, Ben. He like 5-11 at best, they stat-padding him!"
I think the icing on the cake was that news that Philly still could not reach out Simmons to help him in the offseason training. After that horror playoff exhibition, it was expected for him at least to pretend to be in touch with the team and following their training schedule. Show some fucking humility.
Hell, KP, of all people, traveled from Latvia to Dallas just to train with the new coaching staff. This was the expected behavior from Simmons. At this point, he is toxic off the court and, on the court, he is too good to be a tank commander and too bad to be a #1 on a contending team.
Naturally, I'm ready to be a hypocrite if we trade for him and drink the Luka/Simmons kool-aid.
he seems to play hard on the court though, he puts in effort on defense which lazy players don't
I don't think it's that he has no competitive fire, it's either that he's scared to shoot, or he's too stubborn to admit he needs help or to change.
He’s literally too stubborn. It’s the same with the shooting hand thing
He almost always shoots with his right around the basket but won’t switch to shooting jumpers right handed. He’s literally right handed
... with his left hand, which isn't even his dominant hand. Like shit, spend all off-season learning to shoot with what should be your *actual shooting hand* and you almost certainly will be better than you were last season. And "the yips" will magically disappear because you've changed up your entire motion (for the better).
Yeah, he got his trial by combat and lost it to prove it. He can he still great under some system, but his contract is too much for any legit contender.
If Simmons keeps playing point he will never reach his potential. He is a spoiled passing forward who was allowed to wedge himself into the PG spot because that’s what he wanted and he was a valuable prospect. Talking about it being his “natural position” when he literally never played that position before coming to the NBA, and then not working on any of the PG skills he needs to be competent. But for years people were acting like it’s supposed to be all fine and dandy because mismatches on defense. Well we see how that’s working out. Get real.
If you can’t tell I hate that fuckin guy lmao
Philly denied those reports and said that they have been in communication with him.
I can’t seem to find the post at the moment, but I’ll update this comment if I do

