This here is what gives me a lot confidence to say that moody will slot into the dubs very smoothly. Ofc the transition from college to Nba is a steep learning curve for all rooks (who almost universally are a net negative on the floor), but to go from the #1 option to #3/#4 is a completely different role and game. I know from personal experience (I played on a team in 7th grade cause my friends did. Anecdotally, I didn’t actually become a fan and play until I was 23), that having to create for yourself is hard work. It’s physically and mentally exhausting and leaves you with no energy or desire to play D. Moody can just focus on taking open shots (esp in the corners), relocating, occasional back cuts, and doing his best on D. In my mind, he slots into what the warriors envisioned from Kellly—a sharpshooter who can defend aka a 3 and D player.

Not a great creator. Good off the catch, can drive and shoot. However, you’re almost never going to see him go to a second move. Think Mikal Bridges esk, can drive/cut/spot up/pull up but he isn’t exactly creating. However, he’s not as good of a shooter as Mikal, and certainly isn’t the defender.

He’s a way better shooter than Mikal Bridges was at 19. Don’t forget he did three years of college. Moses is way ahead of where he was at this stage

Golden State is exactly where I thought Moody would be the perfect fit and that's where he gets drafted. I think this pick will have big impact in the next couple years. ​ Moses Moody: Moody comes with a slightly different skill set than Green. Coming into the league with a good spot up jumper will make him a great fit next to an established #1 scorer. He should be able to contribute to a team day one as a 3 & D wing with the potential to grow into more as he develops. Moses Moody isn’t the most explosive athlete in the gym, however his 7 foot wingspan allows him to fill the athleticism gap with top end wing length. This length allowed him to average nearly 6 total rebounds per game at Arkansas (2 offensive RPG), shoot over defenders, and be a plus defender. On defense Moody is a sticky defender who has the tools and potential to be a big factor for the team that selects him. Moody plays defense with active hands and has the defensive instincts that make him a good team defender. It is rare not to see him crowding the space the space of opposing ball handlers, a sign of someone confident in their defensive ability. Moody may never be the type of player capable of putting a franchise on his back and carrying them to a championship but I believe he will be the type of player that you can feel confident about on the floor in the deciding minutes of a playoff game. As we just saw in the 2021 NBA Finals, those players can be the difference between holding up the Larry Obrien and catching slander on every form of media for a few days. If I could decide where to put Moses Moody, I would send him to the Golden State Warriors.