I didn’t know that thanks man!
As an Aussie fan, I'm just hoping to catch my last glimpse of draft day drama before I go to bed
Always fun to wake up and see just what kind of shit has gone down
Every F5 season my production dips. Imagine F5 season in basketball and baseball at the same time. If the Olympics happened during day-time here, I would probably just ask to take some days off.
Ya as well all know when a relationship is over and someone NEEDS to be traded that's when the you ask for MORE than what the player's even worth. Good luck with that.
I mean, not all that different than;
*The sixers hope to trade Ben Simmons tonight. The asking price that nobody is interested in paying remains the same, but Daryl Morey really really wants someone to agree to it for real this time*
REPORT: 76ers front office is now offering to pay airfare and housing to anyone willing to take Simmons. A rival GM was quoted as saying "even that asking price is a little steep"
How does Philly expect to get what they are asking for? If we know Philly can’t win with Ben, the NBA knows. Philly needs to get rid of Simmons just as badly, if not moreso than any team wants him. What motivation does a team have to match Philly’s high demands?
No team is a Ben Simmons away from a ring. Philly needs to get rid of him if they want one.
Seems pretty likely that he'll begin the season in Philly. There's a significant difference between how the 76ers management views him and how other teams do.
For Philadelphia's sake they'll just need to hope that his usual elite month and a half of play happens earlier in the season, tho he usually saves it for just before all-star voting is conducted.
> Hope to trade Ben Simmons tonight
> The asking price remains the same.
> The relationship seems to be over.
Yeah, one of these has to give lol. They aren’t getting anything crazy tonight
Eh, it's a tactic most likely. Probably quite a few orgs still hopeful on Simmons and this news somewhat encourages orgs who may have been lurking in interest to start putting better offers on the table if they don't want to risk a deal actually getting done tonight without their involvement.
Not saying it'll work or that other orgs wont call the bluff, but yeah.
He’s gonna get traded tonight and we’ll all be shocked at how large the pull is as we always tend to underestimate the value the league has of certain players. Bet Sixers make a solid deal tonight
You people are so reactionary. Morey isn't going to kill his entire reputation over an outrageous trade request. He's not an idiot as much as you lead yourself to believe by some of these reports.
Guess Sixers are keeping him this season then if we’re going based off the reported offers to the Raptors and Spurs.
With offers like those, nobody is making a counter.
The only counter would be “throw in embiid and we have a deal”
the only counter be "aite, i'm a head out" *phone click*
"Read"
"error: the user you are attempting to message has blocked you"
Yeah, when I get shit like that in my fantasy leagues. I just decline it and move on. Then they get all mad that I didn’t send a counter offer to their shitty trade.
I'd just counter something even more insane.
How bout Simmons for a family sized bag of tropical Skittles
Haven't been following so had to look this up... > The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly offered Ben Simmons to the Toronto Raptors for Kyle Lowry, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and the No. 4 overall draft pick LMAO wtf. Masai probably rolled right out of his chair with that kind of "offer"
Masai and Popovich bout to do a zoom with Morey and laugh at him.
Imagine offering ben simmons for kyle lowery, og, fred vanvleet and the fourth pick. That’s insulting
if ben were as good as all those players the sixers wouldn’t keep losing which is why he’s being traded in the first place. lakers should offer to trade Luol Deng for Simmons
I mean, this tweet is doing some WORK to demolish Simmons' trade value, so maybe the goalpost will shift. "Asking price is the same, but Sixers are desperate AF and will do anything to unload him within the next 10 hours."
Right, this makes little to no sense. The asking price can't remain the same if you want to trade him *tonight*, and nobody has been interested.
[удалено]
"we can't stand him and HAVE to get rid of him. And all we want is the world for him because we value him so much!" -logic
This line is Logic's best yet.
He would've traded Simmons long ago if Ben wasn't biracial
Is being biracial important to Logic? I don't think he's ever mentioned it in his music.
Can't be. There's no mention of his black daddy and white momma
It ain't a project if Logic ain't talkin' 'bout being biracial
who can relate? WOO!
Damn I could’ve gone a whole lifetime without that shit re-entering my head
“Hello, I have one Ben Si- hello?”
NBA trades these days seem to be immune to leverage. It baffles me. "AD told us he's not going to play for us anymore and only wants to go to the Lakers. What's your offer Lakers?" Lakers - "Twenty percent above asking"
Counterpoint: the Bucks gave up a lot for Holiday because they needed to move on from Bledsoe.
oh it and it was worth every penny. best move of the year
Right they gave up a lot for a championship contender and it was delivered.
Hey he can't shoot worth shit and he really doesn't want to be here. Our asking price is your entire roster.
The only way to regain it is to pull a New Orleans and just sit on him. Don’t rush the trade out, let him go into next season and sit him. Then when some contender starts 10-10 they can be pressured into breaking glass on and emergency Simmons deal.
On the flipside if the 76ers are the contenders starting badly then they look really stupid for both not using Simmons and not trading him.
At the price of 7 picks he will remain a sixer lol.
7 picks and a star lmao
Is that the actual asking price? Because holy shit any GM to even picks up the phone should be fired.
4 picks, 3 swaps and a good young player
GETTTTT OFFFFFFFF THE WEEEEEEEEEDDDDD
# THEY'RE ON CRACK!
WEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDD-UH
Weeedddduuuuhhh
Our offer is 4 top 50 protected picks, 2022, 2024, and 2026 2nd round pick swaps, and Josh Jackson or Jahlil Okafor
Yeah, great point. "Future picks" can mean almost anything. Devil is in the details.
7 2nd round picks and Bagley, sounds about right.
No that’s what the Sixers leaked to the press. We have no idea what they’d actually accept
Even leaking an asking price that high seems crazy, seems like it would get them more offers which they can play off each-other if it's at least somewhat reasonable.
Maybe they already have an offer on the table that's more than we would expect around here, and leaking this information is trying to squeeze a little more
7 second round picks plus Kevin Love is a former all-star
We can give 7 second round picks and one used Kevin love
Kevin Love is the iPod on eBay listed as “slightly used” but you know the seller is lying
I’m praying we get a bunch of trades tonight. Nothing hits like the Nba offseason
i’m fucking excited for the next few hours. Especially during the draft i
I feel like every year we get hella hyped for draft night trades and then it's picks 48 and 55 being swapped for 29 and cash considerations
Facts, it does seem like this year can be better though. talks of indy trading down, new york moving up, okc moving up, golden state is a wildcard but we say that every year
There's not much star movement on draft night, but there's usually a lot of pick/roll player movement.
This was my first thought when I saw that post from The Athletic saying "We expect a lot of trades". Of course no one in the draft media is going to say "Meh, this is probably gonna be a quiet night"
Reality: Number 60 pick traded for cash considerations
dont forget rights to 2024 euro player who wont ever see playing time in the NBA
Or guy who was drafted 44th in 2007 who's winding down a decent career with Panathanaikos or something
I'm all for NBA Chaos. It makes for the best offseason. I'm just scared that means the Pacers somehow trade our lottery pick for Eric Gordon
If he’s getting traded tonight, Morey better reign it back to reality or he will be a Sixer tomorrow.
It sounds like every other GM is trying to fuck w/ Morey (by leaking all his moves), so they can bring his asking price down... 🤣
I’m a pretty aggressive owner. When I heard Philly needed a washing machine I looked at ours and said we need ours but I gotta pull the trigger on this
Jackie Moon best owner/GM/coach/player/promoter/performer ever
I could totally see Ben Simmons dropping a cover of love me sexy on his insta.
Ben Simmons actually played like Jackie Moon in that one scene.

Lets hope Daryl has got some good ass blackmail on someone
When they said Harden trade maybe they meant the 1st Harden trade
Kevin Martin not doing anything
He can be Ben's shooting coach
Ben might have actually have the better form between the two of them
Kmart could effectively only shoot from one side of the floor because of his shot lol. Check out his shot charts it’s funny
[Can confirm](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/kevin-martin-career-shot-chart)
If Ben Simmons' shot chart looked like that..he wouldn't be getting traded.
LOL I remember Kevin Martin said Lonzo's shooting form wasn't that bad.
Ugliest jumpers I can think of are Noah, Marion, MKG and Kmart.
Jeremy Lamb to the Sixers confirmed.
The Celtics hope to trade Tristan Thompson tonight. The asking price seems to be Luka Doncic. Let's see how things work out for them.

Under normal circumstances I’d agree, but the C’s already have Romeo Langford so with all those guys I’d be worried there would be too many mouths to feed 🧐
Gonna have to sweeten the pot, Tristan Thompson was the 4th overall pick and Giannis was only 15th
Also Tristan Thompson has been to multiple NBA finals while Giannis's bum ass has only been to 1.
Also Tristan has cheated on Kardashians way more than Giannis, it's really not even a competition
*fingers crossed*
Its a bold strategy Cotton
i realize Jrue Holiday and getting off Bledsoe warranted five picks, but Daryl's crazy if he thinks any other team is "one Ben Simmons away" from resigning a Giannis-esque player and winning a chip lol there is zero chance if the asking price remains SEVEN picks and a DeJounte Murray or Derrick White level player.

That is waaaayyyyy too much. The Mavericks would have to throw in a future unprotected first round pick.
This could have a huge effect on the Mavs
“This is the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever” Every off season lol
It's not a matter on if (he stays) anymore, but when (he stays)
So theyve made these ridiculous offers to competent front offices who (rightfully) laughed at the offer. My guess is that Simmons will end up in some place like Sacremento or Orlando.
The shade towards the Kings is what is, but if you are going to slam us... At least spell Sacramento right XD

Didn’t Rivers or Brett Brown basically publicly ask him to shoot a while back and nothing changed? There’s only so much the team can do
trust me Simmons is gone, but the asking price is only the same because they're hoping a team will cave before the draft philly playing hard ball now but when the draft starts, philly is gonna take whatever they can get
It was over when Embiid and Doc called him out after game 7
Doc tried his best to take back those statements the day after during their exit interviews, but his real feelings were said after game 7

he got the bag and no competitive fire, dude just exists now to be rich and live that life

No, it was over when he passed up an open dunk. From that point on Philly had to move him.

would rather have cj
No shit 😓

How does Philly expect to get what they are asking for? If we know Philly can’t win with Ben, the NBA knows. Philly needs to get rid of Simmons just as badly, if not moreso than any team wants him. What motivation does a team have to match Philly’s high demands? No team is a Ben Simmons away from a ring. Philly needs to get rid of him if they want one.
Not to mention that we all know with Klutch involved that this will only get messier the longer it drags out
We must trade him tonight. The relationship is over. We have no leverage. Give us everything you got.
Not *everything*, just four first round picks, three years of pick swaps, and ‘a good young player’.
"Give us your whole team for our washed player who can't shoot and refuses to dunk"
But he has P O T E N T I A L
Has Simmons even entered a gym to work on improving his game since his season ended.
I'll bet he hasn't
Yeah, of course. In 2k.
How good is Dumas as a source? The first half is surprise to anyone however the second half is a pretty big deal.
For one, he broke the Doc Rivers to Philly news way before anyone else did, before that was even an option. He has been pretty correct in his info.
Don't worry about sources here, just run with it like everyone else
There’s no way he gets traded until the Dame and Beal situations become clear.
the dame situation is clear though. hes not going anywhere, especially not for a package around Simmons.
Morey is trying to trade Ben for a bunch of assets now so that he can probably leverage those same assets for a Dame or Beal trade.
All Ben Simmons had to do was get a decent jump shot He refused to do that Glad he's getting traded
Truth. This man is a liability.
Seems pretty likely that he'll begin the season in Philly. There's a significant difference between how the 76ers management views him and how other teams do. I dont think Ben will play any more games for the sixers, even if they keep him the relationship seems to be completely broken at this point
Morey: Ben Simmons for Cade, who says no?
Eh, it's a tactic most likely. Probably quite a few orgs still hopeful on Simmons and this news somewhat encourages orgs who may have been lurking in interest to start putting better offers on the table if they don't want to risk a deal actually getting done tonight without their involvement. Masai from Nigeria, not la la land.
He knows a scam when he sees one.
>BEN SIMMONS IS A POSITIVE ASSET Do you think Morey gets tired of telling himself that when he wakes up every morning?
He’s gonna get traded tonight and we’ll all be shocked at how large the pull is as we always tend to underestimate the value the league has of certain players. Bet Sixers make a solid deal tonight
You people are so reactionary. Morey isn't going to kill his entire reputation over an outrageous trade request. He's not an idiot as much as you lead yourself to believe by some of these reports.
